Welcome to episode 4 of the Justin Birkholz Podcast!!

Zevi Slavin is the creator of the  @SeekersofUnity YouTube channel that explores "the intersection of philosophy and mysticism across traditions, east and west, ancient and contemporary, in the hopes of creating a more intimate world together." Seekers was actually the very first YouTube channel I ever subscribed to and a huge part of the inspiration behind starting my own.

Zevi brings a heart-centered but rigorous and academic approach to his videos and he has been an invaluable guide in my exploration of Jewish philosophy and mysticism. He's sharp and intimidatingly well-read, and he uses his platform to educate people in the hopes of fostering peace and unity between people of different spiritual traditions and faiths. He also has had the privilege of interviewing some of the world's leading scholars and philosophers. I highly recommend subscribing to his channel if you haven't already.

In this episode, we talk about his background and his channel, and then we dive into the BIG question. What is mysticism?! We also discuss the pros and cons of perennialism, its relationship to mysticism, and why mysticism is seeing a resurgence today.
