Neal Summers was a dedicated and decorated teacher that was beloved and respected amongst his peers and students alike. At Whitman Middle school in Seattle, Washington, Mr. Summers would be known for his jovial presence and friendly demeanor.
But Mr. Summers also had a very dark, horrifying and depraved secret.
Darrell Cloud was a 13-year-old student at Whitman Middle School, and a teachers assistant for Mr. Summers.
A once promising athlete whose life slowly decayed into a downward spiral.
And in January of 1994, a fateful day would begin the unraveling of the heinous and abhorrent secrets between The Scholar and the Pupil.
This case is also personal to me as I attended Whitman Middle School in the mid 80’s when Mr. Summers was still actively teaching.
