The season promises rest, but the pull to keep performing can feel louder than ever. We open up about the quiet addiction to busyness—how the brain chases dopamine from tasks, messages, and metrics—and why that momentum becomes emotional armor when we’d rather not sit with our feelings. With warmth and candor, we reframe worth as something native, not earned, and offer simple, real-world shifts to help you step out of the hustle and into presence.

🔥 Because it's my birthday, I'm inviting you to join Self Coaching Society, my inner circle, for the WHOLE of 2026 for just $297. Lock me in as your life coach for just $297 for a WHOLE YEAR here. 🔥

SPEAKER_00 (00:00):
Welcome to Let It Be Easy with Susie Moore.
Well, hello my friend.
How are you feeling this season?
My gosh, Christmas, theholidays, it is such a time of

(00:20):
busyness, family, travel, events, get-togethers, all the
things, right?
And sometimes it can still behard to switch off, even though
we know that this is a time foreating and for merriment and for
people that we care about.
But if you struggle to detachfrom your phone, if you struggle

(00:42):
to uh fail to say goodbye toyour inbox and your Slack
momentarily, ask yourself thisquestion.
Am I addicted to being busy?
And by the way, this is verynatural if we are.
It's not as if we can all of asudden uh just switch off

(01:06):
immediately.
Oh, okay, you know, it's Friday,so phone off.
Or, oh, you know, it's theholiday season, so you know,
it's all just about my kids nowand about my extended family.
Being busy is our state day today, often 24-7, especially with
our connection to our devices.

But think about it this way: sometimes that busyness gives us (01:23):
undefined
that dopamine hit, right?
The reward chemical in thebrain.
We get this hit of importancethat we feel good and productive
and worthy, even when we're wornout, even no, even when we know
that we are entitled to a break.

(01:45):
Being busy too, it can also bethis form of emotional armor
because when we are busy, whenwe're doing things, when there's
stuff to do, we don't have tosit with our feelings, talk
about our feelings, and enjoyand be curious about what comes
up within us when we're not inthis state of momentum, we're

(02:06):
not in this state of constantmovement.
So this time of year, with justgosh, how many days left in
2025?
Can you just remind yourselfgently with self-compassion that
your worth right now is not tiedto what you do, it's not tied to

(02:28):
the amazing food that you putout, it's not tied to getting
the perfect present or sayingthe right thing or putting up
with that crazy relative ofyours who just drives you mad,
my friends.
If you feel like this season iswhen you have to still be at it,
still be on, still be perfect, still have it all together, I

(02:51):
wonder if that's true.
I wonder what would it take foryou to actually totally kick
back, lie down, put your feetup, accept yourself as you are,
accept the others in your lifeas they are, and know that right
now, yes, it is a season ofrest.
It is a season of reflection.

(03:12):
And if you go for your laptop,go for your phone, go for your
iPad, go to open the apps, whatelse could be possible?
Could you breathe?
Could you start a conversation?
Could you just simply look up atthe sky?
Go for a short walk in the sunoutside, do anything that does
not require you to do somethingproductive or worthwhile, or

(03:35):
anything that even has anymeasurement of outcome.
Thinking of you this season, myfriends, and until tomorrow, so
much love and ease.
