SPEAKER_00 (00:00):
All right, y'all.
2026 is right around the corner, and I want to set you up to
finally put yourself first.
So we're going to go throughphase one of the guilt free
future planning dealy.
I'm Jesse, and this is theprocess that I've used that
helped me like publish twobooks, launch my new business,
(00:23):
and help me create theconditions for like massive,
massive fulfillment in my life.
And I want the same for you.
We're going to super, superhyper focus on one element,
which is this piece here.
And in the guilt-free futureplanning, there's a few things.
So we're not gonna, I'm notgonna distract you and flood you
with the bazillion things.
(00:44):
I want to get super superfocused on the first layer of
this guilt-free future planning, which is putting the things
where you can see them, like getthem out of your head.
Why?
Because you know, or maybe youdon't, maybe I'm the only weirdo
that is this way.
I have a lot of big ideas and Ihave a lot of plans.
(01:05):
I have a lot of things that Iwant to accomplish and do and
learn and all of the stuff.
And when they're in my head, itbecomes this big, giant,
overwhelming thing that I'mnever gonna accomplish, right?
Like I've only made micro stepson one of the things or a bunch
of the things, and so it createsthis kind of energy of less than
(01:26):
or failure or whatever it is,but it's because it's all in my
head, and then what happensbecause it's all in my head,
some new thing comes up, somenew opportunities, some new
interest, and then I go chasethat thing.
And guess what?
I add to the pile, and sogetting it out of our head,
putting it where we can see itis like the key, key, key
(01:47):
element.
And so I know you're out thereand you're like, man, Jess, this
is great, but I don't have thatstupid template.
Don't worry about it.
Number one, if you want thetemplate, I got all kinds of
fancy templates for you.
So drop double D in thecomments, uh, and I'll hook you
up with the daily dominationboard, and then you're gonna get
(02:08):
a follow-up email.
So you best open up that email, and that bad boy, it'll give you
the whole framework, at leastthe template, anyways, for you
to work through.
But if you don't have it, don'tworry.
Grab a pen and paper, grab yourfancy remarkable, grab your
iPad, whatever it is that youtake notes in, because you can
start doing this right now.
And remember, I mean, it'sOctober right now, but the new
(02:31):
year's right around the corner, and so you got plenty of time to
work on the thing.
Um, now, like I said, we'regonna talk about put it where
you can see it, right?
We're gonna get into that.
Why?
Because when it's all in ourhead, it our head becomes
storage space, and our brain isfantastic and awesome for
(02:52):
problem solving, for connectingwith other human beings.
But when we have it crammed upwith all of these things, all of
these ideas, all of thesecommitments that we haven't made
progress on, starts stealing ourfocus and we underserve the
person in front of us.
And I know that you absolutelywant to serve the person in
front of you in the greatest waypossible.
(03:13):
After we get again, I'm gonnagive you a heads up, start
writing down, take notes.
After you get it out of yourhead, then you want to examine
the list because I'm prettysure, like for real, for real,
I'm pretty sure you're gonnahave the same situation that I
have, which is um oh my I I kindof neglect myself.
Back to like the whole purposeof the self first uh framework.
(03:36):
It's all about putting yourselffirst so that you can better
serve the people in your worldbecause that's what we're here
for, right?
It's all about sharing our giftsand talents and service to
others.
You're out there, grab yourpens, grab your pencils, grab
your crayons, whatever it is.
Uh, we're gonna get into thisthat the first phase of the
(03:56):
guilt-free future planning.
And so, again, I'm gonna showthis super fancy uh dealy here,
and it doesn't have to be superfancy for you, right?
Like you you know what you'redoing.
So, the first, first layer ofthis, don't worry about all the
stuff because we're gonna go tothat on our next live stream.
(04:16):
What you want to do is like allthe stuff that you've had in
your head that you were gonnastart by now or that you were
gonna finish, that you weregonna look into, all of that
stuff, I want you to get it outof your head and start writing
it down.
Now, I like to suggest and guidepeople to put those things into
three different buckets.
One bucket is like business orprofessional development, right?
(04:40):
Like if you're running abusiness, if you're thinking of
starting a side gig, what arethe things that you want to
accomplish?
What are the things, the skillsthat you're gonna have to learn
and develop in order to makethat happen?
Specifically in the business andprofessional development space.
Like if for your job you need anew certification so you can get
a promotion.
Uh, shout out to Noah, who justgot his master's license, which
(05:02):
I know he is now a masterplumber in the state of Texas.
It's not a bit uh small thing.
Uh so congratulations and shoutout to you, bro, for that.
But that's an example of thetype of professional development
we might be thinking about.
You might want to learn AI, youmight want to learn how to
keyboard or whatever it is.
Think of it in a bucket.
The next bucket is personalgrowth, meaning you personally.
(05:25):
So, for me, personal growth, theone one big gigantic thing that
I have is completing a full IronMan by the end of next year.
I got a long way to go.
You can see this little chinhere might be in the way of that
happening, but when I got it outof my head, I was able to see,
like, oh, I've got all theseother things I want to do, and
then we can prioritize, whichagain, that's the next phase.
(05:48):
Right now, all I want you tofocus on is getting the stuff
out of your head.
We talked about business andprofessional growth.
What are the things, ideas, goals, projects that you've been
tinkering around that pop up inyour head and don't leave you
alone?
Write it down.
Personal growth, same thing.
Those things, write it down.
And then the last one ismeaningful connections.
(06:10):
Because I know if I don'tdeliberately focus on
maintaining and cultivating newconnections, I will absolutely
ignore it and neglect it.
No one knows.
I haven't been golfing with themin two years because I just
forget to make uh those personalconnections a priority.
(06:30):
And I'm a bit of a flake when itcomes to those kinds of things.
Anyways, in my head, it's thesethree buckets, right?
There's the work, professionalstuff, there's me, the personal
stuff, and then there's therelationships that we need that
keep us healthy and keep ussane.
Now, you might be feeling alittle anxious, like, oh my God,
I got like this is a lot ofstuff.
What if I put it in the wrongbucket?
And uh, like, don't worry aboutit.
(06:52):
Like, it doesn't matter whatorder you're getting this stuff
out of your head in.
It doesn't just get it out ofyour head because then you can
organize it, right?
So just start writing down thewhat are the things that you
wanted to start, accomplish, learn this year.
If you haven't, if they are notto your satisfaction, I'll say
(07:14):
it that way.
If you haven't moved as far asyou wanted to, um, if you
haven't even started the damnthing, no judgment, man.
Life is life, bro.
But get it out of your head andput it down on paper, put it
where you can see it, right?
And you're gonna find that onceyou start doing that, your
brain's gonna start firing, like, ooh, what about this?
(07:36):
Oh, what about that?
Oh, what about this?
Let it let it flow, man.
Get them all out of your head.
What are some of the thingsaspirationally that you've been
thinking about?
Some big giant uh uh challengesyou wanted to take on that are
gonna force you to grow.
Get those things out of yourhead.
Now, the reason I do this, oneis because I'm a scatter brain,
I love learning, I love people,I love doing things, I love to
(07:58):
play.
But when I decided to start myown business, I also kind of got
to manage myself and execute.
And so, and execute on thethings that are gonna sustain my
business and sustain my life, which meant I had to prioritize
things.
Now, my mama used to tell me,Mijo, you can't have it all.
And I disagree, I can have itall, I just can't have it all at
(08:22):
the one time, like right now.
And so applying this method, like for real, for real, if you
sign up for the self first timemastery webinar, like for real,
for real, I have a webinar uh sothat you know people can sign up
and be a part of that.
It's less than an hour, and thepoint of that is to help you
decide like, is this workshopexactly what for me?
(08:47):
Will it work for me?
And so the webinar is like anintroduction, big, big overview
of the whole thing.
I'll drop the link again.
I gotta drop the links later.
I might I might need anadministrator at some point for
these things, anyways.
But this is the process and themethod that's helped me
accomplish and live the lifethat I'm loving.
Like, actually, I'll say it moreclearly.
This process, this whole systemhas helped me design the life
(09:09):
that I want.
And so, if you want to designthe life that you want, this is
the thing you want to do.
So, rehash when we go like thefirst, first phase, first step
in the guilt-free futureplanning is to get all the stuff
out of your head, right?
We got this cool littletemplate, uh, which Noah and Bob
are going to be getting becausethey're gonna be signing up for
the Double D Daily DominationBoard.
(09:32):
Uh, and we get the things out ofour head that we haven't
accomplished, that we want toaccomplish, that we want to
progress further on in relationto business and professional
growth, then personal growth, and then uh meaningful
connections.
Just get them out of your headso that you can see them and
look at them and organize them.
Now, another key point to thisphase, phase one of the of the
(09:55):
future planning, is examiningwhere our energy is going.
Like, and I don't mean likeactually taking action, I mean
like what are the things thatthat occupy my mind?
And so, what one thing that Idiscovered is my like the the
box right here with business andprofessional growth, full of
(10:15):
stuff, uh personal growth, fullof stuff, meaning well, maybe
half full of stuff, and thenmeaningful connections, nothing.
And so, what did that mean?
That meant this was a whileback, right?
My whole entire mind wasconsumed with my job, with my
career, with my and I'm notsaying that's a bad thing, but I
was neglecting myself, right?
(10:37):
I I mean, I've lost I don'tnine, wait, 213, yeah, nine
pounds in the past two years.
It's been slow, but most of itis because of muscle mass.
But, anyways, and so I had tostart focusing on my physical
wellness.
I had to adjust my sleep, I hadto adjust my nutrition intake,
and I had to adjust my exercise.
So I said, How do I accomplishthat?
I was like, Oh, I know what Ineed to do.
I'll set a big, giant pain inthe butt goal, which is the Iron
(10:59):
Man, which has helped me really, really hone in on the personal
growth side and then themeaningful connections.
I got amazing people in my lifeum that that I almost
systematically keep in touchwith.
Um, not as much as they wouldlike to, but for me, it's like a
lot.
It doesn't feel like that foryou, but it does feel like that
for me.
Let's get back to this.
(11:20):
Once you get all of the thingsthat have been stealing your
energy, bouncing around in yourhead, I like we're not even
making a commitment right now.
All I want you to do is get itout of your head so you can see
it.
And the reason we have thesethree different buckets, and I
promise you, like, if you havedifferent buckets, use those.
Like, there's nothing wrong withthat.
(11:41):
But the reason for the differentbuckets is so that we can see
like how what am I neglecting?
Where am I failing to serve?
I'll give you another example.
When I was uh examining mybusiness, like all this business
professional growth stuff here, what became apparent to me was
the community or the people thatI was underserving the most was
(12:04):
subcontractors, tradecontractors, trade
professionals.
I do a lot of business withgeneral contractors, and I
appreciate them.
They keep me fed, you if youcan't tell, right?
But I have some magical skillsand a ton, I don't know, 20 plus
years of experience of being onthe subcontractor side of the
business from installing leadingcrews, managing uh multiple
(12:26):
teams, uh supporting the uhgrowth of a growth and like
awesome performance of abusiness unit that I could help
other subcontractors with, but Iwasn't giving them any time or
energy.
I couldn't see that going day today.
But when I got it out all of myhead, I'm like, oh my goodness,
I need to make an adjustment.
And so last year I made anadjustment.
(12:48):
And for clarity, this guilt-freefuture planning, what we're
talking about right now is likesetting the stage, start now.
Let me say it again.
Start right now.
Like these things I'm talkingabout, start writing them down,
get them out of your head, examine them, and maybe make
some decisions based on that.
Because the new year is aroundthe corner.
(13:09):
I make all my annual planning, etc., on my birthday, which is
in December.
Um, why?
Because I think the worldrevolves around me.
That's why.
Now, most people do their likebig planning and evaluation of
stuff on the new year, but theywait until like January 1st or
New Year's Eve to kind of comeup with some whimsical goal.
(13:31):
How do I know?
Because I used to do that.
That did not work for me.
Like I made zero progress, except for like my professional
stuff, and so doing this earlyto really dive into it and think
about it is going to help youset the stage to start 2026 like
at a full sprint instead oftrimping and bumbling around.
(13:55):
And so back to the whole thing, right?
Guilt-free future planning.
What we want to do, what I wantyou to do, what I'm charging you
with, is to get the stuff out ofyour head and don't judge
yourself, right?
Why do we call it guilt-free?
It's because I ain't gonna judgeyou.
You don't need to judgeyourself.
I am going to absolve you of allthe guilt that you carry for not
(14:20):
progressing at the rate that youwant to progress, or not
completely killing every singlething and idea that you had come
across your head.
It's simply about let me look atthe things.
And when I look at all of thesethings, which of these things
are gonna bring me the greatestamount of fulfillment?
For me, fulfillment comes fromserving others, right?
(14:43):
And so when I get all theseideas out of my head, I can see
some of them are like that'sweak sauce, Jess, like that's
all about you growing my growingmy super long hair.
Nobody cares about that.
It's not gonna help me deliverback, but it's something I want
to do, anyways.
The point being is I can seewhere am I putting my energy and
what needs to like rise to thetop and maybe fall to the bottom
(15:08):
so that I can become the personI'm intended to be or the
promise I'm intended to be,right?
So that's the idea.
Overall, it's simple.
Get it out of your head, examineit, and chew on it for a bit.
I know now here's here's theother issue that we do.
Uh, and the way the reason theself-first framework is broken
(15:28):
up the way it's broken up isbecause it's we typically most
of us on here are veryaction-oriented individuals.
So our bias is to action.
And so when we sit down to likethink and start uh brainstorming
about what the future might belike or what we want to design
for ourselves, our immediateinstinct is to start scheduling
(15:51):
it.
And you're gonna look at yourcalendar and you say, Oh my god,
I ain't got uh, I don't havetime, uh right.
And then once we startscheduling it, then we're like,
Oh, I could get started rightnow, I need to start this, and
that's a mistake.
That's why we're only going tofocus on future planning, which
is all about getting the stuffout of our head so that we can
(16:11):
examine it, so that we canprioritize it.
So if you're right now havingthe instinct to like go put it
in your calendar and startseeing when you can start, don't
don't like pump the brakes alittle bit.
We're gonna get back to that.
Pump the brakes, and then oncewe get through the filtering,
which the next the next callthat we'll have here in a few
weeks, we're gonna get into likehow do we prioritize these
(16:35):
things in such a way that helpsus build momentum, and then then
we start taking we're gonna walkthe plank, which means we're
gonna start taking a steptowards commitment, but you
don't have to do any of thatright now.
Right now, we're gonna be livestreaming again here in two
weeks.
So here's the homework get thestuff out of your head, the
goals, the wishes, the wants, the projects, all of the things,
(16:59):
put them in the buckets.
The buckets I'm recommending isbusiness and professional
growth, personal growth, andmeaningful connections, like
being connected with other humanbeings.
Get that stuff out of your headand examine it.
Give yourself two and don'tschedule it, don't do nothing
with it.
Just get it out of your head.
Now, if you're an OG like Mr.
(17:21):
Kenneth here, he says hereflects on his goals and
challenges every single week andmakes attempt, attempts to
change and conquer them.
Phenomenal, right?
Like if you're already there, keep doing that, right?
Like, if that's what's workingfor you, keep doing that.
But if you've been spinning yourwheels and starting a lot of
(17:42):
things and never reallyfinishing anything, and feeling
just like, oh man, I'm stillhere like three, four, five
years later, and I'm stillspinning my wheels.
I don't feel like I'm growing atthe rate that I can or should,
or I don't feel like I'm servingto the degree that I absolutely
can.
Then I'm gonna recommend youfollow this approach.
Again, get it out of your head.
(18:03):
Uh, if you don't have thetemplates, do drop double D in
the comments, and I'm gonna hookyou up with all kinds of
templates.
The first one you're gonna getis daily domination board, which
is gonna help you like manageyour day-to-day tasks, but
that's not enough.
Like that'll get you through theday and the next day and the
next day, but it'll keep you ifthat's all you do, it'll just
keep you on the hamster wheel.
(18:24):
But when you sign up for that, guess what?
You get a super easy follow-upemail, super awesome follow-up
email that's gonna give you thetemplate for like the whole uh
self-first time masteryframework, which again it's just
a template.
There's a lot of instructions, there's a lot of words on there
that you can use.
And I got a bunch of videos thatyou can go watch to like kind of
figure out how to do the things.
(18:44):
Um, but if you really, reallywant to get into it and have an
experience, uh, a growthexperience learning with other
people, the best way to do thatis to sign up for the self-first
time mastery workshop that'll behappening.
Guess when?
In December, right before thenew year.
Uh, and so maybe my brotherhere, Mr.
(19:05):
Adam Hoots, has caught you justin time.
Uh, maybe Adam and a bunch ofother amazing people or people
that you work with out therethat you know could benefit uh
from investing themselves inthemselves and making themselves
a priority.
Maybe you share some of thisstuff with them so we can get
the ball rolling.
One last time, I know I said ita bunch of times, but I want to
(19:26):
make sure super clear that youdon't miss this.
Your homework, your assignment, your field assignment.
If you choose to make sure 2026is the year for you, that
knockout, drag out, breakthroughyear.
Your assignment is to do this.
Get all the stuff that's been inyour head, the stuff you planned
(19:48):
on starting, but haven't, thethings that you want to do, but
haven't, the skills that youwant to develop, the people that
you want to stay in contactwith, all of that stuff.
Get it out of your head, put itin these buckets, let your brain
run.
It's gonna run, you're gonna geta bunch of other things.
Get out of your head, put it inthe buckets, and then examine
it.
What's missing, what's reallyvaluable, what's
(20:11):
transformational, and what'sweak sauce?
Like for real, for real.
Um have some integrity, man.
Hold yourself to a higher levelbecause you know you can
accomplish great things.
And then come back to the nextlive stream because on the next
live stream, we're gonna takeall these ideas and things that
you've had in your head andwe're going to prioritize them
(20:34):
or give them weight using thedamn matrix.
So I'm just gonna leave youhanging with that.
If you're watching the replay, keep being amazing.
Um, again, if you want thething, drop double D in the
comments.
You'll get all the templates andcome back for the next show
because we're gonna get into thedamn matrix to help you give
weight to all of these ideas, goals, and stuff.
Why?
So that you can kick some assnext year.
(20:56):
Be kind to yourself, be cool, and we'll talk at you next time.
Peace.
