This is an introduction of who I am, what I've done, and where I want to take you all with Legends from the Shadows: Tales of the Unexplained. As a child, my fascination with the unexplained and mysterious was ignited. This curiosity guided me, Eric Dionne, into the strange world of the paranormal and cryptozoology, culminating in the formation of my paranormal group, Sepia. My journey also led me to the ParaX network, where I had the privilege of working with notable figures like William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy. However, I decided to step away from paranormal investigations to navigate an even more enigmatic path. Welcome to my new podcast, Legends from the Shadows, tales of the Unexplained, where we will dive into the world of cryptids and mysterious creatures from all cultural backgrounds.

As we embark on this new journey, prepare to enter the shadows of the unexplained. With a weekly show release and potential bonus episodes and live streams down the line, we'll uncover the secrets of eerie occurrences and cryptic creatures. I can assure you, this is not just another paranormal or cryptid podcast. This is an invitation to explore the unknown, to broaden your horizons and challenge your understanding of the world. Remember, truth often thrives in the most unexpected places, so keep an open mind, stay curious, and embrace the darkness with me, Eric Dionne. As we journey together through the legends, myths and enigmas that have captivated curious minds for centuries, you might just find that the unknown isn't as frightening as it seems.

enigmas that have nestledthemselves in the shadowy

(00:42):
corners of history.
From cryptic creatures to eerieoccurrences, we'll embark on a
journey to uncover the truth, mysteries and whispers that have
captivated curious minds forcenturies.
Get ready, venture into theunknown, for the line between

(01:02):
fact and folklore blur and thestories that dwell in the
shadows come to light.
So this isn't going to be afull episode.
This is going to be anintroduction, an introduction to

(01:25):
somewhat of what the show isgoing to be about, as well as a
little bit of backgroundinformation on myself.
First and foremost.
My name is Eric Dionne.
I got into the paranormal andcryptozoology side of things
unexplained stuff at a young age.
My grandmother was from MannaHawkins, new Jersey, and I grew

(01:49):
up in Eastern North Carolina, but as a child if I was causing
problems or misbehaving, mygrandmother would threaten me
with the promise that the NewJersey Devil would come and
swoop me up and basicallystraighten my ass out.

(02:11):
Now, as a child, that terrifiedmost kids.
To me.
It kind of opened me up towanting to know more.
Like what was this New JerseyDevil, that spider webbed into a
whole other realm ofinformation that I absorbed like

(02:32):
a sponge.
I started looking into Greekmythology, roman mythology,
nordic mythology, the paranormalghost, cryptids, you name it.
It just interested me.
I got into books like theHobbit, the Lord of the Rings,

(02:54):
aragon, other high fantasynovels in teenage years, love,
some D&D, all this stuff.
Fast forward down the road metJessica and we'd gotten married
and we decided to form aparanormal group called Sepia,

(03:17):
so that was Southeast ParanormalInvestigators Association, and
we were doing stuff and westarted meeting like minds and
this is back in the days of likemy space, before the book of
faces came out and one thing ledto another and we were tuned in
listening to a show on anetwork at the time called ParaX

(03:41):
and we'd listened some more andmore, talked to some people and
then one day was talking to oneof the owners of ParaX, dave,
because Dave and Tom owned thecompany and they needed somebody
to fill in as a co-host.
So I went ahead and filled inand by doing that afterwards it

(04:06):
came back to me that one.
I had a really good knack forbeing on air and they enjoyed it
.
And two, they thought I shouldgo ahead and do my own show.
Well, with that, one of thechat users was Amy Dreammaster
and with Amy, myself and Jessicaaimed the formation of what

(04:29):
came to be known as Sepia RVP orSepia Radio Voice Phenomenon,
and it was our show on the ParaxNetwork and it ran for ran for
a good six years Every Mondaynight.
I think we missed two Mondaynights over the course of six
years and we had all types offun.

(04:50):
I mean, we had great topics.
We met a lot of great peopleDave Schrader, you know, patrick
and Marley, guys from Taps, josh Gates, marla Brooks,
christian Day, chris Fleming, nick Redfern, raven like

(05:19):
literally I could go on and onand on about the great people
that I got to interact with andgot to meet.
And then we started doingevents and got to meet more
people, and this was at theheight of when paranormal events
were just coming out andgetting into play.
While doing these events, youknow, we met more people, more

(05:43):
like-minded individuals likeparanormal Sarah, danny Mason,
rosemary, ellen Geiley, johnZaffis Just the list goes on and
on.
After Parax, what happened nextwas.
I left the station and thenmoved over and formed Sepia RVP

(06:06):
Radio and with that I had anetwork that I ran for about two
years with a little over 25shows total that were just
geared for the paranormal andcryptozoology thing stuff.
Then, shortly after that, thenext thing that happened was,
you know, politics and stress, and in the end I got burnt out.

(06:30):
Well, didn't give up oneverything completely.
You know we started doingevents, lecture series, lecture
on the cryptozoology.
Went to DragonCon, had a greattime there, did a big lecture
there.
Other colleges around the area, other many conventions,

(06:50):
libraries, you name it.
You know I was trying to do itand going and having a good time
.
Had the chance to work withsome great people over the times
with that Worked on an episodeof Haunted Collector with John
Zaffis and his team, worked on aproject for the History Channel

(07:11):
with William Shatner calledWeird or what, so did a lot of
behind the scenes stuff here andthere.
Being here in North Carolina and40 minutes away from Screen Gem
Studios.
There was a lot of opportunitythat were handed out and I took
advantage of it.
You know who wouldn't want towork with these people?

(07:33):
You know who wouldn't want tomeet Camden Toy or William
Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, deeWallace you know, the list goes
on and on.
Samantha Newark was out there, you know, it's just there's so
many people.
And then finally I hung it up.

(07:55):
You know, John Zaffis told me Iwas too open to the field for
doing like investigations andstuff, and I took that advice.
I took that advice very well.
So fast forward.
Here we are what, 10 yearslater?
And I'm just now getting backto even posting a show on
anything.

(08:17):
So, that being said, the focusof Legends from the Shadows,
tales of the Unexplained, isgoing to be all-encompassing.
I'm going to tackle subjectssuch as, you know, the White
Stag, the Yellow Topper, theHoney Island swamp Monster,
selma and the Hodag.

(08:38):
I'm going to go into all typesof cultural aspects from all
over the world.
Of course, as I said, December1st I'll be launching the first
episode called the Hidden Folk, and then I'm also going to get
into the Paranormal and othertheories that are out there that
are unexplained.
So I'm not going to put myselfjust in one little spot and be

(09:02):
like, no, I won't talk aboutthis.
We'll go into banshees and LochNess and stuff that people know
, but then we'll also go intoother things like the Nixs or
the Cutty Soams, Gambo, thingsthat people might not have heard
about, the Wraith Creature orWampus Cats, your Drop Bears,

(09:25):
your Ghouls, your Ghost, alltypes of stuff, and once I get
the show up and going probably afew episodes in at least then
I'll start also reaching out andgoing back into the aspect of
bringing on special guests doinginterviews, like I used to do,

(09:46):
because I love interacting withpeople and I love having
listeners turn around as welland give me their input and tell
me what they want to hear.
So a few things that are goingto be out there.
Our Instagram page simply typein legends from the shadows and

(10:07):
you'll be able to find theInstagram page.
It's already up there and liveand running, so we'll start
building that up.
Keeping it as a separate thing.
Legends from the Shadows atgmailcom is where you'll be able
to submit any questions aheadof time that you might have, any
topics that you'd like me tocover, any stories.

(10:28):
Actually, if you have a storyand you want to share it with me
, send it in.
I'll take a look over it, maybeeven be able to bring you onto
the show and we can talk aboutit.
So that's where we'll takestuff like that from as well.
My plan is to release a new showonce a week and then eventually

(10:50):
I'll also start adding likesome bonus episodes and maybe
even do some video streaming ofstuff.
The goal is hopefully maybesometime next year, but I'm not
gonna make any promises is to dosome live broadcasts from on
locations.
So, that being said, that'skind of where I'm at.

(11:14):
Like I said my name is EricDionne and I am going to be the
host of Legends from the Shadows, tales of the Unexplained, and
I'm looking forward to this andI really hope you all enjoy what
I'm going to try to puttogether.
It might be rough and rocky thefirst few episodes for me to

(11:34):
get back into the swing ofthings, but in the end my
overall goal is to provide youall with something pleasurable
and just fantastic as ourjourney through the mysterious
concludes.
We step back from the shadows, but their secrets linger.

(11:55):
Remember, in the quiet cornersof the world, mysteries still
whisper their tales Until wemeet again.
Stay curious, embrace thedarkness.
Never forget that truth oftenthrives in the most unexpected
places.
As we part ways, may you alwaysfind fascination in the unknown

(12:19):
and the courage to explore thedepths of the unexplained.
