La capitation est une nouvelle façon d’organiser les soins de première ligne. Ce mode de rémunération fait l’objet de négociations entre le ministère de la santé et la FMOQ depuis quelques temps. Plusieurs provinces comme l’Ontario, l’Alberta ou la Nouvelle-Écosse utilisent déjà ce modèle ou ont implanté des projets pilotes pour tester la capitation. Au Québec, il existe encore peu d’informations sur les modalités ou la manière dont pourrait être implantée la capitation. Tout ce que nous savons, c’est que ce modèle de rémunération risque de faire son entrée dans la province par l’entremise de projets pilotes d’ici quelques années.
