Have you ever scrolled past yet another Lestallion journal ad and wondered what makes these notebooks so special? We certainly did, which is why we decided to take a deep dive into the phenomenon that's turning ordinary journalers into passionate advocates for this mindfulness-focused brand.

What we discovered goes far beyond marketing hype. Lestallion has masterfully blurred the lines between product and practice, creating journals where every physical feature serves a mindfulness purpose. From the satisfying weight of 120 GSM paper that prevents distracting bleed-through to the specially engineered binding that allows pages to lay perfectly flat while you write, these journals eliminate the small frustrations that can pull you out of a reflective state. Even the back pocket isn't just a convenient storage space—it's designed as a home for personal mementos that ground you in positive emotions and present-moment awareness.

Throughout our conversation, we share personal stories of how journaling transformed our perspectives during difficult times. One of us found that a simple gratitude practice shifted focus from negativity to appreciation, while another discovered that processing a painful breakup through writing revealed patterns and led to meaningful life changes. These experiences highlight what Lestallion seems to understand intuitively: journaling isn't just about recording thoughts—it's about creating a sacred space for self-discovery. As writer Anaïs Nin beautifully expressed, "We write to taste life twice, in the moment and in retrospect."

Whether you're a skeptic or already a journaling enthusiast, our exploration might inspire you to pick up a pen and discover how this simple practice can make mindfulness more accessible than you ever thought possible. No meditation retreat required—just a few minutes each day with your thoughts and a blank page. Ready to see if Lestallion lives up to the hype? We certainly are.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey everyone and welcome back for another deep
dive.
You know, today we're going tobe looking at Lestallion
journals and you know, I knowthose are pretty popular
nowadays.
But we thought it'd be reallyinteresting to kind of dig into
their website a little bit andsee what they have to say about
mindfulness and how they kind ofconnect that to their product.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
Yeah, it seems like every time I open up Instagram
there's another ad for aLestallion journal.

Speaker 1 (00:22):
Right, like they're everywhere, and it makes you
wonder, like, is it all hype oris there something more to this?

Speaker 2 (00:28):
I think they've definitely tapped into something
, though, right Like this wholeidea of mindfulness is huge
right now, and they're kind ofpositioning themselves like the
go-to journal for that.

Speaker 1 (00:37):
Totally.
And it's interesting becausewhen I first heard about them I
just thought, oh, it's justanother journal company.
But they really do seem to begoing beyond just the product
itself.
You know, it's like they'retrying to build a whole
community, or like a lifestylebrand, around this idea of
mindfulness.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
Yeah, I think they're trying to sell an experience
more than just a notebook.

Speaker 1 (00:58):
Exactly and it's working because people are
buying into it.
You know, I know a few peoplewho swear by their listallion
journals.
They say it's like totallychanged their journaling
practice.

Speaker 2 (01:08):
I'm curious to see what they're actually saying on
their website, though, Like howare they connecting those dots
between the physical journal andthis whole idea of mindfulness?

Speaker 1 (01:16):
Well, let's dive in and find out, shall we?
So I was clicking around theirwebsite earlier, and one thing
that really stood out to me washow much they emphasize the
physical features of theirjournals oh, interesting, like
what kind of features?
Well, they talk a lot about thequality of the paper you know
it's like this thick 120 gsmwood free ivory paper.

(01:37):
They even have a whole sectionon their website dedicated to
explaining why that's importantfor mindfulness journaling okay,
so I can kind of see wherethey're going with that.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
Like, using high quality materials can definitely
enhance the whole experience.

Speaker 1 (01:49):
Right, Like if you're trying to be mindful and
present in the moment.
You don't want to be distractedby scratchy paper or ink that
bleeds through.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
Exactly.
It's like those littleannoyances can totally take you
out of that flow state.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
Totally.
And they also talk about theway their journals are bound,
like they use this specialbinding technique that allows
the journal to lay flat.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
Oh, that's nice.
I hate it when you have to likewrestle with a journal to keep
it open.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
Right.
And they say that having thejournal lay flat encourages you
to write more freely becauseyou're not fighting with the
spine.
You know.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
I can see how that would make a difference.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
Like it's more conducive to just letting your
thoughts flow out onto the page.
Yeah, and it's those littledetails that make me think
they've really put some thoughtinto how the physical journal
can impact your mindfulnesspractice.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
Yeah, it seems like they're not just throwing any
old notebook together andslapping a mindfulness label on
it, you know.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
Absolutely.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
And another feature that caught my eye was the back
pocket that they include in alltheir journals.
Oh yeah, what's the deal withthat?

Speaker 1 (02:52):
I've always wondered.
Well, on their website they sayit's meant to be a space for
you to store little reminders orinspirations, things that bring
you joy and help you staygrounded in the present moment.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
Okay, so like little mementos or quotes or something
like that.

Speaker 1 (03:03):
Exactly.
They even suggest tucking in adried flower or a photograph,
something that has personalmeaning to you.
I kind of like that.
It's like a little secretpocket of positivity, you know
Right, and it's another exampleof how they're going beyond just
the basic function of a journaland trying to create something
more intentional and meaningful.
I'm starting to see a patternhere.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
It seems like every feature has a mindfulness angle
to it.
Definitely they're reallytrying to create something more
intentional and meaningful.
I'm starting to see a patternhere.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
It seems like every feature has a mindfulness angle
to it.
Definitely, they're reallytrying to create a holistic
experience with these journals.
You know, it's not just aboutwriting, it's about creating a
space for reflection andself-discovery.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
It's almost like they're treating the journal as
a tool for mindfulness in and ofitself.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
Exactly, and I think that's what makes them so
interesting, because they'rereally blurring the lines
between a product and a practice, you know.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
Yeah, it's like they're saying hey, here's a
journal, but it's more than justa journal, it's a companion on
your mindfulness journey.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
You know what?
It's funny because my sisterwas telling me about how she got
into Lestallion journals.

Speaker 2 (04:05):
And she was saying that the act of choosing a
journal and a pen felt reallyritualistic for her, you know,
oh yeah, I can see that likeit's almost like setting an
intention before you even startwriting exactly, and she said
that having a beautiful journalthat she loved actually made her
want to journal more, which issomething she's always struggled
with in the past that makessense.
It's like when you have nicetools, you're more likely to use
them.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
Yeah, you totally, and she said that the quality of
the paper made a big differencetoo.
She's a bit of a paper snoblike me, and she said the smooth
, thick pages just made thewhole experience more enjoyable.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
It's like everything about the journal is designed to
enhance the experience ofwriting and reflection.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
Exactly, and you know , it's making me think about
this friend of mine who's amusician.
He's always saying that he getshis best ideas when he's just
messing around on his guitar, you know, like when he's not
trying to force anything, justletting the music flow through
him.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
Oh yeah, I totally get that.
It's like when you're notoverthinking it, that's when the
magic happens.

Speaker 1 (04:58):
Right and I think there's a parallel there with
journaling.
You know like sometimes, whenyou're just free writing,
without any agenda or pressure, that's when the most insightful
thoughts come out.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
Yeah, it's like you're giving your subconscious
mind a chance to speak.

Speaker 1 (05:12):
Exactly, and I think that's what Listallion is trying
to tap into with these journals.

Speaker 2 (05:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (05:15):
You know they're trying to create a space where
you can just be present withyour thoughts and feelings and
let them flow onto the page.

Speaker 2 (05:22):
It's like they're giving you permission to just be
yourself, without judgment orself-criticism, totally, and I
think that's a really powerfulmessage, especially in today's
world, where we're constantlybombarded with distractions and
pressures.

Speaker 1 (05:38):
Yeah, it's like they're offering a sanctuary, a
place where you can disconnectfrom all the noise and reconnect
with yourself Exactly, and youknow what it's making me want to
go out and buy a Lestallionjournal myself now, just to see
what all the hype is about.

Speaker 2 (05:46):
Me too.
I'm curious to experience itfirsthand and see if it lives up
to all the promises.

Speaker 1 (05:51):
Well, maybe we should make that our homework
assignment for next time.
You know, go out and getourselves a Lestallion journal,
and then we can come back andshare our experiences.

Speaker 2 (05:59):
I'm down for that.
It'll be interesting to see howthese journals actually impact
our own mindfulness practices.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
Awesome.
Well, it looks like we've gotour work cut out for us, then.
Until next time, happyjournaling everyone.

Speaker 2 (06:11):
Happy journaling.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
It's like they really thought about everything you
know, like how all these littledetails can add up to create a
more mindful experience.

Speaker 2 (06:20):
Yeah, it's not just about the writing itself, it's
about the whole ritual, thewhole process, you know.

Speaker 1 (06:25):
Exactly.

Speaker 2 (06:33):
And another thing they talk about on their website
is the importance of usingprompts to guide your journaling
practice oh yeah, I've heardabout that like using specific
questions or themes to help youfocus your thoughts Right and
Lestallion actually includes abunch of different prompts in
their journals, like things likewhat are you grateful for today
or what's one thing you want toaccomplish this week?
Okay.
So it's kind of like they'regiving you a starting point, you
know, like if you're feelingstuck or you don't know what to
write about, you can just pick aprompt and go from there.

Speaker 1 (06:55):
Exactly, and they say that using prompts can help you
explore different aspects ofyourself and uncover insights
that you might not haveotherwise thought about.

Speaker 2 (07:02):
That makes sense.
It's like having a little nudgein the right direction.

Speaker 1 (07:10):
And you know what it reminds me of this time when I
was feeling really lost anddirectionless in my life and a
friend of mine suggested I trythis gratitude journaling
exercise.

Speaker 2 (07:16):
Oh yeah, what was that?

Speaker 1 (07:18):
Well, she told me to write down three things.
I was grateful for every dayfor a month and I was like
really, yeah, that's it.
But I decided to give it a tryand I was actually surprised by
how much it helped.

Speaker 2 (07:29):
So like, what kind of things were you writing about?

Speaker 1 (07:32):
At first it was just like basic stuff, you know, like
my family and my health is aroof over my head.
But as I kept doing it, Istarted to notice more and more
things to be grateful for, likethe way the sun felt on my skin
or a really good cup of coffee.

Speaker 2 (07:47):
It's like you started to appreciate the little things
more.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
Exactly, and it really shifted my perspective.
I started to feel more positiveand hopeful and less stuck in
my own negativity.

Speaker 2 (07:58):
That's awesome.
It's like that, saying you knowwhat you focus on, expands.

Speaker 1 (08:01):
Right, and I think that's what Lestallion is trying
to do with their journals.
They're trying to help peoplefocus on the good, the positive,
the things that bring them joy.

Speaker 2 (08:10):
And using prompts can be a really effective way to do
that, because it gives you astructure and a framework for
your thoughts.

Speaker 1 (08:16):
Totally.
And you know what?
It's funny because I used tothink that mindfulness was all
about like meditating for hourson end or like going on silent
retreats.
You know?

Speaker 2 (08:25):
Yeah, I used to think that too, like it seemed so
intimidating and out of reach.

Speaker 1 (08:29):
But now I'm realizing that mindfulness can be
something as simple as taking afew minutes each day to reflect
on your thoughts and feelings.

Speaker 2 (08:37):
Exactly, it's about being present in the moment and
paying attention to what's goingon inside of you.

Speaker 1 (08:41):
And a journal can be a really helpful tool for that,
because it gives and it's likehaving a record of your journey.

Speaker 2 (08:52):
You know you can look back and see how far you've
come and what you've learnedalong the way.

Speaker 1 (08:56):
That's so true, and you know what's making me think
about this other friend of minewho's a writer, and she always
carries a notebook with hereverywhere she goes.

Speaker 2 (09:02):
Oh yeah, I know a few people that they're like always
jotting down ideas orobservations.

Speaker 1 (09:07):
Right and she told me that her notebook is like her
lifeline it's where sheprocesses her thoughts and works
through her creative blocks.

Speaker 2 (09:15):
It's like a safe space for her to just be herself
and let her thoughts flow out.

Speaker 1 (09:19):
Exactly, and I think that's what a good journal
should be, you know.
It should be a place where youfeel comfortable and free to
express yourself withoutjudgment.

Speaker 2 (09:27):
And a place where you can connect with your inner
wisdom and tap into yourcreativity.

Speaker 1 (09:31):
Absolutely, and I think Lestallion is really on to
something with their approachto mindfulness journaling.
You know, it's not just aproduct, it's a philosophy.
Yeah, they're really trying tochange the way people think
about journaling and make itmore accessible and appealing to
a wider audience.
And you know what?
I think they're succeedingbecause more and more people are

(09:52):
starting to see the value ofmindfulness and they're looking
for tools to help them cultivateit in their daily lives.

Speaker 2 (09:57):
And Listallion is definitely providing one of
those tools.
Well said so I guess thequestion now is are we ready to
join the Listallion Club?
I think it's time to give it atry, you know.
See if it lives up to all thehype.

Speaker 1 (10:08):
I'm game, let's do it .

Speaker 2 (10:10):
Yeah hype.

Speaker 1 (10:12):
I'm game, let's do it .
Yeah, you know it's funny, because I used to think that
journaling was just for, liketeenagers or people who are
going through like major lifechanges, you know.

Speaker 2 (10:19):
Yeah, I had this image in my head of like a
teenage girl writing in herdiary with a lock and key.

Speaker 1 (10:24):
Right, but now I'm realizing that journaling can be
beneficial for anyone, regardless of their age or their
life circumstances.

Speaker 2 (10:31):
It's like a tool for self-reflection and growth.
You know it's a way to connectwith your inner thoughts and
feelings and make sense of theworld around you.

Speaker 1 (10:38):
Exactly, and I think Lestallion is really tapping
into that.
With their whole mindfulnessapproach, you know they're
making journaling seem less likethis daunting task and more
like this enjoyable andaccessible practice.

Speaker 2 (10:51):
Yeah, it's like they're taking the stigma out of
it and making it cool, you know.

Speaker 1 (10:55):
Totally, and you know what that's making me think
about.
This time, when I was goingthrough a really tough breakup
and I was a mess, I was likecrying all the time, couldn't
sleep, couldn't eat.

Speaker 2 (11:06):
Oh man, breakups are the worst.

Speaker 1 (11:08):
I know Right, and a friend of mine suggested that I
try writing down my feelings ina journal and at first I was
like resistant because I thoughtit was going to be like super
cheesy and awkward, you know.
Yeah, I get that Like who wantsto relive all that pain, right,
but I was desperate, so Idecided to give it a try and I
was actually surprised by howmuch it helped.
Like just the act of gettingall those thoughts and feelings

(11:29):
out of my head and onto paperwas so cathartic.

Speaker 2 (11:33):
It's like you were releasing them, you know,
instead of bottling them upinside.

Speaker 1 (11:37):
Exactly, and as I kept writing, I started to
notice patterns in my thinking, like I was able to see how my
own insecurities and fears werecontributing to my unhappiness.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
So it was like you were gaining self-awareness
through the process of writing.

Speaker 1 (11:50):
Totally, and it helped me to start making
changes in my life.

Speaker 2 (11:53):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (11:54):
You know like I started going to therapy, I
started exercising more, Istarted spending more time with
loved ones.

Speaker 2 (11:59):
Wow.
So journaling was like acatalyst for positive change in
your life.

Speaker 1 (12:03):
It really was, and you know what it's making me
think about this quote by thewriter Anais Nin.
She said we write to taste lifetwice in the moment and in
retrospect.

Speaker 2 (12:13):
Ooh, I like that.

Speaker 1 (12:20):
Right, and I think that's so true, because when you
journal, you're not onlyprocessing your experiences in
the moment, but you're alsocreating a record of your
journey that you can look backon later and learn from.

Speaker 2 (12:26):
It's like you're giving yourself the gift of
perspective you know.

Speaker 1 (12:29):
Exactly, and I think that's one of those powerful
things about journaling itallows you to step outside of
yourself and see your life froma different angle.

Speaker 2 (12:35):
And that can be really helpful for growth and
healing, you know.

Speaker 1 (12:39):
Absolutely so.
I guess the takeaway here isthat journaling can be a really
powerful tool for mindfulnessand self-discovery, you know,
and it doesn't have to be thisbig scary thing, it can be as
simple as taking a few minuteseach day to write down your
thoughts and feelings big scarything.

Speaker 2 (12:53):
It can be as simple as taking a few minutes each day
to write down your thoughts andfeelings.
Yeah, just start small and seewhere it takes you.
You know you might be surprisedby what you uncover.

Speaker 1 (12:58):
Well said so to our listeners.
We encourage you to explore theworld of journaling and see if
you can become your own personalpathway to mindfulness and
well-being.

Speaker 2 (13:08):
And who knows, maybe it'll even inspire you to write
your own deep dive someday.

Speaker 1 (13:12):
Uh-huh, that would be awesome.
Well, that's all the time wehave for today's deep dive, but
we hope you enjoyed it and we'llsee you next time.
