DM (00:07):
Welcome everyone back to yet another wonderful episode of
Legends Loot and Lore.
We've got the adventuring partyback together for another
exciting adventure in Van Delverand below the Shattered Obelisk
.
I just love saying that name.

(00:29):
Van Delver and below theShattered Obelisk Just sounds
like fun.
It's so much danger.

Iquium (00:37):
Aminus.

DM (00:43):
So let's welcome everyone back.
Catherine, you traveled longdistances today from upstairs to
get here, so that was wonderful.
Thank you so much.
And your character Zanrose.
So what did your character dothe last episode?

Zanros (01:07):
She recruited a bunch of goblins to work at the B&B.

DM (01:12):
Yes, yes, she did so.
Zanrose has now, I think, aboutseven employees and two wolves.
Are the wolves employees or arethey?
They're security?
Do they earn a salary Like?

Zanros (01:27):
I mean, they get food for being very good boys.

DM (01:31):
Okay.

Zanros (01:34):
Or girls I don't know what they are yet, but their
names are Fluffy and Bitsy.

DM (01:41):
Well, there you have it Fluffy and Bitsy.

Iquium (01:43):
That's going to be the best thing ever to name a dog
like Fluffy or Bitsy.
That's like you know somethingthat can kill you and you have
to show up at the gates of theafterlife going well.
What killed you, fluffy?
Fluffy killed me.
That's right or Bitsy killed me.

DM (02:02):
Fluffy the rabid.
Hellhound, wonderful and Fable, coming from the far distance of
next door, and your characterDahl.
So what did your character dolast when last we met?

Dal (02:23):
Like was that right after the river or is that after we
fought?

DM (02:26):
You went in the cave.
You were at the hole, the wholecave.
So, yeah, you got washed awayby the flood, the waters from
the waterfall and nearly nearlygot washed away, but you held on
for dear life.
So that was good, excellent, and you've been helping out
recruit, recruit employees forthe BN base.

(02:50):
That's wonderful, and James.

Iquium (02:52):
Yes, hello, james.

DM (02:56):
And your character, Iquium.

Dal (02:57):
Yes.

DM (02:58):
So, as I call him, mr Glass, mr Glass.

Iquium (03:04):
Here, hold this Crack, you're dead again.

DM (03:10):
I was talking with somebody else about Iquium's unarmed
strike and that Iquium's unarmedstrike is zero, zero, and that
does damage to himself.
That's right, yeah, I hurtmyself.

Iquium (03:22):
I pulled something.
How many points of damage didyou?
Yeah, five strength, that wouldbe a minus three.
So you've actually healedpeople by putting hands on them.

DM (03:30):
That's right, oh my God.
So what was Iquium doing?
Well, you have not just Iquium, but Iquium and Callie.
Iquium and Callie.

Iquium (03:40):
You're direwolf, yes.
So Callie, being orintimidating, yet happy self,
you know, chomping on goblinswhen appropriate, or
intimidating them, or just, youknow, fetching them Right.
And then, hey, I got to Rickroll a bugbear, so I'm pretty

(04:03):
happy about that.

DM (04:03):
That's fantastic, yeah, so Always a good time, always a
good time.
So some of the things thathappened, so you.
So let's recap.
So you are now when we left, you're getting back to your
wagon and you're getting readyto head back to fan or not
heading back to, but heading, continuing on your journey to

(04:24):
the fan dail, excellent.
So a couple of things.
You rescued Sildar all winterand Sildar was in really rough
shape, so he offered you 50 goldpieces to escort him safely to
fan dail and then, so he couldrecuperate there, you took the

(04:51):
supplies right from inside thecave.

Iquium (04:57):
Oh, from inside the cave .
Yes, from inside the cave, yes,and we had the additional
supplies that we're transportingto Correct.
So you see a rock seeker.

DM (05:12):
So just so you're aware I don't know if I mentioned this
in the last episode, but it's agood refresh for you the
supplies that you found in thecave were labeled property of
lion shield costar.

Zanros (05:27):
Is that where we're taking the stuff?

DM (05:31):
No, you're taking your supplies to Barthens provisions.

Dal (05:34):
Okay, what was the name again?

Zanros (05:37):
Lion shield costar lion shield costar.
It's on the map.

DM (05:42):
Yes, which I so kindly provided to you.

Zanros (05:49):
You're so kind.

DM (05:50):
Wow Feel the love.

Iquium (05:54):
Well, it already, it already auto corrected to
coaster.
So we're delivering a batch ofcoasters.
Yes, it is, it is.

DM (06:01):
That's what they do.
They're coasters of all shapes, sizes, materials, you name it.

Iquium (06:08):
Maybe if we return their coasters we'll get a break on
coasters for your B and B.

DM (06:13):
There you go.
They'll also put your logo onthem, so yes.
Absolutely 100%.

Zanros (06:20):
Perfect.

DM (06:22):
They will make coasters out of the shattered obelisk.
If you get that, they will.

Iquium (06:27):
You could make things interesting and just take it
directly to your B and B andthat way, if they ever show up
and use the B and B, they'relike where did you get these?
These look familiar.

DM (06:37):
Exactly.

Iquium (06:38):
It lost these years ago.

DM (06:41):
Don't know what you're talking about.

Iquium (06:42):
I have no idea.
We got them in a goblin garagesale.

DM (06:46):
Exactly.

Iquium (06:47):
Cave sale, I mean.

Zanros (06:52):
Instead of garage sale on a Saturday you go cave
sailing, yes, cave sailing, absolutely All right.

DM (07:01):
So you've got those supplies to return to Lion Shield Caster
.
You've got the originalsupplies that are going back to
Barthyn not going back to, butbeing delivered to Barthyn's
provisions.
On behalf of Gundren RockseekerSildar has requested that you
just take him somewhere where hecan convalesce.

(07:25):
Yes, yes, yes.

Iquium (07:31):
Yes, didn't we?
Did we heal him at all?

Dal (07:36):
Or.

DM (07:37):
Maybe healed him a little bit, but he's still he's stable.
He's basically stable, but notnot doing well.
Not nowhere near full health.

Zanros (07:48):
We looked at him and said, ooh, that seems bad, and
did nothing that looks like ithurts man.

Iquium (07:56):
Here we have salt in the provision wagon.
Would you like to rub it inyour wounds?
Absolutely.

Zanros (08:01):
That doesn't seem comfy.
Meet Vincent, he's doing justas well here.
Put your drink on a coasterwhile you die slowly.

Iquium (08:12):
Here we're giving free coasters away with every rescue.
No, we're just giving awaycoasters.

DM (08:19):
Oh my God, free coaster with every rescue Fantastic.

Zanros (08:28):
That's how I'm advertising the B and B.

Iquium (08:32):
Free coaster with every rescue.

Zanros (08:33):
Free coaster with every rescue.

DM (08:37):
All right, so are we ready to head into Fandaylon?

Iquium (08:42):
I just pictured what the coaster's going to look like.
It just says around the thingslike just a round coaster.
Congratulations on not dying, here's your free coaster.

Zanros (08:53):
In the middle it has the BumbleBumbleB and B logo.

DM (08:56):
That's right.
Should look into QR codes forthat.

Dal (09:00):
Oh yeah, scan this, if you want.

Zanros (09:05):
I mean I'm unemployed so I could make a website for the
BumbleBumbleB and B.

Iquium (09:10):
I can make you coasters Nice.

Dal (09:12):
I already made your menu.

Zanros (09:14):
Fable has made the menu.

Dal (09:16):
There's over what 30 things on there.

Zanros (09:18):
Yeah, I hope the goblins are good cooks.

DM (09:22):
That's a Greek diner menu right there.

Zanros (09:25):
Gordon Ramsay would be very angry about that.
A Greek diner is 30 items.

Dal (09:29):
on the appetizers alone, that's fair You're right.

Zanros (09:32):
Gordon Ramsay would be pissed about a 30 item Gordon
Ramsay would be menu.

DM (09:36):
displeased Gordon.

Dal (09:36):
Ramsay can suck it.

Zanros (09:40):
Can we clip that out and tag Gordon Ramsay in it,
because I wanted to see his?

DM (09:44):
reaction to.

Zanros (09:44):
Gordon Ramsay can suck it.

DM (09:47):
Wow, we love Gordon Ramsay though.
Oh, I know yes.

Dal (09:50):
I'm proud of my menu.

DM (09:52):
You should be proud of your menu, but Gordon Ramsay would
have something to say about it.

Iquium (09:55):
All I know is I followed Gordon Ramsay's advice and I
got the X-clad pans and they'repretty awesome, I gotta say.

DM (10:00):
Really.

Iquium (10:01):
Surprisingly so.
I really thought this is goingto go one way or another.
It's just going to be either ashallow celebrity endorsement or
it's actually going to be agood thing, and it's actually a
good thing.

DM (10:10):
Fascinating.
So you guys get back to your.
The adventuring party gets backto their wagon.
Now you are.
If you look at the big map onthe, look at the big map on the
table.
So you're still by the Kragmahideout, that big X.

(10:31):
Okay, so it will probably beevening by the time you get to
Vandalin.
So what do you guys want to doon your way there?
What's the plan?
Any thoughts?

Iquium (10:58):
So we have all the provisions.
We had everything we took fromthe caves, yes, and two extra
horses from the, from the oneswe found on.
Was it two horses?

DM (11:14):
Yes, it was two horses.
Correct, those were Gundren andSildar's horses.
So you have the provisions, theoriginal provisions.

Iquium (11:26):
But they were just on horses, they didn't have wagons.
I'm sorry to interrupt Correct.

DM (11:30):
There were.
There were no.
That's why.
That's why you're transportingthe supplies, because they just
went.
They went quickly ahead onhorseback and left the supplies
behind, so that's why they hadthem, as that's why you were
escorting the supplies toVandalin for them.

Iquium (11:43):
Gotcha, yes, Um, okay, so assuming that our, our wagon,
oxen and horses are all stillthere, right, yep, okay.

DM (11:54):
Sorry, fair question.
Fair question.
Yeah, it's your.
Your camouflage job wassuccessful, excellent.
Nobody.
You and you, the, the goblins, the ones that were causing
trouble, are now in youremployee.
So there was there's no, noother threat on on the tri-board

(12:14):
trail other other than thosegoblins.

Dal (12:17):
So how many goblins do we even have?
Now we have six.

DM (12:20):
You have seven.

Dal (12:22):
And two, uh, two wolves.

DM (12:24):
No two regular walls.

Zanros (12:25):
Yeah, so we have Vincent Michael Creed, oscar Stanley,
toby and Nard dog the goblinsand Fluffy and Bitsy the wolves.

Dal (12:36):
I love Fluffy and Bitsy.

Zanros (12:37):
Fluffy and Bitsy.

DM (12:39):
So yeah, so you, you've got all that.
You've got the horses, you'vegot seven goblins with you,
sildar, um the wolves, so you'vegot quite a large Get a
non-terrage.
You have quite, yes, you havequite a large group of new yes,
so you're going to, you're goingto continue your way to

(13:01):
Vandalan.

Zanros (13:02):
Yes, yes.

DM (13:03):
Okay.
So, again, it's going to beabout a day's journey to get
there.
So it's, it's right, aboutsunset when you, you're, you're
now.
So you went, you're, you wereheading east on the tri-bore
trail, and then you turn southtoward Vandalan.

(13:23):
Who is this?
This village in the foothillsof the sword mountains?
So, again, it's about it'sabout sunset by the time you get
to to Vandalan.
So the the, the rutted trackthat you've been on, emerges
from a wooded hillside and youcatch your first glimpse of

(13:47):
Vandalan.
The town consists of 40 or 50simple log buildings, some built
on fieldstone foundations.
More old ruins, crumbling stonewalls covered in ivy and briars
surround the newer houses andshops, showing how this must

(14:09):
have been a much larger town incenturies past.
Most of the newer buildings areset on the sides of the cart
track, which widens into a muddymain street as it climbs toward
a ruined manor house on ahillside to the east side of
town.

Zanros (14:29):
What you call it ruins.
That's what B and B.

DM (14:34):
You've had a lot of work to do.
As you approach, you seechildren playing on the town
green and townsfolk tending tochores or running errands at the
shops in town.
Many people look up and smileas you approach, but all return
to their business as you go by.
Would someone like to roll fora roll of a history check?

Zanros (15:04):
Ooh I think I have a plus three on history.

Iquium (15:11):
Yeah, you roll it Plus, plus nothing.

DM (15:15):
Plus nothing.

Zanros (15:17):
I'll roll it 20.

DM (15:22):
20.
Yeah, Ooh, A little more.
A little more backstory on VanDalen.
The frontier town of Van Dalenis built on the ruins of a much
older settlement.
Years of years ago, old VanDalen was a thriving town whose
people were firmly allied withthe dwarves and gnomes of the

(15:47):
Van Delver Pact.
However, the same bandits whosacked the mines at Wave Echo
Cave attacked the settlement andVan Dalen was abandoned for
centuries.
In the last three or four years, hardy folk from the cities of
Neverwinter and Waterdeep havebegun settling atop the ruins of

(16:13):
Van Dalen.
A bustling frontier town hasdeveloped on the site of the old
settlement.
It's home now to farmers, woodcutters, fur traders and
prospectors drawn by the storiesof gold and platinum in the
foothills of the Sword Mountains.
Unfortunately, more than a fewRuffians and bandits have

(16:38):
settled here as well.
Taking advantage of the factthat there is no official local
authority to chase them off, Agang known as the Red Brands
have been hounding Van Dalen, extorting and bullying everyone
in town.

Dal (17:11):
The.

Zanros (17:17):
They need to look fancy for when guests arrive at the
B&B.

Dal (17:20):
I just have a little bow like what do you call it?
What the hell is it called?
Bow tie yeah.

DM (17:29):
They will have a negative on intimidation if you do that to
them.
So if you, try to.

Iquium (17:38):
She's like Callie doesn't wear a bow.

DM (17:39):
See, exactly so if you try to attack with them, they will
not be very intimidating.
Your enemies might try to justpet the wolves.

Zanros (17:50):
Not even one.
I mean that might be better.
Try to pet the wolves, See whathappens.

DM (17:54):
Yeah, oh, they're so cute.

Zanros (17:56):
You like that hand?

Iquium (17:58):
Nice.
So they might get negative tointimidation, but maybe
advantage on charm, Deception ohyeah.

Dal (18:07):
Oh, ok, yeah.
Deception check you know, maybethey're there the bows are a go
the bows are definitely a go Iswhat I'm hearing.

Zanros (18:15):
Lull them into a sense of security.

Dal (18:17):
I will draw that right now.

Iquium (18:20):
Pardon me, does your dog bite?
That's not my dog.

DM (18:29):
One of my favorite scenes out of all the Pink Panther
movies, so so fantastic.
I'm glad you referenced that.
That was good, all right, soyou have.
So I printed out maps for you.
So, again, you're coming fromthe north, heading, heading
south into town, so you're someof the first things you come

(18:49):
across there's a couple ofoutbuildings there on the
outskirts of town.
As you kind of come into thetown remember the town green,
which is where the kids areplaying so you're seeing people
kind of coming in and out ofshops.

Zanros (19:05):
Things are starting to close down for the night, so can
we make it to Barthens beforeit closes, because it's right
there?

DM (19:25):
You would tell you.
You go up.
You go up to the door ofBarthens provisions, you knock
on it.
However, you do notice there isa sign that says closed.

Zanros (19:33):
Can we go to Barthens house next door?
I don't take no for an answerAre you closed.

Iquium (19:42):
I just need one thing, just, just, just, just one thing
, just one, just one thing.
I won't be long, I promise.

DM (19:51):
Just one thing.
So you want to.
You want to try to knock on the, you want to try to knock on
the house.

Zanros (19:58):
I don't know, do you?

DM (19:59):
Well, you don't, you don't know, see.
I mean so you don't know thatit's Barthens home.
I mean, it says it on the mapbut you don't mean, I don't have
this map.
You don't have this arrows toeach item.

Iquium (20:11):
It tells me what it looks like, but you do not have
the label, unless, for some oddreason, we look down on the
ground and see writing.

DM (20:21):
Right.

Zanros (20:23):
It's Barthens outside his house.

DM (20:26):
Barthens provisions is run by a woman named Elmina Elmina
Barthens.

Zanros (20:32):
Oh is she outside.

DM (20:34):
She is not.
The store is closed, but is she?

Zanros (20:37):
outside her house.
Maybe she's doing somethingmilking a cow, hanging off
laundry, watching people walk byyou don't.

DM (20:45):
You don't see her anywhere.

Iquium (20:51):
So I think we should go to the.
I think we should go to the in.

Zanros (20:55):
Sus out my competition?

Iquium (20:56):
Yes, yeah, we're doing market research, so the letter
that I got from Gundrenobviously Gundren's been
Acquired by someone else.
Bear this message, can I?
I'm just going back to theletter I was given by the from
Gundren.

DM (21:15):
Yes.

Iquium (21:16):
Because we have to.
We do have to deliver thoseprovisions to Elmina Barthens.

DM (21:25):
Correct.
So you want to go.
You want to go to the StonehillInn, is that where?

Iquium (21:32):
you go yeah.

Dal (21:33):
I do but here's, the here yeah.

Iquium (21:36):
My, my thing is if, if there are there, are these
people shaking people down inthis town?

DM (21:41):
Yes.

Iquium (21:42):
I'd rather.
I'd rather know that they'reComing and deal with them,
rather than risk the entirewagon of.
Yes, my thought is this SinceBarthens isn't open, do we stay

(22:04):
in the town?

DM (22:10):
Now remember when in town would you suggest you stay?
Because, again, remember, thereare three of you a dire wolf,
two wolves and seven goblins.
And where'd?

Iquium (22:28):
you say the BNB was, it's just under Manor.

Zanros (22:32):
So over to the east of town.
It's a building in ruins.

DM (22:37):
It's a building in ruins.

Iquium (22:37):
Yes, Okay, still.

DM (22:43):
So I mean your option is you could.
You could camp outside of town.
You could set up camp just justoutside of town and and spend
the night, take a long rest.
Yeah, I would, sildar.
Sildar is going to, because hejust needs to get to town.
So Sildar is going to ask thatyou Drop him off at the

(23:07):
Stonehill Inn.
And he is, he is going, he isgoing to lodge there for for the
night and rest up.
Okay, literally, drop him.

Zanros (23:19):
Like roll him off the card Wow.

DM (23:24):
As long as you are, you are not a five star Uber driver at
all.
Your rating just went way down.
Tell you what, sildar, couldyou get the pullout?

Iquium (23:31):
caught for Vincent there in your room Trying to conserve
funds there until we get paid.
Absolutely.
There's a pullout couch.

DM (23:40):
The pullout couch in the in the, in the little sweet area of
the of the room, so definitelysomewhere in Fendale and there's
an artificer slash furnituremaker making pullout couches.

Iquium (23:52):
Yes, absolutely.

Dal (23:52):
Yeah.

DM (23:55):
So you're going to, you're going to make camp just outside
of town.

Dal (23:57):
Correct.

DM (23:58):
Yes, okay, hang on.
I have to get our our ampereand we have to get our ambient
music.

Iquium (24:02):
Oh, nice, nice.

DM (24:04):
Courtesy of pocket barred.
Okay, so you have taken a longrest, not that you not that you
needed it, but this will help.
This will definitely helpVincent.

Zanros (24:17):
Yeah, poor Vincent.

DM (24:20):
Poor, poor Vincent.
So Vincent will be all, allhealed up.

Zanros (24:25):
Oh, vincent healed both, both broken legs and A
dislocated shoulder.

DM (24:33):
It's amazing.
All is better, all right.
So now you are.
You are waking up, sun isrising over the horizon, it's a
beautiful day and I'm going togo to the camp site In Fandain.

(25:01):
Are you going to?
Are you going to leave?
Are you going to leave all thegoblins here and there Like what
are you going to?
Are you going to leave stuff atcamp?
Or is like the wolves Like whatdo you?
What are you bringing into townand what are you?

Zanros (25:16):
leaving at your, your, campsite.
I'm going to take the wolves atthe campsite because that's
going to look a little menacingif we wander into town with our
entire entourage.

DM (25:31):
Yeah, that's an excellent thought.
So there's going to be thethree of you.
Probably the dire wolf probablydo you want to bring Cali with
you into town.

Iquium (25:44):
It's not a big town.
It's not a big town.

DM (25:50):
You've heard, you've heard a little about the red brands,
but you know very little, youdon't know much about them.
So you don't, you don't knowhow much of a threat they are in
town, but you just you've heardthe name, you've heard, you've
heard the goblins on your, onyour, on your, on your drive
into town.
You're driving to town, you'retalking with the goblins and

(26:14):
everything.
You heard this name about thered brands brought up.
But you don't know, you knowthey're kind of troublemakers,
but you don't know what, what tomake of them yet.

Iquium (26:25):
So I think I want to bring.
So are we coming from the north, from the Tribor Trail, correct
?
Okay, so that we discoveredBarthens was closed.
I'd say I would bring Callie asfar as Barthens, but maybe not
into town, okay, just to whereshe can scope out a place to put

(26:51):
her disguise on.
Her cow disguise, yeah, reallybad cow disguise.
Yeah, so we'll go at least thatfar.

DM (27:04):
All right, so you're going to head to Barthens Provisions
this morning.
Barthens is open, so I'll giveyou a little bit of the
background of BarthensProvisions here.
Barthens Provisions is thebiggest trading post in
Fandaland.
It stocks most ordinary goodsand supplies, including

(27:26):
backpacks, bed rolls, rope, rations all the typical supplies
you would need.
It's open from sun up to sundown, so that's why you just
missed it.
Barthens doesn't stock weaponsor armor, so if you need that,

(27:47):
you have to go elsewhere in town.
Elmira, like I said, elminaBarthens is the proprietor.
When you walk into the storeyou see her behind the counter.
She's a young, human woman, thekindly manner.
There's a couple of clerks aswell and they wait on the

(28:13):
customers and everything.
So these two clerks come up toyou and say how can we help you?

Iquium (28:23):
I'm actually here to deliver something to you.
I need to speak to Elmina.

DM (28:30):
Oh, certainly she's right there behind the counter.
Thank you.

Iquium (28:36):
I go up to Elmina and I show her Gundren's letter and I
said I have a delivery for you.
Specifically, I was deliveringthese to Gundren and Roxy.

DM (28:49):
Oh, yes, yes, We've been waiting.
Where is Gundren?
We haven't seen him.

Iquium (28:56):
We don't quite know.
I was going to ask you ifyou've seen him.

DM (29:02):
No, I knew he was coming this way, but I haven't seen or
heard of him.
I was starting to growconcerned.

Iquium (29:11):
Well, I brought you the wagon of provisions.

DM (29:14):
Wonderful.

Iquium (29:15):
When was Gundren last here?

DM (29:19):
Oh, it's been some time.
He comes in and out.
He's been spending a lot oftime in the mountains looking
for something, but he hasn'tbeen in town for some time.

Zanros (29:42):
Do you know what he's looking for?

DM (29:45):
He never says he's very excited, but he never says what
he's looking for.

Iquium (29:52):
Did he say generally where he was in the mountains,
or just in the mountains?

DM (29:56):
No, just in the mountains.
He's been very secretive abouteverything.

Iquium (30:02):
Well, perchance you don't happen to carry dire wolf
goblin beorns, do you Justlooking for a little collar
slash harness thing that I canput on my companion?
Now is this are we?

(30:23):
Are we inside?
By the way, yes, we are inside.
Okay, and I would ask just asimple favor, just so I don't
alarm anyone, because mycompanion is a rather well,
maybe you'd like to come andmeet my companion.

DM (30:42):
Sure Ander this all outside.

Iquium (30:49):
So I take Elmina out and I and I whistle for Callie, who
is just nearby, not just kindof skulking around, but anyway,
just she knows to remain out ofsight when we're in town.
So I figured this is nodifferent and I introduced them
to Callie.

DM (31:11):
That is quite an enormous animal.

Iquium (31:15):
Yeah, so I don't want to .
You know, obviously I came tomeet you.
You know Gundren, I knowGundren, and really my only hope
is that I can give Callie aplace where she can kind of you
know, kind of watch.
She'd be helpful to you andeverything, but just so she
remains out of the way.
So people don't get alarmed, because you know, a small town

(31:40):
like this, a dire wolf might bea bad thing in some people's
eyes, since we're on the edge ofthe wilderness.

DM (31:51):
So you'd like some lodging for.

Dal (31:54):
No, I just wanted to know if it's OK.

Iquium (31:56):
If she, you know, if there's places, she'll be fine
on her own.
But if she knows you, you know,it's just that much more
comforting for me to know thatshe's around somebody.
And if anybody causes troublefor you, you know, you can tell
them.
You can just tell her to fetchand she'll go get them.
They might not survive butshe'll fetch for it.

DM (32:22):
Well, there certainly has been some trouble in town, so it
wouldn't hurt to have someprotection.

Iquium (32:30):
So Maybe we could just kind of just come to an
arrangement of you know, lettingher prowl around, and that way
you have some protection nearby.
If, what are the reasons youneed protection?

DM (32:51):
Well, I don't know what you've heard, but there are some
unsavory characters in town.
They've been shaking down allthe businesses and we don't have
a sheriff or anything.
So they're kind of takingadvantage of that fact that

(33:12):
there isn't an authority systemhere in town and they are taking
full advantage of that fact.
It's making it very hard to dobusiness.

Iquium (33:29):
I think, speaking for myself and my trust and
companion, callie, I would speakto my friends and see and maybe
we could be a little Challengefor those people shaking you
down, because I don't like tohear that you seem like a very

(33:52):
nice person.
If Gundren sent me to you, thenyou're good with me.

DM (33:59):
Any help we could get would be tremendous.
It's just Like I said, all thebusiness people in town, the
whole Chamber of Commerce.
When we get together, we talkabout this and they're making it
, like I said, very hard to dobusiness here.
We're just trying to rebuildthis small town and they're the

(34:25):
criminal element in town andit's making it difficult for
people to want to stay here.

Zanros (34:33):
I mean, I think we need to do something.
Then, guys, because if I'mgoing to open the B&B here, I
cannot have an unsavory element.
How will I attract tourists?

Iquium (34:47):
Let me now allow me to introduce.

Zanros (34:51):
Hi, I'm Zanrose Zanrose Bumblebumble.

DM (34:58):
Bumblebumble, the name sounds familiar.

Zanros (35:05):
My family owns the Trissenter Manor out on the edge
of town.

DM (35:12):
Oh my, that old rundown place.

Zanros (35:16):
I'm sorry what.

DM (35:18):
Well, I don't, I mean no offense, but it's kind of fallen
into disrepair.
No one from the Bumblebumblefamily has been here in years.

Zanros (35:32):
That is true, my family doesn't tend to like to leave
home, but I'm going to make it abeautiful B&B breakfast, lunch
and dinner included.

DM (35:44):
That would be lovely.
That would certainly attractpeople to this town.

Zanros (35:49):
Yes, but not if there's a criminal element here.

DM (35:53):
You're absolutely right.
As a representative of theChamber of Commerce, would you
be willing to join as a member, and we would love to have you.

Zanros (36:06):
Absolutely.

DM (36:07):
We meet on the third Tuesday of every month at the Stonehill
Inn for breakfast and we talkabout how we can work together
as a business community in townand how we can attract people.
There's a tourism subcommitteethat you might want to be a part

(36:29):
of.

Zanros (36:30):
That's excellent.
I'd also like to talk to theproprietor of the Stonehill Inn
about what kind of spirits hehas available, so that maybe I
can offer some local beveragesin addition to my really
fabulous menu that we haveplanned.

DM (36:47):
I'm sure you could definitely go over there.
There are just a couple ofbuildings down from here.

Zanros (36:54):
Excellent.

DM (36:56):
Lovely.
It's so nice to meet you.

Zanros (36:59):
Thank you.
It's nice to meet you too,Elmina May.
I call you Elmina May.

DM (37:04):
Wonderful.
So while you're having thisconversation with Elmina, andrew
and Thistle, her two employeeshave completely unloaded all the
provisions that you were thereto deliver to her, and Elmina

(37:28):
pays you the agreed upon 10 goldpieces each.
So she is very grateful for youbringing those.

Zanros (37:39):
Cha-ching.

Dal (37:42):
Right to the Bumble Bumble B&B savings.

Zanros (37:45):
Exactly the Bumble, bumble.
I'm just trying to findsomething else with the Bumble
Bumble savings account.

Dal (38:01):
The Bumble, bumble, bureaucracy savings.
So when one of your employeesmesses up, wait five or ten.

DM (38:11):
Ten, ten gold pieces each.

Iquium (38:15):
So yes, Did Sildar give us gold because he was going to
give us gold to get him to fandown right?

DM (38:30):
Sildar did not have any gold on him.
Sildar is going to procure aloan in which he can repay you
once he has recovered from hisinjuries.
He hasn't left town.
He's still at the Stonehill Inn, so he's going to.

(38:53):
As soon as he's able, he'sgoing to secure funds to pay you
the 50 gold pieces.

Dal (39:02):
Did we also drop off the extra supplies that we got from
the Cragmaw?

DM (39:08):
You have not yet.

Zanros (39:09):
No, because those are supposed to go to Lion Shield
Costa.

Dal (39:15):
Oh yeah.

DM (39:18):
That is correct.

Zanros (39:20):
I paid attention.

DM (39:22):
I'm so glad.

Iquium (39:26):
But are we supposed to give them?
Are we supposed to deliver thewagon and the oxen to Elmina as
well, or those ours to use?

DM (39:36):
Those are Elmina's property.
But if you, you can we justwant to ask her.

Iquium (39:45):
If you know, I'll ask her if we can, you know, just
utilize the wagon to return this, you know, property to Lion
Shield Costa.

DM (39:55):
Oh, so certainly.
They're just right down on theother side of the town center,
so you can bring it down thereand just return it here.
That's perfectly fine, I would.
I am truly concerned aboutDundran.
If you can find him, that wouldmean so much to me.

(40:19):
He is such a dear friend.
So please, please, don't giveup on him.

Iquium (40:27):
Please find him, oh well , I also promised to buy him a
drink once we dropped you offthe provisions.
So unfortunately, you know, wewe found we feel we found Sildar
Hall winter, so we don't knowwhere Gundran is.

(40:48):
Oh no, and Sildar was prettybanged up, so we have him down
at the Stone Hill in and we'regoing to go see him and then
return the stuff to to LionShield Costa, and then we'll
return the wagon and oxen to you.

DM (41:04):
Wonderful.
Okay, well, thank you.
Please, please, let me knowwhat you, what you find of and
here of Gundran.

Iquium (41:14):
Absolutely.

DM (41:18):
Fabulous.
So you have completed the taskof of delivering the provisions.
To Exactly, check that one off, check them.
Where would you all like to gonext?

Zanros (41:38):
We should run by Lion Shield, costa, right yeah.

DM (41:42):
All right, so you want to.
You want to continue down thepath to Lion Shield Costa.

Iquium (41:47):
Yeah, yeah Is it?
Is it worth stopping at StoneHill in to see Sildar, or should
we just come back and seeSildar after that?

Dal (41:59):
Come back yeah.

Zanros (42:01):
I can come back, so you got to pass it going both ways.

DM (42:05):
If we're returning the cart and oxen, you can always stop
there for a lunch after youcomplete your morning errands.
Okay, so you you pull up to theLion Shield Costa.
A wooden sign shaped like ashield and painted with a blue
lion hangs above the door ofthis trading post.

(42:27):
The building is owned by theLion Shields, a merchant company
based in the city of Yartar, over a hundred miles to the east
.
They ship finished goods toFandelen and other small
settlements throughout theregion, but this outpost has
been hit hard by Banditry.

Zanros (42:49):
Not Banditry.

DM (42:51):
Banditry.

Zanros (42:52):
Banditry.

DM (42:54):
The most recent Lion Shield Caravan, due in Fandelen, never
arrived and you all know whathappened with that.

Iquium (43:02):
Yes, yeah, I think Now we I'm sorry I'm going to- Go
ahead the provisions that we gotthere were all marked with the
emblem of Lion Shield, costaCorrect.
So we haven't opened any ofthese things.

DM (43:24):
Correct, not that.

Iquium (43:26):
I don't know, do I have you?

DM (43:27):
No, Not that I remember.

Iquium (43:29):
Questioning whether we should or not.

Zanros (43:33):
Oh what was included in those provisions.

DM (43:38):
You don't know.
You don't know what's in these.

Iquium (43:40):
We don't know these provisions.

DM (43:41):
I mean, we know the other.

Iquium (43:43):
we had all the you know packed provisions for Gundar and
Sildar Gundar and Sildren.
Yes, Is it.
Is it Sildar or Sildren?
It's.
Sildar no because she said likeit's.

Zanros (43:55):
Gundar instead of Gundren, so it's Gundar and
Sildren.

DM (43:59):
Gundar and Sildren.

Iquium (44:00):
I was thinking they sounded like a new Sigfried and
Roy, but you know that's, that'stotally different.

DM (44:06):
Gundren and Sildar Amazing, and they're direwolves.

Iquium (44:10):
And they're direwolves and they're direwolves, couldn't
resist.

DM (44:21):
New traveling show.

Iquium (44:27):
We had trouble with capital T and that rhymes with
fee and that's for Fendalen.

DM (44:38):
Oh my.

Iquium (44:40):
And all of a sudden we opened the crates and they're
all musical instruments.

Zanros (44:43):
Yeah, right Starting a band.

Dal (44:47):
That's what you do with the extra goblins.
They have entertainment.

Zanros (44:49):
Yes.

Dal (44:50):
Live dinner.

DM (44:51):
Seven is extrambles.

Iquium (44:55):
How many?

Zanros (44:55):
goblins we had seven goblins.
Seven goblins, yes.

Dal (44:57):
It's bigger than a Mariachi band, six plus Vincent.
Oh, okay, okay.

Iquium (45:02):
Imagine having a goblin Mariachi band follow you around
through town.

Zanros (45:06):
That would be amazing, that would be so funny.
In fact, I think we should wedrive the bandits out of town.

Dal (45:10):
We annoy the shit out of them.

Zanros (45:15):
They're trying to hold people up and we've just got the
goblin Mariachi band behind.
Give us a like money.
That's the way they go.

Dal (45:23):
They're walking through town.

DM (45:30):
Boom, boom boom.

Zanros (45:37):
Just make, yeah, just stop, oh my God.

DM (45:41):
So what are you doing?
You're at the Lion ShieldCoster.
What would you?

Zanros (45:52):
I think we should open these up before we take them in.
Make sure there's nothing inthere we want You're going to
steal.

DM (46:01):
You're going to steal from someone.

Iquium (46:04):
No, I just want to understand what we're carrying
here.

Zanros (46:07):
I'm sorry.
All knowing Dungeon Master, didanybody ask?

DM (46:12):
I'm just asking questions, I think what is your alignment?
What is your characteralignment?
Damn it Foiled again.

Zanros (46:31):
Chaotic, neutral.
Okay, go through these boxesand feel a little chaotic.

DM (46:44):
It's up to you.
What would you like to do?

Zanros (46:46):
I'm not saying we take anything necessarily.

Iquium (46:49):
I'm just saying maybe we look we're carrying and
understand what we're carryingand also see if it's worth a
reward.

Dal (46:59):
What we're supposed to get paid 50, right.

Zanros (47:02):
But that's just for getting Seldar here.
We already did that.

Dal (47:06):
No, I wait.

Iquium (47:07):
How, how, what are we talking about?
Are we going to have to take apry bar to them?

DM (47:15):
You are going to have to.
They are sealed.

Dal (47:22):
Nailed shot.
See it All of our money.
Think the supply is where we're50 if we brought them back,
unless my writing is wrong, which it very well could be.

Zanros (47:34):
Wait, are we getting 50 gold pieces for returning these?
Why are you looking like youdon't know?

Dal (47:41):
I don't know, If there's one thing I do take notes on
it's money.
I may have said that I may nothave.

Iquium (47:48):
It depends on the notes you wrote.

Dal (47:50):
That's what I wrote down.

Zanros (47:51):
I mean if we're getting 50 gold for returning it.

Dal (47:55):
Well, because I wrote about a Seldar after this.

DM (48:01):
So what would you like to do ?

Zanros (48:03):
I'd like to get money.

Dal (48:05):
I say we don't look through the crates.

Zanros (48:07):
Everybody's talking about how ruined my B&B is.
I'd like money.

Dal (48:13):
My Seldar.

DM (48:16):
My Seldar is crazy.
Yes, would you like to.
What do you want to do?
Are you going to go into theLion Shield Coster?
Yeah, I mean giving it to them.

Iquium (48:28):
What do we know about Lion Shield Coster?
I mean giving it to them.
What do we know about LionShield Costar?
But they, I thought I heard yousay they ship finished goods.

DM (48:41):
Yeah, so they're a rather large company.
This is a trading post owned bythe Lion Shields.
They're a merchant company.
Their headquarters is 100 mileseast of here, but they deliver.
They deliver finished goods tothis weaponry armor shields, et

(49:04):
cetera, that type of stuff.
But you don't know that, youdon't, you've not.

Iquium (49:13):
Oh, we don't have any experience with that.

DM (49:16):
We, I'm just telling you You're telling me not Right.
Gotcha, you have not.
You have not heard of LionShield, costar, because you've
come from Neverwinter andthere's no outpost there.

Iquium (49:31):
See, my curiosity is like what are the Goblin Steel?

DM (49:35):
But if you're pretty torn, the Goblin Goblin stole
everything.

Iquium (49:36):
They, they just stole everything, they stole
everything.
But, but what we know?

DM (49:43):
This was the only stuff that was labeled, that you knew it
belonged to somebody else, because you opened the chest and
everything there was.
There was other stuff that youfound but that was not
identified, but this, this, hada specified owner to it.

Iquium (50:00):
Okay, Um, well, here's, here's my question.
So is a chiefly an armory?
Well, let's go in and talk tothem.
And my, my thought is this ifwe go in and talk to them, we

(50:22):
give them sealed crates.
Are they worth more?
I don't know, I don't know.
I don't know, I don't know Idon't know, I don't know, I
don't know, I don't know, Idon't know, I don't know.
Do you have?
Do you have an qualité?
Or because, of course, myalignment is lawful?

Zanros (50:42):
So am more likely to don't break into their crates.

Dal (50:45):
We will be in their good graces.
Perhaps that's fair.
You're gonna open up B and B N.
Yeah, wow.

Zanros (50:57):
You're really giving me the stare down.

DM (51:00):
And what's your?
What's your alignment to?

Dal (51:02):
Joe.

DM (51:08):
I can't say that five times fast.
Ok, so you're going to enterthe line Shield Coster.
So there's a woman by the nameof Linene, linene Greywind.

Iquium (51:28):
Linene Greywind.

DM (51:31):
Actually I have a little picture of Linene for you.
Here's Linnean.

Zanros (51:36):
Oh she looks nice.
I like her pointy boots.

DM (51:43):
And Linnean says welcome, welcome you.
I don't recognize you are.
Where have you come from?
I haven't seen you in townbefore.

Iquium (51:57):
Well, we came looking for my friend Gundren Rockseeker
, who had asked me to escort awagon of supplies for him.

DM (52:09):
Oh yes.
Yes, I know, I know Gundren.
He's been in here before.

Iquium (52:13):
Oh well, in our we we seem to have run across some
crates that have your symbol.

DM (52:21):
Really, you found them.
Yes, I've been waiting for them.

Iquium (52:27):
Well, we found them.
And Gundren's horses, on theroad coming up the Troy board
trail Ran into some trouble.
And well we found, we foundyour crates and we wanted to
return them to you.

DM (52:45):
Well, that is that is very nice of you.
You know it.
Where?
Where are they?
Do you have them with you?

Iquium (52:53):
Have them in the wagon outside.

DM (52:55):
It's fabulous.
Leneen goes running outside andis looking at all the crates
and she's very aware she knowsexactly what was supposed to be
delivered.
So she's you kind of see hercounting the boxes, looking at
them, inspecting them, andnotices that everything to her,

(53:16):
everything seems to be there.
She's like this is, this iseverything that I've been
waiting for, thank you, thankyou so much.
I couldn't, I couldn't possiblybegin to repay you, but allow
me this.
This is, this is just a small,a small token of my thanks, and
she gives you 50 gold pieces, not each, 50 gold pieces total.

(53:38):
As a small thank you.
She's like it's, it's so.
It's been so difficult thesedays between what's going on in
town With with the red brandsand provisions.

(53:59):
Provisions are I don't know.
I don't know what's been goingon outside of town, but things,
a lot of things seem to to keepgoing missing.

Iquium (54:09):
So what kinds of things have have you seen?
Because we, to be completelytransparent, we just spoke to
Elmina, so we're just trying toget an understanding of, like
all the things, like what do youknow?
It's most generous of you.
I'm glad we could return yourproperty, by the way.

DM (54:30):
Again, thank you.
Thank you so much for that.
No, it's the these red brands.
They keep.
They keep coming around tryingto extort money from the
businesses in town.
They keep they want to comehere and buy weapons, but I know
they're no good so I refuse tosell them any weaponry or arm or

(54:52):
anything like that.
I'm not, I am not going tosupport, support them.
But they keep coming in heretrying to trying to take, take
money from the business peoplein town and it's, it's been
absolutely terrible.
It's people.
People don't want to come out, people don't want to shop in our
stores for fear of beingattacked by the red brands.

(55:12):
They're just, they're just aterrible group of people.

Iquium (55:17):
So they've come here looking for weapons.
But you wouldn't sell themweapons, but they're.
They haven't threatened you oranything.
Have they or they?
Are they just threatening otherpeople that are coming into
town?

DM (55:29):
Well, if I don't, if I don't pay them, oh so, you're having
to pay them like I have to.
I have to, I have to pay themto for protection, because if I
don't they might burn the placedown.
They you see, you see what theydid to the Trissender manner.
What oh.

Zanros (55:51):
I'm sorry.

Iquium (55:54):
Allow me to introduce my , my friend Zanros.

Zanros (55:57):
Hi, I'm Zanros Pemblebombo.
Yes, family owns the Trissendermanner.

DM (56:03):
Oh my.

Zanros (56:04):
I was coming here to open it as a B&B.

Dal (56:10):
She's whole plans Great.

Zanros (56:15):
I have a quick question for you.
So your accent sounds like it'sfrom Waterdeep, but I thought
you said you were from neverwinter Equine.
Have you ever heard an accentlike that on somebody who is
from never winter?

Dal (56:34):
Hmm, can't say that I have.

Zanros (56:43):
Tell me you put on a fake accent.

Iquium (56:48):
You're hiding something from us.

Zanros (56:52):
I thought we were friends.

Dal (56:54):
Well, I just got a little bit stuck in it.

Zanros (57:00):
Oh see, that's more of the accent I've heard before.
Never winter.

DM (57:08):
It's definitely starting to sound more like someone from
never winter, right?
Yeah, yeah.

Zanros (57:14):
Sorry, I didn't mean to put you on the spot like that,
but it just kind of occurred tome.
All right Back to the records.
Where do we find them and howdo I kill them?

DM (57:26):
I don't think you want to go looking for trouble.

Zanros (57:30):
I don't think I want them messing up this town when
I'm trying to open a business.
I'm going to be joining theChamber of Commerce Thank you,
I'm going to be joining theChamber of Commerce and the
Tourism Subcommittee.
Obviously, and we need to makethis a town where people

(57:54):
actually want to come.
So I'm happy to go.
Look for the red brands.
Listen, we got a lot to do.
We got a foreign country, we'vegot to get the red brands.
We've got to apparently rebuildan entire B&B.
I only have seven employeesright now.

DM (58:12):
Sounds like you're going to be a very busy person.

Zanros (58:17):
I mean yeah.

DM (58:20):
Well, if you're looking for trouble, Sounds like I am.
The place you could start isthe sleeping giant, so the place
is called the sleeping giant, the place is called the sleeping
giant, so we're not, we're nottaking on a sleeping giant, I'm

(58:42):
just making sure, better, betterto be sure.

Iquium (58:46):
It's a large sleeping giant.
They set up a bar while he wassleeping.
He hasn't woken up since, andif you wake the giant then the
whole bar is flipped.

DM (58:55):
That's right, it's built on top of a sleeping giant.
The sleeping giant is another.
It is a roll for well.
Yeah, roll, history check 16.

(59:16):
So the sleeping?
So you.
So you're talking with Lenineand Lenine tells you about the
sleeping giant.
It's a run down tap house, dirty, dangerous watering hole
at the end of the main street ofVan Dahlen.
It is frequented by the redbrands and operated by a Surly

(59:42):
orc named Greska.

Zanros (59:47):
I love more than a Surly orc.

DM (59:50):
That's really should be the name of it the Surly orc.
That's a great name.

Iquium (59:55):
I got to write that down .

Zanros (59:57):
But how many of these red brands?

Iquium (59:58):
are there, would you say .
That was my next question.
Oh, just rough estimate, ifnothing else, unless you have a
specific number.

DM (01:00:16):
There are.
There are many of them in town.
You're you're likely to runinto quite a few of them.

Zanros (01:00:25):
There's quite a few less than 10, more than 10, less
than 50.

DM (01:00:33):
They, they don't, they don't .
Hang out in in big groups, usually in teams of two to three
.
You see them going in and outof the shops extorting us for
money, but you, I know I can'ttell you how many there are of
them in general.
I don't.

(01:00:54):
I've never seen.
I've never seen.
I don't know where they hideout, so why?

Zanros (01:01:00):
do?
I feel like it might be at theBumblebumble B&B.

DM (01:01:06):
I don't know.
I know where they.
I know where they like to drink.

Zanros (01:01:09):
It's not far from the Bumblebumble B&B.

Iquium (01:01:15):
It's very conveniently located.

DM (01:01:18):
It certainly is.

Zanros (01:01:20):
Listen, one of the one of the charming aspects of the
Bumblebumble B&B is that it's awalking distance to the entire
town.

DM (01:01:29):
Fandelen is a walkable town.

Zanros (01:01:33):
Park your horse and walk everywhere.

Iquium (01:01:37):
That's me scry.
I'm going to look.
I'm going to visit Fandelen.
Let me scry walkable towns,Fandelen, oh, look at that.

DM (01:01:50):
The ten most walkable towns on the sword goes.

Iquium (01:01:54):
So there's no sheriff constabulary of any kind here in
Fandelen, is that right, linnea?

DM (01:02:05):
Right, linnea, there is no.
You know the this?
We're kind of on the frontier,here it's.
We're just the town is justgetting rebuilt.
So there is no officialgovernment or law enforcement of

(01:02:28):
any kind.
We do elect a town master whokind of helps organize things.
He's the president of theChamber of Commerce.

Zanros (01:02:41):
And he is.
I'd love to meet him.

DM (01:02:44):
His name is Harbin.

Zanros (01:02:46):
Harbin.

DM (01:02:48):
Harbin Wester.

Iquium (01:02:55):
Harbin Wester, the town master of Fandelen, and he's,
he's elected, you said.

DM (01:03:06):
Yes, like I said, he's also the president of the Chamber of
Commerce, but he's it's on abiannual basis.
We have elections and so he'sbeen the most recently elected
town master, so he just kind ofhelps settle any differences
between people in town.

(01:03:27):
So, like I said, it's not avery established government, but
it helps to keep thingsorganized.

Zanros (01:03:36):
It sounds like he's doing a great job.
If we got red brands runningall over the place, we talk
about this at every Chamber ofCommerce meeting.

DM (01:03:48):
It's so difficult.
We try to stand up to them, buthave you thought about
arranging a mob.

Iquium (01:03:58):
There's seven coblins constituted mob, by the way.

Zanros (01:04:02):
I mean it's a good start .

Iquium (01:04:03):
It's certainly a good start.

Dal (01:04:05):
There's 12 more people, so not yet 12 more people as a mob.

Iquium (01:04:09):
Not quite.
We're getting close.

Zanros (01:04:11):
We have seven goblins and two wolves and the three of
us.

Iquium (01:04:15):
And a dire wolf.

Dal (01:04:17):
So, I think we might have a mob.

Zanros (01:04:18):
I think we have a mob.

DM (01:04:22):
Kill the beast.
Oh sorry, and when Ian sayspitchforks, do you say
Pitchforks and torches?

Zanros (01:04:28):
Listen, we got an extra two gold after we split up that
50, so maybe we can buy sometorches, pitchforks.

Dal (01:04:35):
Oh wait, how much was it after we split?

Zanros (01:04:36):
Signs.
Should be 16 gold each, and thenwe do have two left.

DM (01:04:42):
Go home, Red Brands.

Zanros (01:04:43):
Which I think we could probably throw to the coblins to
keep them happy.

Iquium (01:04:46):
Yeah, my thought is we, yeah, just exactly that is, we
use whatever leftover and turnit to silver.

Dal (01:04:55):
That's exactly what I was thinking.

Iquium (01:04:56):
That's good because First paycheck.
By the way, we're committing ahostile takeover of where you'll
be working.

Zanros (01:05:04):
Is there a bank in town where I can open a business
checking account?

DM (01:05:09):
As a matter of fact.

Iquium (01:05:11):
Get a free arcane toaster Every new account.

DM (01:05:16):
Harbin.
Harbin Wester actually runs thebank in town.

Zanros (01:05:21):
Of course he does.
I don't think I'm gonna likeHarbin Wester.

Iquium (01:05:27):
Hmm, he could be.

Zanros (01:05:30):
This is an election year , so so do you have some poster
board and some markers?

DM (01:05:38):
We're more of armor and weaponry here, but Barthens,
barthens might have those typesof supplies.

Iquium (01:05:46):
Fabulous Friends with them already so so can I ask you
prices of things for armor andweapons?
Sure.

Zanros (01:05:56):
How much armor and weapons can you even carry?

Iquium (01:06:00):
No, I don't.
My thought is to.
My thought is actually toWeaponize your staff.
That's a good idea.
Whatever they have, let's makeit a little better.

Zanros (01:06:17):
I mean they want to kill stuff.

Iquium (01:06:19):
So this is an opportunity for them to kill
stuff.
Here we go.
We have to clean up town.

Zanros (01:06:25):
Yeah, guys, we gotta clean this town up, and once
that's done, your jobs at theB&B can commence.

DM (01:06:33):
Okay, so what are you interested in purchasing?

Iquium (01:06:36):
Um.

Zanros (01:06:39):
I guess we're looking for seven shields.

Iquium (01:06:42):
Seven shields, seven.
Well, here's the big questionDid the goblins actually leave
their weapons in the caves?

Zanros (01:06:53):
Oh yeah, or did they take their stuff with?

Iquium (01:06:56):
them.
Well, they're gobbling andkutremont they're traveling with
, just out of curiosity.

Zanros (01:07:03):
Nothing I love more than goblin and kutremont.

Iquium (01:07:07):
Well, they didn't.
They found this in goblin andkutremont.

DM (01:07:11):
Their weapons really weren't anything of.
Anything great, anything great.
It was more for looks than itwas anything else because people
didn't really put up much of afight on the trail Because no
one they weren't expecting to beattacked, so it was more just
an intimidation factor.

Iquium (01:07:30):
Yeah so, but do we want to arm goblins who are only
recently?

Dal (01:07:44):
I think two or three paychecks then.

Zanros (01:07:47):
Yeah.

Dal (01:07:48):
Okay.

Zanros (01:07:49):
Once we've established a certain level of loyalty.
Yeah, that's what you'rethinking.

Iquium (01:07:55):
Well, my thought is, yes , we can use them as allies to
get rid of the red brands andhelp the town, and that way it's
kind of a dual purpose if we,if the goblins kind of Are
reformed, more or less Workingfor you in your B&B, but they

(01:08:21):
will obviously gain somenotoriety, having helped save
the town that they're notworking in.

Zanros (01:08:27):
Right.

Iquium (01:08:28):
That's just.
That's me thinking out loud.

Zanros (01:08:36):
Yeah, I mean, if they help get rid of the red brands,
it will certainly help thetownspeople feel more
comfortable with the fact thatthere's a bunch of potentially
Um shirtless bowtied goblinsworking at the B&B.

Iquium (01:08:51):
And it'll help if we can't find the Bermuda shorts
and they're going full poo bear.
It's probably better than yeah.

Zanros (01:08:59):
They have a little Chippendales goblin suit.

DM (01:09:03):
So if you are looking for standard gear for your goblins,
short swords and shields are 10gold piece each.
Wow, okay, fyi.

Dal (01:09:21):
I feel like we need to eat on those.

Iquium (01:09:25):
We could find, you know, like a Nicholas Cage type arms
merchant to sell us stolen goodsor something like that.
True?

Zanros (01:09:31):
Yeah, we could find some sticks in the woods.

Iquium (01:09:36):
Those are free Well you know, I mean if they, if they're
armed and we take out a few ata time.
Well, my thought is that ifwe're going, if we're going
through the town and if we go,we would have to pass Sleeping
Giant to go to the.

Zanros (01:09:55):
B&B.

Iquium (01:09:56):
Yeah, yes.
So I don't think that's thatfar of an assumption to think
that that's where the red brandsare hold up.

Zanros (01:10:09):
I think that's a safe assumption.
Yeah.

Iquium (01:10:12):
And basically they have what looks to be high ground, so
Like the three of us can't goin.

Zanros (01:10:20):
Against them, no, but I feel like if just the three of
us go in, we're going to getdead.

Dal (01:10:30):
Safe assumption.

Zanros (01:10:32):
I know James is thinking thoughts yeah.

Iquium (01:10:36):
So they're usually seen in town, two or three at a time,
and they shake down themerchants.

DM (01:10:43):
Correct.

Iquium (01:10:45):
Is there a specific day that I asked Linnea?
Is there a specific day thatthey come and they take money
from you?

DM (01:10:54):
From me.

Iquium (01:10:55):
And I explained to Linnea that the reason I'm
asking is I want to get an ideaof how often they come into town
.
Or is it that just go toanother business and they rotate
through all the businesses?
Or do they just come on one dayand go to all the businesses?

DM (01:11:14):
They usually come in on Mondays because everybody gets
paid on Friday, so there's a lotof spending that happens over
the weekend.
So before we can deposit ourmoney at the bank on Mondays,
they come in first thing Mondaymorning and shake us down for a

(01:11:35):
good portion of what we'veearned over the weekend.

Iquium (01:11:38):
And then my feeling is, of course, harbin Western is
getting a deposit either way.
Otherwise, where are theykeeping all that gold?

Zanros (01:11:46):
Maybe it's at the B&B.
That would be a really nice wayto rebuild my B&B.

DM (01:11:54):
Harbin is an honest man, he would not take money from those
thugs.

Zanros (01:12:00):
Here's my problem.
If the money is at the B&B, dowe actually have to return it to
the townspeople rather thankeep it for ourselves?

Dal (01:12:07):
We can give them some.
They're like oh, look what wefound.

Zanros (01:12:10):
Oh, yeah, look what we found but I need the rest to
rebuild my B&B.
Did you say you lost?

Iquium (01:12:14):
a bag with a thousand gold in it.
We found the bag.
And nine gold.
There was nine gold in the bag,yet I guess they spent it all.
As an aside overall, outside ofgame, I'm always suspicious
when somebody says, oh, he's areally good man or a really
honest man, and I'm like I don'tbelieve you.

DM (01:12:41):
Roll an insight check.

Iquium (01:12:42):
I will roll an insight check.

DM (01:12:46):
We haven't done many rolls yet today, so 16.

Iquium (01:12:52):
Wait, wait, wait 18.

DM (01:12:58):
She appears to be 100% truthful.
She's just conviction, sheknows, harbin.
I mean, he's for youredification.

Zanros (01:13:15):
He is a pompous ass.

Iquium (01:13:17):
Yeah.

DM (01:13:19):
He's a dandy, he's a dandy, he's a dandy, wow, but he is.
He's a real fancy pants, but heis.
He's not very brave.
He's again.
We elected him.
This is all.
Lenine is telling you all thisinformation.

(01:13:41):
He's not a very brave man, sohe's not.
He's not one to stand up to thered brands, but he is an honest
man.
That much I can tell you.
He's a good man.

Iquium (01:13:53):
But if he's a fearful man, my thought is that he would
bend quite easily and kind ofbe submissive towards the red
brands, which he's technicallybeing because you still have
them in town, right.

DM (01:14:06):
Correct, yeah, so your thoughts are correct.
Okay, and they just.

Iquium (01:14:12):
I'm just workshopping something.
So I'm going to ask you this Isthere workshop in hand?
Hi fantasy?
I just I'm asking for a friend.
My thought is this Would youconsider a trade, would you
consider a trade of armor andweapons at some point, if I

(01:14:33):
could bring you protection, andI don't mean like shaking you
down protection, I mean riddingthis town of the red brands.

DM (01:14:43):
If you rid this town of the red brands, I would be willing
to offer you if.
Are you staying in town or youare, you just are you?
Are you protecting the town orwhat are you?
What are your thoughts?
Just getting rid of the redbrands?
Because my fear is someone in apower vacuum, someone is just

(01:15:06):
going to take their place.

Iquium (01:15:08):
Oh, clearly, clearly, you need some sort of can I
trust you.
All fair questions.
I mean, if you know Gundren, Ithink you would know the company
that I keep.
So you know that.
That's true, that's my thought.
But I've, clearly I've broughtyou your.
You know, the three of us havebrought you your supplies back
unopened and I think that meritsat least some trust.

DM (01:15:33):
Fair point, are you?

Zanros (01:15:35):
familiar with my family.
I know of the.

DM (01:15:40):
I'm originally from Neverwinter and I, I, I know the
Bumblebumbles.

Zanros (01:15:46):
So I met Iquium here not very long ago at all and I'd
say he's a trustworthy man and Iput my family's reputation
behind that.

DM (01:16:00):
I appreciate that.
I appreciate your, your words.
I will.
I would be ever in debt to, tothe people who removed the red
brands from from this town.
I would, I would be willing tooffer you a 25% discount on on

(01:16:24):
any purchases in my store aslong as, as long as the red
brands are not in this townanymore.

Iquium (01:16:38):
Just out of curiosity, since you have armor weapons,
what do?
You have in the way ofsomething that might fit say a
dire wolf.

DM (01:16:48):
I don't necessarily have anything here, but if you're
familiar with the Lion Shieldorganization, they've they've
been known to craft things on oncommissions.
If there's something you'relooking for in particular, I'm

(01:17:08):
sure we could have somethingbrought into town for you.
What did you have in mind?

Iquium (01:17:18):
A war collar for a dire wolf.

DM (01:17:21):
A war collar Interesting.
If I could take somemeasurements, I'm sure we could
have something constructed foryou.

Iquium (01:17:36):
I'll bring it by Wonderful, of course, outside of
this, my first instinct waslike whistle for the dog and
then freak out.
The entire town might not bethe way to go.

DM (01:17:51):
Might might not be yeah yeah , she's, she's.

Iquium (01:17:55):
She's having quiet time, getting lots of scritches from
Elmina.
So, yes, oh, by the way, whatwas Elmina's reaction to Cali
and her staff?
Can we, can we do it an insightcheck and see?
Elmina's yeah, or would it be acharisma?

DM (01:18:14):
You want to know Elmina Barthens reaction to Cali
Elmina's not.

Iquium (01:18:24):
She's not a dog person.

DM (01:18:25):
She's not a dog person, so she treats it like like any
other, like farm animal, whichis not necessarily the way you
would approach a dire wolf.

Iquium (01:18:38):
So kind of neutral maybe .

DM (01:18:41):
But yeah, she not overly like, oh my gosh, she, she
brings out some food and kind ofjust tosses it on the ground
for for Cali, okay, okay.
So do you want to make anypurchases at Lion Shield Coster

(01:19:05):
or are you going to?
Where do you want to?
What would you like to do next?
So you know, you know HarbinWester is the town master.
You know that much.
You know that the red brandstypically hang out at the
sleeping giant, or the Surly Orc, also known as the Surly Orc.

(01:19:28):
Other things in town, dow.

Dal (01:19:33):
Sister G.

DM (01:19:34):
You're looking for Sister G so, and you know, Sildar is at
the Stonehill Inn recuperating.

Zanros (01:19:44):
I would suggest we go nowhere near Trissunder Manor
until we have a little bit morein the way of force, because
we're in for a fight over there.

Iquium (01:19:52):
So, just as a reaction, as a sort of a plan of reaction,
if we meet them in streets nowthey come around on a Monday is
what we've gotten from linear, but they usually come around on
Mondays before people can makebank deposits suspicious.

DM (01:20:11):
Anyway, yes, why is this suspicious?

Iquium (01:20:16):
Why?
Because then the bandits get tomake the deposit at the bank
and not the merchants.

DM (01:20:23):
But they're not depositing at the bank, so so says we mean
yes, so right.

Iquium (01:20:28):
So, says everyone, because he's just perfectly like
.
Really I predict that I will bebeating him with that cane, but
anyway you beating somebodywith a cane.

Dal (01:20:40):
What Right yeah?

Iquium (01:20:45):
What.

DM (01:20:48):
Good luck to you.

Iquium (01:20:51):
You know, I looked at that.
I just looked at that again onmy character sheet because it
said unarmed strike.
And I'm like, why the hellwould I do an unarmed strike?

DM (01:21:00):
because it literally says this literally, because I want
to say zero.

Iquium (01:21:07):
It says you can punch, kick, headbutt or use similar
forceful blow and dealbludgeoning damage equal to one
plus strength modifier.
I would be healing them for twopoints.
That's right.
Every time I hit them.

Zanros (01:21:20):
We talked about it on the podcast last week.

DM (01:21:22):
Yes, we did.

Zanros (01:21:22):
Yeah, it's so funny.

DM (01:21:25):
I just I find it so funny that it's just like, it's like
the gentlest of touches.
Oh, you oh you naughty redbrand.

Iquium (01:21:44):
Yeah, and then I'll be going.
Eldridge blast mother.

Zanros (01:21:50):
Equium goes in for the unarmed strike and the red brand
is like they're flying.

Iquium (01:21:56):
Exactly, just watching till I get my dissonant whispers
fired up and karaoke night andit's all over.

Zanros (01:22:05):
Oh, karaoke would be good for the B and B.

DM (01:22:08):
Oh, karaoke night, I think.
I also think you need to havelike a trivia night.

Dal (01:22:13):
Yeah, absolutely.

DM (01:22:16):
All right.

Dal (01:22:18):
So, where?

DM (01:22:22):
what would you like?
What would you like to do next?
So you've got, you've got a lotof different options.
So so discuss and figure whereyou'd like to go next.

Dal (01:22:30):
Do you drop by the stone in stone in check on a silver.

Iquium (01:22:36):
Do you want it?
You were looking for somebody.
Do you want to ask Linne, because she's obviously giving
us some information?

Dal (01:22:42):
so she might be good one to ask.
How do you say her name correct?

DM (01:22:50):
Lenean Lenean.
Who Sister Gary L.

Dal (01:22:55):
Can I ask her about sister G?

DM (01:23:00):
You'd like to ask Lenean about sister Gary L.
So roll, roll an insight, rolla history check.

Dal (01:23:09):
Jesus Re-sure insight.
Okay yeah, wait, history,history, I got a 10.

DM (01:23:17):
You got a 10.
Lenean knows a little, has hasheard of, obviously, because
she's.
She's heard of sister Gary LBecause it's again, it's a very
small town.
She doesn't know much aboutabout her, but she knows that
you passed by.
You didn't know what it was butyou passed by the Shrine of
Luck and sister, sister Gary L,tends to the Shrine of Luck.

Dal (01:23:45):
Okay.

DM (01:23:46):
So if you're looking for sister Gary L she she lives
right near it.
So right here, right here onthe town center, you'll find the
shrine, so you could go overthere.
Roll another history check.

Dal (01:23:58):
Two.

DM (01:23:59):
So you all, you know that it is, it's just a stone shrine,
that's all, that's all you know.
You noticed it as you walked byit, as you try, as you walked
by it when you're heading fromBarthens provisions to Lion
Shield Coster.
But that's all you know, youjust, you just noticed a stone,
stone shrine, that was it.
And when he has told you thatsister Gary L is the one that

(01:24:23):
that tends to, tends to theshrine, so what's up?

Iquium (01:24:30):
I want to ask the need, if there's any, are there any
other?
Obviously we've just gottenthrough with, you know, a job
for Gundren and yes are thereother job boards or what have
you?
Is there a place where peoplepost jobs or is it at this Don't
Hill Inn, or anything that youcan tell us?

(01:24:50):
And do you have any juicygossip for us?
Oh, gossip, you say.
Why not?

Zanros (01:24:57):
We also might want to consider that Gundren is
probably not having the besttime right now, so at some point
we might want to think aboutwhen we're going to try to find
Gundren.

DM (01:25:13):
Right.

Iquium (01:25:13):
Right, but we think that he's been taken to Cragmaw
Castle right.

Dal (01:25:17):
Yeah.

DM (01:25:19):
You've heard of Cragmaw Castle.
You have no idea where CragmawCastle is.
I know you can see it on themap, but it's you.

Iquium (01:25:31):
Does my patron James know where it is in the real
world?

DM (01:25:35):
Unknowns to the party but knowns to you people, is the
location of Cragmaw Castle.
So, yes, there is a job board.
It is at the town master's hall, which is kind of like the town
hall.
There's, okay, there's a couple, a couple of prison cells there
and things like that.
So that's that's kind of ourmain main center of operations

(01:25:57):
for for Van Dahlen Great.
So if you're looking for anytype of jobs or anything you can
, you can, you can find thosethere.
Okay, so before the break notthat any of you listening know
there was a break, but beforethe break you were still you
were still at Lion Shield, coster or, or as Equium is

(01:26:19):
wanting to call it, lion Shield, costco swords and shields and
weapons and bulk.
So you found out a couple ofthings.
So you know, you know there isHarbin Wester, the town master.
If you're, if you're lookingfor for some jobs to do, there's
a job board there.
There's the Shrine of Luck thatthat Sister G is is maintaining

(01:26:43):
taking care of.
Sildar is at the Stonehill Inn.
The red brands are hanging outat the Sleeping Giant.
That's their, their wateringhole there.
There's other other places intown.
So so what would you like to donext Thoughts?

Iquium (01:27:02):
So do we know we?
We asked where the, we askedwhere the board, the jobs board,
was.
Yes, and you said it's on thetown master's hall.

DM (01:27:10):
Yes.

Iquium (01:27:11):
And will she give us just generalized directions to
where that is, comparably towhere we are now?

DM (01:27:18):
You.
You are basically right now, ifyou're.
You are standing in between theLion Shield Coster and the town
master's hall.
It is directly across thelittle path across.
It's right on that whole towntown kind of town square.
It's right on the southeasternside of of that area.

(01:27:39):
So it's right across, basicallyright across the street.
If you want to call, call thatfrom Lion Shield.

Iquium (01:27:45):
So, since it's across the street, what I'd like to do
is I'd like to take a look atthe jobs board and see what is
there before you know before.
Obviously, we have other thingsto do, but I just kind of want
to get an idea of what's outthere for us.

Zanros (01:28:01):
Would you?

Iquium (01:28:02):
Yes, I would, because I'd like to know like, if we're
going to be guns for hire, let'sgo all the way.

DM (01:28:12):
Allow me to.
What do you got?
I don't even know what you got.
I am really.
We're going to hang on onesecond.
I got to shuffle the deck.

Iquium (01:28:21):
I need to know that it does not say say deck of many
things.

DM (01:28:25):
On it it does not say deck of many things.
I almost, I almost said let meshuffle.
I have the deck of many things, but this is not it.
Before we go into this, I wantto just give a shout out to Dice
Dungeons and their quest decks.
This is the quest deck for thecrown and there are there are
numerous quests available inhere, so I am going to cut the

(01:28:49):
deck once.
Please draw three cards, Threecards.

Iquium (01:28:54):
Okay, do I look at them or do I give them to you?

DM (01:28:58):
You can just hand them to me .

Iquium (01:28:59):
Okay, oh boy.
So, somebody flicks you in theback of the head.
You, as a spellcaster, are nowdead.

DM (01:29:12):
So there are three jobs posted Three jobs.

Iquium (01:29:15):
Okay.

DM (01:29:15):
Fantastic, posted on this board that you may.
You may choose to choose any ofthese.
One says manor house for sale.
Highly motivated seller.
Sold as is.
It is not the trascender manor.

Zanros (01:29:34):
I was going to say he's trying to sell my house.

DM (01:29:36):
It is not the trascender manor, there's another one that
says an infection seems to bespreading in the eastern portion
of the town.
Any help will be accepted forfinding a cure.
Finally, a witch that someoneposted this job.
A witch cursed my son when hewas born, saying he would become
a beast on his 18th name day.

(01:29:57):
It is two weeks until thecelebration and I don't know
what to do.

Iquium (01:30:02):
That's just an excuse for an ugly baby.

DM (01:30:05):
So those are some of the jobs available, and give me a
second.
So if you can figure out what'sgoing with the manor house for
sale, the manor house forsomeone keep keep notes on this
because I'm not going toremember the manor house for
sale job is paying 79 goldpieces.

(01:30:27):
The infection, the spreadingillness, is paying 59 gold
pieces and the witch, the sonwho was apparently cursed, is
paying 96 gold pieces.
If you so choose to pick any ofthose quests, I mean you've got
a lot of things going on, butthose are some of the jobs.

(01:30:49):
If you're looking for things todo, that's what's available to
you.
Thank you, dice Dungeons, foryour dice and your side quests.

Iquium (01:30:58):
Okay.

DM (01:30:59):
Sponsorships available, correct.
So you've checked out.
Now what do you want to do?
So you're in between LionShield Caster and the Town
Masters Hall it's now probablygetting close to noon somewhere
between 11 and noon in themorning because you've been to

(01:31:22):
Barthens provisions.
You've been to Lion ShieldCaster dropping off all the
things that you brought backfrom the cave.
What would you like to do next?

Iquium (01:31:33):
I think Dall wanted to meet.

Dal (01:31:38):
Sister G.

DM (01:31:39):
You want to meet Sister Garriel.
So again, the Shrine of Luck isright on the north side of this
little town square, so you'regoing to make your way over to
the Shrine of Luck.
I mean, you knew very little.
You got from Elanine, you gotvery little information about

(01:32:01):
the Shrine of Luck.
So now there's the Shrineitself, and Sister Garriel's
home is right next to the Shrine.
Do you want?
What would you like to do?
What would you like to do?

Dal (01:32:12):
You can knock on her door, I guess, see if anyone's home
who?

DM (01:32:17):
is it?

Dal (01:32:19):
Traveler from Neverwinter.

DM (01:32:21):
You don't sound like you're from Neverwinter.

Iquium (01:32:26):
Walks right into that one A little bit of a little
water deep tone, do you there?

DM (01:32:41):
And the door opens a little bit and you're standing at the
door because you knocked on thedoor.
So you see this young elf there, kind of as she opens the door
kind of eyes go very widebecause you are quite tall, so

(01:33:04):
you are very intimidating tolook at and Sister Garriel is.
You're assuming this is SisterGarriel because you know it's
her, because Lenine at leasttold you this was her house.
So you're under the assumptionthis is Sister Garriel.
She is very, I don't want tosay intimidated, but very leery.

(01:33:25):
She's just there's a lot of badthings that have been going on
in town and so she's just verycautious of and she goes who
sent you?

Dal (01:33:36):
No one sent me.
I just heard she put grapevine.

DM (01:33:39):
What have you heard?

Dal (01:33:41):
That you might have something I'm looking for.

DM (01:33:45):
Might I and what might this something be?

Dal (01:33:51):
Something pertaining to the goddess Seluna.

DM (01:33:54):
I think I know what you're looking for, but I don't have it
.
I tried and the door opens alittle bit, a little bit further
at this point, and SisterGarriel is taking it back
because she sees there's morepeople in the party and so she

(01:34:18):
kind of closes the door a littlebit and it is very hesitant
because, maintaining the shrineof luck, she's very concerned
about the red brands and things,so she's very concerned about
what's been going on in town andso she sees new people and she
doesn't know what to make of you.
How do I know I can trust you?

(01:34:39):
I know you're talking aboutSeluna I mean that is who the
shrine is dedicated to but again, how do I know I can trust you?

Dal (01:34:50):
I mean, I've traveled all this way just to see if you
might have something of minethat was stolen from me.

DM (01:34:59):
What was stolen from you?

Dal (01:35:02):
A certain artifact.

DM (01:35:04):
There is someone I know I think I can help you.
She asks you to come in, butnot the other two.
Rude, you will forgive me, butI need to be careful.

Zanros (01:35:23):
Probably won't forgive you, but that's fine.

DM (01:35:27):
It is only for my own self-preservation that I am this
cautious.
I'm 3.5.

Zanros (01:35:34):
I weigh 29 pounds.
How much damage could I do?

DM (01:35:38):
And how many packs a day do you smoke?

Zanros (01:35:40):
That's none of your business.
I'm a rock gnome lady.

Iquium (01:35:44):
I can't bench press a biscuit, so there's that.

Zanros (01:35:48):
I have to lift his lunch for him.

DM (01:35:51):
Fair, you don't seem like you're part of the red brands.

Zanros (01:35:58):
My ultimate goal is to take the Ultrasender Manor,
which my family owns, and turnit into the preeminent B&B of
this region.
So you'll be seeing a lot of me.

DM (01:36:12):
We get a lot of pilgrims that come this way to pray at
the shrine.
Perhaps they might stay at yourB&B once it gets built, oh.

Dal (01:36:26):
I might be able to forgive you then, Well, why don't you
all come in then?

DM (01:36:31):
Thank you, thank you, and please close the door behind you
.
I'll close the door.
You're now all inside SisterGarriel's home.
Sister Garriel starts tellingyou a story.
Have you ever heard of theHarpers?

Dal (01:36:47):
Very vaguely.

DM (01:36:49):
Very vaguely.
So roll a history.
Give me a history check.

Dal (01:36:56):
Six, you know what I mean.

Zanros (01:37:00):
Roll one because I've got a plus three on history.

DM (01:37:03):
Why don't you all?
Let's see if any of you knowanything about the Harpers 17.
17.
Equium, 16.
16.
17 and 16.
So the two of you, because youspend more time in Neverwinter.
You have heard of the Harpers,so you know.
The Harpers are gatherers ofinformation throughout Faerun to

(01:37:27):
help thwart tyrants and despots.
They aid the weak, the poor andthe oppressed.
Sister Garriel is a member ofthe Harper's.
Recently I was asked toundertake a mission.

(01:37:48):
I've been trying to persuade adangerous banshee named Agatha.
I've been trying to getinformation from her, but she is
also a keeper of items and Ibelieve this banshee may have
what you are seeking.

(01:38:09):
I underestimated Agatha's wrath.
When I attempted to speak withher before I fled for my own
life, I did notice that she hadmany, several items of value in

(01:38:32):
her possession and I believe ifyou bring something to her, you
might be able to get back whatyou are looking for.
And Sister Garriel goes back toher, her shelves and the pole,
opens a drawer and pulls outthis jeweled silver comb and

(01:38:57):
says try trading this for whatyou are looking for with the
banshee.
That may be helpful.

Dal (01:39:07):
Where would we find this banshee?

DM (01:39:11):
Agatha lives near Coneyberry .
She lives on the outskirts ofthe Neverwinterwood and she
lives in the Far East from here.
And just a metagame moment ifyou look on the map, you'll see
Agatha's lair.

Iquium (01:39:32):
There it is.

DM (01:39:35):
Agatha has a lair.

Iquium (01:39:41):
Her name is Agatha.
So I'm wondering, what kind oflike does it have?
You know like curtains and youknow blue and white china and
stuff like that.
I'm just curious.
I guess we'll find out.

DM (01:39:58):
You will find out.
So, Dal, Sister Garriel handsyou this jeweled silver comb and
gives you a hand-drawn map tothe location of where she last
encountered Agatha, so you canhopefully find her and trade.

(01:40:25):
You can either try trading orsomehow get back your item.
It is your looking for it, IfAgatha in fact even has it but
this is the only lead you'vegotten, so up to you how you

(01:40:47):
want to explore it.

Iquium (01:40:50):
I would think hair care for the undead is kind of a
growing market maybe.

DM (01:41:01):
Are Banshee undead.

Dal (01:41:04):
I'm telling you it's not to be dead.

DM (01:41:07):
I must now look this up.
Yes, a Banshee is a medium, undead, chaotic evil.
Also, by the way, dal, sisterGarriel asks you if you happen
to find there's a spellbook thatI'm looking for.
That is what the Harper sent methere for to find the spellbook

(01:41:31):
.
If you can find the spellbook,or what happened to it, please
let me know.
I will do that.
Thank you, and with that SisterGarriel disappears.
I'm just kidding.
Are we still in her?

Zanros (01:41:52):
house.
I was going to say we're in herhouse.

Iquium (01:41:56):
The truth is, Sister Garriel and Agatha were besties
and one took the other one'scomb.
That's right.

DM (01:42:03):
All right, so it's now about lunchtime.
Sister Garriel, again being thepolite person, offers to make
you a meal.
If you want to have lunch hereor do you want to continue on
going through town, what wouldyou like to do?

Iquium (01:42:26):
Well, my suggestion would be to check on Sildar.

Zanros (01:42:30):
That's what I was thinking.
I think we'll go across.

Iquium (01:42:34):
My thought is to go across the street and to the
Stone Hill.

DM (01:42:37):
And right, yeah, check it out in the center of town,
opposite the town green, standsa large newly built roadhouse of
fieldstone and rough hewntimbers.

Iquium (01:42:54):
Quick question yes, with or without Sam Elliott.

DM (01:43:00):
I don't know what was Sam Elliott in Roadhouse?
Yeah, I was gonna say itbecause I don't remember Sam
Elliott being Patrick Swayze.

Iquium (01:43:08):
Sam Elliott was the older guy.

DM (01:43:10):
Oh, got it.
I love Sam Elliott.

Iquium (01:43:13):
Love Sam Elliott.

DM (01:43:14):
Yes, Big Lebowski is like.

Iquium (01:43:16):
Absolutely.
I go to the Stone Hill Inn andI order a carcassian.
Thank you.

DM (01:43:28):
You got a cuss so much.

Iquium (01:43:34):
I'm really tempted now to walk into the Stone Hill and
go.
The carpet really pullseverything together.

DM (01:43:44):
There's one of the red brands named Lou and he's going
to come in and pee on the carpet, sorry, so you're gonna.
You're gonna go into the StoneHill Inn.

Iquium (01:43:55):
Look at her guy named Jesus.

Zanros (01:43:57):
I was just gonna say his .
Anyone named the Jesus here, the Jesus, the Jesus.

Iquium (01:44:01):
Jesus.

DM (01:44:02):
Jesus, you don't fuck with the Jesus.
Yes, and I'm going to grab thatgun, show it up your ass and
pull the trigger until the gungoes click.

Zanros (01:44:18):
Or fable.

DM (01:44:19):
Big Lebowski.
Big Lebowski references Sorry.

Zanros (01:44:24):
That's another one we need to add to the list of
movies we need to show fable.

DM (01:44:28):
Oh, oh God.

Zanros (01:44:30):
I'm not Lebowski, you are Lebowski, I'm the dude.

DM (01:44:37):
Is that what you wear on a weekday?
Wait, is this?
Oh my God.
Anyway, as you enter the StoneHill Inn, you come into the
common room.
It is filled with localsnursing mugs of ale and cider.

(01:45:00):
The room grows quiet and alleyes are now on you three.
As you stand there, a younghuman walks up to you.
He says greetings, hello, hello, hello.

Iquium (01:45:21):
Hello there.

DM (01:45:23):
I am Toblin.
This is my establishment.

Iquium (01:45:29):
Pleased to meet you, Toblin.

DM (01:45:31):
Cause no trouble and you are welcome to drink and eat.
Please feel free to findyourselves a table or sit at the
bar, whatever you choose.

Zanros (01:45:45):
I'm going to find a table.

Iquium (01:45:47):
It's fine.

Zanros (01:45:48):
I feel like bellying up to the bar, I'm going to have to
, have doubt, lift me onto a barstool.

Iquium (01:45:55):
We'd like to repeat episode one, the bar, episode
one of this campaign, not as athing.

DM (01:46:04):
So you're going to sit by yourselves.

Zanros (01:46:05):
I feel like we'd sit by ourselves near some other people
.
Yeah, okay, strategicallylisten to see what's going on
around us and if we need to stirshit up Danros is good at that
Just start handing out businesscards.

DM (01:46:25):
All right, so you got yourself a table.

Iquium (01:46:28):
One for you, and one for you, and one for you Come to
the B and B.

Zanros (01:46:31):
Come to the B and B.

Iquium (01:46:35):
So, just that's the way we get another Intel's handing
out business cards.
It's like I thought that placewas haunted, I thought that
place was filled with bandits, Ithought that place was filled
with monsters like whatever, andthen we'll get all the.

Zanros (01:46:46):
That's the way we get all the clues and what's there,
you don't say Our intelligencegathered mechanisms like new.

DM (01:46:55):
As you are.
You're so.
You guys are so funny.
You cracked me up as you'resitting at the table.
A dwarf comes up to the table.

Iquium (01:47:05):
I greet him in Dwarves.

DM (01:47:09):
She.

Iquium (01:47:10):
She.

DM (01:47:11):
Yes.

Iquium (01:47:11):
Fantastic.

DM (01:47:13):
She says I know what you're saying, but I can't quite pick
up the accent.
Where are you?

Zanros (01:47:22):
Where are?

Dal (01:47:24):

Iquium (01:47:27):
Well, never winter.

DM (01:47:30):

Iquium (01:47:58):

DM (01:49:31):

Dal (01:49:38):

DM (01:49:39):
You sure Staying hydrated is very important.

Zanros (01:49:50):

DM (01:49:56):

Zanros (01:49:57):
Well, yes, if your sister attends school in never
winter, you'd probably befamiliar with the Bumblebumbles.
That is my family.
I'm moving here to take overthe Trissender Manor for my
family and open a B&B.
Why does everybody have thisreaction guys.

DM (01:50:19):
I mean you're going to need quite a lot of work on that
place.

Zanros (01:50:25):
That's all right.
I have a small army of goblinsthat are willing to help.

DM (01:50:30):
You have goblins, how will you?

Zanros (01:50:33):
Yes.

DM (01:50:34):
Goblins are pretty nasty creatures.

Zanros (01:50:37):
All they want is to be understood and to be able to sow
and perform.

Dal (01:50:42):
It's true, they really want to make their own uniforms.
Yeah.

Zanros (01:50:45):
Interesting and hopefully we've got some decent
chefs in the group because wehave a very robust menu for the
B&B.

DM (01:50:57):
Interesting.
I can't wait Welcome.
Welcome to town, thank you.

Zanros (01:51:03):
Can I have a cider please?

DM (01:51:07):
A cider.
You, I'm most certainly Thankyou.
So one cider, one ale and ashepherd's pie for the horny one
.
She's a tea fling.

Zanros (01:51:22):
Tea fling.
She's very nice.
She does not discriminate basedon height.

DM (01:51:29):
Well, that's good to know.
We should be short ones, haveto stick together, all right.
So Elsa.
Elsa runs off and see herpouring, pouring she.
She places the ordering withthe kitchen, comes back she's,
she's pouring drinks at the bar.

Iquium (01:51:46):
Is it wrong?
I ask her if she wants to builda snowman.

Zanros (01:51:50):
Why isn't her sister named Anna?
Does she have another?

Dal (01:51:54):
sister.

DM (01:52:00):
There is not another sister.

Zanros (01:52:01):
Dang it.

DM (01:52:03):
I would like you all so.
Are you just sitting theretalking amongst yourselves?
What is what's tell me?
Tell me what's going on here inin Stone, at the Stone Hill Inn
?

Iquium (01:52:14):
I am definitely people watching.

DM (01:52:17):
Okay.

Dal (01:52:18):
Same.

DM (01:52:19):
Same and.

Zanros (01:52:20):
I'm listening.

DM (01:52:21):
Okay, so, if you're listening, give me a perception
check.
Actually, all of you give me aperception check, since you're
all kind of just taking, takingin everything that's going on.

Dal (01:52:34):
A four 24.

DM (01:52:36):
24.
20.
20.
Three.

Dal (01:52:40):
Perception is plus five.

Zanros (01:52:43):
Mine's plus one, but I rolled a three.

DM (01:52:47):
Got it.

Dal (01:52:47):
My history is plus one, so I rolled a one last time.

DM (01:52:51):
All right, let's see.
Let me think, equium, yeah, youover here someone at a table
nearby saying more somethingabout marauders have been
attacking trade caravans on theeast end of the tribe or trail.
Harbin's been looking forsomeone to run them off.

(01:53:12):
I think the goblins are workingwith the marauders too.
That's what you hear.

Iquium (01:53:17):
Okay, the east end of the tribe or trail the east end
of the tribe or trail.

DM (01:53:23):
So now you over here, tablin the inn, the innkeeper, talking
, talking about someone in townnamed fell den drawer, who's a
local woodcarver.
Something about him standing upto the red brands A 10 day ago
when they came by his shop andwas and was bullying his wife.

(01:53:46):
So the red brands were bullyingfell den drawer's wife.
The red brands provoked fightand murdered fell.
The red brands grabbed his bodyand now the wife, daughter and
son have gone missing.
That is what you hear.

Zanros (01:54:08):
I'm dead drunk and hear nothing.

DM (01:54:12):
You, Zanrose, are doing something what I like to call
thinking thoughts.
You are thinking thoughts.

Iquium (01:54:25):
Is there any thinking thoughts?
Music Just curious.

DM (01:54:35):
Little thought thinking.

Zanros (01:54:45):
What color should I make ?

DM (01:54:46):
the livens.
So Zanrose is often her ownlittle world thinking about the
Bumblebumble B&B.
Such a pain to waltz and here'snothing.
Elsa comes back with your aleequium Zanrose, your cider and

(01:55:06):
some shepherd's pie for the tallpurple Still a tiefling,
tiefling.
Thank you, I'm just, I don'tknow, I'm just, it's just, it's
a sight to behold.
So Elsa drops off your food andyour drinks.

(01:55:26):
You're going to.
What would you like to?
You want to continue?
Just obviously going to haveyour drinks.
What type of conversation isgoing on at the table?

Zanros (01:55:37):
Guys, where should we go next?
We've got like a million thingswe need to accomplish.
We probably, at some point, should go back and check on the
goblins.
We probably have to findGundren at some point.
Honestly, I think you'd be alittle more concerned about that
as your friend, yeah.

Iquium (01:55:58):
Well, I am very concerned for Gundren and this
is why I haven't said a lotabout it, because I don't know
who's on whose side here.
So it's just me trying todetermine if anybody else had it
out for Gundren in this townmore than anything.
So I want to do two things.

DM (01:56:20):
Yes.

Iquium (01:56:21):
One is I want to wait for a specific moment in order
to use a bit of distraction andor sleight of hand and take
Dell's shepherd pie.
But the other thing is man justget your own.

DM (01:56:43):
Okay, so you know.
You know what that entails.
Yeah, Slight of hand check.

Iquium (01:56:48):
Yeah, 13.
Down.

DM (01:56:53):
Roll a perception check 17.
So Iquium is kind of theconversation is going on at the
table and to Zen and see it.
Roll a perception.
Check, Zanros, to see if younotice what's going on 18.

(01:57:22):
So Iquium kind of throws the oldyawn, reaches his hands out and
grabs just the corner of theplate of the shepherd's pie and
starts to slowly slide it hisway, as kind of as as, as Dell

(01:57:42):
is listening to what's going on,zanros is thinking thoughts.
He's slowly sliding this, thisplate away, and then it kind of
hits a bump in the table, goesboom, and then all of a sudden
all eyes are on Iquium.

Iquium (01:57:59):
I stand up quickly and go.
Did you feel that?

Zanros (01:58:04):
Do not slick Dude we've all got the same amount of money
.

Iquium (01:58:10):
I was just kidding, because I know that I owe Dell a
shepherd's pie, and certainlywilling to buy you your
shepherd's pie this evening,because I don't think that I was
able to give you one that I hadgiven to Cali previously.
So I was just kidding around, sure.

Zanros (01:58:28):
Keep in mind, I'm going around telling people how
trustworthy you are and you'restealing If I'm having a little
fun with you.

Iquium (01:58:36):
Do we believe that?

Zanros (01:58:37):
Well, do you think he was just having fun, or do you
think he's hungry and sorry hedidn't order one for himself?

Dal (01:58:44):
He's feeling a little sorry for himself.

Zanros (01:58:47):
Going to eat his feelings.

Iquium (01:58:50):
I think I should roll a persuasion check.

DM (01:58:56):
Persuasion or deception.

Iquium (01:58:59):
Exactly.

DM (01:59:00):
Are you being honest with them?
Are you being honest with themor?

Iquium (01:59:06):
I'll tell you.

DM (01:59:07):
I'll text you.

Iquium (01:59:10):
We'll let them wonder and I'll text you.

DM (01:59:15):
And what was your role?

Iquium (01:59:16):
I said it to you.

DM (01:59:17):
Oh, you sent me the role too .
Yeah, so, dell, you realizethat that Iquium is just being
friendly and joking and meant noharm whatsoever.
He was just trying to be funnyin his own way and was not
trying to truly steal yourshepherd's pie or anything.

(01:59:40):
He's just trying to makefriends in the way he knows how.

Dal (01:59:44):
Okay, as long as you don't do it again and you pay for my
food.
All this way Sounds like athread.

Iquium (01:59:53):
I'm really just getting around.
I'm not threatening you.
What is that accent I?

Dal (01:59:58):
don't even know oh okay, I'm just checking.

Iquium (02:00:02):
You realize that, as much as he's trying to pass it
off as being slick, it's justthat he knows that he is weak
and awkward, so he might haveother things going for him, but
strength and deception arereally not in his wheelhouse.

DM (02:00:20):
No.

Iquium (02:00:21):
So you know, he might be .

DM (02:00:24):
He's not a good liar.

Iquium (02:00:26):
He's not a good liar at all and it's and it's.
He's passing it off under theguys of like look, it's absurd
that I'm even trying this, because I know I'm no good at it
.
So his hope is that you justaccept it as the joke that it
was meant to be like.

(02:00:47):
Hey, remember last time we metand I took your shepherd's pie.
That's always true, yeah.

DM (02:00:55):
Got it All right, so you're continuing.
You, you've finished your firstround of drinks and your food.
What would you, are you goingto still?
Are you going to stay here?
You can have another round.
You know Elsa.
Elsa comes by and says hey, youknow, hate to see anyone's
empty flag in there.
Can I, can I fill this up foryou?

Iquium (02:01:17):
Absolutely.
Is Sildar here or is he resting?

DM (02:01:24):
In Astablan.

Iquium (02:01:25):
And would we have helped him in considering his
condition?
Would we have helped him to hisroom?

DM (02:01:30):
Yes, you would have.

Iquium (02:01:31):
Okay.
So if I don't see him here, Ijust kindly asked Tablan.
Like Tablan, I don't think youwere here last night, but I
brought my friend Sildar hereand I just want to check on him,
If that's okay.

DM (02:01:45):
Last last I saw there was a do not disturb, sign on on his
door.
But you're, you're, you'rewelcome to head upstairs and and
check on him, if you, if you'd,if you'd like I do.
Okay, are the two of?

Zanros (02:01:59):
you going to stay at the table for now, I think that
makes sense.
Okay, so it's not toooverwhelmed.

DM (02:02:03):
So Sildar All right, so, iquim, you're going to go
upstairs, all right, so youknock, you knock on the door.

Dal (02:02:15):
I was keeping you.

DM (02:02:17):
You hear a little bit of noise but no one comes
immediately to the door.
You're going to wait a littlelonger.
Do you want to knock again?
Or Okay, all right, you knockagain.
Eventually hear some mumblingand some shuffling of feet and
the steps get closer to the door.
You hear the door finallyunlock and and the door opens.

(02:02:38):
And Sildar is still very, veryweak but but at least he can
stand on his own two feet andand he's doing somewhat better.
So he kind of, he kind of nodsto you and he walks back to the
bed and kind of collapses backdown on the bed and lets you

(02:03:00):
walk, walk into the room.

Iquium (02:03:04):
Obviously I ask him how he's doing first, and then I'll
ask him if he remembers anythingabout Gundring before Gundry
got taken off.

DM (02:03:18):
He's thinking he's just everything takes a lot of effort
right now for Sildar and hegoes.
Gundring was talking about amap he claims he'd found the
secret entrance to, to the WaveEcho Cave, but the goblins had
taken it from him when they, when they captured him.

(02:03:39):
I vaguely remember over overhearing Clark, he, he, he sent
on the map with and and andGundring to the, to the leader
of the, the goblins, somewherecalled Cragmaw Castle.
I remember hearing CragmawCastle.

(02:04:01):
I have no idea where it is, butthat's.
They kept talking about takingthe map to Cragmaw Castle.
I would.
I would assume it's got to benear Fandailin's.
So someone, maybe someone herein town knows, knows where it is
, but I don't, I have no idea.

(02:04:23):
There was one weird, weird assgoblin with the rest of them.
He had a.
He had a weirdly shaped head, Idon't know.
He gave me, he just gave me the.
He gave me a weird vibe man andhe said something to me.
He said you're not what Ruxthidwants.

(02:04:48):
I don't know what that meansand I'm pretty sure, I'm pretty
sure, at this Cragmaw Castle, this is where this is where they
keep calling someone the spider.
I don't know if it's an actualspider or if it's somebody

(02:05:15):
called the spider or what.
But there there's somethingabout about the spider.
There seems to be in charge, that's, and with that he kind of
lays his head back down on thepillow.

Iquium (02:05:34):
It's not Boris the spider, is it putting it here?
No, okay, just checking.

DM (02:05:41):
Ask him for a friend, ask him for a friend.
No, so that's he goes.
Forgive me, I guess I'm just,I'm still still, still, really
just.

Iquium (02:05:53):
Oh, rest, rest, my friend, I want you to.
I want you to get, I want youto get better, I want you to
rest and get back to full health, and and then then I think we
should talk about you runningfor sheriff.
But that's another story forwhen you're better.

DM (02:06:09):
I thank you.
I owe you.
I owe you my life.
I will.
I owe you a debt.
I will gladly give you somegold for for bringing me here
and getting me set up and andhelping me to recover as soon as

(02:06:30):
, as soon as I can get up andout.
I will, I will get you them, that gold.
But just just be patient.
But you are in my debt, sothat's so, that's your at this
point.

Iquium (02:06:43):
He's he's just he's.
He's still out of it.

DM (02:06:45):
He's exhausted.
Yeah, yeah.

Iquium (02:06:48):
Yeah, Do we.
Does he know how long he wasprisoner?
I'll ask him if he knows howlong he was prisoner.

DM (02:06:58):
They were.
They were only a couple of daysahead of you.

Iquium (02:07:00):
Okay, they really beat the hell out of them.

DM (02:07:04):
Yeah, okay, yeah, they were, they were.
They were basically torturinghim for for information.
Okay, because Gundren, gundrenwouldn't, wouldn't talk, so they
took it out on Sildar.

Iquium (02:07:17):
Okay, gotcha, that was rude yeah.

DM (02:07:21):
Well, that's why save too soon, that's why they took
Gundren to Cragmaw Castle forfurther encouragement.

Iquium (02:07:30):
Okay, so out of that we know that the goblins at one
point, or Gundren, had access toa map that showed the location
of the Wave Echo Cave.

DM (02:07:44):
Correct.

Iquium (02:07:46):
So, as a last thing, I asked him if he wants anything
to eat.
Or do you want me to sendsomething up to you, or you know
what?
Have you like that's?
Do you need food?
Are you okay for now?

DM (02:08:02):
I haven't eaten in days.
I would.
I would love some food when Ihave the energy to to eat.

Iquium (02:08:12):
So do you have energy now to eat?
I'm just no, no.

DM (02:08:15):
But if you, if you bring, if you, if you send food up, when
I, when I, when I have theenergy, I will, I will eat.

Iquium (02:08:22):
Okay, I, I closed the door, I let him rest, I, I wish
him well and I go downstairs, and so I.

DM (02:08:33):
Yes.

Iquium (02:08:34):
I'm going to text you what I'm going to.

DM (02:08:36):
Okay, while while you were, while you were upstairs, I need
Zanros and Dal to roll meperception checks 11.

Zanros (02:08:57):
11.

Dal (02:08:59):
Whoa.

Zanros (02:09:01):
Synchronicity.

DM (02:09:03):
I'm just waiting to hear back from Iquium.
He was communicating with metelepathically.
Yes, so at what?
At what point does that?
After you come back down?
Okay, I, I'm just trying.

Iquium (02:09:19):
Like I go to him before I go back to the table.

DM (02:09:21):
Got it, got it Got it.

Iquium (02:09:22):
Range for Sildar is me yelling.

DM (02:09:24):
Got it Understood, okay, so you both rolled 11s.

Zanros (02:09:29):
Yes, yeah.

DM (02:09:31):
Cool.
So, zanros, you over here.
This is what.
This is what Iquium is stillupstairs, so you over here.
While while you and Dal arehanging out talking you over
here from a woman sayingsomething about, the red brands

(02:09:51):
are hassling every business intown except for the Fandelen
miners exchange.
They don't want trouble withHalleya Thornton who runs it.
Do you want to hear that again?

Zanros (02:10:11):
The Fandelen miners exchange with Halleya Thornton.

DM (02:10:15):
Halleya Thornton.
They don't want trouble withher.
Sounds like my kind of gal andDal you over here from a from a
young kid, young kid talking totalking to Toblin and he says

(02:10:36):
Carp said he found a secrettunnel in the woods, but the red
brands almost caught him.
He also saw some weird goblinshanging around.
So that's what you hear.
So Iquium makes his way back toback to the table.
Shortly after Iquium returns, elsa comes back again and places

(02:10:59):
Shepard's pies in front of Daland Iquium.
Thank you, Shepard's pieeverywhere.

Dal (02:11:09):
I'm going to go back to the table.
I'm going to go back to thetable.

Iquium (02:11:14):
I'm going to go back to the table.
I'm going to go back to thetable.

DM (02:11:19):
I don't know where they came from Enjoy and Elsa walks away,
all right.
So now, now you've got allsorts of pieces of information
that you, that you've overheardin the Stonehill Inn, what would
you, what would you like to donow?
It's you've been here for alittle while, so it's now

(02:11:42):
probably early afternoon.
The crowd is starting to thinout a little bit.
The lunch crowd is starting tothin out and it's kind of
quieted down, and you're one ofthe the last remaining tables of
people here.
It's about one or two in theafternoon.
What would you like to do?
You want to discuss the piecesof information you've learned,

(02:12:03):
Because, again, some of you haveheard things that others
haven't.
So you want to discuss all theall the stuff you guys have
overheard in the Stonehill Inn,or do you want to?
What would you like to do?
What's up, I learned something.

Iquium (02:12:14):
I learned a couple of things from Sodar.
He's still recovering.
I arranged to have a meal sentto him.

Dal (02:12:21):
It's good.

Iquium (02:12:23):
And on top of that, he said that the goblins at one
point had access to a map.
And I will use a very hushedtone, as we are in a public
place.
What language do you speak?

Zanros (02:12:42):
Elvish raman and nomish.

Dal (02:12:45):
Elvish raman and infernal.

Iquium (02:12:48):
Okay, I think that Gundar is in Krikma Castle.
Yeah, gundar the Barbarian, Idon't know.
Gundrin Rockseeker and Iimmediately went to Thundar the
Barbarian.
By the way, awesome you, youprobably pick that up, maybe I
don't know, cause that allhappened in my area.

(02:13:08):
That's why you didn't pick itbecause it happened in my area
Got it.
Who knows what else goes onthere, Right yeah tell me about
it.

DM (02:13:21):
All right, so what do you want you got?
You got a lot to discuss.
You're going to share what, what Sildar told you?

Iquium (02:13:31):
Yes, yeah, because the weird goblin took the map the
wave echo cave.
Those are the things we want tolisten for, because that's what
Sildar mentioned and the mapwith Gundrin is probably in

(02:13:51):
Krikma Castle, wherever that is.
That's what I got.

Zanros (02:13:57):
So I overheard that apparently the only people, the
only person that the red brandsare afraid of is somebody called
Halea Thornton at the FandelenMiners Exchange.
So I'd like to talk to her andfind out why exactly they don't

(02:14:18):
hassle her or the Huff.

Iquium (02:14:21):
Let's go be her friend.

Zanros (02:14:22):
Yes.

Dal (02:14:25):
I overheard this young kid talking to Toplin.

Zanros (02:14:31):
Who really should?

Dal (02:14:32):
be a goblin.

Zanros (02:14:34):
Toplin.

Dal (02:14:34):
Yeah, that's the same thing when I heard it.
Yeah.

DM (02:14:39):
Missed opportunity.
Yeah.

Iquium (02:14:42):
He could.
Hey, maybe when he gets getsstarted, just just as a you know
, maybe a partnership with theStonehill is is have him made an
honorary goblin.

Dal (02:14:55):
I was going to say honorary .

Iquium (02:14:56):
Mm-hmm.

Dal (02:14:58):
Said, his friend Karp saw a secret tunnel in the woods and
the red bands almost caught him,and he also saw some weird
goblins.

Zanros (02:15:09):
Which might be our goblins, which might be our
goblins.
So what do you think, guys?

Iquium (02:15:21):
Well, I think, I think we go with yours and and find
this person that the red band, the red brands don't like.

Zanros (02:15:33):
Yeah, yeah.

Iquium (02:15:34):
But I would also say, time Not on Gundrand's side.

Zanros (02:15:40):
Yeah, not on Gundrand's side.
We also don't know whereCragmaw Castle is yet, no, so
maybe we go chat with Halia andalso see if she happens to know
where Cragmaw Castle is.

Iquium (02:15:52):
Yeah, how we get there, you haven't heard anything that
suggests that the red brands arein Cragmaw Castle right.

Zanros (02:16:01):
Not that I know Just that way or a spider is
associated with Cragmaw Castle.

DM (02:16:05):
Correct.
So there's from your, from yourunderstanding.
There were the Cragmaw goblinswho were, who were thieving and
robbing on the trail, on theTribor Trail.

Dal (02:16:17):
Okay.

DM (02:16:18):
And that their leader is at Cragmaw Castle the spider, the
spider, and there's also the redbrands.

Dal (02:16:27):
Okay.

DM (02:16:28):
Who are not at their.
They're in Fandelen.
The Cragmaw Goblins, spiderClark Contingent is outside of
Fand Fandelen.

Iquium (02:16:41):
Okay, do we go see yours first, halia.

Zanros (02:16:47):
Yeah, I mean, if they're afraid of her, she might have
some knowledge in terms of wherethings are.
She seems like she'd be fairlypowerful and she's right in town
.

Iquium (02:16:58):
Maybe she can confirm whether they're in, whether it's
squatting and oh yeah, yeah, just in her manner, yeah.

Zanros (02:17:08):
And if not her, then this fancy boy over here, who's
name I don't remember.

DM (02:17:15):
Harbin.
Harbin Wester.
Harbin Wester.

Zanros (02:17:17):
Oh, I did write him down .
Harbin Wester, the town master.

DM (02:17:22):
All right, we're back from our short break and we just had
the what is it called theHeartlands, heartlands, apple,
rose, apple, oh, rose Apple.

Zanros (02:17:30):
Heartlands Rose, Apple and Blackberry Pie.
I'm just going to call itdelicious.

DM (02:17:35):
From the Heroes Feast D&D Cookbook.
The party can confirm that itis delicious.
Yes, 100% yes.

Zanros (02:17:46):
Now we used Honeycrisp Apples.

DM (02:17:47):
Yes, and the recipe calls for three and a half pounds and
we just had the.

Zanros (02:17:52):
The recipe calls for three and a half pounds, but we
used three and I'd say that wasplenty.

Dal (02:17:57):
It was like about to overflow if we added any more.

Zanros (02:18:01):
Another half pound would have been way too much.

Dal (02:18:03):
Another Apple would have sent it.
Yeah, it was not.

Zanros (02:18:06):
Yeah.

DM (02:18:07):
I would definitely go with their recommendations on Apples.
I would not use we're talkingabout this I would not use a
Granny Smith because it'startness versus those
Blackberries.
I think it wouldn't be a greatcombination.
I think these were sweet enoughApples to really go nicely with

(02:18:28):
the Blackberries in this pie.

Iquium (02:18:30):
That's exactly why I asked, because like where.
I'm going to make the Apple pie.
There would always be GrannySmith Apples, but they were nice
and sweet and they blended withthe Blackberries really
beautifully.

DM (02:18:45):
Yeah, it was a nice combo.

Zanros (02:18:47):
So the suggestions from the Cookbook were Golden,
delicious, ginger Gold, jonathan, johnna Gold, honey Crisp,
cortland or Empire, and thesupermarket had Honey Crisp, so
that's what we did.

DM (02:19:00):
Perfect, excellent.
So we all enjoyed somedelicious, delicious pie Again,
another great recipe from theHeroes' Feast Cookbook.

Zanros (02:19:11):
Highly recommend this one.

DM (02:19:13):
And you said this wasn't a very complicated, because one of
the nice things was it usedpre-made crust.
Yeah, so you didn't have to.
I mean you can, if you want, make your own crust I mean
that's not stopping anybody fromdoing that but the recipe calls
for a pre-made crust and it wasdelicious.

Zanros (02:19:30):
Yeah, and that's what we did.
The what was it, pillsbury, that they had in the
refrigerated section over bylike the break and bake cookies.

Iquium (02:19:39):
Yeah, does it suggest that or does it?

Zanros (02:19:42):
It just says it says Pastry for two double-crust pies
, thawed if frozen and rested atroom temperature until pliable
without cracking.
We got the one from therefrigerated section so we
didn't have to thaw anything andit worked out perfectly.
They tell you to roll them outuntil like 12 inches and I

(02:20:03):
really just had to like push itout a little bit to get it long
enough to have the overhang thatwe needed on the pie plate.

DM (02:20:12):
Well, excellent job, katherine, katherine and Vable,
on putting together thatdelicious pie for us today.
Thank you, thank you so muchfor baking.

Zanros (02:20:23):
Yeah, we enjoyed it, thanks for the help Vable.
It was fun.
We had a good time.

DM (02:20:30):
When last we met you were in the Stonehill Inn.
You had spoken.

Iquium (02:20:38):
Iqwiyah met Sildar or Gundar or Sildren, I keep
wanting to say Gundren, and Ikeep mixing Gundren and Sildar,
that's right.

Zanros (02:20:49):
They are one person, sildar, and Gundar.

DM (02:20:52):
You have shipped Sildar and Gundar yeah.
It's their love child the.

Zanros (02:20:58):
Sildar and Gundren show.

DM (02:21:00):
That's right.
So you spoke with Sildar, gotsome more information from him
about what his experience was inthe cave and where Gundren
might be, where the map might be, et cetera, who might have them
where they might be.
So you got all that.
You also overheard multipleconversations, vable.

(02:21:23):
What was the one that youoverheard and forgot to mention?

Dal (02:21:27):
Yes, Okay, I overheard the Innkeeper talking about a
woodcarver.
A woodcarver that stood up tothe bandits because they bullied
his wife and they provoked himinto a fight and murdered him
and then took his wife and histwo kids, a son and a daughter.

(02:21:50):
They've gone missing.

DM (02:21:51):
Yes, so people have gone missing from Fandelen as well,
but you have all decided to goto the Fandelen Miners Exchange,
yeah, okay.
So do someone, or all give me ahistory check?

(02:22:12):
I got a one, I got a one 16.
, 16.
12.
And a 12.
Okay, so Dall has been able togather some information when you
were in the Stonehill Inn aboutthe Fandelen Miners Exchange.

(02:22:37):
So the Miners Exchange is atrading post where local miners
have their valuable findsweighed, measured and paid out
In the absence of any localauthority.
The exchange also serves as anunofficial records office
registering claims to variousstreams and excavations around
the area.
The exchange is a great placeto meet people who spend a lot

(02:23:00):
of time in the countrysidearound Fandelen.
There isn't any real gold rushin Fandelen, but enough wealth
is hidden in the nearby streamsand valleys to support a good
number of independentprospectors.
And the Guild Master is aquick-witted and ruthless human
woman named Halea Thornton.

(02:23:23):
In her attempts to establishthe Miners Exchange as the
closest thing to the town has asa governing authority, she acts
as more than just a simplemerchant.
She is the agent of theZhentarim, a powerful
organization that seeks to exertsecret control over the North

(02:23:44):
through wealth and influence.
So that's where you're headed,correct, mm-hmm?
All right.
So you head to the MinersExchange, which is kind of
southwest from the Stonehill Inn.
So it's past the Town MastersHall, past the Lion Shield

(02:24:04):
Coster, past the Woodworker whowas murdered.
You pass the Murder House.

Iquium (02:24:13):
Murder House.

DM (02:24:14):
Yes, the Murder House.
There's always a Murder Housein town, these dead.

Iquium (02:24:18):
They're missing is what you said, right.

DM (02:24:20):
Mm-hmm.
Yes, and you end up at theMiners Exchange.
So what do you do when you gethere, dow, since you have all
the information on the MinersExchange, what would you like to
do?

Dal (02:24:39):
I'd just like to look around a little bit first to see
what's up.

DM (02:24:44):
Okay, so you see there's some activity.
It's not a huge again, it's nota huge settlement, but there is
some activity.
You do see some miners hangingaround, sort of some horses and
things.
Some people are bringing somestuff in to have it weighed and
measured and everything and getpaid for their fines.

(02:25:06):
So you can talk to them, or youcan talk to Hala.
Was it Halea?
Halea, you can talk to Halea,or what would you like to?

Zanros (02:25:19):
do you can Hala at Halea .
I think I'd like to do that.

DM (02:25:26):
Okay, so you're going to go inside.
Yeah, okay, so.

Zanros (02:25:30):
I'm going with Dow, because I overheard the thing
about the Red Brands leavingHalea alone and I want to find
out why they're afraid of her.
So I can do that.
So they get the heck away fromme and Bay.

DM (02:25:45):
Yeah, it's very surprising to you that the Red Brands would
stay away from this placebecause, again, all the gold and
jewels and whatever people arefinding in these mountains is
coming here and getting paid out.
So this is a big financial kindof exchange happening here and

(02:26:06):
this would be an ideal place.
If people were looking toextort money from someone, this
would be the ideal place to doit.

Zanros (02:26:14):
So she's got to be super tough, and that's why I want to
meet her.

Iquium (02:26:19):
Okay, I want to go in because my purpose is to find
out if Gundren has a claimlisted in their records where
that is, if that's possible.

DM (02:26:31):
What do you want?
You got a claim when you got it.
You have anything to bring me.

Zanros (02:26:39):
Hello, I'm down here.
Oh, oh hello.
Hi, I'm Sam Rose Bumble Bumble.
My family owns the oldTresender Manor out on the edge
of town.

DM (02:26:52):
You, you, you own it.

Zanros (02:26:55):
Yes, my family and I'm going to turn it into a bed and
breakfast, so that's why I'mhere, I'm relocating to town,
but all I hear from everybody intown is about these Red Brands
and how much trouble they'recausing.
I suspect they're living at myfuture B&B and what I did hear

(02:27:16):
is that the Red Brands don'tmess with you.
Now, as a strong but smallwoman, I appreciate other strong
women and that's why I had tocome and meet you and see what
your thoughts were.

DM (02:27:29):
Well, first of all, clearly, your family has not been in
this area for some time becausethe Red Brands are using your
property as their home base.
And I suspect it is much I meanthey love to go drinking at the
sleeping giant with the SurlyOrk.

(02:27:54):
But I just like saying SurlyOrk, sorry everybody.

Zanros (02:27:57):
Yeah, that's great.

DM (02:27:59):
I just I can't, like I want to call it the Surly Ork, like
that's really what it should benamed.

Zanros (02:28:03):
Under new management.
Under new management is theSurly Ork.

DM (02:28:09):
But that's that's where they , that's where they drink.
But, yeah, they've made theirhome base out of out of Dresden
or Manor.
It's a.
It is a place that I would notrecommend going to if you, if
you, value your lives.

Zanros (02:28:24):
If I had a small mob, would that be enough?
Because I have a number ofemployees for the B&B who would
probably relish in theopportunity to shed some blood.
Then they're going to makeuniforms and cook and yeah, and

(02:28:48):
create an evening show for theguests.

DM (02:28:54):
So you want to, you want to clear out the red brands 100%,
so I wanted to know why they'reafraid of you.
They have every right to beafraid of me.

Zanros (02:29:06):
I'm sure they do.
You seem scary.

DM (02:29:09):
I accept none of that nonsense around here.
And you notice she there, there's a large curtain behind
behind Hulia, and she just kindof moves it gently to the side.

Zanros (02:29:32):
Is there a surly orc behind it?

DM (02:29:35):
There is not, but there is a cache of weapons.
And she just kind of gives youa nod that lets you know that
she is not.
She is someone that that notonly knows how to use these
weapons but has used theseweapons.

(02:29:56):
And she says, she says to youyou look like you're, you're,
you're not going to listen tothe advice that I give about the
red brands.

Zanros (02:30:11):
I am here to take over my family's property to make a
name for myself and to be thepreeminent name in hospitality
in the Fandelen region.
So no, I'm not going to stayaway from them.

DM (02:30:29):
I have a proposal for you You're, you're, you're going to
need a lot of help.

Zanros (02:30:44):
Certainly sounds that way.

DM (02:30:45):
Build, a rebuilding that manner.

Zanros (02:30:48):
Yes, since everyone says that it's a dilapidated old
ruin.

DM (02:30:53):
How would you feel?
The leader of the red brands issomeone they call glass staff.

Zanros (02:31:04):
Cool name.
What's his story?

DM (02:31:10):
No, mine Don't, don't.
Don't worry about that, but ifyou would, in your own way,
happen to to get glass staff outof the picture, it would be
worth a hundred gold pieces tome.

Zanros (02:31:29):
So just glass staff, feeling like it's probably going
to be hard to get to him.
If you're this invested, do youknow where he stays?

DM (02:31:38):
Well, you could.
You could probably find him upat the manor.
Damn it.

Zanros (02:31:43):
That's going to be hard.
Do you have any men you couldsend with us or any weapons that
we could borrow?

DM (02:31:51):
I can.
I can only offer you I.
I.
I don't want anyone knowingthat I'm involved in this, so I
cannot give you any other helpother than the promise of
payment.
I would like you to roll aninsight check Just you, Because

(02:32:12):
you're the one talking to,You're not the one talking to.
I'm not going to tell youYou're unsure.

Zanros (02:32:25):
About how they.

DM (02:32:30):
That's wise.
You, you distinct, you can.
You can certainly tell, but youdon't have to worry about it.
I'm here for your motives.
What those are, you can't say,but you're just picking up a

(02:32:52):
vibe that, based on everythingyou know about her and just her
overall demeanor and what shehas said, there's more to it
than what she is letting on.
So that is the information thatshe will give you.

Zanros (02:33:14):
Okay, is that the information she will
specifically give me, should mycompatriots ask some questions?

Iquium (02:33:23):
I mean, I do have a question for her, but it's not
necessarily.
It's all right.
Hello, halea, I'm Iquium ofArius, a friend of Gundren
Roxygerd, and I was wondering ifit is possible, given the

(02:33:45):
records you must keep, ifGundren had any claims nearby,
as I'm just looking for him andwhere he might be.

DM (02:33:53):
I'm sorry, what was that name again?

Iquium (02:33:57):
My name or his name?

DM (02:33:59):
His name.

Iquium (02:34:00):
Gundren Roxygerd.

DM (02:34:04):
Doesn't ring a bell.

Iquium (02:34:06):
Inside you, natural 20.
She is 22 actually, but natural20.

DM (02:34:18):
She is definitely not telling you the truth.
Okay, but I suspect it so.
But again, she is a woman whocan keep a secret.
So you know, you know, sheknows, you can, you know it's

(02:34:44):
she's clearly keeping a secret, but she's not keeping it secret
enough that she kind of has atell that you can, you know she
is, she knows, like her, likeher.
Her reaction when you said thename Like there were, there was
just a hint of a reaction.
Yeah.

Iquium (02:35:03):
Kind of like a poker tell yes, exactly.

DM (02:35:06):
She's got a poker tell but but she won't reveal it.
She won't, she won't outrightsay anything, but you know for
sure she knows something about, not necessarily where he is, but
she's heard of the name in herin her business dealings.
Let's say, okay, yeah, I'mafraid I, I'm afraid I cannot,

(02:35:28):
cannot help you, canter won't.
Same.
Thing.

Zanros (02:35:34):
No, it isn't.

DM (02:35:35):
It's not to saying she can't be bribed.

Zanros (02:35:39):
So, she does like her money.

Iquium (02:35:44):
Holly, do you know what my two favorite words are?
No plausible deniability and Ithink you could use a lot of
that, Even the fact that a groupof bandits doesn't like you.
He's afraid of you, andobviously you have weaponry and

(02:36:08):
everything to back yourself up.
But I think maybe, in order tokeep your standing, you need to
have a certain amount of myfavorite words.
It's a little plausibledeniability.
So I need things, you needthings.
How can we help each other?

DM (02:36:31):
What types of things are you looking for?

Iquium (02:36:35):
I'm looking really to understand if he has a claim.
I'm not looking for his claim.
I'll show you the letter hesent me if you like to show you
my intentions.
Yeah, you may be looking forhis claim as well.
I don't know, but I'm willingto take the chance that you

(02:36:56):
actually do know of Gundren.
Everybody else seems to knowGundren around here.
You're the only person whodoesn't.
It doesn't sit right with me,but I understand that you could
probably use plausibledeniability.
Maybe you want to protect yourinterests and you know.
Maybe you have a shared claimwith Gundren.

(02:37:17):
I don't know.
I'm less concerned with thatand more concerned with where my
friend is.

DM (02:37:25):
I have not seen your friend in some time.
I will tell you Roll persuasion.
Are you trying to persuade orintimidate?

Iquium (02:37:43):
I am not intimidating, I don't.

DM (02:37:46):
You tell me.

Iquium (02:37:47):
I'll say it's the same either way.
So it's, it's.
It's plus two either way.
So I'm going to intimidate him.
I'm going to intimidate him 16.
Okay, oh, plus 18.

DM (02:38:08):
Gundren.
I will tell you this much aboutGundren.
He has been through here manytimes recently, but but never,
never to bring anything of value.

(02:38:28):
He keeps, he keeps looking buthas never brought anything of
value to me.

Iquium (02:38:43):
Okay, or is that really necessary?
I mean, she's go ahead.

DM (02:38:48):
I mean, it's you can.
You can shake it.
You got to persuade her to lieto you.

Iquium (02:38:56):
True, I wouldn't know.
Either way, I have both of twoYep.

DM (02:39:06):
You have no idea.
A four I have no idea if she'stelling you the truth or not,
but but she she seemed moved bywhat you said earlier and you
don't.
You don't have any reason tobelieve she's lying about that.
It wasn't like.
It wasn't like some likefantastical story that she made
up.
So it was.

(02:39:26):
It's believable.

Iquium (02:39:29):
Okay.

Zanros (02:39:33):
I have one more question for you.
Yes, do you know where CraigMach Castle is?

DM (02:39:40):
Very long pause.
Yeah, that's a very valuablepiece of information, perhaps,

(02:40:00):
perhaps when you've taken careof Glass Staff.

Zanros (02:40:12):
You know I'm glad you have a big opening party when
the B&B opens up and I'm goingto invite all the local
merchants, but not you.

DM (02:40:23):
Roll an intimidation.
Okay, oh shit.

Zanros (02:40:33):
I have a minus one for intimidation.
Seven.

DM (02:40:40):
You are not very intimidating.

Zanros (02:40:42):
No, I'm not.
To to Hulia.
That's fine.
She's still not invited.

Iquium (02:40:50):
I arm wrestle.

Zanros (02:40:52):
No, no, I'm kidding, I arm wrestle.

DM (02:40:56):
Consider again my my monetary offer for taking care
of Glass Staff Understood.
Hopefully an invitation isincluded in that.
Maybe we shall see.

Zanros (02:41:13):
Thanks for your help.

DM (02:41:17):
Good luck.

Zanros (02:41:20):
You don't need it.

DM (02:41:21):
Nah.

Zanros (02:41:25):
I'm just kidding, you don't need it.

Dal (02:41:29):
You don't need it and you're off the list.

Zanros (02:41:36):
Don't meet your heroes.

Iquium (02:41:39):
Was there anything you?

Zanros (02:41:40):
wanted to ask this one.

DM (02:41:46):
You've.
You've killed Iqli, that was it.
You know he doesn't have muchstrength.
Have you had all of yourdealings with this woman?
Are you satisfied with theinformation you've gotten?

Iquium (02:42:00):
What's?
I'll ask her one more question.
So are the red brands contentin leaving you alone or do they
come back to visit?
If they do, when is that?
And please understand, I'm justtrying to understand their

(02:42:22):
frequency in town and how oftentry to shape down other
merchants, that's all.

Zanros (02:42:32):
I'd love to know when they're not at the manor, so
there's this few of them thereas possible when we go to kick
ass.

DM (02:42:43):
I've seen them make their way through town several days a
week, most notably Mondays, butI've seen them other days as
well.
I think sometimes actuallythey've had a little too much to
drink at the sleeping giant.

(02:43:05):
They like to carouse aroundtown and cause trouble, get into
shenanigans.

Zanros (02:43:17):
Not carousing in shenanigans.

DM (02:43:19):
And Tom Fullery, tom Fullery .

Iquium (02:43:21):
What about hijinks?
Are they into any hijinks?

DM (02:43:26):
Hijinks do ensue oh wow, this is rough.
It all depends on how muchthey've had to drink, but they
are known to cause trouble afterhaving a few.
So Mondays are not the onlydays.
It's typically at night.
Mondays during the day is whenthey're seen.

(02:43:46):
Typically it's after sundownwhen they like to cause trouble.

Dal (02:43:58):
I forgot what day is it currently?
I don't know.

DM (02:44:06):
I don't know, it's midweek.

Dal (02:44:07):
Wednesday.

DM (02:44:10):
Let's say Thursday.

Dal (02:44:12):
Thursday.

DM (02:44:15):
Cause you got into town what yesterday.
You got into town yesterday, which was Wednesday.
It will say it was Wednesday.
So now you're getting into thelate afternoon on Thursday.
Things are starting to winddown in town, so it's up to you.

(02:44:41):
I mean, you could probably.
It's not quite yet sundown, soyou could probably get one more
place if you wanted to gosomewhere else.
Or obviously the Stone Hill Innand the Sleeping Giant will be
open after sundown for drinkingpurposes, but pretty much

(02:45:08):
everything else will be shutdown after that.
So up to you where you wouldlike to go.

Zanros (02:45:18):
I think we should go visit the Foppish Town Master
and see what information we canget from him.

Iquium (02:45:28):
I mean maybe not one of our heroes today, and that's
kind of enough for cause I keepon looking at his picture going.
I just want to flick him in theback of the head.

DM (02:45:41):
I know what you might have information.
He's that type.

Iquium (02:45:45):
Yeah, we can get him.
We can press the town, master, for he's a fancy man Information
Foppish Dandy.

Zanros (02:45:52):
He is a Foppish Dandy.

DM (02:45:55):
Up to you.
What would you like to do next?

Zanros (02:46:00):
I would like to make a quick stop to pull an egg out of
my pack and wing it at Holia'shouse.

DM (02:46:10):
Oh my god.

Zanros (02:46:10):
I'm an angry little rock gnome.

DM (02:46:16):
Okay.

Zanros (02:46:20):
Not going to make me roll for anything.

DM (02:46:24):
We'll consider that an unarmed strike.
Actually, no, we'll call itlike a dart, it's a ranged
weapon.
So that's a plus six to hit.
So roll your D20.
Six, six plus six is 12.

(02:46:44):
So your egg goes wide ofHolia's house and misses.

Zanros (02:46:57):
There goes my breakfast, okay.

DM (02:47:05):
So now, however, you hit a goat in the head, and now the
goat is charging you.

Zanros (02:47:15):
Okay.

DM (02:47:18):
So That'll be a 19 to hit.

Zanros (02:47:30):
My armors 15.
Can I attempt to use myacrobatics to leap out of the
way?

DM (02:47:38):
That's like a reaction.
Yeah, I'll allow that.

Iquium (02:47:41):
Do I see the goat coming ?

Dal (02:47:45):
Can I snatch her out the way 17.

DM (02:47:51):
You leap out of the way, just just in time.

Zanros (02:47:56):
Sorry, little guy, I wasn't aiming for you.

DM (02:48:02):
You kind of just throws his head up at you and trots back
into the field and leaves youalone.

Iquium (02:48:11):
At least it wasn't a Canadian goose.
We would have all been dead, you would have TPK.

DM (02:48:18):
TPK by an angry can of the goose.

Iquium (02:48:20):
In our next episode, let's roll up some new
characters after the goose.

Zanros (02:48:25):
In a post goose world.

DM (02:48:27):
All right.
So I think that's a great placefor us to pause for today.
We'll figure out.
Let's figure out what's ournext destination.
Are you going to head back tocamp for the night?

Zanros (02:48:38):
No, we're going to swing by the town, master, you're
going to swing by the town, master, and then I think back to
camp, all right.

DM (02:48:45):
You want to hit town, master , now.
Yeah why not?
Okay Is that?
And then we'll do a long restnight and pick up in the morning
.
Pick up the morning at camp.

Zanros (02:48:56):
That works Okay.

DM (02:48:59):
So you head.
So you're heading back towardcamp and you stop at the town
master's hall.
So Pham Dailin really, like Isaid, has no functioning
government.
The village elects a townmaster by annually.
I said every two years.
The town master serves as judgeand minor disputes.
He also keeps a lot of theimportant records as well.

(02:49:21):
The current town master is thebanker in town, harbin Wester.
He's referred to as a cheerfuland well liked, however timid
leader.
He is completely intimidated bythe red brands.

Zanros (02:49:40):
All right so what's the plan?

DM (02:49:44):
You're going to go to the town master's hall and what?

Zanros (02:49:46):
Yeah, I have a number of questions for him.

DM (02:49:52):
Okay.

Zanros (02:49:53):
All right.
So where is he Like?
Am I going to a desk?
Am I going to a?

DM (02:50:00):
window so you open the it's.
There's a sign on the door thatthe town master's office is
open.
So you go inside the building.
It's kind of just kind of looksjust like a big open office
area and there's just a big deskthere and there's this big kind
of heavy jolly man sittingbehind the behind the desk with

(02:50:23):
his feet up on the feet up onthe desk.

Zanros (02:50:26):
Okay.

DM (02:50:28):
Hello.

Zanros (02:50:30):
Hello hello there.
Who are you?
Hi, I'm Zan Rose Bumblebumble.
Well, bumblebumble, yes, myfamily owns the Trissender Manor
on the outskirts of town.

DM (02:50:44):
Interesting I.
I've seen in the in theproperty records.

Zanros (02:50:48):
I've seen that name before, yeah, so I'll be opening
a B&B in the manner, Really yes.
So here we have to clear outsome vermin first.
But I was also told that you'reinvolved with the Chamber of
Commerce.

DM (02:51:09):
Yes, I'm the president of the Chamber of Commerce.

Zanros (02:51:13):
So I will be joining the Chamber of Commerce.
I'll also be needing to open abusiness banking account.

DM (02:51:20):
Okay, we can.
We can handle that.

Zanros (02:51:24):
And then I wanted to see if you could give us some
information about the red brands, their weaknesses, the easiest
way to kill them, because I'veheard they've overrun my
family's property, but I don'tthink a stern word from a three
foot five gnome is going to beenough to get them to vacate.

DM (02:51:46):
I am.
Oh, those red brands are awful, awful group I am.
I would not, I would not crossthem if I were you.
You're not me.
True, very true.

Iquium (02:52:05):
But who are you?
I know Zanra's Pimblebunman.
You, you, sir, I know Zanra'sPimblebunman.

Zanros (02:52:13):
I am Zanra's Pimblebumble of the never winter
Pimblebumbles, and I amaccustomed to getting my way.

DM (02:52:29):
Well, don't well roll for intimidation 14.

Zanros (02:52:37):
He's intimidated.

DM (02:52:39):
Yeah, he is he, because remember, like I said he was,
he's got his feet up on the deskso he's kind of leaning back in
the chair.
His chair goes just kind of allthe way back and he and he
falls back, he kind of skitters, skitters back up on his feet
and he's like, oh my God, Well,if, if that's your attitude, I

(02:53:01):
say, I say, go after them.

Zanros (02:53:05):
Thank you, any insight you can provide that might help
us in our quest to rid myfamily's home of red brands.

DM (02:53:18):
There are very few people willing to, willing to stand up
to them in this town.
It's they've kind of taken over.
If, if you're willing to goafter them, I the best I can
wish you is good luck.

Zanros (02:53:36):
I'm just going to say when you're up for reelection, I
might take an interest inpolitics.

DM (02:53:44):
If you want to deal with the red brands, it's, it's, it's
all yours.

Zanros (02:53:48):
If you have this job for another two years, you better
believe the red brands will belong gone.

Dal (02:53:54):
I'd like to think anyone would be better at dealing with
them than you.

Zanros (02:53:59):
Thank you, Tom.

DM (02:54:03):
Of course.
And again, just, he's not thattall a man.
So so, again, a littleintimidated by you Again, yeah,
I'm, I'm, and in his best, DannyGlover, he just goes.

(02:54:24):
I'm getting too old for thisshit.
If you can, if you can, if youcan get rid of the red brands, I
will endorse you for townmaster.

Zanros (02:54:39):
All right, Friends.
Do we have any other questionsfor the town?
Master Equium, did you want toask anything about Gundren?

Iquium (02:54:53):
When, in fact, is the last time you saw my friend
Gundren Rock Seeker.

DM (02:54:59):
You know, he, oh he was.
He was headed up to NeverwinterI think it gets some supplies
because he withdrew.
He withdrew some money from hisaccount and then was heading up
there.
He was all excited aboutsomething, but he wouldn't tell
me what it was.
But he was, he was very excitedand he took out quite a sum of

(02:55:23):
money and and said he would beback back shortly.
And I haven't seen him since.

Iquium (02:55:31):
How much money?

DM (02:55:34):
I'm really not at liberty to say, but it was a substantial
sum.

Iquium (02:55:43):
So I just delivered Gundren's provisions, so I have
an idea of what the worth of theprovisions are and what he paid
for us to get them.
That's what I'm trying tounderstand.

(02:56:04):
If that's all it's true, that'sfine.
That's why I'm in the idea youmight not be at liberty to say,
but you're not exactlyprotecting anything are you?
I have a band at stake overyour town, failing as a town
master.

DM (02:56:26):
All right.

Iquium (02:56:27):
I almost feel like casting dissonant whispers.

Zanros (02:56:29):
We're breaking this poor dude.

Dal (02:56:33):
It's gonna go home and cry himself to sleep.

DM (02:56:40):
I really feel bad for Harvin Webster, you guys are really
shitting on his parade.
Oh my God, he's just listen.
He is just elected by thepeople.
He is not a lawman, he is justa banker trying to keep this
small town together and doinghis best to keep it from

(02:57:04):
succumbing to the red brands.
And he doesn't know how to dothat.
He needs help.
Help the man, help HarvinWebster.
Defeat the red brands and bringFandelen back to the glory that
it once was.

Zanros (02:57:29):
Make Fandelen great again.

Dal (02:57:31):
No.

DM (02:57:37):
Maybe the red brands are red because they wear little red
hats.
They have a little whitewriting that says make Fandelen
great again.

Dal (02:57:46):
In some particular golden high tops.

Iquium (02:57:49):
Look Just because you got these mappers running around
.

DM (02:57:54):
How do you know MP Magpas?

Iquium (02:57:56):
Magpas Mag.

DM (02:57:58):
Mapkas.

Dal (02:57:59):
Mapkas, mapka.

DM (02:58:02):
Mapka, mapka, mapka, mapka, mapka, mapka.
We're sure gonna Goonie Googoo.

Iquium (02:58:10):
What is Goonie Googoo, you guys?
Yes, dear Harbin.

DM (02:58:15):
Yes.

Iquium (02:58:18):
You are a man in need of solutions and perhaps even some
plausible deniability.

DM (02:58:30):
Oh, what were you thinking?

Iquium (02:58:33):
Well, if these red brands were out of your way,
what kind of support can thetown give you?
You have no militia, I gatheryou certainly have no
constabulary.
What is it that you do again?

DM (02:58:49):
I keep the records.
I watch over the jail cells, which is usually just a drunk
people overnight.
Okay, there really isn't Otherthan the red brands.
There really isn't much crimein this town.
There's not much going on.

Iquium (02:59:08):
Well, not if you have a group that's cornered all the
crime.
They're committing all the crime.
Your town could be greater thanit is, but it seems to have an
impediment, and I'm trying tounderstand whether the
impediment is the red brands oryou.
I don't want it to be you.
I want you to be successful.

(02:59:29):
I want you to one day be ableto shake my hand and go Iquian
the various, your dire wolf, canhave the run of the town
because she's a good girl.
Oh, you don't even know her yet.
So that's okay, that'll savefor another time.
But here's the thing what's itworth to you for us to get rid

(02:59:51):
of the red brands for you?
What's it worth to the town?
Are there any weapons or anyarmor that say, if I had some
associates that needed to beweaponed in armor?
Is there any town budget forthat?

DM (03:00:10):
Well, there may be.
If you're looking to rebuildthe manner, perhaps the town
could could help with that.
You might need infrastructure, you might need plumbing, road
work.
There's all sorts of things youmight need.

(03:00:32):
If you're looking for purereward for removing the red
brands, you know I'm justlooking to.

Iquium (03:00:47):
In reality, what I'm looking for is to be able to
understand what kind of supportI can expect as I, as my
companions and I, take on thisendeavor, because obviously we
have a vested interest in thetown.
Jammar has a vested interest inthe manner and obviously red

(03:01:10):
brands are staying in the manner.
So it is in our best interestto get rid of them as well.
But I don't think that we cando it completely by ourselves.

DM (03:01:27):
I'm afraid the town doesn't have much to offer.
We are farmers, tradesmen.
We are not fighters, we are notsoldiers.
That's not who this town is.
We can help you in other ways, but we're unfortunately

(03:01:52):
ill-equipped to confront anddefeat the red brands.
If we had that, we would havedone it already.

Iquium (03:02:03):
I mean, if you had access to, say, a thousand
gallons of pitch of rubber beachball on a paper clip, we could
probably build something.
No, I do not say that All of asudden the A team slash McGyver
slashed into my brain, McGyverthe guy of the ravious.

DM (03:02:26):
The guy of the ravious.
Also, the Scottish accent comesout Of course you are Harbin
Western.

Iquium (03:02:35):
What's wrong with you?
Are you a man or a fubish dandyin charge of paperwork?
You're nothing but a secretary, and not even a good one.
Where's my coffee?

DM (03:02:51):
Oh, my god, yes.

Iquium (03:02:56):
It has terribly.

Zanros (03:03:02):
Perhaps I was too hard on you.
I have a question.

DM (03:03:08):
Yes.

Zanros (03:03:09):
If we are able to get the red brands out of town.

DM (03:03:14):
I'm listening.

Zanros (03:03:15):
You seem like a man who has a lot of friends.

DM (03:03:22):
I'm well known in town.

Zanros (03:03:24):
Would you be willing to send your friends to a brand new
bed and breakfast?

DM (03:03:33):
I mean most people I know already live in Van Daylen.
However, being the president ofthe Chamber of Commerce, we
have a conference in a city downby the shore and annually we

(03:03:55):
get together and talk aboutthings going in our town.
So I could tell other townsabout your B&B, I like it, and
we can work on driving otherpeople from other towns to Van
Daylen to stay at your B&B shopin our stores.

(03:04:16):
It would be a win-win.
Sounds good to me.

Zanros (03:04:21):
Wonderful, all right, anybody have any other questions
for the sky?
Because if not, I think we'vegot to get moving and figure
some stuff out.

DM (03:04:38):
All right, everybody good.
All right, so you're going tohead back to your campsite just
outside of town.
Let's see, I'm going to roll aD6.
Oh, unfortunately I rolled asix.

(03:05:00):
Six of your goblins have takenoff since you've been away.
I'm just kidding.
I'm totally fucking with you.
Oh my god.

Zanros (03:05:13):
Oh rude.

Iquium (03:05:18):
That's why we need to get back to the goblins and give
them the gold that we unloadedover to.

DM (03:05:22):
That's right.

Iquium (03:05:25):
Still loyalty Correct.

DM (03:05:28):
All right, so you have made it back to your campsite.
Yes, you were going to givesome money to the goblins.

Zanros (03:05:35):
Yeah, we have two gold that we're going to.
What did we decide?
We changed it to silver andwe're going to spread it amongst
them.

DM (03:05:42):
Well, fortunately you were just talking to Harlan.

Zanros (03:05:46):
Yeah, and he did that for us.

DM (03:05:48):
Harlan.
I was just going to say HarlanCobain.
No, it's Harvan Wester.

Zanros (03:05:50):
Yeah, I think Harlan Cobain every time you say it.

DM (03:05:53):
I know I did it.
I finally slipped and saidHarlan Harvan.

Iquium (03:05:58):
As we kindly tried to re-establish the self-esteem
that we tore apart on him.

DM (03:06:03):
All right, so we will come back next month and figure out
what else is going on and maybefinally confront the red brands
in Van Dalen We've got to figureout.
Figure out what their deal isStill.
Got to figure out where theKragmaugh castle is.
Got to figure out what Halia isup to.

(03:06:24):
Why is she so interested in thered brands and glass staff?

Iquium (03:06:31):
She seems a little too interested in just glass staff,
Glass staff not the rest of thered brand.
Yes, she does so it's in thepresence of a power vacuum.

DM (03:06:42):
You've got missing villagers and a murder, murder.

Iquium (03:06:48):
Weird goblins.

DM (03:06:49):
Weird goblins.
You've got so many things goingon.
You've got the kid that saw thehidden tunnel in the woods.
So I mean you've got so manythings to follow up on.
You've got a lot going on andthere's even more to do in Van
Dalen, so we will catch up nextmonth, thank you.

(03:07:13):
Thank you all today for playing.
This has been a lot of fun.
Hopefully you enjoyed it.

Zanros (03:07:18):
Yes, it was fun.

DM (03:07:19):
Excellent, and we will see you all next month and we've got
episodes in between, but we'llsee you next month for the next
part of Van Delver and BelowShattered obelisk.
Thank you all.
Thank you for listening.

Zanros (03:07:37):
Bye, bye.
