Lewis Black's Rantcast

Lewis Black's Rantcast

Lewis Black has some things to get off his chest! With his weekly podcast "Lewis Black’s Rantcast," the Grammy-winning comedian does just that. Channeling his anger in ways only a man who’s devoted his entire life to ranting can do. The tirades are sometimes big, other times small, yet they are always fun-spirited and truly hilarious. No topic is safe from Black’s trademark style of comedic yelling and animated finger-pointing. Skewering anything and anyone that gets under his skin. On the "Rantcast," Black isn’t the only person getting things off his chest, each week Lewis allows fans to submit their gripes so he can commiserate in their frustrations. Black’s long career includes movie roles in Accepted, the voice of Anger in the Pixar’s "Inside Out," and is currently the longest-running correspondent on Comedy Central’s "The Daily Show." It’s a double meaning title this week. First off Lewis will be on The Daily Show on December 12th and is loving how this current regime over there is coalescing under the second run by Jon Stewart. But because each day, the world seems to be a new daily dose of performative wildness. Files aside, Lewis is taking his annual trip out of the country for Thanksgiving. This year he has plans to travel to Morocco and he runs it all down. So, have yourself a great holiday and enjoy the rants. For advertising opportunities...

The government is shutdown but meanwhile the Ice Raids continue. We're approaching 40 days and there's plenty of blame going around, meanwhile there's lawsuits about people's SNAP benefits. Is there no money? Not sure because meanwhile a $300M ballroom is being built and Elon Musk is making trillions. Boats are being blown up with no signs of oversight, meanwhile the president wants to name a new stadium after himself. You are not ...

The title says it all. The vast food insecurity that the children in our country is flat out appalling. And while we’re in the middle of a government shutdown, the debate over whether to continue to support SNAP benefits should not be an issue at all. Lewis makes it very clear where he stands on the issue and the rage is enough to make him want to leap out of his seat. When are the adults going to enter the conversation?   This ...

Lewis is here to recap the final shows on his farewell tour which happened last weekend in Pennsylvania. Capping decades of the road and a very accomplished comedy career. While Lewis will still perform the art of stand-up, it will just not be as often on the road as it once was, it’s not the end of the story, just a new chapter so we get some reflection on a life on the road. The rants come to us from Lewis’ penultimate stop in Ea...

The title says it all. The news cycle of nonsense keeps coming at us that even taking a week of from things makes it nearly impossible to keep up with the news cycle. Lewis is back from North Carolina where he was given an award and this past weekend he wrapped his final shows of his final tour. Will you still be able to see Lewis live? Yes. But the frequency of his time on the road will decrease. But don’t you worry, his plan is t...

Lewis is down in North Carolina but just because he’s not sitting in his public access studio right now doesn’t mean the ridiculousness took a break. Our president decided to give a speech to our military industrial complex. Oh, and he brought along a hedgehog for his opening act. Seems redundant to continue to ask where the adults are in the room but we did see the adults and they were our military leaders who traveled from afar a...

This week Lewis reflects on Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement. Discussing his own personal journey in the Jewish faith. He reads a powerful essay he wrote about how he first was introduced to it, obsessive thoughts about sin and forgiveness he derived from it, when he left it, and his current relationship with it. We’re back for another week of the great question to be asked, and that’s “where are the adults in the room?” From wild antics at the UN, border patrol bribes, frivolous lawsuits, and the unfortunate reality of more mass shootings. It’s just another week of pure lack of proper governance and Lewis distills those frustrations many of us have right now. But if we want a silver lining to the week, the rants are coming to us live from ...

This week Lewis discusses the recent congressional hearings involving Kash Patel and his  unsettling demeanor and lack of respect during questioning at the Congressional Hearings. But that’s not all that’s in the news as the recent dismissal of Jimmy Kimmel raises eyebrows for Lewis. Particularly since he’s a comedian himself and constant advocate for the ability to speak one’s mind. A disturbing trend we’re seeing too much of in s...

Lewis takes a hard look at the idea of this past week’s events actually being a turning point in the US. Mostly because he feels it’s been said before. Inflammatory rhetoric that seems to do nothing but prove we need more adults in the room at a time of crisis. Buckle up because there seems to be nobody with a strong hand on the wheel. Yes, the political landscape is a combo platter of ineffectiveness and it seems to be seeping in ...

Well, this was a week where a lot of the checks and balances seemed to disappear before our eyes. It’s time to celebrate our nation’s independence. But are we in a renaissance of military spectacular-ness? The Boss seems to think so. Because our recent non-congress approved exercise in Iran would have you to believe that all the Middle East’s issues were solved in just a day or two. It’s worth of giving the Boss a Nobel Peace Prize, right? National intelligence saying otherwise have something different to say. But Lewis is pas...

Well, this past week was event-filled. Absolutely insane events like The Boss’ birthday parade thinly veiled as a celebration of America’s military. While that event appeared to be a dud, it still positioned our military personnel as Toy Soldiers. If that wasn’t enough to infuriate you Toy Soldiers were also being utilized in LA to settle non-existent unrest. Almost enough nonsense to forget that totally normal things like Father’s...
