We met Jim Saunders through a mutual friend a few years ago and have developed a great friendship since. Seeing Jim's passion for building a strong team at MurCal while tirelessly working to advance the entire PowerGen industry as a whole is nothing short of amazing.
Jim Saunders is the Vice President/General Manager of MurCal in Palmdale, CA. MurCal is a prominent provider of engine, pump, and genset controls, as well as emission compliance solutions for industrial applications. The company represents a diverse portfolio of manufacturers, including Murphy by Enovation Controls, FW Murphy Production Controls, Johnson Matthey, Trombetta, Denso, SENS, CRE, Hewitt Industries, Mobile Control Systems, and Intellispark.
In addition to his role at MurCal, Jim serves as Treasurer of the Electrical Generating Systems Association and is a board member with Palmer Johnson Enterprises and NexGen Power, LLC. Previously, he spent 11 years at Enovation Controls, culminating in the role of Vice President of Sales and Marketing for displays and power controls. He brings over 25 years of experience to his current position, with a proven track record in developing global strategies and driving sales and marketing initiatives. Jim has extensive experience managing relationships with key customer segments, including engine manufacturers, OEMs, packagers, and distributors.
Prior to his tenure at Enovation Controls, Jim was Sales Manager at Waukesha Engine, a major global industrial engine manufacturer (now part of INNIO) specializing in natural gas fueled engines for compression applications in the natural gas industry. He also gained valuable sales experience at Deutz and Milton Caterpillar before joining Waukesha.
Jim holds an MBA from LeTourneau University and is an FAA-certified Airframe and Powerplant technician, as well as a certified Caterpillar technician.
