(00:00):
Hello everyone, welcome to the Lethal Venom podcast.
It's a show where I talk about anything I want with the honest
to God truth, no lies told. Today I am joined by Mr. Eddie
Ravenskar, he is the host along with his wife for the Creepy
Coffees podcast where they talk about paranormal stuff while
having a morning. Coffee, Eddie.
(00:22):
Thank you for so much for joining us today.
Thanks, Noah. It's a great to be here and we
appreciate the invitation. If you could just tell me a
little bit about yourself. Well, myself and Dawn, we've
recently found kind of like a little niche that we've really
enjoyed and that's mixing coffeewith or excuse me, paranormal.
(00:42):
What we do is we go out, we findall kinds of ghost stories.
We do our investigations and we try to, you know, encompass all
of that as well as having, you know, a good cup of coffee
because who doesn't love coffee for I mean, honestly?
So we've we've the two and founda pair and we're having a blast
doing it and everybody around usis enjoying it.
(01:04):
So we're continuing to search for the elusive paranormal and
the greatest cup of coffee in the world.
So tell me a little bit more about the podcast and how the
podcast came to be. Well, the podcast came to be
just out of, for a lack of better words, sheer boredom, I
guess you could call it. I've always been interested and
(01:27):
involved in the paranormal as well as Dawn has.
And then when her and I got together, we kind of tossed it
back and forth, but nothing everreally too seriously.
And then unfortunately, recentlyI've had some health issues that
had put me on the sofa for a little while and I was just
looking for something to do. And out of nowhere we just
(01:47):
popped into paranormal videos and started talking about it and
doing some research. And the whole time we're doing
this, we have a cup of coffee inour hands.
And we've went out on a couple of foot tours here in Flagstaff
and talked to a couple of the people here in the business
owners and found out that just about everybody has a ghost
(02:09):
story of where they're at, wherethey're working, or where they
live. So we decided just to move
forward on it. It started out kind of slow, and
then we just kind of like our format developed around us and
next thing you know, here we are.
We're global, we're drinking coffee, we're chasing ghosts,
and we're having a blast. What's your?
Process for research. In haunted places or eerie true
(02:30):
crime stories. Well, there really is no process
for we just kind of look, look for places.
And every time we go to like a coffee house or something, those
places, they're notorious for having ghost stories or
paranormal stories and stuff like that.
And I've learned, and Don will probably disagree, but I've
(02:52):
learned to keep my big mouth shut and my eyes and ears open.
And I've picked up a lot of things by just doing that.
And once I get a topic stuck in my head, her and I will discuss
it. And then Don is like my sleuth.
She'll go in and she'll start jumping down the rabbit hole and
start digging up facts for me. And if it's an interesting topic
(03:14):
and it looks like something thathasn't been flooded on the
market, because there's so many people out there that are doing
this and we kind of want to stayaway from the most popular ones
and do the ones that are a little bit off the beaten path.
And if we find interest in it, we dive deep into it.
We do the YouTube, we do the Google.
And we've actually started goingout and doing our own paranormal
(03:37):
investigation like we did a couple weeks ago.
We went to Milwaukee and went to, which was once owned by Al
Capone and it was crazy haunted and we had such a great time and
we've got so many things planned.
If you look at our website coming up in the next 6 months,
we have so much planned that we're going to Ireland, we're
(03:58):
going to Paris, we're going to Seattle, we're going to Portland
and there's just so much and this is just developing.
It's in the snowball effect and you know, we're just having a
blast. 11 Ghost hunt after another.
What's been the creepiest place case you and Don have ever
visited and would you ever come back?
(04:19):
Well, for Don, I can't really say because mine is a little bit
different than hers. If you want, I'll let her answer
that question herself. But for me, it was several years
ago, I went to Mansfield Prison and I did the overnight ghost
tour. And it really was kind of freaky
to be in the cells where the theinmates once were.
(04:43):
And it's just a whole lot of creepiness is all I can tell you
on that one. And I'm really looking forward
to October. We're going to do the Alcatraz
ghost tour and ghost hunt, you know, right around Halloween.
So I'm kind of imagining that's going to be the same thing.
Do you believe some people are more sensitive to supernatural
than others? Absolutely.
Without a question or a doubt. Dawn herself is, you know, very
(05:07):
hypersensitive. Where me, I just go in there and
I'm just like, OK, it's haunted.Show me, you know, I believe it.
I'm open to it, but she's more, she senses things, she fills
things. And I'm going to let her
elaborate a little bit on this. So, you know, without further
ado, this is Dawn. Hello.
Hi. So I'm not really sure if I'm
(05:28):
more hypersensitive to it, but it seems like especially when we
were just in Wisconsin and we had the divining rods and we're
asking questions, every one of my questions were answered where
the other people in our party would ask questions and several
times nothing would occur. So I, I think sometimes because
(05:50):
I might get scared easier or getmore freaked out, things
happened to me before they happened to to Eddie.
So I don't know if I'd say hypersensitive, but maybe
hypersensitive in my reaction. I asked Eddie a minute ago about
his creepiest place you've ever visited.
What is your creepiest place andwould you ever go back?
I don't. I don't know if I'd say it was
(06:11):
creepy when we went to Shakers, but it was definitely active.
And we saw that we took still pictures because they told us we
could take pictures in between the tour.
And we did see some different kind of unexplained shadows or
colors in some of our pictures. And when we were outside of
(06:32):
Shakers, Annie and I took a selfie and there was these two
lights that were only on me and kind of transcended down a
little bit. It ended up in the picture at
the bottom of my chin. So I'd say maybe not creepy, but
definitely activity. And yeah, I I'd be willing to go
back. There was some places that in
Shakers that we didn't actually see that I'd like to kind of
(06:54):
witness and go go through again. This can be a question directed
to both of you. Have either of you experienced
something paranormal that you just still can't explain?
On on an everyday basis we do the house we're living in right
now, it's haunted. I don't care what anybody says.
What I've done is, you know, those little cat balls that when
(07:17):
you touch them, they light up and everything, you know, so
that way they're, you know, for sensitivity.
I had them all over the house, you know, just for, you know,
for a lack of better words, shits and giggles.
And we would ask questions or wewould feel different things and
the little lights would go off for no reason whatsoever.
There'd be no wind, you know, noventilation blowing on them or
(07:39):
anything. And the lights would go on and
they, we would respond to our questions so that it's
unexplainable. But at the same time, you know,
we're, we're dealing with the paranormal.
So we, we open our minds to it. And every day something happens.
And like Don and I were talking that, you know, we don't really
realize. And most people don't realize
(08:01):
there's so much paranormal goingon around them that they're just
in a hurry and they don't see itor they don't know it.
It's if you really wanted to experience something and just,
you know, kind of see what we'retalking about, go sit in a
graveyard during the middle of the day and just be quiet and
just listen. You'll be surprised at what
you'll hear and what you'll see.It's, it's really unexplainable,
(08:25):
but it's actually pretty amazing.
Have any coffee shop owners evertold you their place was haunted
and they were rot? Oh my God, Noah.
Every time we go into a coffee shop and we tell them we have a
podcast about creepy coffees andwe talk about ghosts, everybody
comes out with the ghost story. It's it doesn't matter if it's
from a spoon falling off a tableto doors opening to lights
(08:49):
flickering to coffee pots brewing by themselves.
Everybody in every coffee house except maybe Starbucks has, you
know, their own little ghost story.
So I would say yes, every mom and pop store we've been into,
it says their place is haunted and they've got facts to back it
up. What's your favorite ghost story
with a Brew episode you've done so far and why?
(09:12):
Well, mine, honestly, I can't speak for Dawn, but we just
recently did one or actually we're in the process of doing
one right now and I'm editing it.
It's called the the Cleveland Torso Murders and it happened
right around the same time as the Black Dahlia, right at the
turn of the century in Cleveland, OH.
(09:32):
And myself, I grew up in Cleveland.
So everything to me, if it's Cleveland and it's noteworthy, I
want to know about it. And it, it was really
fascinating how that I believe there was eight murders where
the individuals were chopped up into little pieces and dissected
and placed all over Cleveland. And there was nothing ever heard
about it. Nothing was ever said.
(09:54):
And to me, so far, that one is the best one because obviously
it's from where I'm from and, you know, I've put a lot of
thought behind it. But then everyone I do is my
next favorite one because our podcasts are getting better and
better and we're getting more and and we're learning more
about the best way to do these and to create these.
(10:16):
So I would say that my favorite is the last one we did.
How do you balance the spooky with humor on your show?
I take Dawn along. She just like she said, she's a
little bit more apprehensive than I am.
Me, I, it, it takes a lot for meto be startled or to be afraid
(10:37):
or scared or anything. And I welcome, you know, a
spirit or an entity to come and talk to me or knock something
off the wall or, you know, show themselves.
We're done. On the other hand, she goes
along because she's interested and wants to know, but she
doesn't want anything to pop outat her.
You know, we were sitting on thesofa the other day.
She looked over at me and just turned completely white and she
(11:01):
said somebody just touched my shoulder and she was kind of
freaking out, but I was laughing.
So that that's how I deal with it.
And I like to tell these storiesand she's giving me dirty looks
right now, but that's OK. You know, Dawn is my comedy
relief, but I love her so. And we make a good team at it
because I'm the serious one and she's the Oh no, we can't do
(11:24):
that. And I'm like, Oh yes, we are.
I've. Not really had many much
paranormal stuff happened to me.The only two instances I've had
something happening where I kindof have believed in paranormal
was last year. I live in a three story
apartment complex and I live on the 2nd floor right in the
middle. And I remember I had gotten out
of the shower and I was looking out my bathroom window and
(11:46):
noticed that there was a handprint on the on the window.
Well I thought nothing of it. I thought it was just my
handprint, but when I put my hand up against it, the
handprint was a little bit longer than my than my hand.
And I thought, and I thought, huh, because I even asked my
roommates. I said did y'all kind of my
bathroom or trying to mess with me?
And they're like no. And so I put my handprint up
(12:06):
against it too, just to see if it would reoccur because I
thought, well, maybe my handprint came or I touched it
and it just somehow decided justto leave like an imprint from
the steam. So I put my handprint on there
and left it. I thought, OK, tomorrow the next
night I'm gonna look. And when I looked the next
night, the handprint and mine was there.
So I don't know what happened ifI just dragged my hand against
(12:28):
it. But then another time was just
happened either last night or not before I was sitting in my
bed and I have was wearing air pods and my air pods if you
click on the side, make the little click sound right.
I was sitting there and all of asudden it just clicked and my
fault, okay? And then I've I've heard weird
noises in here but I don't know if it's just the hippos that
(12:50):
live above me. That's Stump.
On the floor all. Day.
I don't know but. They're paranormal hippos.
It's like stomping on the floor every day.
And I, I didn't really believe in paranormal until I moved into
this apartment because I've heard noises and I'm just like,
OK, sure, all that. So kind of leading into the next
(13:11):
question, what would you say to skeptics who don't believe in
the paranormal? You know, I welcome those
questions and it's funny, I get asked this question every
interview and to me, I just it, it doesn't bother me.
You know, if you want to believe, open your mind and
believe. And, you know, everybody has
their opinions and theories and thoughts about what's going to
(13:31):
happen after this life. To me, there's got to be
something else because I can't be going through all of this and
having, you know, growing and all them, you know, the BS that
goes on with that just to die and be nothing.
So I, I like to take skeptics with me on on hunts and stuff
like that. And I tell them, keep your mind
(13:52):
closed. Go ahead, you know, say it's not
true. And 90% of the times that I've
taken people like that, the ghosts or the paranormal or the
entities always go after that person.
And you know, things happen to them where they won't happen to
me. They'll get touched, they'll get
pushed, they'll get scratched. And most of the times people
(14:12):
will come out, they'll they still don't believe, but they're
questioning. And to me that's good enough.
You know, if it's in your mind that why is this happening or
well, maybe there is something else, that's enough for me.
You know, I believe everybody should believe in what they want
to believe and be happy in themselves and what they think.
And if you don't believe what I believe, that's fine.
(14:34):
We can still go have a cup of coffee.
I've had those same experiences, like the two experiences I've
had, I still don't really believe in it, but you know,
I've started questioning. I'm like OK.
Sure. Well, these.
Questions. I was like, Huh?
Right. Well, I'll tell you what.
No, what it all those things probably happened because the
entities in the world or that are still floating around knew
(14:57):
you were going to be talking to us.
So it wanted to give you something to elaborate on that
and we'll come out to where you're at.
You're what in Alabama? Yes, Sir.
We'll come out and I'll find some ghost hunts and we'll take
you out and we'll scare the shitout of you.
That I can promise you. That's I was actually going to
ask, have y'all ever visited Alabama before?
(15:18):
I've driven through it and you know, but to stop and to do any
hunts I haven't I'm, I would really love to.
I know Don and I are talking about going to the Carolinas
here pretty soon, and I know there's a lot of paranormal
activity there. And, you know, I'll start
looking in Alabama today and I'll find some stuff and I'll
(15:40):
let you know when we're coming out and we'll bring you out with
us. And I bring an extra pair of
pants because we're going to make you shit yourself.
Lord y'all, my audience better be listening because I'll have a
story to tell. The only places I know and I
don't really. I don't study paranormal stuff a
lot. I've heard that there's a place
in Tuscaloosa. If y'all have ever heard there
(16:01):
or heard of that place, it's where the University of Alabama
is. Yes, there's somewhere there
that I've heard is haunted. Now I it's a broken down
building. I sound like a YouTube video of
it. Someone, it was in like a
compilation video I was watchingabout some weird mysterious
recordings and like abandoned places and they recorded
(16:26):
something there and it was like I think there's a random person
was there trying to scare the people that were raiding the
place, right? I've heard that's haunted.
Anywhere else I have not heard. I'm pretty sure there's probably
a a graveyard somewhere that's haunted.
You know, Noah, I can bet you right now being down there in,
in Alabama, down in the South, you could probably walk out your
(16:50):
door and maybe walk 500 feet andbe someplace that's got
paranormal activity because there's so much that has
happened down there over the years.
You know, especially with civil war and you know, the uprisings
and, and everything else, there's a lot of uncomfortable
spirits and a lot of unresting down there.
So it probably wouldn't take a whole lot.
(17:11):
You could probably walk into Walmart and go in the corner
with a R.E.M. pod and you know, you'd probably get some, some
activity there because there's just so much down South.
I've heard nothing but positive things about it and we're kind
of excited to come down that way.
Yeah, it's, it's spooky living here, just like living like
being with people. Spooky.
(17:31):
Sure. Well, yeah, hey, absolutely.
People can be spooky. I'm from a small farm town.
I'm not originally from Auburn. I live in Auburn now and I come
from a very small farm town withlike I think about 1000 people
and my just my designated area. And yeah, we live out in the
(17:51):
country where it's house here. And then there might be a
neighbor and about a mile down the road there be another
neighbor. And we just have open fields and
we have, it's a lot of wooded area here.
A lot of people think it's beautiful fields.
No, it's trees everywhere. It's I'm pretty sure there's
like national parks that are haunted here, abandoned
(18:12):
buildings here. I mean, there's probably
somewhere. Well, I'm sure there's a lot of
memorials from the Civil War time and from slavery and
everything that are down there that I bet you anything if you
go around there and you get an EMF meter or a R.E.M. pod or
something like that, you'll findactivity.
It's it's probably not difficult.
Even the little farm town you said you came from where the 711
(18:35):
and the post office is in the same building.
I bet you anything you can find a lot of stuff out there that
will spook you. Yeah, the workers probably would
give off something. Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
I'm trying to think of like places around my hometown that
would be haunted probably. Everyone, every place you can
think of has got ghost stories. It's whether they're small,
(18:56):
whether they're large, everybody's had, every place has
had death, every place has had people buried there.
So no matter where you go or what you're doing, whether you
believe it or not, they're spirits or entities around us.
And how you want to take that orbelieve in that, it's totally up
to you and open minded. But I've become a firm believer
over the years that, you know, they're they're, they're around
(19:20):
us and some of them want to be heard.
And that's why we do what we do,because they still have a story
to tell, especially if you look into what is it the, the
horrible and the horrible murders and the brutality and
stuff. I was listening to one of your
podcasts the other day where youhad that police officer from
Alaska on here and he said it perfectly.
(19:43):
You know, same answer I have that there's so many untold
stories that it's it's just crazy and they want to be heard
or they want their crime solved. And it's kept us definitely
busy, that's for sure. It's funny you said that cuz now
I'm probably thinking that I've probably cuz the cops that come
from my area are really bad. That's probably who's haunting
(20:04):
me now. It's the cops have shit talked
about so. There you go.
That's who's messing with me. It's the people from back home.
I knew it. Come back and.
Bought me the butt. To wrap things up.
I know earlier you had mentionedthat you are expanding your
searches, you're going overseas.I remember you said you were
(20:25):
going to Paris. Do you have any new hauntings or
collaborate collaborations that are coming up for the?
Podcast. Actually, we're supposed to go
to Portland the end of this month to go to the Shanghai
tunnels. And we were going, we're going
to meet with GAIL Wilson and herhusband that's up there.
We're going to collaborate with them.
(20:45):
They don't have a podcast or anything popular, but they live
up in that area and, and we knowthem very well.
And actually she's my sister. So yeah.
So it's, it's kind of convenient.
And then next month we are goingto Seattle.
We're going to do the Moore, what do you call it the, the
(21:06):
Moore theater. We're going to do that and we're
doing the, the underground Seattle cuz you know, Seattle
burnt down to the ground and they built over top of that.
So we're doing that as well. Then in August, we're doing the
Queen Mary over in Long Beach. That's going to coincide with A
Midsummer scream and Halloween horror convention that's in Long
(21:26):
Beach. We'll be there too.
So if any of your listeners are out there, please come out, say
hi to us. We'll give you some free swag or
anything else that we're doing. If anybody's listening and wants
to come along, you're more than welcome to In September, we're
going to Iowa and to the ValescaAxe Murder House, which we've
done an episode on that and we're pretty excited about.
(21:47):
And you know, there's, like I said, there's just so much going
on right now that and every timeI do an interview, we're we're
planning to do something else. Like right now in my mind, I
have, OK, we're going to see nowhere in Alabama.
We're going to go find something.
So expecting a message or an e-mail from me saying, hey,
we're coming to Alabama and thisis what we're doing.
(22:08):
Yeah, I'll definitely be open tomaybe coming along.
I don't know, I might have to get me a getaway car and have my
Uber waiting for me, but there you go.
For people that want to find youon social medias, what are some
of your website? And if you wanted to plug any of
your social medias, you're more than welcome.
(22:29):
To thank you right now we're everywhere we have I try to
direct everybody to our website because it has the most
information it's at creepycoffees.com.
Make sure you put the S at the end of coffee because some
people put creepy coffee and that's not us.
We're creepy coffees.com. We're on Instagram and facial
book with, you know, the same thing.
(22:51):
Creepy coffees. We're on podcasts on everywhere.
You can get podcasts from Spotify to Apple to I Heart to
Deezer. If you name it.
You can find us. Just Google creepy coffees and
you'll bump right into us. That or you may see us at your
local coffee house. That's awesome for what y'all
(23:11):
are doing and for my listeners, I will put all their links and
stuff in the description box below so that you can go back
and check them out at a later time if you choose to.
Eddie and Don, thank you so muchfor being on today and I'll be
expecting the e-mail and messagefrom you guys.
I'm probably doing ghost huntingand then as long as I get
Starbucks out of it I'll be happy.
(23:33):
There you go. We'll take you to Starbucks.
Well thank y'all so much. Thank you, Noah, it's been a
pleasure talking with you and thank you for inviting us on.
Thank you. So that was my conversation with
Eddie and Don. So apparently I have now gotten
signed up to go ghost hunting. So.
(23:53):
You can expect that to be in thenear future.
I'll be telling my ghost story about what I experienced from
them and I might have them back on to kind of tell their side of
the story so that we can have two stories going.
But I really wanted to thank them again for being on the show
today and having the conversation with us.
I had a great time with them. They had so much fun stories to
(24:14):
tell. To keep up with me and keep up
updates on the podcast, you morethan welcome to follow me on
social media. Yeah, on Instagram and tick tock
it is the Lethal Venom podcast, all lowercase and special
characters on there you can findupdates about when episodes are
released and some behind the scenes stuff as well of being
able to participate in the surveys, which of course we
(24:35):
didn't have 1 today. Maybe if we if I have them back
on for the next episode, maybe Ican get a survey and we could do
our first guest survey and have you guys submit some ghost
stories and heck, could actuallyhave them analyze it for you and
give them some advice and maybe that could be something we could
do. So we have to look out for that,
but it'd probably be a few months till that comes to E-mail
(24:55):
me if you have any ideas for podcast episodes.
If you have any questions about anything, if there's any
problems troubleshooting stuff that you want to let me know.
Lethal Venom, pot@gmail.com. Just make sure that you tell me
decipher what your emails about so I know exactly what you're
talking about. The podcast is available
(25:16):
wherever you get podcasts from. It's on Spotify, Apple Podcast,
iHeartRadio, Amazon Music, and as well as YouTube and Pandora

I feel like I hear birds. I don't know, it's like when I'm
recording, yes, it's like 9:00 at night and I hear Bert, what?
OK, we're just going to ignore it.
(25:39):
But as always, thank you so muchfor tuning in and participating
in the podcast. I'm so proud of how the podcast
is going. And again, thank you to Eddie
and Don for being on today. And as as I said and mentioned
earlier, all their information about their website and social
media will be in the descriptionbox.
And of course, if I forget anything that I forget in the
outro, it'll be in the description box as well.
(26:01):
You can also check out my link tree where you can find my other

solely about music and songs andalbums, as well as Southern
Reads, which is the book podcastwhere I talk about books and

want to check out or know someone that likes music or
books. You're more than welcome to
recommend that to them. As always, thank you so much for
(26:24):
listening. I have so many good episode

for those. Hope y'all have a great rest of
your day week, not whenever you're listening to it.
And I'll catch you all in the next episode of Lethal Venom.
