Have you ever wondered if that persistent desire in your heart actually means something? Contrary to popular belief, your desires aren't random feelings to dismiss or suppress—they're powerful indicators of your path forward.

Desire serves as our fundamental life force. Without it, nothing would ever happen. Every achievement, relationship, creation, or even simple daily task stems from wanting something. When we recognize the true nature of desire, we unlock an incredible perspective: the desire itself comes equipped with what I call a "package of competence." That persistent want exists within you because, at some level, you already possess the potential to fulfill it.

And, as a special bonus, I want to give you FREE access to my signature course, Slay Your Year (usually $997)! All you have to do is:

  • Leave a review of this podcast.
  • Email a screenshot of your review to info@susie-moore.com

Simple as that!

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to Let it Be Easy with Susie Moore.
Let's talk a bit today aboutdesire, desire.
Desire, I think, hasinteresting connotations.
I think some people think of itpurely sexually, like sexual

(00:20):
desires, and I think that alsosometimes we think that our
desires are random, or they'rekind of like fleeting dreams, or
they don't mean anything, orthey're weird, or they're not
something to trust.
My friends, nothing wouldhappen without desire.
Desire is our life force.

(00:43):
If no one ever wanted anything, nothing would happen.
Really, really, think about it.
Desire is so healthy, it'sappropriate, it's natural.
If we didn't have desires, if wedidn't have dreams, if we
didn't have goals, we wouldnever focus, we would never
achieve anything.
Without an object of desire, anobject of attention, nothing

(01:07):
can take place, no energy canmove through us.
Whether you're writing a bookor making a sandwich, or
traveling the world or meetingup with some friends for dinner,
it's all because you wantsomething, am I right?
This is why we don't ever wantto eradicate our desires or
dampen them or think they'resilly.
Desires are our life force andif you want something, desire.

(01:33):
Your desire is saying come thisway, it's safe over here,
follow me, look to your life forproof of this because I know
it's been true for me on so manyoccasions.
Maybe I desire something but Idon't feel quite ready.
So maybe I'll desire anopportunity, but I'll go.

(01:54):
Eek, that's a little bit scary.
I haven't got any experience inthat yet.
Is it okay if I go for it?
Here's what I've learned whenyou have the desire, the desire
brings with it the goods.
Meaning, if you want to do it,or be, do or have the thing,

(02:14):
even if you've never been ordone or had that thing before,
because the desire has arisenwithin you, you come with this
package of competence, desireplus package.
Right, if you want something, look, we're all meant to grow
and change and evolve.
You didn't used to know how towalk once.
You didn't used to know how todrive a car, you didn't used to

(02:35):
know how to show up on a firstday at work, but you learned
right.
Because with that desire, withthose steps forward, because
with that desire, with thosesteps forward, you are actually
equipped for the thing that youwanted.
So what is it that you wantright now?
What do you want?
What do you want this year?
Do you want some roaringsuccess?
Do you want a new relationship?

(02:56):
Do you want to make a bold move?
Do you want to have a hardconversation?
Well, if you're desiringsomething, if there's something
that you want, congratulations.
You're alive.
You're a human being.
Desire is your life force, justlike breath, and maybe that
desire, especially if it's beenconsistent, maybe that desire is

(03:18):
pointing you in the perfectdirection and the fact that the
desire exists at all is proofthat you can do the thing.
You can do it.
You know.
Showing up in New York with noconnections, no friends, no,
nothing.
When I was 25, my desire was toland an amazing job and be

(03:41):
really, really well paid, makeamazing friends and have a
really good time.
That was my desire.
That led me to LinkedIn, whichled to coffees, which led to
jobs, which led to an incrediblecareer working in the tech
industry in New York.
The desire itself was enough.
I didn't know the people, Ididn't know the products, I
didn't know the city, I didn'tknow the American way of working

(04:03):
, but my desire was to thrivehere and, as a result, I took
the actions that came with thatpackage of competence that I
didn't know I had until Istarted acting.
What if that thing that you wantis something that you're
actually perfectly prepared foryou just need to take the first

(04:25):
step.
Until tomorrow, my friends, somuch love and ease.
