SPEAKER_00 (02:17):
Hello and welcome to
Let's Talk About It podcast.
I am your host, Apostle Rosemaryof RCN Ministries and OSGA
Apostolic Network, along with myhusband, Apostle Herving.
On today, we are following upwith the Unshaken series.
On last month, we dealt withfamily first, but God always
(02:38):
talked about it was concerningputting your family in order,
but without putting God second.
We talked about anchoring truth.
about Jesus being thefoundation.
Family is a ministry, not adistraction.
And we talked about thespiritual impacts, the household
(02:58):
health.
So our spiritual health impactswhat's going on in our house as
well, okay?
So on today, on episode five ofseason five, we're dealing with
discernment in a distractedworld.
The theme of this podcast forepisode five is learning to hear
God clearly when everything elseis loud.
(03:22):
So we're talking about just kindof to set the scene here in a
noisy, fast-paced, always onlineworld.
How do we discern God's voice?
And we're asking this question,why?
Because a key to this is why.
Not everything that's loud isfrom God.
(03:44):
We need to know exactly whatwe're listening to, who we're
listening to, who we'refollowing, who's praying over
us, who's praying for us, who'sspeaking into our lives.
We need to know these things.
We need to make sure that it'struly a man or a woman from God.
Amen.
(04:05):
So we're going to deal with alsoon today's podcast, what is
discernment and why do we needit?
So when we define discernment,we talk about the spiritual
sensitivity, and wisdom todistinguish God's truth from
deception.
The scripture to anchor this isProverbs chapter three and verse
(04:27):
five.
When it says, trust in and relyconfidently on the Lord with all
your heart and do not rely onyour own insights or
understandings and all yourways, know and acknowledge and
recognize him and he will makeyour path straight and smooth,
removing obstacles that blockyour way.
(04:48):
We're doing the amplifiedbecause we're breaking this down
to make sure everybody's goingto be able to receive what we're
talking about in scripture.
Usually I would do King Jamesand then break it down with
amplified.
I'm just going to go right intoamplified.
And that way we're just going toflow right through this.
Okay.
Alrighty.
So then we look at when we'retalking about that.
(05:12):
Remember, in all your ways, acknowledge him.
UNKNOWN (05:16):
Okay.
SPEAKER_00 (05:17):
We have to
understand there's a lot of
spiritual confusion, a lot ofcompeting voices, a lot of
things that are going onglobally that is not of God.
It's not sanctioned by God.
It's not ordained by God, butpeople are still doing it.
We have a lot of motivationalspeakers, more so Thank you.
(06:09):
Watch your gates, be mindful.
Also begin to understand theprinciple of distractions or the
key of distractions is to getyou off on your discernment, to
not be aware, to not be alert ofyour environment and the things
that are going on.
(06:30):
It literally blinds andimmobilizes you.
So when we talk about the modernday distractions, We talk about
the constant strolling on socialmedia, the comparison in
cultures, all of the busynessand overcommitment.
Distractions can mean, yes,being overcommitted.
(06:51):
What is it that you're doingthat so you can't make time for
the Lord?
You're always constantly busy.
You're always constantly going.
You're always constantly doingsomething, but you can't make
time for the Lord.
That is a distraction.
And so we have to learn toadjust accordingly.
So think about the times youalmost made a wrong decision
(07:15):
because of the pressure of thenoise around you.
We can allow ourselves to haveso many voices that it becomes
clutter and it becomesdeafening.
So we look at 1 Corinthians 14and 33, and it tells us, for
God, who is the source of theirprophesying, is not a man of
(07:36):
confusion and disorder, but ofpeace and order, as is the
practice in all churches of thesaints of God's people.
So people of God, we need tounderstand something.
This is the instructions thatthe Lord is setting for the
church And the people of God.
Amen.
(07:58):
So how to sharpen yourdiscernment.
I'm going to turn this over toApostle Herbie.
SPEAKER_01 (08:11):
Step two.
Greater clarity.
Silence the noise.
Turn down worldly input.
Social media.
Voices.
Voices.
internal chatters soak in theworld the bible is your filter
and guide submit to spirituallearn learn to wait and listen
(08:38):
before moving discernmentdiscernment often shows up in
silenceness not speed Killingthis, not speed.
SPEAKER_00 (08:58):
Okay, so Black
Apostle Herbie was just saying
the three steps to greaterclarity.
He told you one, was silence thenoise.
Two, soak in the word.
Three, submit to the spirit.
That means submission, totalsubmission.
That means understandingEzekiel, what was it?
What were we talking about?
(09:18):
Ezekiel 47?
When we talked about, yeah,Ezekiel 47 was a good equipping
session that we did because wehave to get to a point where we
are totally submerged in thethings of God, where we just, we
step out and we're to a point inEzekiel 47 where the water had
(09:40):
surpassed their head And theywere submerged so in the water
until it was where they couldnot any longer feel the body.
I'm paraphrasing here, trying togive you a visual.
So when you're ankle deep, thenyou're still able to move
freely.
You're still not committed, butyou've gotten your feet wet, so
(10:01):
to speak.
When you're knee deep, thatmeans you've trusted the Lord.
You've stepped out a little bitfurther.
And then the man with the linein the hand measures again a
thousand cubits and takes youout into the water further.
And it's the water that comes upto the loins.
So then it's above your waist.
So right then is where you getto the place where you're almost
(10:21):
there.
You submit it.
You're walking in obedience, butthen God says, I need you to
come out further.
I need you to go deeper in mythings.
I need you to sit in the silentplace.
I need you to silence the noisearound you.
I need you to soak in my word.
I need you to submit totally andfully to my spirit.
That's what God is saying inthis hour.
(10:41):
So to encourage each and one ofyou, you don't need to know
everything.
You just need to know when Godis speaking.
And the only way you're going todo that is to silence everything
around you.
The distractions must go.
So then you have to challengeyourself.
Choose one area just this week.
(11:02):
that you're willing to reducethe noise so you can hear
better.
So you're able to hear what Godis saying.
So you know what?
Say to yourself, you know what,Lord?
I know I've been distracted inthe last few weeks or months.
I know I haven't really givenyou the time that you really,
(11:23):
really require of me.
And Lord, I haven't beenfaithful over everything.
And I can't expect you to takecare of my house if I'm not
taking care of your house.
So, you know, charity, which isministry, it starts at home.
We need to get our own houses inorder.
There was a song years ago thatsaid, sweep around your own
(11:44):
front door before you try tosweep around mine.
So in other words, deal withhome first.
Deal with your house first.
Deal, if you're husbands, husbands, get your house in
order with your wives.
Wives, you have a husband, fallin line with your husband.
Come into unity and oneness withyour husband.
A divided house will not stand.
(12:07):
I've said this several times andI'm going to say it again.
Because we are one flesh, menand women of God, when we are
married, If I bleed, ApostleHerbie bleeds.
If Apostle Herbie bleeds, then Ibleed.
Why?
Because anything that tears hisflesh, tears my flesh because we
(12:28):
are one.
We may have to do a conferenceoff of that for married couples.
But we want you all tounderstand this.
If I say I, I mean we, becausewe're one.
But we need to understand thispeople of God.
The Lord cannot fully submergeyou into the deeper things until
(12:49):
we line up those things in ourlives.
We cannot pull and tug againstone another.
And you know what?
If you're doing everything youcan, if you're going as hard as
you can, if you're obeying Godas much, just being faithful
over a few things, the word ofGod says that he'll make you
rule over the plenty.
We need to learn to take thesteps to align ourselves with
(13:13):
the will of God.
When we are ministers of thegospel, the Lord holds us to a
higher accountability.
We need to understand this.
We cannot be wishy-washy.
We cannot be one way in churchand one way before people that
see us and may know us.
But at home, all hell isbreaking loose at home.
I can't say nothing to youbecause you about to bite my
(13:34):
head off, men and women.
Or at home, I'm cussing andlying and talking about people
and backbiting.
And then I wonder why my spouse, rather it be male or female,
that will not even come tochurch.
They don't want to hear nothingabout it.
I can't draw them.
I can't draw my family members.
I can't draw loved ones.
I can't draw people that knowme.
(13:56):
Why?
Because I'm living the same lifethey're living.
They don't see that I'm livinganything.
Why?
Because they see the evidence ofthe fruit.
So hear me what I say.
This discernment has got to be akey that you require and you
must have in this world, thisdistracted world.
(14:18):
Because what this episode'stitle is, discernment in a
distracted world.
We have to have it.
There's no way around it, peopleof God.
This is a must.
The spirit of discernment is amust.
Some people will say desertingof spirits.
We got to have it.
So we need to understand this.
Now, episode six, I'm going toturn it back over to Apostle
Herbie here in a minute.
(14:39):
But episode six, is going to betitled Faithful with the Little.
Here it is.
We just did a...
I scribed something.
I've been scribing so much.
I'm probably over 225 manualsand all of these for equipping
because we launched ourApostolic Architect Kingdom
Equipping.
It's a broader, more in-depth,more apt...
(15:03):
training and equipping globallyfor senior leaders, leaders and
emerging leaders.
It is out, it's RCN Ministriesthat everything comes out of our
main ministry, but it's underour apostolic network as well,
which is OSGA, which stands forOne Sound Global Alliance.
So we are all, we're doing a lotof things for the kingdom.
(15:24):
We're being obedient to the willof God and we're walking out the
mandate that God has given us.
When people say, ApostleRosemary, Apostle Herbie, how do
you guys do so much?
How do you do all of the thingsyou do?
And I tell people, and this isreally across my social medias
and our social medias, and Itell them one of the graphics
(15:46):
that we have up says, we don't,God does.
I think that's even in my bio.
We don't do it.
God does it.
And when we sit back and allowGod to do it, we'll give birth,
multiple births, one after theother.
But it's going to be productive.
It's going to be impactful.
It's going to be effectivebecause God is using it for a
tool to equip the nations.
(16:07):
So Here, I'm just going to dothis, Apostle.
Okay.
All right.
So we need to understand whenwe're talking about discernment
in a distracted world, justlearning to quiet the noise and
recognize God's direction.
I also did a scribe on findingyour way in transition, and that
(16:27):
has been very powerful, impactful for wonderful men and
women of God that have beenblessed to receive it.
I was led by the Lord who to sowthat into.
And so it's just been...
It's been powerful, theresponses and the testimonies
that the men and the women ofGod, that the Lord has had us to
sow that into that scribe that Ihad done for the kingdom.
(16:50):
They were blessed and they hadnothing but testimonies that
this is where they were.
And God gave clarity.
And with that scribe, it dealswith us either obedience or
obligation.
Which one is it?
So it helps to lay out thefoundation to find exactly what
is going on, where you're at andwhat you need God to clarify for
(17:12):
you.
So it's very powerful.
Yeah.
Finding your way in atransition.
So the key scriptures for todayis Proverbs chapter I want to
(17:32):
give you all this quote.
Discernment grows in stillness, not in scrolling.
That's powerful right there.
I'm about to put that up on mysocial.
Discernment grows in stillness, not in scrolling.
My God, that's powerful rightthere, Apostle.
And then you want to pick thisback up, the three clarity
(17:54):
steps.
SPEAKER_01 (17:54):
The three clarity
steps.
Silence the noise.
Soak in the word and submit tothe spirit.
Reflect and respond.
Where am I letting noiseoverride God's voice?
(18:19):
What is one distraction I canfast from this week to grow my
discernment?
SPEAKER_00 (18:27):
My Lord, that's
powerful, Apostle.
We're going to do a few Q&Ashere.
So first question is this.
What's the difference betweendiscernment and just making a
good decision?
The answer is this, people ofGod.
Well, discernment is not justlogic.
(18:48):
It's about spiritual insight.
Somebody need to catch that.
Discernment is not logic, peopleof God.
It's about spiritual insight.
A good decision may make senseon paper, but a good decision
aligns with his timing.
(19:10):
his peace and purpose.
So in other words, when you arefollowing the discernment of
God, it's going to align withthe will of God.
When you're making gooddecisions, it will be
orchestrated by God, not just onpaper, but then it's going to
align with God's will, with histiming, with his peace and with
(19:32):
his purpose.
So you're going to have peaceabout that in the midst of
everything else.
All right, the next one,Apostle, I'll let you grab that
one.
SPEAKER_01 (19:40):
How do I know if God
is speaking or if it's just my
own thoughts?
God's voice, God's voice willnever contradict his word.
It's often gentle, consistent, and bring peace.
(20:05):
Bring peace.
Your voice rushes his voiceaway.
reassures.
Test what you hear by his wordand by prayer.
SPEAKER_00 (20:17):
My God, that's
powerful, Apostle.
That's powerful right there.
Now that brings total clarity tothose who may really be
questioning.
If the Lord isn't me, am Ireally hearing your voice?
Do I know for sure that you'respeaking?
But the word of God tells us,you know, we can go to scripture
on that too, that my sheep knowmy voice and a stranger they
will not follow my Lord.
And so we need to understandthat.
(20:40):
When the Lord is really speakingto us, the Lord is gonna bring
clarity.
That's where the peace comes in.
You can find that in Johnchapter 10, verses 27 to 28.
And it deals with my sheep hearmy voice and I know them and
they follow me.
My God, 28 says, and I give untothem eternal life and they
(21:03):
shall, not might, not maybe, andthey shall, my God, never
perish, neither shall any manpluck them out of my hand.
That's powerful right there.
Now let's look at, that's theKing James translation.
Let's look at the Amplified.
Hold on, I got to switch it uphere, y'all.
(21:25):
I just turned, I just opened upmy Bible and pull this up to go
over this with y'all.
All right.
So the Amplified translation ofJohn 10 verses, chapter 10,
verse 27 to 28 is the verses.
Amplified, it says, the sheepthat are my own hear my voice
and listen to me.
Somebody better say amen.
(21:47):
I know them and they follow me,my God.
So there is clarity in theconfusion.
This is why God is instructingus to get rid of the
distractions so that we know weare hearing from God clearly.
That it's only his voice thatwe're hearing.
It's only his voice that we'relistening to.
It's only his voice that we'refollowing.
(22:09):
I'm going to get some help righthere.
28 says, and I give them eternallife and they will never ever by
any means perish and no one willever snatch them out of my hand.
My God, that's powerful rightthere.
That is powerful right there.
So in other words, we're likeJoe.
(22:29):
God got us hedged in.
He got us protected.
Nobody can take us.
I want to do one moretranslation and this is going to
come from the Amplified Classicedition, John 10, 27 to 28.
The sheep that are my own hearand are listening to my voice
and I know them and they followme.
28 says, and I give them eternallife and they shall never lose
(22:52):
it or perish throughout theages.
To all eternity, they shallnever by any means be destroyed.
Somebody that's powerful rightthere.
I can preach right there.
And no one is able to snatchthem out of my hand, my Lord.
I better put this down becauseI'm about to preach and I'm
trying to do a podcast.
Father, help me, Jesus.
Okay, we got two more questionshere and answers we're going to
(23:15):
talk to you guys about.
When you feel, when you get to aplace and you say, I feel
overwhelmed, how do I even startto discern better?
So this is the thing we have todo, people of God.
You've got to learn to sethealthy boundaries.
How do we do that?
Start by subtracting.
Pick one source of distractions.
(23:36):
If it's your social media orconstant news stations, take a
short break.
Take a break.
Let me be real and transparentwith you all.
I have not watched the news in10 years.
Somebody say amen.
I watch Clippets on YouTube.
with voices that have beenvetted for global news.
(23:59):
And I watch them that are notbiased, but they bring you the
raw, unfiltered truth.
I'm not falling down the rabbitholes with all this crazy stuff
and hatred and malice andmalicious and lawlessness.
We're not going down there.
We're gonna stick to Bible.
We're gonna keep our gatesclean.
We're gonna keep our gates pure.
We're gonna stay uncontaminated.
We're gonna stay unpolluted.
(24:21):
My God, help me.
And so you gotta learn to cutsome things out And right now,
I'm still struggling.
Y'all, I'm telling you, I'mstill struggling with social
media because I need to be moreactive.
I just started a TikTok a fewweeks ago.
I don't even think it's been amonth.
And I'm not active on there.
I've got, oh gosh, I got a lotof social media platforms.
But the sad thing about it, Ithink we got four or five, maybe
(24:45):
six different pages on Facebookand all these other social
medias.
But I just started TikTok,Instagram, all of these
different sites.
And so, The thing about it,people of God, is this.
I struggle with social mediabecause I don't want the
distraction.
I want all of my attention onthe things of God.
(25:05):
And so this is why it's hard forme to get back on social media.
But slowly and surely, I got tobecause the Lord says, if the
remnant does not stand now inthis hour, then they're going to
fall.
and get deceived by voices thatI have not vetted, by voices
that I have not consecrated, byvoices that are not of me, that
(25:27):
are not my sheep, but havestrayed in from other pastors.
Those wolves in sheep clothing.
This is why the remnant has torise up on social media, because
this is also a tool to use to beable to reach the body of
Christ.
And that's something that we do.
We use all seven mountains toget the word of God out and to
(25:48):
minister to the people globally.
So you'll be surprised how muchmore clearly you hear from God
when the volume of the world isturned down.
So you know what?
Kendrick Lamar did the SuperBowl party.
And our children were telling,we got four adult children, they
were telling us, and I gotnieces and nephews that were
talking about K-Dot, KendrickLamar.
(26:08):
And I'm like, who is this K-Dotand all of this?
My time, it was Tupac and otherpeople.
But Tupac was the main one thatreally came with a lot of
in-depth, different things thathe had scribed to or written to
be able to wrap on.
And it was dealing with societyand what was going on in the
world.
and things like that.
(26:28):
So in this generation for thepeople, they have Kendrick
Lamar, KDOT, very well knownglobally.
He was on and he did the SuperBowl.
That was Super Bowl, right baby?
And he did the halftime show andhe did, he was talking about it
and he was saying, they're notlike us.
And I thought about the remnant, but then what really got to me
when he said on there, turn theTVs off, turn the TVs off.
(26:51):
This is what we're talkingabout.
It's time to turn off thedistractions, people of God.
I said all that distraction saythis.
It's time to turn off thetelevisions.
It's time to get off of thesocial medias so much.
It's time to filter what youallow in your spirit because
whatever we receive in our eargates, in our eye gates, it
(27:13):
becomes tangible within us.
So we need to turn off thesedistractions.
And Apostle Herbie is going tofinish with this last question.
SPEAKER_01 (27:22):
Can discernment
really be developed?
Or is it a gift?
Both.
Some have a spiritual gift ofdiscernment, but all believers
can grow in its true practice, praise, and spending time with
(27:45):
God.
Discernment grows, and the moreyou walk closely with the
shepherd.
My God.
SPEAKER_00 (27:53):
Listen, people of
God.
I remember years ago, I wouldtell people I was preaching
probably 12, 12, 13, about 14years ago.
And I remember telling thepeople the Lord was dealing with
me and he was sifting somethings out of me in order to
(28:16):
make room for enlargementspiritually.
And I remember and what it was,a lot of times we've grown up in
the church like I did.
And I'm like fifth that I knowof.
And it's more than this, but atleast fifth generational
spiritual leader.
And so I was the one that ranfrom the church.
(28:38):
I didn't want anything to dowith it because I saw what it
did to so many family membersand my parents that came before
me.
My mom was very active.
My dad, my God, he was abiblical scholar.
But he ran from his call.
But the mantle did not fall tothe ground.
Thank you, Jesus.
But when it comes down to it, wehave to have discernment.
(29:02):
There's no way around it, peopleof God.
Because there are so many peoplethat are preaching that are
teaching and they have blood ontheir hands.
There are so many people thatare preaching, that are
teaching, that are leading, andthey have unforgiveness in their
heart.
They have hatred.
They have racism.
They're about division.
(29:24):
They are deceptive.
They are walking in a spirit ofvagabond, an orphan spirit.
They operate in lawlessness.
They are renegades.
We can go on and on.
And so it's so important, peopleof God, that you allow God to do
a work in you so he can do awork through you.
This is why we must havediscernment.
(29:46):
Discernment is key becausediscernment is needed in a
distracted world.
Now on this series, Unshaken, this is all of series five.
We're coming at you with someheavy stuff that's really going
to help you get through withthis season globally.
We thank God for all of thedownloads.

And even if it's not monetary,if you are praying, if you are
interceding for us globally, Wethank God for that.
We honor each and every one ofyou and the all of God that's
upon your lives.
(30:28):
But we need to understand thatwe have to stay close to the
fire.
What is the fire?
The fire is staying close toGod, being connected to the true
vine and allowing God tocomplete the work that he has
begun in each and every one ofus.
So we pray that on today, thishas blessed you.
(30:50):
This has given you strength tobe able to pick up, dust
yourself off, turn off thedistractions and to keep going.
Keep persevering.
Keep pushing forward.
Keep obeying God.
And remember, submit fully tothe things of God.
Connect yourselves with aspiritual leader, with a church,

(31:53):
Every one of these series arepowerful that we're talking on.
Well, topics for the series,Unshaken.

How small obedience leads to bigbreakthroughs.
