Growth doesn't have to be a high-pressure experience filled with bro-culture mantras or anxiety-inducing expectations. As we explore in this episode, growth is simply a law of nature—something that happens inevitably as we move through life, just as plants reach toward sunlight and babies develop new abilities.

The real transformation in our lives occurs when we make a profound shift: moving from needing specific outcomes to trusting that whatever unfolds is exactly what's meant to be. Think about it—how many situations in your past that once seemed devastating ultimately led to unexpected opportunities? The anxiety we feel often stems from our attempts to control the future when experience has shown us that life unfolds in ways we couldn't have anticipated.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to Let it Be Easy with Susie Moore.
Let's talk about growth today, shall we, my friends?
Growth, now growth.
When I think about it, threekind of things come to mind.
The first is that awful kind ofchanting that you hear bros go

(00:22):
on about, sometimes like growth,it's all about growth, you know
, like if you're not growing,not growing, you're dying.
It feels very high pressure andI don't like it.
We're not leaning into that.
The second is like thediscomfort of growth.
I think that you know, if you'veever had any therapy or if you
do a lot of work on yourself, you'll notice how you've grown.
Or a difficult situation, you'll realize it is a growth

(00:43):
opportunity.
Or even if you're facingimposter syndrome when you take
strides ahead, that's also likegrowth.
Think about it right in termsof expansion.
But the best way, or, frankly, the most accurate way in my
opinion, to look at growth issimply as a law of nature.
Right, it is a law of nature.

(01:05):
Look around you.
Right, growth is reality.
Growth is the world with whichwe live in.
Like growth, is it?
Growth is where it's at.
What happens if you're notgrowing right?
You're stale, you're stagnant.
Death is the opposite of growth, and I'm not saying in this
bro-y, scared way.

(01:25):
I'm saying like open your eyes, look around.
Growth is natural.
So when you are going throughsomething that is forcing you to
grow, even though you might notlike that situation, can you
accept on a deeper level thatit's just necessary?
It's just, it's something thatno one can escape.
It's part of the humanexperience.
It is tricky, but look at evenbabies, right, when their teeth

(01:48):
are growing, they're crying, they're biting those little,
those little chew toys.
What are they called?
I'm using dog language now Chewtoys, teething toys, is that it
?
But their teeth have to come in.
Something very good and naturaland appropriate and healthy is
happening, but all we hear isscreaming in the middle of the
night.
Growth, becoming more mature, becoming more conscious.

(02:11):
Coming back to our ownsteadiness, our own
self-reliance.
It feels the same way.
It's true of the physical world, it's true of what's going on
inside of us.
Right, growth, our inside job.
This is what I've learned aboutgrowth overall.
Right now I'm 41 years old.
I've gone through manychallenging situations and this

(02:34):
is probably like the money shotright, like this is the real,
like the moral of the story, like this is the takeaway that
underpins my sense of peace, even when there's turbulence,
even when something unwantedhappens or something unexpected
happens, that can really rufflemy feathers.
Here it is the win, right, theflex, the joy, the magic is

(02:58):
shifting from needing anythingto happen, so a person to say
yes, or for this solution to befixed, or the train to finally
sorry, the train or plane tofinally take off on time, or for
my mother to be different, right, whatever it is right.
The real win is shifting fromneeding something to happen or

(03:18):
to change, or to shift totrusting, right.
Trust to trusting that whateveris happening, whatever's going
on, whatever's unfolding, however unpleasant, will be
exactly what it's supposed to be, exactly what it's meant to be
right.
We don't like to do this, rightHuman beings, we like to

(03:39):
control things.
We think it brings us safety.
It doesn't.
It just brings us anxiety.
Can you just, I mean, look atyour proof, for look at your
history, your past, as proof, hasn't so much unfolded in a way
that you couldn't havepredicted, maybe even better
than you could have predicted.
You just had to give it alittle time.
Wouldn't you go back and tellyourself just trust, this is

(04:00):
okay, even though this marriagedoesn't work out, this house
sale doesn't work out, eventhough that career didn't work
out.
What happens like what's goingto happen, is going to unfold
exactly as it should.
Trust, come back to trust.
Another couple of thoughts thatcome up when I remember that
trusting is really thefoundation of peace and letting

(04:20):
it be easy is that I'm also notplaying against anyone.
No one's like out to get meright.
No one's out to get me.
I'm not playing against asystem, not fighting anything.
I'm just showing up, doing mypart and playing with and
amongst the things that feelright for me.
I'm not against anything.
There's no comparison, there'sno oh, but she's further ahead

(04:43):
or he had it easier.
Growth is a law of nature.
What happens inside of us, noone else can feel, but we feel
there's a huge shift thathappens, a huge peaceful shift
that happens, and we go fromneeding to trusting and also
knowing that nothing's riggedagainst us.
People aren't against us, evenif they think that they are.

(05:05):
They don't have power over whatwe do next.
How can we welcome, embrace andhave a little fun with our
growth?
Right now I can talk some more,my friends.
So much love and ease.
Hey friend, I've got somethingreally cool for you.
