Today we are rewatching the pilot episode of Lost, we are sticking with only part 1, I know, it’s cruel, but in my defense that’s the way it originally aired!
If you’ve never seen Lost before, don’t worry this is the very first episode! You don’t have to know anything except for a few fun things we’re going to talk about before we jump into our opening scene.
Lost is a sci-fi drama series inspired by the movie Castaway told in a serialized manner. The cast is massive, with what I would consider to be around 12 main characters, that number fluctuates throughout seasons and as the story progresses of course. The show was created by JJ Abrams and Damon Lindelof and aired on ABC for six seasons. The series finale was one of the most watched at the time and was highly regarded as… upsetting.
Honestly, some people hate it, not as much as Game of Thrones Finale, but it’s up there. But, today we are just focusing on the pilot.
Quick synopsis if all you know is scary island, our pilot begins in the aftermath of a plane crash leaving the surviving passengers of Oceanic 815 on what seems to be an uninhabited tropical island.
