(00:00):
Hello.
Hello, and welcome to Leap to Success podcast.
I am so excited to introduce you to our guesttoday.
I have worked with her and, have had amazingresults, and she's I've been spend I've spent
some time with her, and she's just one of thosewarm hug kind of people that whenever you spend

(00:25):
time with Heather, you feel like you've justbeen hugged.
So welcome to the leap to success podcast,Heather.
And I am excited to jump in and and share youwith our listeners today.
So tell our listeners a little bit about yourstory and what makes you so awesome.
Oh my goodness, Mary.
First of all, thank you so much for having me.

(00:46):
I love, love, love our LEAP community, and it'ssuch an honor and pleasure to be here and be of
service and and share a little bit about whatmakes me so awesome.
Yes.
Big picture, you know, I come one of the thingsthat my parents, who are also both PhDs, when I
was younger, they shared with me, Heather, theone thing that no one can ever take away from

(01:11):
you is education.
Nice.
Because but it's interesting because they weresharing it from this place of trauma and
survival and thriving.
So I grew up in an awesome country, and theywere also entrepreneurs.
I have a lineage of entrepreneurship in myfamily.
It's, like, runs in my DNA.

(01:31):
Yes.
But it was interesting because if you would'veasked me, like, ten years ago, how was your
childhood?
I would've been like, oh, great.
Yeah.
But then when I became an entrepreneur, Istarted stepping into this journey of the
unknown.
I recognized that, oh my goodness.
There's some not so great things that havehappened there that has caused some of the

(01:53):
chaos in my life.
And I'm like, oh, I wanna change that.
You know?
So I was always good at working and makingmoney in my career.
I was not that great in relationships, and Icouldn't understand why until I figured out
what were those significant emotional eventsthat actually got in the way that I didn't even

(02:15):
know about that was causing me to feel or toattract situations and circumstances even in my
career as, like, attacking, like, havinghorrible bosses or having people just hate my
light, you know, as compared to just loving mefor me.
Right?
This could probably connect to some people.

(02:37):
So my background is actually in IT.
So that part about learning as much as I could.
I recognize that I got my PhD at 27.
Nice.
28, I got my dream job.
Thank you.
28, I got my, quote, unquote, dream job workingfor the army as a researcher, and it was a
permanent six figure position.

(02:58):
It was almost like this beautiful coastingsuccess or could have had that.
But have you ever, like, reached the epitome ofsuccess, quote, unquote, externally?
But internally, there was just so much sadness,so much depression, so much misery, so much
uncertainty, so much unworthiness and worthworthlessness.

(03:20):
And I would attract situations that actually, confirmed and validated that.
Yes.
And so when I stepped into entrepreneurship, our your business is an extension of all that
you are.
So how you go is how the business goes.
So those feelings of not just stepping intoentrepreneurship, but stepping into motherhood.

(03:42):
Figuring out marriage life.
Right?
Like, so so these all these other many roles,it does not serve us.
It doesn't serve me to stay or to have thesefeelings still happening because it would limit
my success.
So what makes me so awesome is that I'velearned how to master master overwhelm,

(04:03):
overcome overwhelm, defeat doubt, and igniteconfidence, and really own my value and worth
and really step into my inner light and allowthat to shine so much so that, you know, it's
it's not really necessarily about doing.
It's about being and enjoying and bringing backthe passion and the per and our purpose and

(04:26):
letting that lead to prosperity.
So I share a little bit about this because, one, you don't have to have a great past to
have a great future.
You get to recreate and restore yourself eachand every day.
And number two is that oh my goodness.
That was so good.
Okay.
That one.

(04:46):
But the other one is
You know, just stop and soak in yourbrilliance.
You don't have to have a great past to haveyour great future.
That is worth pausing for because that's such apowerful statement.
It really is.
And for those people who didn't have such agreat past, or for those of us who had a great
past and then we dig in and we're like, well, there were some things there, right, that maybe

(05:10):
aren't helping me so much anymore.
But that is just such a brilliant statement.
And I know we're gonna get into the work thatyou get to do with clients, and that's part of
your brilliance too.
But I think that really that really does tieinto how you show up as an entrepreneur right
now because you help people if they haven't hadsuch a great past to just really release all

(05:35):
that and be able to start with a fresh future.
Right?
They get to control that, right, which is soit's so fun.
And I I'm just like, oh, get to the good part.
Get to the good part because I know Thank youso much, Heather.
And I just think she's amazing.
So I don't know if you were done with yourstory or if you thought
No.
No.
I just want share.

(05:55):
Was.
Yeah.
Well, the second point.
So I I forgot so that part about, yes, youdon't have to have a great past.
But the you know, it was always one of thosethings, like, I feel like my life was a little
bit harder.
Like, why?
This is not normal.
Right?
This is not normal.
But here's the beautiful thing that I learnedis the more stuff you go through as you grow
through it, the bigger your calling is, whichmakes a more impact.

(06:18):
It's like if we if we had never have gonethrough anything, how could we relate and
connect to people who may be going throughstuff?
So the things that we go through that we gothrough where we may have said, why me?
Why me?
You learn as you step into your purpose andyour evolution.
Oh, man.
Why not me?

(06:38):
Okay.
Cool.
And as you heal it and you make it light, you're able to share it from this place of
empowerment, even the heaviest of storiesbecause there's so many people out there who
may not have the resilience, resilience, thetenacity, the wisdom, the understanding as you.
And that's what I learned about me.
So that's what makes me so awesome because I'mI'm like, we don't we can go through and

(07:02):
release all the unconscious stuff that's in ourmind, in our body, in our heart that no longer
serves us in this moment in time.
I mean, it worked well when I was working forsomeone else.
Right?
I could stay in that safety net.
Right?
Yeah.
But in entrepreneurship, anything less than a100% confidence and congruence and full belief

(07:24):
in yourself and your ability to facilitatechange or your ability to be of best service,
it actually deserves other people.
Yes.
So I'm like, yeah.
No.
I so that feels good.
It's like I now know who I am.
I can enjoy where I'm going.
I don't have to fight.
I don't have to justify Mhmm.

(07:45):
About who I am or what I'm this is me.
It's like WYSIWYGUM is the term that we use incomputers.
It stands for what you see is what you get andmore.
Oh, nice.
Nice.
I love it.
I love it.
As you can tell, just from the first five orten minutes that we've talked, I mean, Heather
is just an amazing amazing resource, and I lovethat you shared your story.

(08:10):
There were a couple of things that you saidthat I just wanted to go back and touch on.
When you said you go through things or you growthrough things.
Right?
That's another important little mindset shiftswhen we can talk about why is this happening to
me?
I have to go through all this stuff.
But if you shift that to I'm growing throughall of this stuff, it can really shift how you

(08:32):
how you perceive whatever your situation is,right, which is which is such a cool trick.
These little shifts can make such a bigdifference in our overall outlook.
Right?
Correct.
Correct.
With that, I just wanna share that that beliefthat you have so our thoughts have energy, our

(08:54):
emotions have energy, our feelings have energy.
If there's frustration, we wanna transform thatinto gratitude because everything is happening
for you, not against you.
Right?
So how can you use that to be able to, alright.
Cool.
Well, you know, to it's almost like steppinginto that intrinsic superpower.

(09:16):
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
I love it.
I love it.
So as you mentioned, you've had steps alongyour way on your entrepreneurial journey.
Right?
Your family has got this entrepreneurial legacyfor you to carry on, and you went and got this
job and then realized maybe that's not theright thing for you, and and now you have your

(09:37):
own business.
And so kind of how did you make that leap fromyou know, you said you got your dream job, but
you're still feeling unfulfilled on the inside.
And I think that happens to so many of us.
We, you know, start out younger in our careers, and we're like, this is the path I'm gonna
take.

(09:57):
And when we get to whatever that pinnacle is,it's you know, you might have the title, you
might have the money, all of those kind ofthings, but you're still feeling like this is
not fulfilling for me.
It's it's not I'm not feeling whole here.
Right?
So tell us about taking that leap, and how didyou kind of overcome the doubt or the fear

(10:22):
because a lot of people might be in thatsituation right now.
Such a great question.
And I wanna also caveat this by letting youknow that my parents, even though they were
entrepreneurs, they were also, like, dead seton you need to have a full time job.
So they wanted
to do both ends.
And so they thought I was crazy.
Entrepreneurs, but don't do it.
Right?
They

(10:44):
thought I crazy.
Like, what the heck are you doing?
You only got twenty four years, and I'm like, dad, I'll I'll be probably dead in a couple
years if I keep going like this.
Right.
It's because we've normalized stress so much inour society, and we're not supposed to operate
like that.
Whether we're in a career or whether we're inour own business.
So when I took that leap of faith, it was sofunny because even my coworkers like, Heather,

(11:08):
what are you doing?
Yeah.
But it was like, you know, you have this thisthis is why, you know, I talk about winning
your inner world to master your outer worldbecause there can be this conflict between your
heart and your head.
Yeah.
Right?
Your heart says one thing, your body saysanother, your your mind says another thing, and
it's all like Yeah.

(11:30):
But the the thing that the one of the biggestmessages that had came is that, you know,
especially when entrepreneurship is a calling, you can either hear the call for your life or
you can continue to endure the pain fightingagainst it.
And I did straddle that fence.
Straddling the fence only causes more pain.
But the reality of the situation is it was likewhere everyone is saying go this way.

(11:54):
God is saying go this way.
Mhmm.
And who am I gonna listen to?
Right.
Yeah.
I'm gonna listen to God because he's got thebigger picture of what's going And it did bring
up a lot of fear.
It did bring up so much fear.
It's about redefining fear.
So here's the funny part.
I went through even more fear than I think thenormal person.

(12:18):
Right?
Traumatized by the fear of those around me andmy environment, traumatized by my own internal
fear.
So it was like this great fear, and it was likea I think about a piece of paper.
I'm gonna take this piece of paper real quickbecause I know we only got so much time.
Piece of paper.
Okay.
So I was like, alright.
I'm ready to shine.
I'm ready to do this calling, and then I'llsegue to the circumstances of, no.

(12:42):
You can't do this.
I can't move.
I can't breathe.
And then I'm like, okay.
I get my resilience, and I'm like, I'm shiningagain.
Here we go.
And then it was like I felt like there was evenpeople in situations that wanted to just tear
me down.
No.
You gotta stay small.
You gotta stay small.
And then I learned the messages.
Why try to fit in when you're born to standout?

(13:02):
Right.
So I knew
I was meant to stand out.
And Pause.
Why try to fit in when you're born to standout?
Oh my gosh.
Brilliance.
Another mic drop moment.
I just wanted to pause and say that.
Sorry I didn't interrupt you, but
I think that's so good because That'simportant.
Yeah.
It is very important.
It is very thank you for sharing that becauseit's about I had to learn the journey of owning

(13:27):
my uniqueness and my value and my worthinesseven when other people around me don't see it,
hear it, or feel it, or have no idea.
It's an intrinsic job.
So this is about releasing and letting go ofother because fear is also contagious.
Right?
So our stress is contagious.

(13:48):
So you're around someone that's fearful andstressful.
It can un unconsciously get in you too.
So I wanna be able to break free from all fear, and it comes with redefining it.
Meaning so fear usually stands for forgeteverything and run.
Mhmm.
They yeah.
We've heard false evidence appearing real.
Mhmm.
And that's usually how I operate.

(14:08):
Oh my god.
This job is too crazy.
I gotta go.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Doing this shit was too crazy.
I gotta go.
Right?
But you wanna shift it to facing everything andrising.
Yeah.
Because that's the part about leaning it's liketo the when you avoid it, the fear becomes
louder and bigger.
When you lean into it and you get awareness ofwhat's going on and you're able to let go of

(14:34):
what you gotta let go of, then you can be ableto leap forward.
Meaning that it's facing everything and rising, and then you can get to the point where you can
feel everything and relax.
Where there is ease, grace, flow, breaking freefrom judgment, breaking free for having
forgiveness for self and other people.

(14:55):
Right?
It's about knowing who you are to enjoying thejourney.
And that requires healing the past, leaninginto one of those things that we don't even
really know unconsciously are having weight, letting go what we need to let go.
So therefore, we can be more in the present, live more in the present because I think where

(15:18):
the frustration comes I can't tell you how manytimes I hear, doctor Heather, this business
should have been off the ground by now.
Doctor Heather, this relationship situationshould have been resolved by now.
Where all of that is coming from, either you'reliving in the past, whereas these past patterns
that have come into play, or you're living inthe future and there's anxiety and uncertainty

(15:38):
of what in the world is happening, but thepower is in the present moment.
Yes.
And that's where your superpower is.
And then the vision for the future gets getsexpanded, and you get to just walk in it.
Okay.
Cool.
Yeah.
Are you gonna pivot, do something different?
But that part about bringing back the passionis that heart space.

(16:00):
So these things that we go through, you know, heart wounds create blind spots.
As we go through life and maybe there'ssignificant emotional visit, it can create a
wall around our heart.
I remember my heart was like a big oldfortress.
Nobody could get in.
Getting in here.
Yeah.
So different than how it is now.
Yeah.

(16:21):
No.
Now it's open.
Now it's it it loves to love and give love.
It loves to receive love.
There's a beautiful ebb and flow.
And then that allows me to be able to betterhold the space and be a supportive for even
people who have the heaviest hearts, the overmost overwhelmed emotions, who've gone through

(16:41):
the the greatest trauma, and support them fromshifting from where they are to where they want
to be and energetically making sure that thatthey get there in a beautiful way.
Yes.
That is so fulfilling.
Love it.
I love it.
And you can tell that you are in your gifts andin your passion.
Right?

(17:02):
You are showing up with your ability to helppeople using all the modalities that you have.
You have such some really cool stuff.
And and as I mentioned at the beginning, I'veworked with Heather, and, it's just amazing the
stuff that, you know, can come out that youaren't even aware that you are carrying around,

(17:25):
that you just need to release from the past sothat you can break three and free free and be
the person you are.
And I think that feel everything and relax, I'mgonna make that my new my new acronym for fear.
I love that.
Feel everything and relax.
Thank you.
Alright.
So I'm gonna ask this because many of ourlisteners might be kind of on the edge of

(17:51):
taking that leap.
Right?
Like, you mentioned that you sat on the fencefor a while.
We've all done that.
Like, should I stay or should I go?
Should I stay or should I go?
And we're listening to our head and our heartand our minds and the logic and the emotions
and our friends and family, and it just gets sonoisy.
Sometimes you get paralyzed.
Right?
So what kind of advice would you give to thoselisteners out there who are kind of straddling

(18:17):
that fence and are hearing all of these voicestell them different messages?
So how how can they how can you help them justwith a a piece of advice to get them off of
that fence?
So there was something that was coming as youwere talking.

(18:39):
Quiet the mind, quiet the heart, and the soulwill speak.
It's about really releasing all the noise Mhmm.
From other people, places, situations, andreally kinda getting clear on what God is
telling you and what you are telling you andmaking sure that there's alignment there.
Because and that's why I usually say it's allabout energy.

(19:01):
Energy, we understand even a bigger pictureYeah.
Of what we can fathom.
So it's, like, less thinking and more trusting.
Yeah.
In that question, it's about being able to havethe supportive environment.
You may feel, especially for those of it whoare in that thing of, oh, well, this is how I

(19:22):
am and I'm transitioning.
And a lot of people times people get used tohow you used to be.
Right.
It's about really being able to step into thesupport with and this is why I love the power
of coaching because support having thatsupport, that external accountability that
where the person or people, they know where youwanna go.

(19:42):
They have full belief and congruence that youcan be able to get there.
They can be able to hold the space as you'restepping into that next level.
It's something that's so powerful.
So much so that even, like, it's interestingwhere I wanna I wanna let you know too, let go

(20:03):
of how it was because there's this evolution.
There's an evolution of process.
Meaning that you're not the same person thatyou were a year ago, a day ago.
And so it's and your business evolves like ababy.
You know?
So it's not remember I mentioned that thechange and all this craziness didn't start
happening until I had these babies, and they'rechanging within the first first year.

(20:28):
And I'm like, oh my goodness.
So that evolution, the process, and embracingthat power of, hey.
Okay.
This is how it was yesterday.
This is how it is today.
Yeah.
There's that epiphany and awareness.
Like, for example, for me, Mary, I hadrecognized, you know, I've been teaching and
training for years.

(20:49):
Like, I'm and I start offering mycertifications.
But the epiphany and the awareness yesterdayhit me so well that people are looking for now
more of an experience to take the pressure off.
I'm so gifted and so great and so good atcoaching and being able to help people release
the mental and emotional blocks that aregetting in the way that's impacting their

(21:10):
health, that's impacting their Right.
Divine alignment and connection.
And God is calling me to do more of that.
Okay.
And I'm like,
oh, okay.
Cool.
Now you can immediate immediately, the spousecan go, why didn't you give me this at wisdom
sooner?
Right.
But
the thing is Or what does that mean?

(21:30):
Or exactly how do I do that?
Or what if people don't wanna do that with me?
Yeah.
Mind can take over.
Goes off.
It's like yeah.
And I was like, okay.
This is cool.
I get it.
I get it.
Everything happens in divine timing.
I was supposed to get that message fully.
And so I got it yesterday and I'm like, okay.
Yes.
I see.
Because with everything that's going on, peopleare already overwhelmed.

(21:54):
Whereas trainings can give people theexperience to take the pressure off.
They gotta be able to take the pressure offfirst.
So therefore, they can hear their wisdom, theiralignment, their uniqueness.
And and then it's like every then they can giveto other people from their overflow.
Mhmm.
It's another thing helping give from youroverflow, not from your depletion and

(22:14):
exhaustion.
Right?
Yes.
That helps people step into their ownempowerment as well as you.
So it's about becoming the key star player inyour game of business and life.
Yes.
I have a poster on my wall that says, why or bea mermaid in a sea of fish.

(22:38):
Right?
Because I love mermaids, so I love that too.
But, really, you know, we can be a mermaid in asea full of fish.
Right?
We can be the spectacular creature that we areand and own up to that and live into that.
Right?
I think that's just it's so powerful whatyou're saying, and I I highly encourage you to

(23:02):
reach out to Heather and just have a phone callwith her.
I already feel like three layers calmer just byhaving this this time with you on on Zoom
today.
We're getting ready to head to the airportright after this, so I was a little bit amped
up trying to wrap everything up.
And just just being in your presence, Heather, always just gives me such a sense of calm and

(23:26):
peace, and I just love it.
And now I get to go and have a have a funlittle mini vacation.
So what what
Thank you.
You mentioned kind of what's next for you, kindof this transition into to providing services a
little bit differently based on what people areneeding right now.
So any exciting projects or goals or thingsthat you have coming up that you wanna share

(23:49):
with our listeners?
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
So the one thing and it's interesting.
It's there was two things I wanna mention.
Okay.
The part of recognizing that Marian Wilkinson, and I quoted her in my power of coaching book.
Yeah.

(24:09):
She says that the greatest fear is not that weare inadequate.
The our greatest fear is that we are powerfulbeyond measure.
Yes.
It's interesting that a lot of the fear comesfrom the fear of our own greatness, the fear of
our own light, and it like, even maybe themagnitude of how the wave is or what would
happen if I actually do this.

(24:31):
How is this gonna impact other areas?
Right?
What happens if you don't do it?
The people that you're called to serve don'tget served the best way possible.
Right?
The the challenges that you have becomelighter.
Like, a 100% of challenges present challengeshave roots in the past.
This is why this work is so beautiful.
You figure out where the root cause, where thepattern comes from, you release it from there,

(24:54):
and then all of a sudden, everything kindashifts in the present, which is so funny.
Yes.
So what's coming up?
I wanna invite people to I'm doing a webinar, free class on overcoming overwhelm, defeating
doubt, and igniting confidence.
Love it.
And so so good.
I'm gonna share with you, like, the biggestmistakes that common that's for common that

(25:17):
entrepreneurs make in this whole issue ofcycles of overwhelm and what to do about it.
And that can be found in another levelliving.com/webinar.
So I'm doing that.
And then really is amplifying my businessbreakthrough journey.
So I invite you to come to a complimentaryfreedom call.

(25:39):
And in that, I'll help you identify whateverthis big unconscious success block is.
I can guarantee you it's not what you think itis.
100% good, no strength situation.
What's most important is that you get yourclarity for a lighter way forward.
And if I can identify a way to support you,I'll ask you for permission on what that looks
like.
But now is the time.

(26:00):

Yes.

I believe that when you (yes you) feel seen, heard and understood you’re able to deal with relationship struggles, work challenges and life’s ups and downs with more ease and grace. I interview experts, celebrities, thought leaders and athletes so that we can grow our mindset, build better habits and uncover a side of them we’ve never seen before. New episodes every Monday and Friday. Your support means the world to me and I don’t take it for granted — click the follow button and leave a review to help us spread the love with On Purpose. I can’t wait for you to listen to your first or 500th episode!
