(00:14):
Welcome to the Lansdale Life Church podcast.
If you're seeking a closer relationship with Jesus Christ, this podcast is for you.
Thank you for joining us today.
(00:35):
Now, if you would, why don't you turn to Hebrews chapter 8.
And we're going to be talking today about the New Covenant.
Aren't you glad we're under the New Covenant?
All right, we're not striving to be saved.
We're not striving to be righteous, striving to be holy.
(00:57):
It's what Christ has already done, right?
By the blood of Christ, like Ron was saying,
we've been washed clean of all of our sins.
Are you glad your sins are washed away
and that He will choose to remember them no more?
Think about that.
No more, no mas.
No more.
He will not remember our sins any longer.
I mean, praise God for that, you know.
(01:18):
And this is the New Covenant that we're talking about.
And as we saw throughout Hebrews so far,
there's kind of rippling themes that are spoken about
and they come back and come back.
And Jamie did a great job last week
talking about our eternal advocate.
And we'll see a touch of that in here.
(01:39):
But we're going to be focusing today
as we read through Hebrews 8.1, just one thing.
And really, it's the New Covenant, okay?
Because those other things we have talked about
as far as Christ being our high priest
and what that really means.
And so, if you would turn to Hebrews 8,
we're going to read right through the whole chapter
in one shot and then discuss the New Covenant.
(02:05):
So Father God, I thank you for our brothers and sisters here.
Most of all, Lord God, we thank you
that your Holy Spirit is here, Lord,
because without your Holy Spirit,
we would not have enlightenment.
We would not be able to interpret what we're about to read.
We would not be able to comprehend it
the way you want us to.
So Lord God, we ask your Holy Spirit
(02:25):
to take the sword of the Spirit,
the word of God, and Lord,
impute understanding into us
so that we can even derive something
we've never even thought about before as we read this.
And so Lord, we thank you in Jesus' name.
Amen.
All right, ready?
Hebrews 8, verse 1.
(02:47):
Now, this is the main point of the things we are saying.
We have such a high priest
who is seated at the right hand of the throne
of the majesty in the heavens.
A minister of the sanctuary of the true tabernacle
which the Lord erected, not man.
(03:07):
For every high priest is appointed
to offer both gifts and sacrifices.
Therefore, it is necessary that this one
also have something to offer.
For if we, I'm sorry, if we were on earth,
if he were on earth, he would not be a priest
since there are priests who offer the gifts
(03:29):
according to the law.
In other words, the Levites.
Who serve the copy and shadow of the heavenly things.
As Moses was divinely instructed
when he was about to make the tabernacle.
For he said, see that you make all things
according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.
(03:50):
But now he has obtained a more excellent ministry
in as much as he is also mediator of a better covenant
which was established on better promises.
For if that first covenant had been faultless
then no place would have been sought for a second.
(04:10):
Because finding fault with them he says,
behold the days are coming says the Lord
when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel
and with the house of Judah.
Not according to the covenant that I made
with their fathers in the day when I took them
by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt
(04:31):
because they did not continue in my covenant
and I disregarded them says the Lord.
For this is the covenant that I will make
with the house of Israel after those days says the Lord.
I will put my laws in their mind
and write them on their hearts
and I will be their God and they shall be my people.
(04:53):
None of them shall teach his neighbor and none his brother
saying no the Lord for all shall know me
from the least of them to the greatest of them.
For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness
and their sins and their lawless deeds
I will remember no more.
In that he says a new covenant
(05:16):
he has made the first obsolete.
Now what is becoming obsolete
and growing old is ready to vanish away.
Wow I know that's a lot there right?
But I think it was good to like pack it all in
because we're gonna start kind of with the last part
(05:37):
and that is the first covenant is becoming obsolete.
Obsolete now you probably know what the word obsolete means
but the Greek word means similar to make
ancient or old worn out
about to be repealed or done away with obsolete.
You know as I was thinking about
(05:59):
you know the word the law was a good thing you know
I mean the law is good right?
It's from God and it's good
and yet it's obsolete
and I was trying to think of what is obsolete okay?
That is good and yet I mean it was very good
it was like the best and now it became obsolete
(06:19):
and for some reason the Lord gave me a vision
of an aircraft carrier.
Now you're gonna say what are you talking about
an aircraft carrier?
Well my brother was in the Navy for six years
and most of his stint in the Navy as a nuke
he was on this nuclear ship the USS Enterprise.
(06:40):
He's a nuke right?
And so he would be working on this ship
and this ship is massive.
I mean he showed me I never got to go on
I kind of remembered going on
but I asked him and he says no you never got on there.
Okay so it's all in my mind
I wanted to make sure before I share it
but I was on the decks looking at on the you know
(07:01):
the pier like staring at this humongous
and you know this thing is 1123 feet long.
If you stood it up on its stern
it would be only like 120 feet
shorter than the Empire State Building.
Think about that.
Imagine the Empire State Building floating on the ocean
I mean that's how huge this thing is.
(07:24):
It was the first nuclear vessel in the world
the USS Enterprise.
I remember when my brother shared when Tom Cruise
filmed the first Top Gun remember that movie?
That was on this ship okay on the USS Enterprise.
None of the crew which there's about 4600 in the crew
were allowed up on the decks of course
(07:45):
while Tom Cruise was filming his Top Gun film
but like it has a lot of history
and the fact that it was the largest ship ever constructed
I mean this ship is impressive
and yet now it's been mothballed.
It's been decommissioned.
(08:05):
It's no longer in use.
In fact they've taken all the things out of it
so that they couldn't even put it in the ocean
and run it again if they wanted to.
As I'm thinking about wow something so big
so impressive is suddenly now obsolete you know
and yet we can look at the law and the old covenant
(08:28):
which we're going to get into in a second
what that's all about
but we can look at that and see that was so instructive.
That was so amazing because you know the law is the tutor.
Did you ever read that in Galatians?
How the law is the tutor that guided everyone
in Galatians 3, 24, 25 that guided everyone to Jesus Christ.
(08:50):
There's benefits in religion as long as it's leading you to the Savior.
The problem sometimes is that religion becomes the Savior.
Do you know what I'm saying?
If you've ever been in religion they guide
but instead now they want you to like fulfill
all these requirements that they have placed
(09:12):
and it doesn't lead you to God right and that's what religion is
and that's it's not a relationship with a God
it's hurdles and an obstacle course is what it is right
and so the law is good and yet now it's obsolete.
We just read you know as I was thinking about things
that are obsolete there's some things
(09:33):
that just should be obsolete right in this world.
I was thinking about different things
like way back wearing the beeper being in business
have you guys ever some kids are like a beeper
what are you talking about?
We used to actually have to wear a beeper for business
you'd get a beep and you have to go find a payphone
to actually call back and you guys are like you're kidding me
(09:56):
but yeah that's no and then we had the bag phone.
Anybody remember a bag phone okay?
I mean those things I remember getting a bill one time
for $700 for one month for that stupid bag phone
because it was new everything was expensive you know
but now we have our mobile phones our smartphones
that do absolutely everything so things became obsolete
(10:19):
and it's a good thing I remember again a lot
because I think in terms of business
I remember the the thermal fax paper
do you remember that that you'd like roll it in there
and it would be going through
you remember that anybody know what I'm talking about
but again now everything's PDFs everything's emailed
(10:40):
all electronic how about filing again in my company
we had a wall of file cabinets okay
because we had to keep loans for about I forget
like seven years or something and then we had other file cabinets
for older files somewhere else piles of file cabinets right
(11:01):
for all this paper and now it's in the cloud
it's like it's nowhere there's no file cabinets anymore
so there's some things that are good the fact
that they're obsolete in the favor of something better
how about paying bills you know I remember
I always had a lot of bills and just two times a month
(11:23):
just putting all the statements there getting out all the you know stamps
and one by one writing checks oh no I'm out of checks you know
and just writing and sending them it was a real drag
but now auto pay now everything's Venmo cash app Zelle
I kind of like it I don't know about you but I kind of like it
(11:43):
and I know some of you're saying yeah but I'm afraid
they're gonna steal my money I guess it's a possibility
but but the convenience is good some things are better
being obsolete in the favor of good things right better things
like we just said a better covenant with better promises right
and that's what we are in a new covenant the problem is in this world
(12:11):
okay this world sometimes treats people as becoming obsolete
spouses I'm just kind of tired of this old relationship
I need to trade up I need to trade younger I need to trade different you know
(12:32):
or else an employer saying you know this employer mind they're they're obsolete
I gotta get a better one a newer one right I mean you know what I'm like
this is the the world that we live in when people are tired of you
they I'm done with you I'm through with you you know
and because of that a lot of us feel like we're on edge
(12:56):
our value is is determined by what people think about us
or how they label us or how they value us right
but with Christ he values us not because of
our value to him because he just loves us we don't have to do anything for him
(13:18):
to value us that's the new covenant he died for the sins of the world
that means for everyone now you have to receive that gift that's the thing
and that's that's the that's the obstacle because it's a narrow
gate that goes through and he is the way the truth the life like we're just
(13:41):
singing right the way the truth the life he's the
only way through wide is the gate that leads to
destruction and many go through it but only few find
that narrow way Jesus Christ but he did it for the world
so he's saying all can come in but only few choose to
(14:03):
and I still scratch my head and say why why would you ever refuse to enter
through and it's a it's a lack of faith but see
the Lord doesn't see us that way he does not see anyone as obsolete
or past their prime or not worth saving he already paid for them
(14:25):
they just don't know it yet remember the criminal on the cross
what did he have to offer except rebuke his friend on the other side of
Jesus and say what are you saying we deserve this he doesn't
that's all he can only muster up a couple of words to his other criminal
friend but the Lord said today you will be
with me in paradise see he doesn't see us the way we may
(14:46):
even value ourselves right we're never going to be
obsolete to him because we're in the new
covenant he's seeing with us that he has an eternity with us
forever you know the soul lives forever you know this tent will become obsolete
you know in fact every year i know it more and more okay
(15:08):
this tent is becoming obsolete you know i'm like what is happening
you know suddenly pain is places it never was before and
you know what it's like not you young people don't but you will
someday but your soul is eternal it's never obsolete and the Lord wants that
soul with him forever amen you know so we're in a new covenant and
(15:33):
i was thinking you know the covenants okay what does the word covenant mean
okay and then we have a slide up here and you know it's funny i put the greek
word and i always know how it's pronounced but by the time i look at it
up there i'm like why even bother but that's the greek word okay diaficae
um but it's a promise okay as you would think it is it's a promise
(15:54):
it's an arrangement or it's an agreement between two people or more it's a
covenant it's like the marriage covenant you know it's an agreement
and in these covenants okay there's two kinds there's one that's
conditional or bilateral that means like two people
have to participate to make that covenant come to fruition so each has
(16:21):
to give something for it to go through okay it's a
bilateral conditional commitment or covenant and the other is an
unconditional or unilateral one that means only one person
is going to fulfill it doesn't matter what the other person does
you know and in a sense when Christ died for the sins of the world he died
(16:41):
for everyone but they still have to receive it
so maybe it's a blend of the two because he already did it
but if they don't receive it then they can't have it so we have the
the covenants in the bible just uh the primary ones if you could put that
next slide up to go through them we have covenant of
(17:04):
works or the edenic or adamic uh covenant and that's of course with
adam and eve in the garden and he's going to bless them you can eat from
any tree you know only tend the garden it's
you know it's easy peasy okay i already did it all you just have to
tend the garden but if you eat the tree of knowledge of good and evil
(17:27):
you will die and of course he met spiritually and eventually
physically right so what would you say is that
bilateral or unilateral covenant little test
see if you guys are paying it's what do you think
it's it's it's it's conditional isn't it
you know as long as you don't eat that tree
(17:47):
you're good but once you do you're not and that's that's the
that's the example the next is a noah noahic
covenant went after the flood on the earth
and he made a promise to noah and he said no longer will i curse the ground
as a result of what adam and eve did but also i will never flood the earth
(18:11):
again it didn't matter what noah did it's
what God was going to do so that's a unilateral right it's a
unconditional he's just going to do it the next abrahamic covenant
he made a promise to abraham three things he will make he will
give him many descendants imagine how abraham abraham at the time is
(18:31):
wondering like i don't even have any kids yet how can you see how many
descendants right but he will have many descendants in
other words a holy nation right you will have land and then the
final thing you will have is you will be a blessing to all nations and of
course that happened because Christ came through
through that and the next thing we have is the mosaic
(18:53):
covenant or the sinai covenant and this is
really what we are talking about in this scripture here
because this is the old covenant the old law and it's here that that God
says you know if you do this then i will do that
okay you know you'll be blessed if you obey you'll be cursed if you don't
(19:18):
okay that's another bilateral or conditional and then the final one is
the davidic covenant and that is he told david i will bring
a ruler through your seed that will rule on
earth forever and of course that's unilateral it's
unconditional because that's Jesus Christ right he is the king of kings and
Lord of Lords so that's just kind of a for memory
(19:40):
lain's sake that's what a covenant is and those are the covenants primary
covenants in the bible but as we could see in
exodus 19 five and six is God spoke to
to moses and he said now therefore if you will
if if you will indeed obey my voice and keep my covenant
(20:02):
then you shall be a special treasure to me above all people
for all the earth is mine and you shall be to me a kingdom of priests and holy
nation these are the words which you shall
speak to the children of israel so it's the if
and the then that is the old covenant as long as you do what i say
(20:26):
then you can be my people well Christ changed all that because when
he died on the cross he said i will if you put your faith and trust in me
i will fulfill all these things through you it's not what you're going to do
it's what Christ has already done isn't that awesome
(20:49):
to think he's already done it for us amen amen you know this is the new
covenant in fact we when you think about it
the new covenant okay is about receiving by believing
right you believe you receive that's it okay
(21:09):
but the old covenant covenant is earning by serving you only earn
righteousness if you serve okay well Christ did away with all of
that because now we're in a new covenant and
what is the new covenant well you know we just read it
the new covenant okay and again we're in a better
(21:31):
covenant with better promises we're in the covenant of grace
but we just read what the new covenant is in hebrews 8 verse 10
if you can put that slide up thanks nicole
for this is the covenant says the Lord i will put
my laws in their mind and write them on their hearts and i will be their God
(21:54):
and they shall be my people he puts it into us like
without the Holy Spirit we don't want what God wants
we just don't we might say we do we might try to
we might be good for a little bit of time and then all of a sudden the old
(22:15):
lust the old carnal nature the old sin nature
just kicks in and then we're right back to the same old stuff
right because we have no ability in ourselves
to save ourselves it's only what Christ puts
in us i love the verse mike hayes by the way if
you guys who didn't come out to the men's breakfast you missed a good one
(22:38):
but one verse that mike hayes brought up is he said
that uh if you delight yourself in the Lord he will give you the desires
of your heart you know when you come to Christ you receive the Holy Spirit
he downloads his desires into you you suddenly have new desires
(22:58):
and you also start to have hatred towards the old sin that you used to
engage in right i mean i'm sure you've experienced it
the things like man that is so sick like i'm just so shameful about like
those things because it's just not who i am anymore
i'm a new creation right i'm born again i don't have the
(23:20):
old nature anymore again we can start to fall back into it
but we know this is not who i am this is this is the old me it's not the
new me you know it's so important for us to realize that
he does it all when we come to him he's the one who comes alive in us i love
(23:42):
second peter chapter one this is probably one of my favorite
set of verses when i first got saved right and i was reading you're a new
creation i'm like yeah but am i really you know because
when i first prayed the prayer of salvation you know roman's 10 9 10 i'm
like you know i i gave my life to the Lord
and i told jill we left that conference and i got in the car and i said this
(24:06):
is bogus i i did i said i'm the same as i
walked into that place like nothing new happened
and it was a long road the next year of just wrestling with God i was like
jacob on the other side of the little brook like wrestling trying to like
prove myself worthy to be saved to God like
(24:31):
it can't be that easy i'm not any different
and it's finally when i just surrendered to God i was balling my
eyes out the Holy Spirit just came in like a wrecking ball
and just blew away all my pride all my confidence he just like he just
really stripped it all away and says you are saved now will you just
(24:53):
trust me will you believe and receive and stop
stop trying to serve and earn right and i finally just surrendered and man i
was mush i was just mush you know for days i
could just cry on the drop of the hat you know i
joe and i were just talking about that hell when you're
(25:14):
when the spirit's marinating your heart you know he's just massaging you he's
like he's just like he's breaking down all
the callousness the hardness of your heart
and you're just getting marinated in that Holy Spirit can you relate to
this at all when the Holy Spirit's just like will
you just stop fighting will you just surrender and your heart
(25:36):
is becoming more and more pliable more and more relaxed more and
more like look you got it all in control Lord
like you saved me i don't know why but you did
this is what you got and it's amazing it's just like
it's you can you can cry so easily you could just
you could just just love so much more because what he's already done in you
(25:59):
amen so when i read this scripture i'm just
like yes yes like this is the truth right here
his divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life
and Godliness through the knowledge of him who called
us to his his own glory and excellence by which he has granted to us
(26:23):
his precious and very great promises so that through them you may become
partakers now that's the key words right there
partakers of the divine nature do you realize you have a new DNA
divine nature always when you come to Christ you have a new DNA i'll bet you
(26:45):
if they had the right uh instruments they could test a believer
against an unbeliever and they would see our brains are different
our blood is different ourselves are different i believe it
because we are new creations we have a divine nature i mean that's amazing
isn't it having escaped from the old corruption
(27:06):
that is in the world because of sinful desires see he does it all
he imputes it into us that's the new covenant he paid the price his blood has
washed us clean and now it's just a matter of him imputing
his righteousness into us and we just receive it
(27:26):
that's a wonderful new covenant isn't it it's a better covenant it's the best
covenant with the best promises amen amen you know covenant
also means like a testament you ever hear a will and testament you know so when
you die you leave your stuff okay for people and
(27:49):
we know that the bible talks quite often about us having an inheritance
well Christ had to die to leave his inheritance to us
isn't that interesting like you know you can't receive an inheritance from
someone if they don't die first okay and so he died on the cross
(28:09):
and now we're related to him so we inherit things
in heaven and he did this when he died on the cross
he gave us an inheritance that we can now obtain amen and this is a new will
and testament so what does that matter i just want to read this one
um first peter one four if you have that verse it says to an
(28:33):
inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away
reserved in heaven for you who are kept by the power of God
through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time so there's
an inheritance laid up for each one of us now if
(28:56):
you're like me i don't really dwell too much on that
because i can't get my brain around it like oh there's something up there it's
gonna be great okay and i don't mean to make light of
it it just doesn't resonate in my earthly vessel i just can't
comprehend that right but i was reminded you know my mom
(29:16):
my father died in a car accident when i was 20
and it was it was really it was so like miraculous because you know they
never made much money you know they're kind of i guess you'd say
middle lower to middle class and they never had much you know
and so but my father happened to take uh this extra little clause in his
(29:40):
insurance policy life insurance policy against
accidental death and dismemberment maybe i'm telling you too many things
anyway don't tell anybody i don't know why not but
but anyway it was an accident and and because of this there was more money
given to my mom so she said she wasn't rich she just had more money
so she had some extra money that she could actually take care of herself as
(30:01):
a widow and she lived never married again for
decades and decades after that and and in the beginning you know she was
frifty because she had that you know that money had to last her the rest of
her life but as she was getting on in age she
was more and more generous because she realized you know i can't take this
with me and it's going to get taxed and
(30:22):
everything i might as well start dispersing it
now and be generous you know and i was thinking how does that relate to
God and this inheritance you know and you know you ever hear of a
living trust well you know Christ is living now
right you see it the right hand of the father
and he's alive but we live on a living trust
(30:44):
i i know a guy who is i guess you'd call it a trust fund baby you ever hear
them and i i can't relate at all okay
but he never worked i mean he might have had a job for fun as a kid
but you know what the fun he's a born again believer an amazing guy he's he
he donates his time in missions and the church he's always doing things for God
(31:09):
the most jolly guy you'll ever meet right but he never had to work i'm
thinking i don't know if i'd even like that
but you know i i'm just so used to struggling i
don't know about you but i like the game the work ethic you know but he never had
to and i'm just thinking like wow imagine what that would be like
just having that trust fund well you know with Christ we're all living on a
(31:30):
trust fund because not only do we have an
inheritance laid up for us in heaven someday
but he wants to download those gifts now while we need them he's not
he's not saying you'll get all this stuff when you get to heaven no he's
saying tap into it now tap into it now start using these
(31:51):
gifts of the Holy Spirit now start spreading my word
now enjoy your inheritance here while you're on earth
because we need it now right this world needs to see a demonstration of the
power of Jesus Christ and if we're living
thrifty in terms of our inheritance the Lord's that the world is not going to
(32:13):
see the richness of his glory right you know he's a he's a rich God
he owns the cattle on a thousand hills i mean he is
wealthy and he wants to dote on you he wants you to tap in to that covenant
now and use it while you need it amen as the worship team comes forward
(32:38):
the Lord gave me these couple of verses
from paul and um you know paul's life is just so
uh an intense life you know i mean he he once he became a believer you know he
really suffered so much and yet he wouldn't
(33:00):
have traded it for anything you know he wouldn't have traded for
because you realize you know i am being poured out as a living
sacrifice on behalf of Christ it was so rewarding to him
and he but he really suffered a great deal
and his last writing that he ever wrote was to timothy in the second letter of
(33:20):
timothy and he said these words he said you
know this is a trustworthy statement if we die
with Christ we will live with him so think about that you know
when we give our lives to Jesus Christ we actually die with him
and i know that doesn't make any logical sense but it's a reality
(33:44):
and i don't know if you've ever that's why he also says you know those who want to
find their lives will actually lose their lives
but if you want to if you lose your life you'll actually find it
in me and maybe today you're here and you've never actually
died with Christ you would also sit next
paul said to timothy and if we endure we will also reign with him
(34:10):
we will reign with him it means like we will we will carry his glory wherever we
go and demonstrate his kingdom in this
world right now he says something a little
troubling but if you deny me i will deny you to my father and that's
but that's for those who never died with him
(34:30):
but then he says one other thing he says but if we are
faithless he is faithful he will never deny himself
that's almost like a paradox it's like a riddle
when you when you read that and yet what he's saying is really
that there's times that maybe we can not
(34:53):
have much of our own faith and maybe what we feel like we're doubting a ton
and we're not really sure we haven't really given our lives to Jesus
or if we did we're not seeing the benefits of it or the result of it
you know like much like me the first year
but the Lord says commit to me just guy with me give your life to me
(35:20):
and you will actually find your life in me
and whenever you're struggling in doubt whenever you feel
faithless trust in my faith your faith is an
interesting thing everyone has been given a measure of
faith that means everyone has the capacity to believe i believe that
(35:42):
i don't believe we're created some for salvation and others for damnation
i don't believe that right i believe everyone has a measure of faith and has
the potential to believe in Jesus Christ we can we can
observe and everyone can interpret things that they haven't actually seen
that's faith right but then faith is even more than
(36:05):
that because when you exercise that faith
in Jesus Christ suddenly he pours a spiritual faith into you
that is far more than yours it's from faith to faith
you suddenly have a measure of faith that you never had before
and i praise the Lord i'm in that measure of faith for the last 30 years
(36:29):
i don't rest in my own faith i rest in Christ's faith
because he's faithful and and his faith is what carries me through life
i don't wonder whether there's Jesus Christ i feel him
alive in me i trust in his faith his faith is what keeps me
(36:49):
his faith does and maybe you're here today you're saying well
i need that faith i need Christ faith i need to tap into that Holy Spirit faith
talked about in second uh second corinthians one
corinthians chapter 12 i want that faith for me because i don't
have enough of my own well the Lord says just come to me
(37:12):
come to me die with me so that you could truly live
with me and i will give you my faith my Holy Spirit faith to believe even
more i'm telling you when you're on that train
of like that Holy Spirit faith you don't worry anymore
about whether i still believe i used to get up every morning that first year and
(37:35):
get up in the morning i still believe this
and then the second year i'm thinking why am i even asking anymore
of course i do and then you see the evidence of your faith faith is the thing
hoped for and the evidence of things not seen that means
when you trust God you will see the evidence
of your faith i can look back now 32 years
(37:56):
and see this wake of evidence of my faith that no one can disprove what
through me because it's evident i can just see it i'm like wow
who could ever refute this that's going to be you
that's going to be you when you just say Lord i need your faith today
Lord i just want to die right now and i want to receive
(38:19):
from you and i want to just offer this today if you've never done this
you've never given your life because if we die with Christ
we will also live in him if you want to live
in Christ today's the day just just surrender
now you don't have to raise your hand if you don't want to
but i just want to pray with you now why don't we all close our eyes
(38:42):
and bow our heads
Holy Spirit we ask you to come right now
we ask your Holy Spirit to come Lord and just anoint
every one of us but especially the person right now
who is consider giving them their lives to you right now Lord
i ask your Holy Spirit to come upon them and just
(39:05):
weigh heavily on them right now
and just fill them Lord with confidence to surrender their life to you
Holy Spirit we just ask you to come in like a rushing wind
(39:27):
if you want to pray this prayer with me
it's just something like this father God i am a sinner
and i need your son Jesus Christ to save me
today i want to receive that gift that Christ paid on the cross for me
(39:48):
i want to receive that holy precious blood
to wash away my sins today i want to receive forgiveness of all of my sins
past present and future today i want to die with you so i can rise
again today i give you my life to receive yours
(40:12):
father God fill me with your Holy Spirit
in Jesus name amen amen i believe someone did that today
i don't know who you are you don't have to raise your hand unless you want to
we'll be celebrating with you but if you'd like to talk more about it come on up
(40:32):
afterwards but why don't we all stand up
we're in some peculiar times right now aren't we
(40:53):
there seems to be a revival happening but you know the enemy can get in there
too he can do anything you know if if we allow him
and there's people that are moving towards Christ and yet the enemy
wants to stop them or interrupt them or have them follow
(41:15):
something else or someone else and so we need to really
pray for wisdom during these times so let's pray father God give us the
sermon and wisdom during these times Lord God we want to
be your ambassadors your messengers your delegates
(41:36):
for a kingdom that is on earth as it is in heaven
so Lord give us power and authority in this world
that even the demonic is just afraid to even come near us
because of the power and the authority that you have put upon
us because greater are we in this world than the antiChrist that is in this
(41:59):
world Lord thank you that you've clothed us
with righteousness you've clothed us with Jesus Christ
with glory from above and we love you in Jesus name
amen let's give the Lord a round of applause praise God
(42:24):
thanks for joining us at Lansdale life church as we praise God
and discuss his word don't forget to join us for worship live
