Outsider's have this misconception of what makes a "police officer." The truth is, anybody can become a police officer and their motivation to do so varies. Hard conversations are not happening with police officers in a professional way, especially around police tactical situations. The easiest thing we can do, that cost no money, no time, no training, is change the conversation on accountability. Good or bad the individual officer is not only accountable but also culpable for the outcome. Police training is the individuals officers responsibility and it always will be. If you are who you want people to think you are, then you would make police tactical training a priority. Encouraging police tactics to evolve starts with police accountability.
