Have you ever noticed how frantically we search for answers when faced with challenges? We kick up dust, move mountains, and create chaos in our desperation to find solutions. But what if the answer isn't in the noise, but in the silence?

Today's episode explores a beautiful parable about a valuable watch lost in a dark mine. While seasoned miners frantically searched to no avail, a young boy simply sat in silence and listened for the tick, finding it with ease. Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to Let it Be Easy with Susie Moore.
Well, well, well, my friends, Ihave a parable for you today.
Who doesn't love a good story?
I love a parable to kick off myday, and maybe you've heard

(00:21):
this one, maybe you haven't, butI always believe that what
you're listening to, what you'retuning into, has a message for
you.
That's why you're a frequencymatch and maybe you need this
message today.
So the parable is called thelost watch in the mine.
Have you heard it?
If you have, fabulous.

(00:42):
Hear it again.
If not, get excited.
So a miner loses his veryvaluable watch while working
inside a deep and dusty and darkmine.
He and his several other minerfriends search frantically for
it.
Right, so they kick up dust offriends search frantically for

(01:06):
it, right so they kick up dust, move rocks, they talk over each
other.
They're like where is thiswatch?
But they can't find it.
The watch remains lost andeventually everyone gives up.
Later, a young boy who'd beenwatching quietly from the sides
asks if he can try to find it.

(01:26):
He walks into the mine alone, sits silently and waits.
Within minutes he walks backout holding the watch.
How did you find it?
The miners asked.
He replies it was easy.

(01:48):
I just sat, still, I listenedand I could hear it ticking.
Wow, isn't that a story, myfriend?
What if, sometimes, the noise, the hustle, the frantic

(02:09):
searching isn't the answer?
What if it's silence?
What if it's stillness?
Sometimes I find myself doingthis.
I think that the solution Ineed to something is found, that
the solution that I need tofind for something I call
friends.
I start chat, gpt-ing, I'msearching here, I'm searching

(02:32):
there, and there's somethingalmost chaotic to it, versus
just getting quiet, alone, beingwith myself, being with myself
because clarity requires silence.
And that inner tick, yourintuition, your gut, your

(03:02):
instinct, whatever you call itit's always there, but we don't
always listen If you feel stuck.
Right now, I know a lot ofpeople have been telling me they
feel stuck, they want to pivot, they want to shift, or maybe
you feel overwhelmed.
I know that our instinct is toget frantic right, to start
kicking around the rocks likethe miners, and it might be to
do more, to get busier, to takemore action.
But what if it isn't more thatwe have to do?

(03:24):
What if it's less, like the boyin this story who found the
watch?
What if it's just us sitting insilence, seemingly doing
nothing by other people'sstandards, but just listening
for the tick, that clarity thatyou need.
It's inside of you, but itcannot shout over the noise and

(03:47):
we drown it out with socialmedia, with television, with
loud conversations, with groupchats, with all of the things.
Can we instead have the courageto be still and to create the
space to hear the tick?

(04:08):
Until tomorrow, my friends, somuch love and ease.
