Just Cheesy, the podcastpresented by Just Cheesy Productions.
Hi there. I'm your host, Fondue
Cheesy Here
this week we're talking aboutsome strange cheese stories.
Ooh
We're gonna talk about TV showcollabs, a ghost kitchen, a cheese
latte, and some fortune telling.
What?
And of course, we're gonnatell a very cheesy joke.

(00:25):
Of course.
Stay tuned for episode 202,Strange Things on Just Cheesy the
Pod. The facts I'm gonna tellyou right now aren't necessarily
strange, but they are interesting.
Okay.
And they come directly fromthe Source. According to travelwisconsin.com

(00:45):
okay. There are over 1 millioncows in Wisconsin.
A million.
And they say here that's onecow for every five Wisconsin residents.
90% of all of the milk made inWisconsin is made into cheese.
Holy cow.
Now that's a lot. They say theAverage American consum 27 pounds
of cheese per year. They saythat Wisconsin produces over 600

(01:09):
varieties of cheese. And thatcheese curds are the freshest form
of cheddar.
Yummy.
Football fans will know thatWisconsin is the home of the cheese
head, which was originallycarved out of a couch cushion.
No whey.
And they say that peopleliterally turn cheese into a piece
of art.
Yeah.
And we know a thing or twoabout cheese art now. We've used
cream cheese to make somepaintings early on.

(01:30):
We did.
You can see some of the videoson our YouTube channel, I'm an Artist.
And also on our website,www.justcheezy.com. we actually have
some pictures of those paintings.
Check it out.
But what spurred on thisweek's episode was a Stranger Things
collab.
Whoa.
According to VegNews.comthere's a collaboration between Babybel

(01:50):
and the show Stranger Things. It's called Baby Bell Hellfire.
What?
Baby Belle has taken theirvegan cheese, the plant based one,
and infused it with chili. It's inspired by the series. They
have a Dungeons and Dragonscrew called the Hellfire Club.
Oh ya.
Right now, the new snack isonly available in the uk. Stranger
Things has a few other collabs.

(02:12):
They do.
They've got a DoritosCollisions where they have two flavors
in one bag. They're retrostyled and they have two flavors,
like Classic Cool Ranch andStranger Pizza. There's an Eggo collaboration
which totally makes sense. Butthese are the Stranger Things Strawberry
Waffles.
Yum.
They've got Stranger ThingsFruit Roll Ups, Fruit by the Foot

(02:32):
Gushers Minis.
What?

(03:25):
There's even Stranger ThingsDig. And Dips and Cake Bites. Stranger
Things is not a sponsor, butif they were, their ad would go right
here. This one isn't StrangerThings, but it is a little bit interesting.
Okay.
According to Chowhound.comback in 2020, there was a new restaurant
called Pasquale's Pizza andWings. And they said it looked just

(03:46):
like a regular neighborhoodpizza place. Like, you know, just
pizza and wings.
Yeah, yeah.
But it wasn't independent at all.
It wasn't.
It was actually Chuck E.Cheese. And apparently this was a
way to keep Chuck E. Cheeseafloat because many customers were
unable to dine indoors.
Oh yeah, I remember.
And they say that the companywas looking at bankruptcy.
Oh no.
The Squally's operated as aghost kitchen.

(04:07):
What's a ghost kitchen?
This is a storefront thatisn't open to the public and they
only cater to delivery orders. But they were basically operated
out of the back of the ChuckE. Cheese locations.
Really?
The menu featured premiumpizzas and wings and the company
claimed they were distinctfrom the in store version with thicker
breasts and extra sauce.

(04:27):
Sure.
According to the article, people felt misled. They wanted to
think they were ordering fromneighborhood pizza places.
Oh no.
And ended up finding out theywere only getting mass produced pizza
from Chuck E. Cheese.
Oh.
Pasquale's was quietly phasedout in 2025. Did you know in China
Starbucks serves a cheese latte?
They do.
In the article they say thatTeen Vogue actually talked about

(04:50):
this back in 2018, that someof the Chinese Starbucks locations
sold a latte made with bakedcheese flavored sauce.
Okay.
The fol at Sporked gave this asix and a half out of ten. And they
said that it doesn't reallytaste like cheese.
Okay.
But they did say it wassemisweet and a little bit bitter.
Wow.
Speaking of bitter, I'm notsure what this one tastes like, but

(05:12):
according to Grandpa Joe'scandy shop.com There is a bottle
of soda called Blue Cheese Soda.
Ew.
I can't personally talk tothis one. I don't know if it's good
or bad. No, it looks like aregular blue soda. So I don't know
if it tastes like blue cheese.
Ew.
If anybody out there has everhad this, us know.
Yeah.
Speaking of soda, back in2023, according to food.NDTV.com

(05:36):
people were actually gratingcheese on the top of their sodas.
The food blogger, foodieaddicted shows a man in a shop. He
fills a glass with crushedice. He adds a layer of peanuts.
He fills the glass withpineapple soda and blueberry soda.
And then he grates cheese onthe top and serves that to a customer.

(05:57):
Ew.
According to captimes.com,jennifer Billock can see your future
in a block of blue cheese.
Whoa.
Jennifer is a travel writerand author of Kitchen Witch newsletter,
and she's been dabbling infortune telling since she was young.
Really?
She's going to share hertalent at the Art of Cheese festival
in Madison, Wisconsin,September 25th through 28th.

(06:17):
Wow.
Fortune telling with cheese iscalled tyromancy, and it's an ancient
practice, really.Historically, people have used things
like tea leaves or dice oreven read people's palms. She asks
people to come with an openmind, knowing that it's real, but
it's also sill. Yeah. And shesays because it's less serious doesn't
mean it works any less. And ofcourse, at the end, you get to eat

(06:40):
it.
Yum.
Maybe you don't want your popwith cheese on top.
Nope.
And maybe you don't want tofind out your future.
Maybe.
But you do want to play agame. Well, according to store.steampower.com
you can play a game calledCheese Rolling.
Like the cheese rolling.
Oh, that's right. Someone hasmade a game. Oh, yeah, a video game
out of the famous Cooper'sHill. Cheese Rolling.

(07:01):
Nice.
You can't get enough ofwatching people just hurl themselves
down a hill, almost killthemselves trying to get a wheel
of cheese. Oh, yeah, that'sright. If you don't want to do it
yourself, you can try it athome. Well, they say here, chase
a cheese wheel down a steephill. In Cheese Rolling, up to eight
players compete in a chaotictumble to catch a runaway cheese.
Chaotic.
This game looks hilarious. It's just a bunch of people tumbling

(07:23):
down a hill. It looks like thereal thing, and we haven't played
it yet, but we will. And we'lllet you know in our next episode
how it goes.
I'm ready for a joke. Fondue.
Okay, this one feels like aninstant classic.
Oh, boy.
What do you say to a cheesewhen it leaves the room?
I don't know. Fondue.
Goo da. Bye. Get it. Gooda.
Bye. That was pretty good.

(07:43):
Oh, that feels like an oldiebut goodie and a little bit cheesy.
Thanks for listening to JustCheesy, the podcast, episode 202,
Strange Things.
Thank you.
If you've been able to playthe game Cheese Rolling, please drop
