(00:00):
Hello everyone!
Welcome to the Leap to Success podcast where wehighlight incredible women entrepreneurs who
are taking bold leaps in their business andlife.
I'm your host Mary Gahl and I believe thatsuccess is built through connection,
contribution, and celebration.
Each episode we bring you inspiring stories, expert insights, and actionable strategies to

(00:24):
help you grow and thrive as an entrepreneur.
Let's dive into today's conversation.
I am so honored to introduce you to StaceyWeber.
She is a transformative, intuitive coach, andshe uses those skills to help business owners
just really thrive.
So I can't wait to dive in with you today intoour conversation.

(00:46):
Stacy, tell our listeners kind of your storyand what makes you so awesome.
Well, and I think it's similar to yourbackground where you came from corporate,
right?
Yes.
Yes.
So I too did that.
I was in outside sales management and trainingfor about twenty five years.

(01:09):
Started as a very green outside sales rep, didn't know what I was doing.
I thought, I'm going make money, and it wasstraight commission.
So if anybody's done straight commission, youknow that you got to do it.
You got to do it.
Yes.
And
so little did I know like it was 20 cold callsa day.

(01:29):
So, I mean, if anybody says, oh my gosh, sales.
I'm like, I understand that and so.
Yeah.
From nothing to, you know, just building myconfidence and learning from really great
people.
I was so blessed that I had training because itis a skill.
It is a mindset.

(01:50):
There is so much to do when you're selling tohave that confidence walking in the door when
they don't know you, they don't know yourproduct, and how do you deliver that with
authenticity?
And so I moved up the ranks.
I oversaw at the very end of my corporatecareer two, three states, like 60 sales people,

(02:13):
six regional managers, and I really lovedhelping people grow.
Like, that was what was calling me and I Ilove.
However, at the end, my company got sold a fewtimes and I wasn't part of the process anymore.
I was like just toeing the line and I felt Ihad lost myself.
Honestly, I was like, who is Stacy anymore?

(02:35):
You know, I just didn't know.
And so I started to decide I'm gonna, you know, move out of this and start my own thing.
So what part of me was saying is like, I don'teven know how to make myself happy anymore.
So I decided to keep life coachingcertification while I was still there.
And I'll tell you that last year that I was atcorporate, I was the happiest I've ever been.

(02:59):
I made the most money.
I was like, oh my gosh, now I have the tools tohelp myself.
I can help other people that are feeling thesame way to take a leap, to do something, to
listen to the calling inside you that's sayingthere's more to be done.
That's when I started my company, True YouConsulting.

(03:20):
That's why I call it True You because I wantpeople to go, This is me.
Nobody else.
This is what's calling me to do in the world.
I love that.
People go to your LinkedIn, we'll have yourLinkedIn profile.
If you're listening, finish listening to theepisode.
But when you go to Tracy's LinkedIn, she hasthis quote on there that I just love this

(03:44):
quote.
So the key to reaching your full potential isknowing who you truly are.
Powerful.
So we are powerful and we call this leap tosuccess and every leap doesn't always end in
success.
But we have to take the leap to know if we'regoing to be successful or And some people never

(04:06):
take that leap.
They stay in that corporate situation like youmentioned, kind of after so many sales, you're
kind of just like a cog in the wheel and you'renot really doing the things you loved at one
point.
How can you talk to our listeners about reallygetting up the courage to discover who they are
and what kind of leap to take?

(04:29):
Well, when this happened to me, there waspeople saying, Oh, well, you can do this,
Stacey.
Keep doing the same thing.
In my heart, my heart was saying, I can't dothis the rest of my career.
I cannot stay in something where I'm stagnantand just with no growth.

(04:50):
I'm sure we felt that before where I was like,I'm not growing, I'm just dead inside.
To take a leap is like, listen, it's callingyou.
That calling, when you know it's something todo, it keeps calling you.
You want to listen to calling and it's gettingquiet.

(05:13):
Took time to think about what do I truly wantto do?
What's going to light me up?
What's going to make me want to get up in themorning and do that?
As an entrepreneur, know Mary, it's not justall woo woo.
Right.
Work that needs to be done but when it'ssomething that you're passionate about, that is
going to help people of of something ofservice, whatever it's a product or a service,

(05:37):
doesn't matter.
Something that you know will make a differencein people's lives.
Then that's when you know, Okay, this is inalignment with who I am and also serves others.
To me, that's what you want to really thinkabout.
Yes, and getting to love what you I talked tomy husband this morning and I said, What are

(05:59):
your plans for the day?
And he told me his plans.
He's like, How does your day look?
And I said, I'm going to be on Zoom all day.
My first client calls at eight, and then I'vegot networking, and then I've got another
client call, and then I've got anothernetworking, and then I've got three podcasts,
and then a coaching call.
And his eyes just bulge out.
He's like, oh my god.
That sounds miserable.
Was like, I am so excited.
I love everyone that I get to talk to today.

(06:21):
It's a full day on Zoom and coaching, but Ilove what I do.
And that makes such a difference.
They're long days, but they're fulfilling days.
And really being able to do something thatfulfills you and brings you joy is such a a
wish I could say it wasn't a rarity, but Ithink it is a rarity.

(06:41):
I think there's so many people out there doingwork that doesn't necessarily bring them joy.
That's why I'm so excited for people to learnmore about what you do and how you can help
them get to that point.
Because as a business coach I can help themwith the tactical things and what do they need
to be doing and there's some mindset stuff thatI work on but they really need people like you

(07:04):
to really help us understand what's happeningon the inside of us before we can do the
exterior build the business kind of tacticthings.
It's so funny, it's not by chance.
I always say conversations always go the rightway, where they go, I was just thinking about
that.
So this is what I've learned because I've gonethrough being a corporate and then starting my

(07:28):
own business, and that what comes outside, whatyou create outside starts in here.
If there are blocks or beliefs ordisappointments or failures that you continue
to bring into what you're doing next, you'restopping yourself.

(07:51):
There will be a stop gap.
So much of what I do is about the internalwork.
Let's think about how are you feeling inside.
Are you excited about life?
Was just talking to someone that just joined mefor a group program that I have and he just
couldn't see anything past the negative thatwas happening and when you see that like

(08:15):
everything is not working now.
Right.
Really, you have to go, what do I want Andreally look at the limitations you put on
yourself to not have, not not allowing yourselfto have what's going to light you up.
Yes.
They go, well, it's it's you know, well, don'thave enough money or I'm not in the place.

(08:35):
It's like, there is a way to step forward.
The path could be just one baby step and what Ifind is if you can get in alignment with the
feeling that you truly want to have, thatfeeling of joy or excitement or success, peace,
freedom.
You get into that now.
All of sudden, the pieces start comingtogether.

(08:55):
Resources like people like you.
Oh, you know, I need help with my business.
Oh my gosh, Mary.
Let me connect you to Mary, right?
Yeah.
That's when like connecting with people and andnetworking or whatever is so important because
once you can get in that alignment of who whatyou want to feel like, that's when it all, the

(09:16):
magic happens.
Yes.
Yeah and it will seem, coincidental or random.
It's like, oh I just had this conversation andnow I'm meeting this person and they need to
meet this person and I can connect them.
It's just amazing how when you are open toreceiving those experiences and the people that
come into your life, the knowledge, right?

(09:38):
Then it's just a no brainer to be able toprovide that connection to people.
I just did a podcast with Colleen Biggs, right?
That's how we know each other.
Stacy and I know each other through the Leapfor Ladies community.
And we talked a lot about your network is yournet worth, right?
Which is one of the big platforms that shespeaks about.

(10:00):
And it is so true, but if you're not inalignment with who you are and how you want to
show up authentically, then it's harder for youto see those amazing connections that are
popping up for you.
And to be able to connect to other people andgive to other people so that you can receive
when it's time for them to connect you tosomebody.

(10:20):
I just love the work you do because it's soimportant and so many of us get in our own way
all the time and we need people like you tohelp us just kind of wipe the lens clean so
that we can see clearly.
Or even just looking, let's look at this alittle differently because a big part of what I

(10:42):
do is I talk about, well, this, we look at ourlives as bad and good, right?
Yeah.
This was a bad experience.
This was a good experience but what if, what ifwe looked at every experience was for us?
Yes.
Yes.
How different would we view the world and viewother people's lives, all those things

(11:04):
differently and look at them, it's like, okay,so what is this trying to help me to do?
Like, I got I got fired before I jumped out ofcorporate.
Like, I didn't, I wanted to leave but I didn'twant to leave that way.
Right.
Right.
So, and a lot of people don't know that thatthat actually happened and but that's when I

(11:27):
went, okay, it's moving me forward.
It was time.
Right.
To go.
And and so like just in the last year, I gotdiagnosed with the autoimmune disease and I
could have gone, oh my gosh, why is thishappening?
And I was like, okay, there's a gift here.
There's something supposed to get from this.
And I'll tell you, it's been an it's been notan easy year, but it's been a transformational

(11:51):
year for me to really see things in a differentlight, to look at my life and my business
differently.
So, it would be in more alignment now thanbringing corporate.
See, I had brought that in and now.
Right.
I'm going to do this differently.
I hope that all makes sense what I just said.
It does.

(12:11):
Does.
It makes perfect sense.
And love that was a big shift for me when Ilearned that concept of what if life is not
happening to you, it's happening for you.
And it took me several years to really embracethat concept.
But once you do, then anything that happens, you can turn it into a positive spin.

(12:35):
And sometimes that gets a little annoying formy friends and family because I always can find
a positive in something and they just want tokind of complain about things or whatever.
So I allow a little of that, but then I'm like,Well, look, here's what the positive side could
be.
And they're just like rolling my eyes.
I'm thinking of my two daughters in their 20s.
They kind of roll their eyes at me sometimesbecause I'm always like, Well, look at it this

(12:58):
way, and let's shift that perspective.
But
I think there's so much negative informationcoming at us in the news and social media and
all these platforms.
So it's easy to buy into that, like, Oh, thisis a bad thing, or This is happening to you,
and you have no control over it.

(13:19):
And we may not have control of the situation,or like an autoimmune disease, you may not have
some control over that, but how you react to itis everything.
And so if you react to it like, what is thegift?
What's the lesson I can learn from thisstruggle?
It doesn't ease all of the struggle all thetime, but shifting it around can really make

(13:42):
such a big difference in how you move throughthat problem or that issue.
So it's such a powerful gift that you can giveto people when help them to understand that and
really live that in alignment with thatprinciple.
Yeah, it's a shift and it takes practicebecause we're such habitual beings.

(14:08):
We are made to be habitual.
Otherwise, we wouldn't be able to functionbecause think about all the things naturally
that our body does for us, the way we think, just automatically do it because that serves
us.
But what if we had to think of I have to brush,I have to pick up this pencil, I have to what

(14:29):
do I do?
Have to blink
my eyes, I have to take a breath, it's likeThat
also comes with our thoughts and our reactionsto things and so it takes time to like be able
to pause and go no I'm not going to react tothat because we're so inundated and like I

(14:51):
don't watch the news that much because eitherright now because you could just it could turn
you like that.
Yes, yes.
In fact that just happened to us.
We don't have the news on very often, but myhusband had the news on the other day, and
within ten minutes we found ourselves kind ofbickering at each other, and we just don't talk
to each other like that.

(15:11):
It was like, Let's turn the news off.
Even though it was just kind of on in thebackground, but it was affecting how we were
talking to each other and getting kind of hypedup about things that didn't really matter.
And I was like, Okay, turn the news off.
This is not good for us.
And so just that experiment again, noticingthat was really powerful for both of us.

(15:36):
It's like, Oh, that is a lot of negative energywe're allowing in our lives, and we don't need
to have that in our world right now.
So
right on.
So success, as you know, and I know right, andour listeners probably know, it isn't just
about business, right, and what's in your bankaccount.

(16:00):
I firmly believe that it's about joy andfulfillment as well.
So what is something that truly lights you upin the work that you get to do, Stacy?
I'm creating a new program right now that I'mgoing to launch here in about a month.

(16:22):
I've been also looking at, because in the lastthree years I kind of had a spiritual awakening
where I was like started working with angelsand doing angel guide readings for people.
I bring that into my regular coaching, my lifecoaching, and business coaching because it's
it's another dimension, a spirit.

(16:44):
Yeah.
Dimension of support and because that, I reallyshifted like my business and that that's one
thing I want tell the listeners if you are juststarting your business and you think,
well, this is the way it's going to be.
Right.
Probably going to change.
It's going to as you change, so does yourbusiness, right?
And so, you know, year, I've been going, whatam I wanting to do?

(17:05):
Like, what now is in alignment?
Because things the way I did before weren't andso, what I truly love is working with people in
this internal place to bring them more peaceand joy and happiness, and not only in their
business, but in their personal lives, theirrelationships.
I find I'm talking about people's closerelationships.

(17:29):
Because with everything going on outside, whatwe've been talking about is that can create
this turmoil too with family members and stufflike that.
I really give people the tools, I think, orperspective, help them look at different
perspectives to guide them to find their ownanswers but look at things from their highest

(17:52):
self.
Yeah.
And what I mean by that when you're yourhighest self, you're you look at how can we all
win.
Nice.
Yes.
How can I be happy in this?
Like, what would bring me joy today?
Like you were saying, like, looking at thingsin a different way, not just I gotta get this

(18:13):
done.
Right.
I just fix this.
Something's going on in my relationship but howcan we look at this person in your life that
you love?
How can you talk with them differently?
How can you lead with love and not like, well,I'm right.
Do you want to
be?
Right.
Or do you want to be happy?
You know what mean?

(18:34):
Yeah, exactly.
Because like, think about how relationshipsreally make a difference in our lives.
If our relationships are flowing, doesn'teverything flow in your life?
Yeah.
And so I find that work really lights me up tohelp people see their person that they love,
that you can have great conversations, that youcan have this loving conversation and come to

(18:58):
the middle.
Like you can You can have more joy, have arelationship with yourself.
How is your relationship with yourself?
Are you loving yourself?
Are you giving yourself grace when there's adisappointment when you worked really hard and
then you're so hard on yourself?
To say, I'm going to give myself grace today.
You know, maybe I'll just go for a walk thisafternoon.

(19:21):
Maybe I'm, you know, going to do something formyself to where you're going, you know what?
I love you.
Yeah.
And when you do that, that's when the energycomes back.
The joy comes back.
When you go, you know what?
It's okay.
Yeah.
Aren't we human?
Yes.
Yes.
We see ourselves as a superhuman like they cando all the list, you know the list goes on and

(19:46):
on.
They get it done.
No mistakes, no anything.
Yes,
But that's when things start flowing again.
That's when business starts working.
When you take care of yourself and you look atthings in a different perspective on how can I
make this the highest and best for everyone?

(20:07):
Yeah, I love it.
Love it.
Good.
Again listeners that are out there that aremaybe in the corporate job that are not feeling
fulfilled anymore in that role, or maybethey're going to be let go or downsized or

(20:29):
whatever.
If they're looking at what is their next step, what is the leap, if they're ready to take that
leap, what kind of advice would you give tothem to just really do some introspection and
be ready to take that leap?

(20:49):
I'm big on meditation.
Think taking that quiet time to really writedown like just take time just to breathe.
Breathe in your nose and out your mouth and gointo your heart.
Your soul what do I really want to do?
What's the deepest desire that I have here?

(21:12):
How do I feel?
What would bring me joy?
Write down it doesn't have to be in business,it can be just whatever.
What brings joy in general and what what's inmy heart that's calling me whether it's
starting my own business, doing a differenttype of business, you know, something new,

(21:32):
going back to school, any of those things andwriting that down and giving yourself time just
to digest that, look at it, and then say, what's one small step I could take?
Right.
Doesn't have to be the big leap right nowbecause I.
Right.
Got my life coaching certification.
I got my personal training license before Ileft.

(21:55):
Before I noticed.
And so you don't have to leap.
You can just take those baby steps to whereyou're going oh then you start feeling like
you're having making some progress.
Oh, This is kind of exciting.
You know what mean?
And then your life gets better.
Then you're happier because you are fulfillingsomething that's coming through you.
Yes.
Coming through you, soul feeling, that essenceof who you are.

(22:18):
Yeah, that's what I would say.
Baby steps.
Yes, I love it.
I love it.
So taking that quiet time to listen to whatyour soul is speaking to you and what's showing
up for you, what does bring you joy.
And I took a class in twenty fifteen aboutpinnacle productivity, which I now teach that

(22:39):
class, but we break time down into differentareas.
And one of them is personal time.
And I was like, well, personal times when I'mnot working or raising my kids or cooking
dinner or whatever.
They're like, no, personal time is timededicated to the things that bring you joy.
And I really had to stop and focus.
I was like, What brings me joy?
Obviously, my family brings me joy, but whatbrings Mary joy?

(23:03):
And I had to really spend some time thinkingand listening and being quiet about it and
saying, Okay, what brings me joy and how can Ibring more of that in my life?
So I love reading, but I also love community.
I started a book club and we've been togethernow eight years right in our neighborhood.
With reading books and discussing books, andthen I started my on the water networking.

(23:24):
I love being around water and on water.
And so paddle boarding was coming out.
And so, you know, this is our eighth season forthat too.
So, you know, I get to have conversations andbe around people and build communities, but
doing things that I love that bring me joy.
So it doesn't take a lot to start a book club, right?

(23:45):
I had to reach out to my neighbors.
And now we've just read some amazing books anddeepened our relationship in the neighborhood.
But had I not taken the time to take that classto ask myself that question, what brings me joy
and what's missing?
Like, how am I building joy into my lifepurposefully and intentionally, then I don't

(24:12):
know that I probably would have just gone onand gone on.
Right?
And so, but I think it's so important to takethat moment or those moments and that deep
concentration, listen to what brings you joy,and then give yourself permission.
That's another piece where we kind of holdourselves well, I can't really just form a book

(24:32):
club because who might want to do it?
Know, your head starts going down all thenegative like, what if people say no?
What if nobody wants to read a book with me?
And what if nobody wants to discuss it?
And what if we don't like the same kind ofbooks?
You know, there's all that kind of stuff thatcan go on in our heads.
So that kind of sometimes can prevent us fromtaking even that first baby step and reaching
out to somebody and saying, Hey, do you like toread?

(24:55):
Would you like to be in a book club?
But sometimes I think we get in our own waybecause we don't give ourselves permission to
say, this is going to make me happy, and Ideserve to be happy.
And so what kind of steps can I take to makemyself happy?
Right?
Yeah, no,
I love that.
And like

(25:17):
you said, it was not just business, it was whatand so you incorporated those things.
Yes, yeah.
And boom!
I love it!
And
the magic happens.
It makes me so happy to go paddle boardingevery Friday during the summers with people.
And for people that come the first time, they're just This is the best thing ever.

(25:39):
I'm doing this every week.
Because we get outside, we're in the water, weget some sunshine, and we get to have great
conversations with people.
So yes, it's business related, but it's alsojust community and connection, which brings me
joy.
So it's a win win win.
I love when you said that earlier aboutcreating those win win win situations for

(26:01):
ourselves and for others.
So how can we find something that brings us joybut also might bring other people joy?
And it falls in line with what's so neededright now in our world is that community,
unity, connection.
That's what keeps us all centered and groundedinstead of out of our head.

(26:24):
Yes,
So what's next for you, Stacie?
You mentioned a few things you have coming up,so exciting projects or goals that you're
working on?
Yeah, like I was saying, I love working withgroups and community and it's supportive.

(26:47):
Just did some kind of market, I just made somecalls to clients that have worked with me and
asked them what do you like about doing groupsand they just feel it's so supportive you feel
like you're not alone.
You get you know great ideas or you learn fromother people sharing right what they're

(27:07):
experiencing in their life.
So and I've done many groups and I've doneretreats and again that introspective work is
so powerful.
So I'm starting a group called Soul Time withStacy.
Love it, Love it.
It's your group.
It could be men and women, but it's a time topause.

(27:30):
It's a time a couple times a month to pause andcome together in a space that there's no
judgment.
I create a circle of trust.
So, whatever you share stays within and thatbonds the group, right?
We're to be able to come and say, you knowwhat?
I want to speak my voice.
I want to share my truth with no judgement andto go, this is what's coming up for me and then

(27:56):
be able to give people the tools to really findtheir own answers whether that's through
meditation, through some spiritual work, through angel cards because they're so, they
ask questions, they support them.
Why don't you think about it from thisperspective?
This gets you opening up to think of things andto find your own answers.

(28:19):
You are so wise.
You are the expert on you.
So I just help guide you to get there.
So it's a time to do that.
And I'm really excited about it.
I'm hoping it's not going be like a ton ofpeople.
It's going to be like 10 to 15 people to whereyou get to share and be supported and be able

(28:41):
to have those tools to help yourself.
Nice, I love it.
I love it.
Soul Time with Stacy, is that what you said thename was?
I love that name, that's a great group.
And what is the best way for people that arelistening to this podcast or watching the
podcast for people to get in touch with you?
We're going to put all of your contactinformation in the show notes, but for people

(29:02):
that are listening as they're jogging orwalking their dogs or whatever, I just want
them to be able to hear it as well.
What's the best way to really get in touch withyou?
Well, can connect with me on LinkedIn.
I'm there.
I have lots of videos there as well.
Facebook, TrueYou Consulting, that's onFacebook.

(29:25):
Then you can reach me on my website which istruyoutraining.com.
I'd love to connect and just to sit down andhave a conversation about what's going on and
what's calling you forward right now.
I'd love to have
a
chat with people about that.
Yes, I love that.

(29:45):
Love that and like I said we've got theinformation in the show notes so you can find
out how to connect with Stacy where you'relistening or watching this podcast.
Well, it's been such a pleasure today.
That is a wrap on today's episode of the Leapto Success podcast.
I hope that listeners out there foundinspiration, motivation, and a few golden

(30:09):
nuggets to take with you on your journey.

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

I’m Jay Shetty host of On Purpose the worlds #1 Mental Health podcast and I’m so grateful you found us. I started this podcast 5 years ago to invite you into conversations and workshops that are designed to help make you happier, healthier and more healed. I believe that when you (yes you) feel seen, heard and understood you’re able to deal with relationship struggles, work challenges and life’s ups and downs with more ease and grace. I interview experts, celebrities, thought leaders and athletes so that we can grow our mindset, build better habits and uncover a side of them we’ve never seen before. New episodes every Monday and Friday. Your support means the world to me and I don’t take it for granted — click the follow button and leave a review to help us spread the love with On Purpose. I can’t wait for you to listen to your first or 500th episode!
