Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to Let it Be Easy with Susie Moore.
Okay, this fable I'm sharingwith you today, my dears, is one
of my favorites, especially ina world of distraction and
competition.
It's called simply the Lioness.

(00:23):
Don't you just love that, thelioness?
A controversy prevailed amongthe beasts of the field as to
which of the animals deserve themost credit for producing the
greatest number of whelps at abirth.
Don't you love this oldlanguage, whelps?
I suppose that means babies.
They rushed clamorously intothe presence of the lioness and

(00:47):
demanded of her the settlementof the dispute.
And you, they said how manysons have you at a birth?
The lioness laughed at them andsaid why?
I have only one, but that oneis altogether a thoroughbred
lion.
The value is in the worth, notin the number.

(01:14):
Oh, this can be applied to somany things.
Do you ever see all the stuffthat other people are doing and
go?
I've got to do that, I've gotto get on TikTok, I've got to
have a YouTube channel, or I'vegot to go to Greece, or I've got
to buy that new car, or I'vegot to get a swimming pool.
I've got to, I've got to, I'vegot to.
No, my friends, quality, quality, quality, quality,

(01:41):
results are about what'smeaningful, not about volume,
not about oh well, I wrote 30books.
Did you write 30 books or didyou write one really awesome
book?
You know, it's interestingbecause I think that sometimes
there's this pressure for us todo everything and be everywhere,
but those of us who really makethe most impact, in my opinion,

(02:06):
they're not everywhere.
They go deep in certain areasof their work and they create
meaningful, meaningful outcomesas a result.
So recently, for example, Ijust finished reading Liz
Gilbert's book All the Way tothe River.

(02:26):
And Liz Gilbert isn't reallythat active on social media.
She does occasional speechesand creative workshops, but most
of the time she kind of goesinto a cave and produces a book
every so often, and that is hercontribution.
It's not TikToks, it's notconstant touring, it's not

(02:47):
holding endless retreats everyweekend near her home, it's not
having her own podcast, it's nothaving a television show on
Netflix, it's the creation of ameaningful book.
So I look at this lion and I go,yeah, a single excellent
creation, a project, even arelationship, is more valuable

(03:10):
than just a pile of stuff, apile of other outcomes that,
yeah, you know, they certainlyhave their place too, but is it
your best stuff?
Is it your best work, depth, authenticity, doing less?

(03:31):
To me, as I get older, I beginto appreciate this more and more
Someone really knowing whattheir lane is, knowing what it
is that they care about.
It's not about numbers, it'sabout impact.
It's not about all thesemediocrities.
It's about creating somethingthat, to you, can be your
masterpiece.

(03:52):
To me, I find this soothing too, because it's not about being
really busy and doing all thethings.
It's focusing on what I want todo and creating it really well.
What about you?
It really well, what about you?
Until tomorrow, my friends, somuch love and ease.
Hey friend, are you feelingstuck in any area of your life?

(04:19):
Right now, I've got you.
With over a decade in coachingand a thousand self-help books
under my belt, I've refined sixjournal prompts that I'm giving
