Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey everyone, Welcome back.
I am pumped for this deep divebecause it's all about gratitude
and I know a lot of you arereally into that.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Yeah, for sure.

Speaker 1 (00:07):
So we're going to be checking out this blog post by
Lestallion called 50 GratitudeJournal with Prompts yeah, just
came out on October 31st of thisyear, yeah, and it has 50
different prompts for how to bemore grateful, how to practice
gratitude in your journaling.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
I love it.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
So it's awesome and it's divided into five
categories, which I think isreally cool.
It kind of gives you aframework for exploring
different areas of your life.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
Totally yeah, it's like a roadmap.

Speaker 1 (00:32):
So what are those five categories?

Speaker 2 (00:34):
Okay, so we have everyday moments, relationships
and connection, life'schallenges, achievements and the
present moment.

Speaker 1 (00:41):
Wow, that is a pretty wide spectrum.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
Yeah, Covers it all right.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
It does, it really does.
Yeah, I'm already interested todive into these.
Could you give us just a littletaste, like one prompt from
each category, just to kind ofsee what we're working with here
?

Speaker 2 (00:54):
Absolutely Okay.
So, from everyday moments, wehave one that asks you to think
about a routine task that youoften take for granted Okay,
that you often take for grantedOkay and just find something to
appreciate about it.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
Oh, interesting yeah, so kind of changing your
perspective on something thatyou just do automatically.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
Exactly yeah, just finding that like little spark
of gratitude in something that'svery ordinary.

Speaker 1 (01:14):
Awesome, I love that.
What about for relationshipsand connection?

Speaker 2 (01:18):
So there's one that asks you to recall a
conversation that left youfeeling inspired oh cool, yeah.
So it could be a chat with amentor, or even just like a
brief exchange with a strangerthat sparked a new idea.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
I like that, like that little moment of connection
can really make a difference.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
Yeah, totally.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
Okay, what about life's challenges?

Speaker 2 (01:38):
Ooh Okay.
So this one asks you to reflecton a setback you faced and
consider what you learned fromit.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
It's deep, huh.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
Yeah, this is getting into the nitty gritty, yeah,
yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
So how about achievements?
What do we have there?

Speaker 2 (01:51):
Okay, this one is all about celebrating your wins, so
there's a prompt that asks youto think about a small goal
you've recently accomplished andjust savor that feeling of
achievement.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
I like that.
Yeah, because, yeah, we don'talways take the time to actually
appreciate when we've donesomething, accomplished
something.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
Right, we're always on to the next thing.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
Exactly, we're always moving on to the next thing.
So, I like that, and then, lastbut not least, the present
moment.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
Okay, this one asks you to describe something that
you are enjoying right now.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
Oh wow, yeah, Like right in this moment, right in
this moment.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
Yeah, so it could be just a sensory experience, a
feeling, a thought, anythingthat's bringing you a little bit
of joy right now.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
I love that.
It's so simple but so powerful, right.
Just to kind of bring yourawareness to this present moment
.
Totally Wow.
Okay.
So we've got a little taste ofeach category and I am
officially intrigued where wewant to start this deep dive.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
Well, I think everyday moments is a great
place to start.
Okay, yeah, because it's kindof like the foundation of
cultivating a more gratefulmindset in general.
It makes sense, it's aboutappreciating the little things,
the things we often overlook.

Speaker 1 (02:59):
Yeah, the ordinary things that we maybe don't give
enough attention to.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
Right, exactly.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
Cool, okay, I'm ready to dive into everyday moments.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
Let's do it.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
Let's go All right, everyday moments, let's get into
it.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
So how can we use these prompts to really
appreciate these little ordinarythings in our lives?

Speaker 2 (03:19):
So it's all about shifting our perspective, right
Like.
As humans, we tend to adapt tothings really quickly.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
That's true, yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
Even good things, you know.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
Yeah, like you get a new car and you're so excited.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
Exactly.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
And then after a while you're just like eh, it's
my car.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
It's just a car.
Yeah, it's called the hedonictreadmill.

Speaker 1 (03:36):
Oh, the hedonic, treadmill Interesting.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
Yeah, we're constantly chasing the next
thing.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
Oh, that makes sense.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
Without fully appreciating what we already
have.

Speaker 1 (03:43):
So how do these prompts help us, like get off
the treadmill?

Speaker 2 (03:47):
So gratitude's the key.
When we focus on the things wetake for granted, it disrupts
that adaptation process so wecan actually appreciate what we
have again.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
I like that.
It's like resetting.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
Exactly.

Speaker 1 (04:00):
Give me an example Like how would one of these
prompts work?
Okay, so.

Speaker 2 (04:02):
Listellian has this prompt.
Give me an example, like howwould one of these prompts work?
Okay, so Listellian has thisprompt.
What's one thing around youright now that makes you feel
comfortable?

Speaker 1 (04:09):
Oh cool.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
Like the softness of a blanket, the hum of your
fridge, even the way sunlightcomes through your window.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
Hmm, I actually tried that earlier oh yeah, and it's
funny how much I notice that Iusually don't even think about
my office chair, the way mykeyboard feels.
Exactly I was like wow, I neverthought about that.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
And by noticing those small comforts, you're training
your brain to appreciate themmore often.

Speaker 1 (04:33):
So it's not just about feeling good right then,
it's like building a habit.

Speaker 2 (04:37):
Yeah, it's like a gratitude muscle.

Speaker 1 (04:38):
A gratitude muscle.
I like that.
What other everyday moments arethere?

Speaker 2 (04:42):
Oh, there's a good one.

Speaker 1 (04:47):
I mean, I usually just scarf down my breakfast
while I'm like on my phone.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
Yeah, we've all been there.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
Yeah, but I actually like took a moment to appreciate
it.
It's about slowing down, yeah, savoring it that first meal of
the day.

Speaker 2 (04:59):
It's not just about the food.
Right, it's about the energy, the comfort, the ritual.
Yeah, lestallion even has aquote about this.
Gratitude for everyday momentsbrings a sense of calm and
contentment.
Appreciating the little thingscan transform an ordinary day
into something beautiful.

Speaker 1 (05:16):
Oh, that's really nice.
Yeah, I like that a lot, sowe've talked about surroundings,
breakfasts, anything else inthis category?

Speaker 2 (05:24):
So there's one about routine tasks.

Speaker 1 (05:26):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
Think about a task you did today and find something
to appreciate about it.

Speaker 1 (05:31):
Like folding laundry, washing dishes, all that fun
stuff.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
Exactly.

Speaker 1 (05:35):
It's hard to appreciate that stuff.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
I know.

Speaker 1 (05:43):
But what if, instead of focusing on the drudgery, you
appreciate it, like havingclean clothes or a tidy kitchen.
Ok yeah, reframing it.
Reframing it as like self-careeven.

Speaker 2 (05:47):
Yeah, or a contribution to your well-being.

Speaker 1 (05:50):
OK, yeah, I see that.
What about those really mundanemoments?
Yeah, like waiting in line.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
Oh yeah.

Speaker 1 (05:57):
Can we find gratitude there?
Oh, absolutely Really.

Speaker 2 (05:59):
There's a prompt for that too.

Speaker 1 (06:01):
Oh, okay.

Speaker 2 (06:02):
It asks how did you use that waiting time?
Could it be an opportunity forpatience, Okay?
Yeah, or to listen to a podcast, or just to look around Instead
of being like oh I'm soimpatient.
Right, Turn it into somethingpositive, Okay.

Speaker 1 (06:10):
Or to listen to a podcast, or just to look around
Instead of being like ugh, I'mso impatient.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
Right, turn it into something positive.
Okay, those little moments addup.

Speaker 1 (06:17):
All right.
So it seems like this wholeeveryday moments thing is about
really slowing down and payingattention.

Speaker 2 (06:23):
Yeah, finding those hidden pockets of gratitude in
ordinary life.

Speaker 1 (06:27):
I like that.
Hidden pockets of gratitude.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
And the more we practice, the more we'll start
to see them.

Speaker 1 (06:32):
We're training our brains.

Speaker 2 (06:34):
It's like developing a gratitude lens.

Speaker 1 (06:36):
Ooh, a gratitude lens .
I like that a lot, yeah, okay,so what about those people in
our lives?
Should we move on torelationships and connection?

Speaker 2 (06:43):
Yes, let's dive into that world.

Speaker 1 (06:45):
Okay, let's go All right.
So we've tackled everydaymoments, but now let's talk
about relationships thatrelationships and connection
category.
I'm really intrigued by that.

Speaker 2 (06:55):
Yeah, this one's all about appreciating those people
who you know just enrich ourlives.

Speaker 1 (07:01):
The ones who are there for us, who make us happy.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
Yeah, connections that bring us joy, support, you
know.

Speaker 1 (07:07):
It's so true.
Our relationships are such abig part of like why we feel
grateful in general absolutely, and these prompts really make
you think about that okay, whatkind of problems are we talking
about here?

Speaker 2 (07:17):
okay.
So there's one that asks who issomeone who has supported you
recently, even in a small way Ilike that yeah like even those
little things right, becausesometimes those matter the most
totally yeah, like a friendlending an ear, you know a
family member helping out withsomething.

Speaker 1 (07:34):
Yeah, or a co-worker who just gives you a little
encouragement.

Speaker 2 (07:37):
Exactly.
Sometimes it's those smallgestures that mean the most.

Speaker 1 (07:40):
Yeah, those little moments of support that can
really turn your day around.

Speaker 2 (07:44):
Absolutely.

Speaker 1 (07:45):
I see there's another one here about friendships.

Speaker 2 (07:47):
Oh yeah, this one's great.

Speaker 1 (07:48):
Write about a friendship that brings you joy.
Oh yeah, this one's great.
Write about a friendship thatbrings you joy.

Speaker 2 (07:51):
I mean come on, that's heartwarming.
Yeah, I know, it's just aboutcelebrating those connections.

Speaker 1 (07:55):
Yeah, the people who make you laugh, who make you
feel seen and understood.
Yeah, your people.

Speaker 2 (07:59):
Exactly.

Speaker 1 (07:59):
And there's another prompt here that I think is
really cool.

Speaker 2 (08:02):
Okay, yeah.
It says to think about someonewho recently made you smile
unexpectedly.
Oh, I love that.

Speaker 1 (08:09):
Like maybe it's a stranger or the barista at your
coffee shop.

Speaker 2 (08:12):
Or your neighbor.

Speaker 1 (08:13):
Yeah, those little unexpected moments of connection
.

Speaker 2 (08:16):
Just reminds us we're all connected, you know.

Speaker 1 (08:18):
It's so true.
So I'm noticing that a lot ofthese prompts are about shifting
our focus to the positive, towhat's already good in our
relationship.

Speaker 2 (08:26):
Exactly.
It's about appreciating theabundance of love and connection
that we have in our lives.

Speaker 1 (08:31):
I love that and Appreciating the abundance of
love and connection that we havein our lives.
I love that and, speaking ofabundance, lestallion has a
great quote here oh yeah, whatis it?
The relationships in our livesare gifts.
Each one offers support, laughter and love that make
life's journey richer and moremeaningful.
Oh, that's beautiful I knowright, it makes you want to just
hug all your friends.
Okay, but let's be real for asecond.

(08:51):
Relationships aren't alwayssunshine and roses, you know.

Speaker 2 (08:54):
Right.

Speaker 1 (08:55):
So are there any prompts that address, like, the
more challenging side of things?

Speaker 2 (09:01):
Yeah, definitely.
The next category embracinglife's challenges gets into that
.

Speaker 1 (09:07):
Okay, yeah, that makes sense.

Speaker 2 (09:08):
Like.
One prompt that's relevant hereasks what is one challenge
you've overcome recently?

Speaker 1 (09:14):
Hmm, that's a good one.

Speaker 2 (09:15):
Yeah, whether it's personal or in a relationship.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
Right.
It makes you realize how strongyou are.

Speaker 2 (09:19):
Exactly it's about recognizing your resilience.

Speaker 1 (09:22):
There's another prompt that asks about setbacks.

Speaker 2 (09:26):
Oh yeah, this one's all about learning from those
tough experiences.

Speaker 1 (09:29):
It's like what did you learn from this?
How did you grow from that?

Speaker 2 (09:31):
Exactly, it's reframing those so-called
failures.

Speaker 1 (09:34):
Into opportunities for growth.
Exactly Okay, I like that, andof course Lestallion has a
perfect quote for this too.
I bet they do.
What is it?
Challenges are growth indisguise.
Every obstacle you overcomemakes you stronger and helps you
appreciate the journey evenmore.

Speaker 2 (09:49):
It's so true, like those, tough times make us who
we are.

Speaker 1 (09:53):
Yeah, and they often bring us closer to the people
who are supporting us through it, totally Okay.
So we've talked aboutchallenges, but what about
celebrating our wins?

Speaker 2 (10:01):
Yes, let's move on to finding gratitude in
achievements.

Speaker 1 (10:06):
I'm ready for some confetti.

Speaker 2 (10:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (10:08):
What are some of the prompts in this category?

Speaker 2 (10:12):
So there's one that asks think about a small goal
you've accomplished recently.

Speaker 1 (10:15):
I love that yeah Like it doesn't have to be huge.

Speaker 2 (10:17):
Right.

Speaker 1 (10:17):
Just something that you're proud of.

Speaker 2 (10:19):
Exactly those little victories are important.

Speaker 1 (10:21):
And it's not just about, like, external
achievements.

Speaker 2 (10:26):
Right, right.

Speaker 1 (10:26):
There's another prompt about personal habits.

Speaker 2 (10:29):
Oh yeah, like starting a morning routine or
prioritizing self-care.

Speaker 1 (10:33):
Like the things you do for yourself that make a
positive impact.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
It's about becoming the best version of you.

Speaker 1 (10:39):
I love that.

Speaker 2 (10:40):
And when we feel good about ourselves, it shows up in
our relationships too.

Speaker 1 (10:44):
So true, and you know , lestallion has a quote for
this one too.

Speaker 2 (10:47):
Oh, of course they do .
What is it?

Speaker 1 (10:49):
Celebrating your achievements is an act of
gratitude for your hard work.
Each success is a reminder ofyour potential and dedication.

Speaker 2 (10:57):
Yes, we need to celebrate ourselves more.

Speaker 1 (11:00):
Totally Okay.
We're on to the last category, appreciating the present moment.

Speaker 2 (11:04):
Oh, this is a good one.

Speaker 1 (11:05):
I know right, it's all about being here now.

Speaker 2 (11:08):
Slowing down, tuning in.

Speaker 1 (11:10):
There's a prompt that asks what is one thing about
today that you're thankful for,Like right now?

Speaker 2 (11:16):
So simple, but so powerful.

Speaker 1 (11:18):
Right, it just brings you back to the present moment.
Exactly, and another promptasks about a recent moment when
you felt fully present.

Speaker 2 (11:26):
Oh yeah, like lost in a conversation or just enjoying
nature.

Speaker 1 (11:30):
Like when you completely lose track of time
because you're so absorbed inthe experience.

Speaker 2 (11:34):
Love those moments.

Speaker 1 (11:35):
Me too.
And of course, Lestallion sumsit up perfectly.

Speaker 2 (11:38):
Hit me with the quote .

Speaker 1 (11:39):
The present moment is where life happens.
Finding gratitude in the nowopens your heart to peace and
fulfillment.

Speaker 2 (11:46):
So beautiful.
It's a reminder that gratitudeis available to us in every

Speaker 1 (11:51):
I know, wow, this has been such an amazing deep dive.

Speaker 2 (11:54):
It has.

Speaker 1 (11:54):
I feel so inspired to put these prompts into practice
.

Speaker 2 (11:57):
Me too, and remember gratitude is a practice, not a
destination.

Speaker 1 (12:02):
So true the more we practice it, the more natural it
becomes.

Speaker 2 (12:05):
Exactly.
