Have you ever found yourself captivated by an unexpected discovery that transformed your perspective? That's exactly what happened when I finally watched "The Chosen," a crowdfunded series about Jesus that I'd been hearing about for years. Though late to the phenomenon, my binge-watching journey through all available seasons sparked profound realizations about human nature and faith that I'm compelled to share.

What fascinates me most is how human behavior remains fundamentally unchanged across millennia. The jealousy, cynicism, and resistance faced by those who stand out – whether in ancient Jerusalem or modern society – follow identical patterns. Jesus himself, arguably history's most discussed figure, encountered these same emotional responses to his teachings. Watching these dynamics unfold on screen highlighted a striking truth: while our world has transformed technologically, our core emotional responses remain remarkably constant.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to Let it Be Easy with Susie Moore.
I've got to tell you, myfriends, I've been completely
obsessed.
I'm late to the party on thisshow okay, maybe five years or
six years late to the party butI am obsessed with this series

(00:22):
called the Chosen, which isabout the life of Jesus.
Now, I know that there are lotsof shows or movies that are
made historically around Jesus.
They're all very different.
I believe the Chosen is themost crowdfunded movie in

(00:43):
history.
Don't quote me on that in caseI'm wrong, but that's what I've
heard, or something along thoselines and someone who helped me
with my YouTube channel a coupleof years ago he's one of the
executive producers, which ishow I first heard of it.
But I never watched it untilrecently.
And now I've binged all theseasons.
I'm so psyched for season five.

(01:04):
Now I've binged all the seasons.
I'm so psyched for season five.
And what's interesting?
There's also a great show Ithink it's on Amazon Prime
called House of David.
What's so fascinating aboutthese shows?
Of course, besides the contentthey're so beautifully made,
they are gripping.
Oh, wow, oh wow is really acouple of things, a couple of

(01:25):
insights that I've had watchingessentially these, these shows
that are based on the bible.
The first is this human nature, whether it's now or two and a
half thousand years ago, doesnot change right.
There are people who werejealous.
There are people who are alwaysgoing to be cynical.

(01:47):
There are people who are notgoing to like it when you
succeed, when they notice yourascension, when they notice that
you're special and that youstand out.
Jesus might be the mostcontroversial figure in history,
I think, the person who wespeak about the most around the
world.
Different religions, I know, different takes on Jesus, but
essentially what he struggledwith, however and look, who

(02:11):
knows how accurate historicallythese series get to be but the
gist is there, right, thesentiment, it's all there, and
so it's just astounding to mehow human nature doesn't change
and how faith is something thatwe wrestle with, even in the
face of someone who can performhealing and miracles already.

(02:36):
I certainly would Worth yourtime, but you know it's
interesting because as I watchthese shows, I noticed the
magical, transformative power offaith.
I also observe and enjoy seeingthe resistance to towards faith

(02:58):
and how easily we can feelconfused or scared around things
that we don't understand.
Faith, to me, it's just thisknowing that love is real.
It's the only thing that's real.
I can trust divine timing.
Not everything has to happen onmy timetable, I don't need to

(03:22):
control things.
And really, you know, faith tome is coming back to this place
of trust.
Trust and because I'm, of course, in this rabbit hole of these
shows, there is a kind ofspin-off it's a documentary
around the actor Jonathan Arumiis his name who plays Jesus, who
people are just reallyconnecting with.

(03:42):
He's so sincere and authenticand you can see that his faith
is so strong.
It's beautiful to watch.
But there's a spin-off, adocumentary called Jonathan and
Jesus, which I've also watched, and it's really about him
playing this character of Jesus.
And there is a line, there is aninterview of a pastor or a

(04:04):
minister I forget his name, forgive me in this documentary
called Jonathan and Jesus andit's about trust, and he tells
this story about how someonewent to Mother Teresa praying
for help, praying for clarity, because they were confused in

(04:24):
terms of a life direction andclarity was eluding them, and
what Mother Teresa said was Iwon't pray for clarity, I will
pray for trust.
Oh, I just thought that wasbeautiful, because isn't that

(04:46):
what really faith is?
Knowing it's not all in ourhands, knowing that there is a
greater power here, knowing thatwe are being supported.
I'm not sure I could getthrough my life without this
sense of mysticism, knowing thatI'm here for a reason and that
I'm here to fulfill a missionand that we all have our birth
divine right to make the highestcontribution for our lives.

(05:10):
And how can we do that?
How can we do that, especiallyover time, without trust?
It's not seeing everything,it's not having the perfect
business plan, it's not knowing10 steps ahead.
It is just trusting that, nomatter what, you will be okay,

(05:31):
you will be supported and thingsare unfolding as they should.
Until tomorrow, my friends, somuch love and ease.
Hey friend, I've got somethingreally cool for you.
