De l’US Mont-Givray au sommet olympique, l’histoire de Dominique Bijotat ressemble à un voyage initiatique. Né dans une grande fratrie du Berry où tout le monde tapait dans le ballon, il quitte son cocon à seulement 15 ans pour rejoindre le Centre de Formation de l’AS Monaco. Les débuts sont rudes, mais la suite sera une ascension méthodique, façonnée par l’œil visionnaire de Gérard Banide et partagée avec une génération dorée : Amoros, Bellone, Puel.
Champion de France 1982, triple vainqueur de la Coupe de France (selon la manière de compter…), il s’impose comme l’un des joueurs les plus soyeux et sous-estimés de son époque. Mais c’est à Los Angeles, lors des Jeux Olympiques de 1984, qu’il touche son sommet : un but splendide en demi-finale, un match référence contre la Yougoslavie, une finale dominée face au Brésil de Dunga, et cette sensation unique que “tout lui souriait”. L’or olympique vient couronner un talent fait de lucidité, d’humilité et d’intelligence de jeu.
Avec la distance des anciens, Dominique Bijotat revient sur son parcours, ses influences (Cruyff, Platini), son amour indéfectible pour Monaco, la magie de la génération 82, la patte des grands coachs… et quelques anecdotes délicieuses, de Rolland Courbis à l’Italie qui lui faisait les yeux doux après les JO.

The Brothers Ortiz
The Brothers Ortiz is the story of two brothers–both successful, but in very different ways.
