SPEAKER_00 (00:00):
Welcome to Let It Be Easy with Susie Moore.
When life lets you down, mygosh, when life lets you down,
we've all been here, we've allexperienced this in many, many

(00:21):
ways.
Maybe you feel as if you've beenlet down early in life with
parents that didn't show up foryou the way that you deserved.
Maybe you've lost a job orsomeone who you love left.
Maybe you worked towardssomething for so long and worked
so hard, and the outcome thatyou wanted or dreamed of, or

(00:44):
pretty much felt owed.
Just it didn't match yourexpectation.
It disappointed you.
Life lets us down, people let usdown, experiences let us down.
This is part of the humanexperience being here on planet

(01:05):
Earth.
And I think that the questionthat we jump to when this
happens is why me?
What did I do wrong?
I don't understand.
This is often when we kind ofvent to the world, we call our
friends, we shake our head, wefeel as if the universe is
withholding something from us,something terrible has happened,
there's been a mistake, we canfeel anger.

(01:28):
I mean, a lot of these emotionscome up when life goes wrong, so
to speak, right?
When life lets us down, whenthings don't go our way.
Why, why, why?
Often we can spoop in and wantto fix things, thinking there
must be another solution.
We want to blame that personover there.
We want to go, what?
Because it can even start tomake us feel crazy.

(01:51):
I have a question that can beuseful that you can ask yourself
whenever life goes wrong.
In fact, I used this with myfriend recently who had a
disappointing business venturethat she poured a whole lot
into.
She put so much into it, and theresult was extremely
disappointing to her.
It wasn't what she wanted.

(02:12):
And instead of going, whathappened?
How do we fix it?
What are our options?
Which are all good questions.
I mean, this isn't to negate thepractical part of things, right?
Because we're gonna have to takean action, take a step.
This is reality, I know.
But sometimes the betterquestion is the bigger question,
which requires us taking a stepback, zooming out a bit and

(02:37):
asking this instead.
What is this preparing me for?
Think about that.
If you listen to yesterday'sepisode about how our lives are
stories like books with ups anddowns and highs and lows and
twists and turns, during thosechapters, during those pages

(02:59):
when things are going prettydamn wrong for the character,
the the head, which is us, thelead character in the story,
when things are going wrong,when it's a book, when it's a
movie, when it's a story, weknow, oh no, this is setting
them up, right?
Something good has got tohappen.
This character is being tested, their metal's being tested,
their strength, theirresilience, their courage.

(03:21):
They're being set up forsomething greater.
Why can't we think that in ourown lives?
And if you don't think that thisis true, look at your history
for proof.
Look at your history forevidence.
When you lost something, whenlife seemed against you, with a
bit of time, with a f with a bitof perspective, didn't life work

(03:44):
out?
I always think to myself, I hadthe blessing of early challenges
in my life with my parentsliving in domestic violence
shelters, having very littlefinancially, constantly being on
the move.
That set me up.
I'm confident in new settings.
I trust myself.
I know that security isn'toutside of me.
It's not in a home or a place oreven a family.

(04:05):
It's within me.
I've always got me.
And I wouldn't trade that foranything.
Any picture perfect family.
I have a strength that I know isunique.
What about the thing that you'regoing through that's hard is
what if that thing that you'regoing through that's hard is
right now?
I get it.

(04:25):
Right?
Life gives us these unendingchallenges here here in Earth
School, as Byron Katie calls it.
So that challenge that you'refacing right now, instead of
thinking why me or when willthis be over or what the heck,
can we ask ourselves a betterquestion?
What is this preparing me for?

(04:49):
See what comes up.
Until tomorrow, my friends.
So much love and ease.
Hey friend, are you feelingstuck in any era of your life
right now?
