Listen to Megan explain how her complications in the third trimester led to her being medically induced at 38 weeks, instead of getting to experience spontaneous birth as she had hoped for. After having a safe and easy delivery, Megan tells listeners about an issue her son had that required he be placed in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for several days at another hospital across town, which altered her wishes for breastfeeding only in the beginning and caused some grief that she had to overcome. From that NICU stay, however, there was a positive that Megan highlights, because she was as able to document her milk supply changes following birth and leading up to the day her milk came in, providing much insight into the amount of colostrum vs. milk that her body produced in those first few days to feed her baby. She points out many common anxieties and struggles first-time breastfeeding mothers experience, while also showing her passion and love for breastfeeding her son.
