What if your best results arrive the moment you stop trying to impress anyone? We dive into the quiet switch that turns fear-fueled output into work that feels alive: creating for love, not for approval. Through a simple kitchen-table metaphor—the three-course meal cooked from the heart—we show how attention drifts from play to performance the instant we start asking, Is this good enough? That shift drags us into control mode, where anxiety rises, choices shrink, and the joy drains out of the making.

SPEAKER_00 (00:00):
Welcome to Let It Be Easy with Susie Moore.
Here is a truth that nobodytells you, my friends, okay?
Whenever you are creatinganything, whether it's a fancy
meal, whether it is an onlinecourse, whether it's a podcast,

(00:23):
whatever it is that you arebuilding, creating, working on
right now, this is what matters.
When you want to createsomething beautiful for the sake
of it, like the art is the work, the outcome is the work.
This is the joy.
This is the point.
When you care about what it isthat you're creating to create

(00:48):
the highest and best work, that's wonderful.
That is clean energy.
So, for example, let's stickwith a fancy meal for the point
of this episode today.
Imagine if I'm cooking athree-course meal for friends
that I really love and I justwant to pour my heart into it
and have it be really special.
That's one thing.

(01:09):
That's gorgeous.
That's creating.
That's me being in sync andhaving fun.
But as soon as I turn my focusor attention to what will people
think, is this good enough?
Have I messed it up?
Am I even ready for this?
Who am I to be so bold as tothink that I'm Ina Garten?
That is where the work getsdiluted.

(01:32):
When we let go of who do wethink we are on all these
questions and uh this feeling ofself-doubt coming back to it,
looking at it, anticipating whatcould go wrong, anticipating
people not liking it,anticipating, oh my gosh, what
are people gonna think when Idon't succeed at this thing?
When we focus on that, we loseall of our creative power, we

(01:54):
lose our energy, we lose ourenthusiasm.
But letting go of that, justfocusing on creating the
highest, best, most beautifulthing, that returns your
attention back to creation, backto love, not fear.
And this is what creationrecognizes.

(02:15):
This is how gorgeous things cometo be in the world.
Not because someone's thinking,is this good enough?
Can I do it?
What's everyone gonna say aboutit?
Mmm, that is a very, verydifferent place to be to compare
to putting our hearts out thereand doing something for the sake
of it, for the love of it,because we want to do it.

(02:37):
When we care about success oroutcomes in the way that they'll
be perceived, that pulls ourattention into control.
And control is what we need tomanage when we are afraid.
When we can maybe loosen up onthe control, not take our
thoughts so seriously, be alittle easier about it.
Our energy, our focus, ourattention comes back to love,

(03:02):
comes back to the creativeprocess.
And not only do we have morefun, not only do we get to
actually enjoy and experienceour life, but also we often
create better outcomes becausewe're not obsessed with the
externals, we're not obsessedwith, oh, you know, what's
anyone gonna think about this?

(03:23):
We're simply focused on thework.
Can you turn down the voice of,ooh, you know, how how might
this be met?
And focus purely on what it isthat that you're doing, that
you're allowing in, that you'rein the process of creating this,

(03:43):
my friends, is how we get notjust great results, but we
actually don't miss our lives.
Until tomorrow, my friends.
So much love and ease.
