- En mi familia, el álbum de fotos es un museo de ficciones y realidades. La pieza estrella es un recorte de periódico de 1968 donde mis padres, jóvenes y sonrientes, pasean del brazo por la Alameda Central. El pie de foto reza: «¡SE PUEDEN LLEVAR BIEN LOS FUTUROS POLITECNICOS Y LA UNIVERSITARIAS! (Como ellos dos que son novios y próximos a casarse)» (sic). Lo curioso es que yo, el hijo menor, nací en septiembre de 1967, y la foto, según el testimonio de los protagonistas, es de 1963. Es decir: los medios no solo mintieron sobre la paz estudiantil ese año, sino que hasta tomaron fotos de archivo para fingir armonía. Y mis padres, sin saberlo, fueron cómplices del engaño, posando como si el 2 de octubre fuera un mal chiste y no una herida nacional.
