Welcome to another episode ofthe let's Think About it podcast

(01:20):
.
I'm your host, Coach Mo, andI'm here with another amazing
guest.
Her name is Rosemary Detrolio.
Rosemary.

Speaker 2 (01:31):
Hey, Mo.
Great to see you again, Mo.
It's always a pleasure.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
Great to see you.
One of the first things that Ido when people come on my show
is we need to check in whereyou're calling in from, where
are you?

Speaker 2 (01:47):
Hey, I am in Hope, new Jersey, in a tiny little
town, and I'm actually 11 milesfrom New York, and excuse me, 60
miles from New York and 11 fromthe Pennsylvania water gap.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
Nice.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
Yeah, yeah.
Born and raised in New Jersey.
No, I was actually 30 minutesoutside of New York City, in a
very small town where I grew upyears ago.
So yeah, small town girl, butlove the city vibe too.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
You ever come to the West Coast.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
I have never been to the West Coast.
We're thinking of doing somemore traveling now that my
husband is retired and our nexttrip is going to be Italy, so
we're excited about that.
Nice, other states, mostly onthe eastern seaboard.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
That's awesome.
That's awesome.
Tell my guests who you are, what you do.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
Okay, you got it.
So I'm a retired school teacher, 32 years in public education.
I left that in 2014.
That's when I retired and mybusiness has been in operation
for since 2000.
And actually before that, andmy main thing is I teach Reiki,

(02:59):
I do energy work.
My specialty is angelcommunication, guidance and
readings for people, but I alsohave I also do workshops in
person and on Zoom.
I do self-study courses thatare on my website and I love
these one to one conversationsthat I do with my clients to
help to guide them and open up,let's say, dormant gifts they

(03:22):
have or just find life's purposeor direction.
So that's the main thing thatI've been really loving to do.
And I'm also an author.
I have 10 published books onAmazon.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
That's awesome.
I heard readings.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
I want to dive into that really quick, because what
are some misconceptions aboutthe work that you do in reading?

Speaker 2 (03:48):
Right, okay.
So the first thing I would sayis that people will say, oh, are
you a psychic?
I have psychic abilities, butwhen I'm channeling angels, I am
actually connecting with thedivine force.
My angel and the person's angelare connecting and then I am
able to channel a message forthe person that asks me and the

(04:10):
there's always free will.
So for me, it's reallyimportant that a person
understands that, if somethingdoesn't seem to fit, to go back
to the reading and look at it atanother time and also take with
them anything that resonateswith them and feels true,
because that's the direction theangels want them to understand
first.
And therefore someone calls meand says I don't know if I

(04:32):
should leave my husband.
That's not what I do.
It's not up to me to tellsomeone what they're, what
they're, what they should do inthat realm.
It is the guidance that theyget from the angels, is always
for their highest good andinvolves a lot of free will from
the person to decide whetherthat information is going to be
acted on or if they're going towait on it.

(04:54):
And that's where free will isso important.
Someone should not giveeverything away to a reader,
this or that Some of my clientstell me oh, I've been to like
eight readers and I have a tarotcard reader and a this reader
and a that reader, and to methat's a red flag, cause I would
say, if you're gettinginformation and you're following
it and you're learning how touse your intuition and your

(05:15):
inner guidance, you will notneed 98 different people to run
around to to tell you what to do.
You've got to use your innerguidance and your connection
with your angels and God andyour guides to help you, and
that's one of the things that Iwant people to know.
I teach them to fish.
I don't give them the fish.
So it's part of my plan is tohelp people grow spiritually so

(05:37):
that they can evolve and then dowhat I'm doing for them but do
for themselves, and that'sreally important to me.

Speaker 1 (05:44):
Okay, because something that really sticks out
to me.
You said free will andintuition right, absolutely.
I feel that I'm a veryintuitive type person.
I'm self aware about myfeelings and my spirit in
certain moments.
Why would a person need to seea reader like yourself if they

(06:07):
already feel that they're veryintuitive?

Speaker 2 (06:10):
Sometimes it's just to trust their guidance, because
oftentimes when I do a readingand someone like you is very
intuitive, they'll say, oh mygosh, I knew that I was guided,
like last week.
And now it's showing up in thereading like you're telling me
what I know.
I'm like well, that's good,because that means you've been
listening to your inner guidance.
The other times that peoplewould come to me is if they've

(06:32):
have a difficult relationshiphappening and they keep hitting
a wall and they're not surewhat's going on.
Sometimes there's past lifekarma between two people.
Our souls have been with eachother.
Before.
It might've been a family groupissue.
It may be something else theyneed to clear and they can't see
it and sometimes they're likeoh, that's why I'm having

(06:55):
trouble with my brother-in-law,my husband, whatever it's this
issue that we didn't clear fromthe past and I've had that
happen with quite a few readingsthat I've done and after you
went after, they understand it.
It it's oh, then I can let itgo.
That was the past and now thisis now.
So I don't have to have thatweird feeling about so and it
helps people to understand.

Speaker 1 (07:12):
I consider myself an energy leadership coach and what
that means is when you're insurround self awareness and when
you're feeling like thefrustration, when you're feeling
like the frustration, theworries, the doubt, anxiety,
depression when you're in thatrealm of feeling that emotion,

(07:32):
your energy is typically down.

Speaker 2 (07:35):
Absolutely.

Speaker 1 (07:36):
Yes, yes, and I always say that you're
distracted.

Speaker 2 (07:40):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (07:40):
You're distracted.

Speaker 2 (07:42):
Yeah, static energy, yeah, yes, yeah, static energy,
yeah.
One of the things that you justreminded me about is when
someone is in those lowvibration energy fields, it's
almost like they're walkingaround with glasses that are
dirty and whatever they look atis colored by this perception of
I'm not good enough, no oneloves me, I'm sad, I'm not
worthy.

(08:02):
God is not here.
How come I went through this?
Why me and all those energiesare low vibration energies to a
person that doesn't have thatfaith and understanding that all
these things happen so you canlearn from them, and they don't
happen to you.
They happen for you.
So it's understanding thatwhatever you go through is for
your spiritual growth and foryour help.

(08:23):
It's not to beat you up or topunish you.
It is because you're supposedto learn from these things that
we haven't learned from, maybein the past, of our soul's
energy.
So it's really teaching peoplethat these things, if you like,
rewrite the story for yourself.
That's a really powerful thingto do, instead of saying, oh, my
husband was so mean he divorcedme.

(08:43):
It's.
What did you learn from yourindependence from the situation?
How did you take that gift andlearn from it, instead of
letting it drag you down.
Don't let that take up realestate for the rest of your life
in your brain.
You want to clear the way soyou can move ahead, and that's
really the guidance right.

Speaker 1 (09:01):
And the point of that too right While you're dealing
with that pain that's thedistraction, because you're,
you're, you're still in it,coughed in the pain.
Yes, it takes theself-awareness to take a step
back to say absolutely what am Ilearning from this situation to
help forward you out of thatenergy set?

Speaker 2 (09:25):
Absolutely yeah, and I think it doesn't mean that
your grief is lesser, that youshouldn't feel that sadness.
We all lose people.
We all go through trauma inlife and part of it is feeling
it deeply but then setting itaside and understanding the
lesson in it.
Like I remember when I lost mymom, when my dad passed, I was
really close to him and it waslike so traumatic because I love

(09:46):
my father dearly.
But what I do is I always thinkof the gifts he gave me.
He had great laughter, he washysterical, he would loved
everybody and to me that I washonored by his presence and I
was also honored to be able tohelp him at his hour of death.
And to me that was the gift, even though I miss him terribly
in the physical form.

(10:06):
You have to find the gift ofwhatever you go through to be
able to move forward.
So that's like the same messagethat you give your clients.
I know what's in it.

Speaker 1 (10:16):
I think this is just a powerful conversation.
How do you like when someonecomes to you right, and or maybe
they don't even come to you,but they're skeptical about the
work that you do?

Speaker 2 (10:29):
Oh yeah, love the skeptics, I love the skeptics.

Speaker 1 (10:32):
Take me through.
How do you work through thatprocess?

Speaker 2 (10:35):
Here's the thing.
So I had a client come to me acouple of years ago and he was a
teacher in my school and I knewthe guy was very well respected
.
And he comes in and he goes I'monly here for Reiki session
with you because my spine doctortold me to go to you.
Now, I knew his spine doctorbecause I trained him with Reiki
, although we didn't use it inhis practice.
So I said, oh okay.
I said just relax and lay down.

(10:56):
You don't have to do anything, just lay there.
You don't have to believeanything, just relax.
So by the time I got to hisknees he opens his eyes.
He looks at me and goes whatdid you just do to me?
I'm like what do you mean?
He says I felt this rush ofenergy from the top of my head
all the way through my feet.
He says, and I'm amazed, whatare you doing to me?
I said I'm just letting the ofthis Reiki work on your body.

(11:18):
After that he booked threesessions and he wrote me a huge
apology note about how he was askeptic before he met me.
So I thought that was supercool.
So I always say the proof's inthe pudding.
The other thing is that skepticskeep people honest, like it's
okay to be skeptical, because Ialways tell people if you never
tasted chocolate, how does thatperson know what chocolate

(11:39):
tastes like?
Until they have a taste of it.
Hold back and just see what youthink you know.
I would say start with a class, start with a workshop, start
with a session, do somethingthat that is like tipping your
toe in to see what you feel andwhat you experience.
And if you have a goodexperience, then continue.
But use your gut, because somepeople will tell me oh, I went

(12:00):
to this person and I got areally bad feeling but I didn't
trust it and then I was verydisappointed.
I said you know what?
Use your gut, use yourintuition.
If it feels like it's a goodstep forward, then continue.

Speaker 1 (12:12):
I remember someone had reached out to me.
I always be posting likeeducational things on LinkedIn
and stuff like that.
But someone had reached out tome and said, mo, how do you per
se, when you feel the innercritic, the doubt, how do you
navigate to that desired statethat you always talk about?

(12:35):
And I was like man, that's agreat question.
It's a great question.
It is a great question, buthere's what I do.
This is what Mo do.
In that moment of doubt, I havethe awareness to know that my
values is being distracted.
That's really good yeahabsolutely, and let's just say I

(12:56):
have to make a decision andintegrity is one of my.
Me too one of my high valuesthat I lean on me too in that
moment of doubt, if integrity isvery important to me, I remind
myself what's really the rightthing to do in this.

(13:18):
Yeah, that's right, and that,naturally.

Speaker 2 (13:21):
Yeah, me away from the doubt or out of the doubt,
that's, that's awesome, and I'mmore in a confident state of
being just yes, I'll tell you, when I was in that same scared
moment is when I startedchanneling the angel realm and I
I started letting people knowabout it and then someone came

(13:43):
to me.
He says can you do a readingfor me and believe me?
Like, for that moment I'm, likeI don't know, I don't know, oh
my gosh, oh my gosh.
And what the angels told me iswe don't really care about your
ego and what you think otherpeople will think of you.
We want you to be themouthpiece for our words.
And I went, oh, okay, cool.
And then after that I wasn'tscared because I knew that if I

(14:04):
had complete trust andsurrendered, I can do my
business, I could do what I haveto do, and the right things
will happen and the right peoplewill come to me, and if it's
not the right people, they'renot going to show up.
So I just really believe, whenyou're in alignment, you are
aligned with the people andplaces that are going to either

(14:25):
teach you a lesson or you'regoing to help that person move
forward in some way.
And that's really what Ibelieve and it happens.
I love attraction, man.
That's good stuff, very strong.

Speaker 1 (14:35):
It is and one of the other things that I share with
clients around coaching andprobably in your practice when
you're doing readings.
It's like we're a tool.
We provide gifts for people toutilize our work as a tool so
that they can get out of theirown way by any means.
you come to a few sessions, youwork with me for whatever, you

(14:57):
still are going to experiencecertain doubts, certain
uncomfortable situations.
It's up to you to have theawareness to implement the tools
and the resources that youobtain from coaching to
implement when those situationscome forth again in the future.
That's right.

(15:18):
Yeah, that's.
The powerful thing about thework that we do is that we're
providing these resources andtools, and everybody is
different in how they take thisinformation in from us, but it's
the experience of going throughthat with us that creates your

(15:39):
path in the future, because youwill have that ability, moving
forward, to tap into thatexperience.

Speaker 2 (15:45):
Yes, and I believe that it's the action.
So people can read everythingand know it up here, but unless
they put it into action, then itjust remains an idea.
So any idea that's notprocessed through becomes just
an idea.
So again, I know both of usgive our clients tools to use,
and then what's really good issometimes somebody knows

(16:06):
something and they're just notsure how to implement it.
So we see something like in adifferent angle that can shift
them into a different realm ofthinking.
And I've done this too with notonly the sessions I do, but
through workshops and classes.
Like people say, I knew it, butI didn't know how to ask.
I didn't know where that wouldcome, that information would
shift me or how.

(16:26):
The other thing is I've had alot of people tell me oh my gosh
, where were you 30 years agowhen I was a kid and I couldn't
ask about this stuff?
I don't know, I was probablystill figuring out myself, but
it's good.
It's good that there's peoplethat do what we do to help
people shift, and I think that'sreally vital and important
right now.

Speaker 1 (16:44):
Mary, take me through the discovery process for you,
when you realized that this wasa gift and what was that shift
to go down this road?

Speaker 2 (16:55):
So when I was four, when I was like two and a half
years old, I remember that thekitchen table was above my head
and my mother was talking to meand I'm looking at her like why
are you talking to me like achild?
Clearly I'm an adult.
And then I looked down at mylittle body and I went oh, I'm
back again.
So I, like really young and Iwas raised Roman Catholic, by
the way, but really young I knewI was recycled in to do

(17:18):
something and people wouldalways come to me for advice.
Even when I was like seven oreight years old, I'd have people
sit down and ask me stuff.
And as I went through life, thischanneling happened.
I took I have a master's ineducation, so one of the last
classes I took for my educationwas called stress management for
kids, and I remember going intothis really quiet state because

(17:40):
we were told we couldn't talkto anybody.
We're supposed to be silent forthe next two hours and walk
around campus.
I started seeing auras andenergy fields around people.
So that's the night.
I went home and I prayed and Isaid, god, I'm supposed to be
doing something else.
I'm not sure what it is.
And then, all of a sudden I gotthe angel that stepped in and
gave me my first reading back in1993.

(18:03):
And that was pretty cool.
And then I knew like, all right,I know what I have to do.
I'm not sure how I'm gettingthere, but I'm just going to
keep taking steps to figure outmy business.
And I had no idea, I justjumped right in.
I got my business name back in93.
I learned Ray key, which isenergy work, and I set up that

(18:23):
and I just kept going forwardand I kept expanding and
expanding.
And during COVID is when Istarted doing like my, my zoom
things, and I expanded, doingthings online rather than just
in person.
So it kept being like arevolving door kept going bigger
and bigger to to encompass moreof what I thought people needed
and what I was guided to tellthem.
So that's how it started.

(18:44):
I'm glad I answered you, but along time ago it started as what
I would tell you.

Speaker 1 (18:48):
Yeah yeah, that's great, that's awesome.
You also, when you first cameon, you mentioned a book.
Tell us a little bit about yourbook.

Speaker 2 (18:56):
Okay, I have a lot of books out there, so my
spiritual ones are divineMessengers, inspired a Book from
the Heart, and Wisdom Sages andAngels.
The last two are workbooks.
I have a fairy tale called theHermit of Laramie.
For adults, I have three middlegrade fiction books and I have
three primary picture textbooksand I'm working on other ones as

(19:19):
well.
All my books are on Amazon.
They're also listed on mywebsite, rosemarydcom in grow
your spirit books, which is myside-by-side you know thing.
So I do some school visits andsuch and love that too.
Love working with the kids.

Speaker 1 (19:35):
So many books, a lot of words but okay, you just
named off a lot of books, right?

Speaker 2 (19:41):
I did.

Speaker 1 (19:42):
Which is great Outstanding.

Speaker 2 (19:44):
Which one do you want to know?

Speaker 1 (19:46):
about Great job.
Really appreciate that.
But you got my audience.
We got some listeners as.
Yeah, this is cool, but I'm notsure what's that?
One book that just gives themsome basic insights of energy,
spirits and things like that.

Speaker 2 (20:06):
I would start with Divine Messengers, because that
tells people about my path andpurpose and how I revolve
through the angels and Reiki.
Knowing the weird stuff thathappened to me, people will feel
more comfortable with the stuffthat they go through.
And then, after that, I wouldgo to my workbooks, my spiritual

(20:28):
workbooks, because they canread a little something and
write their own thoughts, whichis a very good way to nail down
your thought process and yourmetacognition about what you've
just been through.
So I would start with divinemessengers and then I would
click on the next spiritual book, which is the workbook, and
then the next one after that ifthey find it helpful to them.

Speaker 1 (20:46):
If I'm a potential client, what do I look like
coming to you?
Who is that?

Speaker 2 (20:52):
Okay, so I have different people.
A lot of the women in my groupare probably between the ages of
30 and 65.
Some men will come in, butusually after their wives have
been seeing me for other things, they'll bring their husbands
and then I'll do a reading forthe husband or Reiki, but it's
mainly women only.
Because women are, I think, aremore open sometimes for help

(21:15):
than maybe men would be, butthen the men start coming in.
So that would be typical.
My typical person is eitherseeking direction or they're on
a spiritual path already andneed more guidance.
I have different age groups andneeds.

Speaker 1 (21:31):
And are the readings done virtually or in person?

Speaker 2 (21:35):
If it is a transformational talk session,
that is a talk session on Zoom, and it's not written.
If it is an angel reading, aspecific angel reading, it takes
me two weeks to channel andit's usually seven or eight
pages long of channeledinformation specific to the
person's questions and what theyneed.
When it's done, then I Zoomwith them and then I send them

(21:58):
the written communication.

Speaker 1 (21:59):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (22:00):
Did that explain it, and that's on Zoom.
Unless they're really localthen I could be in person, but
most times those are on Zoom.

Speaker 1 (22:07):
Okay when you are working with a client.
Are you working with yourclients through your books that
are published on Amazon, in theworkbooks, or is it something
totally separate?

Speaker 2 (22:20):
I sell the books in my office and if I do a talk in
public I'll bring the books.
I sell them there as well.
But the main way people find meis usually just searching.
They'll search local people inmy area.
They might search Reiki orreadings or angels, so there's
many ways that they will find meand my things.
If you Google my name, you'regoing to see a lot of things pop

(22:43):
up, because I've been writingfor blogs and I've been on a lot
of podcasts and I've been onradio.
So they'll find my namesomewhere if they Google me,
which is really nice.

Speaker 1 (22:54):
Yeah, you also have a podcast and a show, right.

Speaker 2 (22:58):
I do.
Tuesday morning, 10 Eastern, the Light Walker's Path Grow
your Spirit with Rosemary, airson Bold Brave TV, and then it
also goes to other streamingplatforms after that, and what I
usually do is I take thepodcast and I also put it on my
own website, so that way, ifthey need to find it quickly and

(23:19):
they want to see a guest I hadalready they can look around and
click and see it for my websitetoo.

Speaker 1 (23:25):
Okay, okay.
What are some lasting thoughtsthat you would like to share
about?

Speaker 2 (23:30):
So I would tell people to don't focus on the
negative.
Turn off that news.
You can read headlines.
I know there's weird stuffgoing on.
You could read the headlines, but don't let whatever happens
in the world drag you downpersonally, because we only have
control over our own emotionsand our immediate environment.
You know that and the peoplethat are in it.

(23:50):
So if you can keep yourselfuplifted and be a positive
source of light to other people, then they can do that for
people in their close circle.
And then it continues.
We spread it, keep positive andsay prayer.
I always talk to God everymorning.
Hey, you help me out.
Right, I review, like, how Idid my day.

(24:11):
What did I act in completeintegrity?
Did I hurt anyone's feelings?
And I go through the wholething because I have to be in
good alignment to be able tohelp other people with their
alignment.

Speaker 1 (24:22):
so you said prayer and I know we're about to close,
but yeah, you just triggeredsomething okay that's just like
certain situations it's reallytough, it's really hard and then
go into prayer without yeah, Iwould say what's your take on
that?

Speaker 2 (24:41):
yeah, and a lot of people do have doubt, and
sometimes it's because of ofsecular religion and the way
they were raised with fearrelated to their faith.
I would just say I talk to godas if god is my friend, because
I believe that this energy ofGod is in everything and that we
are guided.
So when I talk I might say hey, god, I need some assistance

(25:01):
here.
Send me your angels.
If you want a traditionalprayer, then you can go back to
our father, hail Mary, whateverprayer that is in someone's
faith.
But I've worked with people fromall different backgrounds, even
ones that told me they wereatheists I've done readings for
and they didn't stay atheist toolong after I read for them,
which is good.

(25:21):
But I just think whateverresonates with you, it doesn't
have to be a traditional prayer.
If that doesn't feel right fora person, it could just say
higher power, the creator, allthat is.
Whatever you see, your God, asis what we have in us that's
called our soul.
So we're all connected.
We're all connected to eachother and to this great light.

Speaker 1 (25:41):
That's that's so and then, lastly, you, you meet I'm
assuming that you meet a lot ofdifferent people.
Yes, whether they come on yourshow, you go on their networking
.
Are you able to read certainenergies with people as you
initially meet them?

Speaker 2 (26:01):
Yes, usually the people that have been on my show
.
I usually meet them beforehandand I know their vibe.
There's a few of them I haven'tmet with and said I want to be
on your show and that's fine, but most of the people I have on
have a really good, positive, like energy vibe about them.
It's the same way that I readpeople when I'm in public.

(26:21):
If someone comes up to me, Ican feel their energy or their
hesitancy and it's just anatural ability that we all have
and I had it really young andit's it served me quite well
really.

Speaker 1 (26:34):
Okay, so final.
I promise it's the finalquestion what was my energy like
when you first met me?

Speaker 2 (26:42):
It's.
It's very loving.
You have a very kind heart andwhat I was going to tell you is
when I first met you, I think Isaw either pink or blue around
you.
So you had communication andyou have a very kind and loving
heart and I felt it.
When I met you, I was like, oh,I love this guy.
He's cool, you have a very kind, accepting way about you.
So, yeah, there you go.
