a journey.
I think we are pretty decidedthat we're going to continue and
do a Defender State series, andso if you feel like you have a
(01:02):
passion for the state, you're inthe state you were born in, a
state you lived in for a longtime and you're going.
I want to just tell everybodyabout this state.
Tell us so we can bring you on,because we would love to talk
about it and it's not going tobe like a lawyer defend, but
like a hey, pitch it.
Let us know, we want to hearhow great it is.
Speaker 2 (01:23):
Why should we come
visit your state?
Why should anybody come visityour state If you're Ohio?
Why are the kids backing sohard on you right now?
Speaker 1 (01:32):
I know I actually
have a guy that I might ask for
Ohio.
I saw him today because he'sfrom Ohio Pastor guy.
I thought, man, he may be agood starter because Ohio's
getting some heat.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
Ohio yeah, Florida's
like geez.
What did Ohio do to take itfrom us?
Speaker 1 (01:49):
We've missed you.
We've missed you 8.
Speaker 2 (01:51):
We love you so much
we wanted your time down.
We're going to need that back.
Speaker 1 (01:55):
If you are someone
who loves your state, then let
us know.
We left you all a cliffhanger.
Speaker 2 (02:03):
We did A real
cliffhanger A a cliffhanger.
We did A real cliffhanger, areal cliffhanger.
Speaker 1 (02:07):
A cliffhanger of the
joyous kind, not of the is he
going to live kind, but of thehow great does it get?
Kind?
Speaker 2 (02:16):
Yes, and also we ran
out of time, and so we just
didn't have time to finish.
Well, that too, I mean, that'sa cliffhanger, though, right.
Speaker 1 (02:25):
The cliffhanger of
cliffhangers in Savannah Georgia
.
Andrew, are you ready?
Speaker 2 (02:30):
Yes, I'm ready, I'm
ready, you're ready.
Okay, we're picking back upwhere we left off.
Okay, so to catch you all up, Ithink it's important to state
that.
Remember the setting Savannah, georgia, designed by King George
II, and he laid it all out inEngland and then said go
(02:57):
servants, find a place suitablefor my city and build it.
And they did.
And in 1733, savannah wasfounded, which brings us up to
speed.
So youth pastor Scott Clevelandtook us on a tour.
After our tour.
This is where we pick up today.
(03:19):
This is where we were lefthanging off of the cliff.
Ooh, after our tour we went.
I tried to clear my throat andit just made it worse A couple
times, a couple times.
Yeah, boy, I'm just that excited.
This is what happens.
We went to a pub to have adrink with Scott.
After that, he showed us aroundSkidaway Island, where the
(03:39):
church and most of thecongregation are.
I saw some of the mostimpressive houses I've ever seen
.
Many of the people are retiredyam dankies, as they politely
call them.
Speaker 1 (03:52):
That's a good one.
That's a good one.
Speaker 2 (03:57):
Or other extremely
wealthy individuals.
Even Scott's parish house wasbeautiful, even Scott's parish
house was beautiful.
The killer was that one couldmove into one of those mansions
for under a million dollars andprices had gone up there
recently, yeah.
Speaker 1 (04:16):
So I don't know how
much to spoil, but we are
probably going to get ScottCleveland on the show, which is
pretty awesome, because wereached out and we found very
awesome and one of the things hesaid was um, even after we've
been there, he's like man, the2020.
It has made the prices here goup, and so even from then
they've gone up because peopleare relocating to savannah and
(04:38):
yeah, why wouldn't you?
Honestly?
Speaker 2 (04:42):
right, I I mean yeah,
if you're like looking for a
place to go don't pass that overdon't pass that over, no yeah,
these were I mean for, for ourexperience in life, these were
actual mansions.
Speaker 1 (05:01):
Yes, yes, this is the
problem with the california
brain, right.
Like we don't have regularbrains about houses, we see
these places and we're like thisis the most incredible house
I've ever seen in my life.
This was me going into alabamaand see the church members
houses and be like wait, youhave like four masters.
This is like a five milliondollar house, like, oh, eight
(05:23):
hundred thousand dollars, likewhat, like what.
Like so what do you like own?
Speaker 2 (05:27):
Delta Airlines, like
how do you get this?
How do you, how do you get aplace like this?
Speaker 1 (05:39):
Are.
All of our houses are so tighttogether.
They are, I mean, they're niceand they're, they're great, but
for what we get it is soexpensive, and then you go to
those places and it just blowsyou away.
In the South, it just does, itabsolutely blows you away.
Now, granted, it's July and 73degrees in Redondo Beach, and
there's been a heat wave.
Speaker 2 (06:00):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (06:00):
Yes.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
Yeah, for the
listener here.
As we started, I'm tellingScott that it's quite warm in my
house because we're actuallyreplacing our air conditioning
unit as we speak.
So today was day one of two ofthis installation, which means
we have no AC today, but rightnow it's 75 degrees outside and
dropping Right, but right nowit's 75 degrees outside and
(06:25):
dropping and you know like itwas 85 today.
I'm slightly uncomfortable.
Yeah Right, I'm a little.
It's going to be interesting tosleep tonight.
But you know what?
There's no humidity here, no.
Speaker 1 (06:38):
No, no, yeah, it's
true, it's true.
And Emily is down where shegrew up, which is not the same
weather, and I think it was 121today.
Oh, yes, my.
But here's the crazy part it'snot insanely hot, but it drops
like 40 degrees at night.
It gets down to like 80 degreesat night, which is still warm,
(07:02):
but a 40 degree swing is whatthe desert does.
In the south it was like a2-degree swing.
It was like 91 in the day, 89at night, 92, 90.
That humidity just bakes it,whereas the dry desert it's like
whoa, whoa, whoa.
It's the craziest thing.
There's no other in thesedifferent places.
(07:23):
So yeah, that's a wildexperience, oh man.
Speaker 2 (07:26):
It always comes back
to that.
You know it's, it's, it's.
What do you, what do you getfor the money?
You know I being in Tennesseerecently rolling hills,
everything's green, it'sbeautiful, beautiful.
It takes a lot of rain to makethings green.
It does.
Speaker 1 (07:43):
It takes a lot of
rain to make things green.
Speaker 2 (07:44):
It does.
It takes a lot of humidity.
Beautiful Savannah.
Speaker 1 (07:49):
Absolutely.
We did the tour Big houses.
Speaker 2 (07:57):
That was it, guys.
That was the big thing thatyou've been waiting For a whole
week to hear.
Speaker 1 (08:03):
No, it wasn't.
No, it wasn't.
The next day is the big thingThey've been waiting for a whole
week to hear.
No, no, it wasn't.
No, it wasn't.
The next day is the big thingthey've been waiting to hear.
Are you saying?
Speaker 2 (08:10):
there's more there's
more.
Speaker 1 (08:13):
There's more savannah
, the city that keeps giving
legitimately.
What we're about to tell you, listener, is a thought that I go
back to.
When things are, you know, you're having a rough day or you
just need to like escape inyour mind, my dad used to say
this, like we'd be at thecottage or cottage Michigan or
(08:33):
somewhere, and he'd say, hey, take a snapshot of this in your
brain, and when you're in school, you're bored, come back to
this place.
And I've always thought thatwas kind of a nice thing, so
I'll say that to my kids.
You know, hey, remember, thisis a great place and just you
can't be here forever, but it'snice to be here now.
This memory that we're about tosay is one of those.
I'm like, ah, what a great day.
Yeah, what a great thing tohave happen to us.
Speaker 2 (08:56):
Oh, my goodness you
know what I mean.
Like that.
That's of day that you're aboutto go for, so read it.
I can't wait, so read it.
Okay, day 52, thursday, day twoin Savannah, if you're keeping
track, today was a busy day.
We had an appointment at theWesley Community Center at 930
to see how we could help themout in the next two days.
(09:20):
Of course, super guy ScottCleveland, youth pastor, knocks
on the RV door at about 8.45 andtells us that we can borrow his
Jeep Wrangler for the weekendbecause it would be too
difficult to drive the RV and hewasn't using it anyways.
Speaker 1 (09:41):
Wow, that's the
moment Knock, knock, knock.
That's the moment Knock, knock,knock.
Speaker 2 (09:48):
Who's knocking on our
door at 845?
Santa Claus.
Speaker 1 (09:52):
Yes, and he says the
line I remember and maybe I've
made this up in my head but isSavannah's too beautiful a city
for you guys to drive that thingaround?
Yeah, you need to use this.
Montana's too beautiful a cityfor you guys to drive that thing
around?
Yeah, you need to use this.
I step out and there's a whiteJeep Wrangler yes, no doors, no
doors, no roof, no roof.
(10:13):
Just this beautiful car.
My first car was a 1975 PostalJeep.
It looks like a Jeep and and itlooks like a Jeep and it has
the back of a square but thefront has a classic Jeep.
Look, and your first car, Ithink, just buries into your
(10:33):
soul you know, Like that first, like oh, it's just something
special about it forever.
And there it is, Sitting outside.
He's like use this.
Speaker 2 (10:42):
Oh yes, sir oh my
gosh, are you kidding me, this
guy?
Yeah, again.
We had just recently spent thecoldest night of the trip,
freezing to death Nearly.
We survived.
And then we're in Savannah, georgia, where the people are
warm, the weather is warm, andthis guy after an incredible
(11:05):
night is just like hey, you guyscan't drive around in a
motorhome, take my convertibleJeep.
Have fun, Just take it guys.
I met a day ago Unreal.
Speaker 1 (11:21):
This to me, is like
the perfect view of the kingdom
of god, like what we want it tobe is we meet this guy and we
don't know him, but we do knowhim because we share so much in
common because of jesus, andthen he just jesus, just shows
off by, like I want to justbless you guys, like so crazy,
(11:45):
cool, yeah, and like theimmediate thing, relationship,
kinship, that's there.
Yeah, it's just because of of acommon shared faith that this
was, this was the, this was whatwe wanted to do.
I mean right, like it was abeautiful, incredible, but also
it's exactly what we wanted todo.
Speaker 2 (12:06):
Yeah, yeah, it was
great.
I mean I need to, I need tothink about him more in my life,
right, you know you, you hearthese stories.
I um, I read a book, believe itor not, recently, yeah, yes.
Recently.
Well, that was incrediblerecently, recently, that was
(12:28):
incredible A year ago.
I usually average one a year.
This one was written by countrysinger Walker Hayes.
We're going to go see him soon.
We're going to go see him soon.
He talks about his friend Craigwho basically he attributes his
success.
He talks about his friend Craigwho, basically he attributes
(12:48):
his, you know, conversion.
Yeah, like well, his like justall the amazing things in life
and how he became a Christian isbecause of the generosity of
this guy who, for no otherreason than just he was a
believer who walked the walk.
So yeah when you hear aboutpeople like that, it's just like
that's outrageous and it's likemaybe it's not, it's just what
(13:11):
we should.
Speaker 1 (13:11):
Maybe it's not, but
anyways, maybe it's just what we
should be doing, and I thinkthose simple words of like,
hospitality and generosity, yeahare overlooked.
Right, because we so often makechristianity, this, like huge
thing and mission trips andgiving to the poor, all good,
all you should do, but also justbeing generous, like with your
(13:32):
neighbor, being hospitable to aperson who knocks on your door
those are foundational to whatwe do and who we should be.
And so I've told I've said thisbefore the podcast, but I've
like told my staff like look, ifyou get a phone call that gets
through the podcast, but I'velike told my staff like, look,
if you get a phone call thatgets through to me and they're
going to ask us to like sleephere or do something, I'm going
(13:53):
to say yes.
So if you don't want them to dothat, yeah, yeah.
I was that guy.
Yeah, this is what I think weshould be about about like
opening our doors, eating withpeople, having people sleep, you
know.
So I'm just.
It's so funny, so yeah.
Speaker 2 (14:11):
And I think that
comes so much more naturally to
you than it does to me.
Like I, it's something I reallyhave to think about, and think
about like generosity, like Ipeople have been generous to me
(14:31):
and I tend to be somebody who isa hoarder of myself.
Do you know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (14:34):
Like I do.
Speaker 2 (14:35):
I'm fine in my walled
garden all by myself all the
time.
I, you know, and my wife Marylike we're both a little bit
that way in some respects.
You know Mary's well.
I wouldn't say that Mary's verygenerous with and she's very
caring and can make anybody feelimportant, which is one of the
(14:59):
things I love about her.
But, like we have this houseand we built this pool and one
of the things about it is, um,oh, there's Isaac.
Um, it's just being generouswith that and like having people
over and doing, uh, you know,we had a bunch of people over
for um 4th of July and in ouryouth or not our youth group,
(15:20):
but our life group here andthings like that.
So it's just like one of thesethings that I I sometimes need
to like intentionally say like, yeah, we're going to do this,
because this is, this is good, this is who we are.
Let's do it, whereas I think forsome people it's just like, of
course somebody is going to callup the church and ask to sleep
in the parking lot.
Of course we say yes, like it,I'm just.
(15:41):
I'm saying this because, like,if you're anything like me and
you're listening to, like, ittakes an intentionality to be
like yes, I agree with that.
Speaker 1 (15:52):
I totally agree with
that.
And one of the things thatyou're speaking, that I'm
thinking about, that we've beenincredibly intentional about of
our house here is being frontyard people as opposed to
backyard people, and so, likewe've been intentional about
trying to spend time in thefront yard, meet people opposed
to backyard people, and so, likewe've been intentional about
trying to spend time in thefront yard, meet people, say hi
to people as they go by, BecauseI think and this could be a
(16:13):
Southern California thing but wehave this ability to drive into
our houses, open our garages, drive into our garage, close the
garage, go into our house, livein the backyard, back to the
house and never come out againfrom our little castle until we
get to work the next day five,10, 20 miles, and then we don't
know the people that live aroundus and you know, I think God
planted you in a neighborhoodand at a work and at a place
(16:35):
where you can serve and lovethose people, and so that that
is, I think, another intentionalthing.
Like, again, it's not, it's nothuge, it's not these like you
have to go and fly to Istanbul,it's just looking around you and
I think, yeah, being hospitableand being generous and what I
(16:55):
mean.
Scott Cleveland just nailed it,Nailed it.
Speaker 2 (16:59):
Man, I can't wait to
talk more about that with him.
This goes beyond like hey, I'llwatch your cat while you're on
vacation.
Speaker 1 (17:08):
Right, here's a car.
Speaker 2 (17:11):
Yeah, yeah, unreal.
Speaker 1 (17:13):
It was the perfect
gift.
I mean, that's why, like I wassaying, I go back in my mind
because it's such a beautifullike I just loved it so much.
And it rubbed that part of myheart of like, hey, you had a
car, you had this, You're doingthat.
Now you get to do these thingsand enjoy it.
(17:34):
It's really great.
Speaker 2 (17:38):
No doubt.
All right, we're in the Jeep.
We got our own windblown selvesto the Wesley Center in
downtown and met Sarah, the ladyin charge, along with some
other key people, includingCharles, the janitor slash
maintenance guy, and we got towork right away.
(18:00):
We spent the morning cleaningout a supply shed for Charles, a
retired janitor from GeneralMotors in Michigan.
Now I remember that.
Speaker 1 (18:12):
I don't know why?
Speaker 2 (18:13):
but I was like we got
to build.
We cleaned out a shed, I thinkwe built a couple shelves, we
were doing stuff right.
Speaker 1 (18:20):
Yeah, I am a doer of
stuff, but you're more a doer of
stuff than I am.
Oh man, by default, give me aproject you love, yeah, you love
doers, I love, like I.
It's interesting because we didthe DISP test and I fell in the
D world, which is a little moretask-oriented, and I get that
part of myself.
(18:41):
You did Like, really, I did, Idid, I.
You did, really I did, I did, Ihad some, but I was more of a D
.
Speaker 2 (18:45):
I wouldn't have
expected that, but probably
towards the middle.
Speaker 1 (18:49):
D-I, where you were a
D-C right, Uh-huh.
And so I was like okay, thatmakes sense.
But it's just so interestingthat I just love to sit and talk
and, you know, have these deeptheological conversations, and
that's where you're like, it'sinto like, and when are we going
to build something.
Speaker 2 (19:06):
Do you want me to dig
a hole?
I don't want to sit hereanymore.
Yeah, let's go build a shed andnot talk to each other for like
five hours.
Speaker 1 (19:17):
Yeah, you did, and is
this where we did the mural
thing too?
Speaker 2 (19:24):
I believe it is Okay,
let's keep going.
I can't.
I don't know if it was the sameday, but I think it was.
I think the Wesley Center wherewe're talking about is where we
did this mural.
Speaker 1 (19:36):
And that was really
cool.
Speaker 2 (19:37):
So at 1130, rachel,
the youth pastor at Christ
Episcopal, picked us up forlunch to discuss what we would
do with the youth at her churchon Sunday night.
If you're keeping score at home, we've been in Savannah for a
(19:57):
day and already threeorganizations Right Recall back
to the Northeast where it's likewe couldn't find anybody.
We finally found somebody andthen the bro ghosts us and he's
like maybe if I just disappearthey'll go away.
Speaker 1 (20:08):
And then we went to
the Boston Seafarers Mission,
right, right.
I mean this is why we have totalk about hospitality and
generosity on this part, becauseit was insane the difference to
finding ministries andopportunities in the South
versus finding them on the EastCoast.
(20:31):
I mean, it was just totallydifferent Worlds apart.
Speaker 2 (20:34):
Worlds apart, worlds
apart.
I know you think you have to goto another country to
experience other cultures andstuff.
There are plenty of differentcultures to be found across the
united states.
Yeah, not quite the same, butstill pretty fascinating.
No, it is.
Yeah, so in a phrase that fewunderstand, but those who do
(20:55):
know exactly what I mean when Isay.
Rachel is old school sunshines-o-n-s-h-i-n-e.
So that-E.
So that's for, like, one of youlistening right now.
Speaker 1 (21:08):
Yes, that is.
Speaker 2 (21:09):
So Sunshine to fill
everybody else in.
Sunshine is the camp that Iworked in college.
It's a ministry that caterstowards high school and middle
school age students.
It's a week on a houseboat, playing in the water, swimming
playing cards, inner tubingbehind a boat water skiing,
(21:29):
wakeboarding, hiking.
It's the best.
Small groups worship under thestars on sort of your camp
counselor.
Speaker 1 (21:52):
Yeah, like, if they
don't wear shoes, you're not
surprised, right right.
Like we're going out to eat ata nice restaurant but you don't
have shoes on, like right.
Speaker 2 (22:00):
Yeah, okay, oh, I
brought my own salad dressing
that I made from a honey bee'snest that you know.
Speaker 1 (22:08):
And hemp seed.
Speaker 2 (22:09):
Right, right, Maybe
not that Like yeah, I never went
that far, but you know, like Iknew, those people?
Speaker 1 (22:15):
No, but that's the
world.
That's the world, and it isyeah, and they're great, and
they're great, but it's yeah,and that's her vibe, and that's.
Speaker 2 (22:25):
Not surprised at all.
Yeah, so I do go on Sandalwearing Nalgene toting.
So a Nalgene bottle was likethe cool, like if you were like
cool young college age.
Yeah, but like Stanley's, moreof the like I don't know trendy
thing, the Nalgene was like ohyeah, sure, I've been mountain
(22:49):
climbing plenty of times.
It was like the outdoorperson's calling card.
Speaker 1 (22:57):
Along with.
Speaker 2 (22:57):
Chico Living Ball of
Camp Counselor Obnoxious Energy
is how I said it.
So yeah like has like a crazysandal tan, because all they
ever wear is like their Chacosandals or their Teva sandals or
whatever.
Yeah, you know the type I legithere.
Speaker 1 (23:14):
Hold on, hold on.
This is funny.
This is coming up Because soI'm going fishing with our buddy
, Matt Conrad, who you know, andI need water shoes to like,
walk in, like when we're goingwalking and fishing in the river
right, oh yeah.
Speaker 2 (23:29):
And oh yeah, you know
what I'm like.
Speaker 1 (23:30):
I'm like I'm gonna
buy tivas for this.
Yeah, because I feel likethat's the right shoe, right for
this kind of moment.
Sure, I got good reports frompeople like they're comfortable,
they last a long time, theyshow up in the mail and emily is
disgusted.
What she's like?
She's like I didn't realizethis is who I married.
Speaker 2 (23:54):
Welcome to the jungle
, baby.
Speaker 1 (23:56):
Yeah, Teva wearing.
Oh man, I'm like look, I'm not25 anymore.
Now I've got to strap the Tevason when I go hiking through the
river to catch our food.
Speaker 2 (24:12):
You're going to come
back with your beard all waxed
with some natural honeysuckleoil that you when did I get this
Subaru from?
Speaker 1 (24:19):
How did I pack it?
Speaker 2 (24:21):
in my car, that's
right, and not like a new one
but like an old, no, like an oldForester with lots of REI
stickers and stuff.
Coexist is definitely on theback, yeah.
Speaker 1 (24:31):
Because it cannot be.
Who rescued who?
Yeah, going to make her get adog, a pound puppy, but there's
ties, so like I've only had themfor a couple of days, but it is
kind of funny to wear them andthere's an immediate reaction.
Speaker 2 (24:48):
Well, reaction and I
wore them a church one day.
Speaker 1 (24:52):
Oh, I could not.
I'm sunday, but like for officedays, I'll break them in.
My senator is like yeah, I seethe reaction now, yeah, yeah
yeah, that's justified uh sowhite socks, those sandals?
Speaker 2 (25:08):
okay, that was my
question.
I'm like, were you doing socksor no socks?
Speaker 1 (25:12):
no, yeah, okay, okay,
no socks, but all right, but
the tiva, the tiva, tan has comein this trip.
Speaker 2 (25:18):
I think man yes do
they still have that little like
plastic triangle by the?
Speaker 1 (25:24):
I think I think I
bought the nicer version.
I think I bought the nicerversion so that I could have the
like for a little more longerlasting.
So they're not.
Speaker 2 (25:34):
Yeah, they're not, I
thought that was like a staple
of the.
Speaker 1 (25:38):
Oh no, I know, but
the upper strap, yeah, and the
thing is they are prettycomfortable.
They're pretty comfortable.
Well, you know, I told EmilyI'm like, well, go boating,
boating.
She's like you are not wearingthose boating.
Speaker 2 (25:48):
I'm like you know
these are non-marking outsoles.
That's good for the boating, yeah, no slip for the boating oh
my gosh, I know I want to seepictures of that.
Um, oh you'll get picture okay, let's see here.
So enough said.
We had lunch with her andchecked out her youth room,
(26:11):
which was awesome, very plush, which is quite unusual for a
youth room, wouldn't you say.
Speaker 1 (26:17):
Agreed, agreed.
Speaker 2 (26:18):
Okay, after lunch we
went back to the Wesley Center
and did some weeding andcontinued working on the shed.
Yes, we ran out of work at 4 or4.30.
No.
They told us to go in a niceway, right something like oh,
bless your heart, you're done, please leave, done.
(26:39):
Uh, we got back to skid awaypretty early, so I got behind
the wheel of the jeep and gaveit my best shot now, I had never
driven a stick before, which iswhere this comment comes from I
wasn't sure if we were gonnamention your your lack of man
card stamping at this point ornot.
(27:00):
Yes, I had to do all the drivingyes, I had the thought in my
mind when I was introducing theamazingness of the jeep and I
was like, oh yeah, scott drovethat because that was a stick
for sure.
Yeah, okay.
So I have only driven stickmaybe twice before this.
So it was rough.
I stalled and lurched andbumped around for a while, until
(27:22):
we had enough of that Fordinner.
Yeah, yeah.
So it's like okay, that's good, that's good, oh well.
Speaker 1 (27:31):
How's your stick
driving now?
It's pretty good.
You know how I learned.
No Scooters.
Oh, that's right, we had thescooters.
Speaker 2 (27:39):
I don't know what it
was, but something clicked in my
brain Once we got the scooters, which were manual transmission.
I learned on that.
And then I hopped in a car witha stick and I was like wait, I
can drive this, it's weird, yeahthat.
Speaker 1 (27:51):
Knowing where the
clutch, that's the whole thing
right.
It's like figuring out wherethe clutch engages.
Speaker 2 (27:55):
Yeah, so although one
time I got the chance to go up
to the Seattle area and go tothis rally car racing school oh,
it was like a one-day event forwork, and so- we got to drive.
we got to drive these Subarusaround a dirt track but they
were all stick shift and so it'slike you're driving and you're
(28:16):
concentrating on you know, you've got an instructor sitting
next to you and you're goingfast and he goes, keep going,
keep going, keep going, keepgoing and he goes break.
Now, you know, and it's likeand you got to shift and turn
and break and listen to all this, and to shift and turn and
break and listen to all this.
And there was definitely onepart where, like, my brain is in
overload and I I don't knowwhat I did exactly, but I
totally ended up not on thetrack and just like rough
(28:37):
terrain, just like and doinglike a u-turn and the guy was
definitely like, oh my god, thisguy's gonna break our car, um,
but I didn't and it was a blast.
And then I got to ride withlike a real rally cross driver
through the forest.
Oh man, that was fun.
If you're ever in Seattle, lookup Dirt Fish, whatever it is.
Speaker 1 (28:54):
That is so cool, it's
amazing.
Speaker 2 (28:56):
It is amazing that
made me want to buy a Subaru
right there.
Yeah, that's amazing.
For dinner we had.
It was awesome we had round twoof Super Scott's Dinner.
Speaker 1 (29:08):
Mm-hmm, mm-hmm,
mm-hmm.
Yes, we did.
Yes, we did yes.
I still think I remember usgoing into the kitchen and
getting our leftovers out of thefridge.
He did love it.
Speaker 2 (29:17):
So good, so good.
I said that somebody hadbrought us baseball mitts, but
we had no balls.
Ha ha, ha, ha, ha.
Yeah, straight from the journal.
It's still funny all theseyears later.
Speaker 1 (29:30):
It's still funny.
It's still funny, solid, solid.
Speaker 2 (29:33):
Solid.
Well, the solution was to goget some.
So we hopped in the Jeep andwent to the mall.
As we walked into the mall, Ibegan to laugh because Scott
looked like a Michigancheerleader.
Speaker 1 (29:48):
I had my steam in
very Speaking of you and your
fashion choices right?
Speaker 2 (29:54):
Oh my gosh.
He had on a blue with yellowstriped windbreaker pants and a
Michigan jacket that matchedbeautifully.
Oh, the looks we got.
We found our balls Ha ha, ha,ha ha At Champ Sports and headed
back to play some catch.
Speaker 1 (30:18):
I don't know why I in
general, fashion is just not my
strong point.
Speaker 2 (30:25):
Let's just be honest,
it's just not where I live or
starting new trends?
Speaker 1 (30:31):
Who knows Right?
Oh, that's awesome.
Speaker 2 (30:33):
Maybe you've just got
it figured out, maybe I do.
Speaker 1 (30:37):
Then everyone has to
catch up.
Yeah, I see myself walking tothat mall with my windbreaker on
.
I don't wear enoughwindbreakers anymore.
They didn't even come back.
Speaker 2 (30:48):
I like a windbreaker
Solid windbreaker you know, it's
like windbreaker it'slightweight, gives you enough
protection you know from thewind.
Right, we're not hot, you'renot overly hot, yeah, you got a
little windbreaker.
Speaker 1 (31:00):

Speaker 1 (31:26):

Speaker 2 (31:37):

that age where you you're like
getting super nostalgic.

vehicle on facebook marketplaceand you're not going to be able
to resist.
Speaker 1 (31:51):

Yeah, it will be mine.
Speaker 2 (32:00):

not slowly fill up with all this.
