Speaker 1 (00:09):
Every day brings a new story. The life isn't perfect,
but it's perfectly ours, with raw conversations, inspiring stories and
laugh until you cry moments we hit them. I unpack
it all and figure it out together, one episode at
a time. This is Life as we know it, Unfiltered
with Tony Tanalia and Lisa Cameron.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
In our last episode, we heard what Lisa's been up to. Well,
now it's time to find out what I've been up to. Yeah,
so that's where I'm at the moment. Hey, what about you?
What has been going on for you? I'm tired? I'm
why tired? Oh man? So basically, what's happened to me

(00:52):
is I do twelve to three pm on gold Winer
four point three. Yep. So if you're not in Melbourne
and you're listening to this podcast right now, you can
listen to us on iHeartRadio. There's a plug. But what's
happened now is my show broadcasts into Sydney as well,
So I'm also on Gold one oh one point seven.
Now it's not just me, obviously, that's a change they've

(01:14):
done within the two stations. So they've made some changes.
So the guy who was on after me he go,
He's now on before me, and then there's a guy
in Sydney named Steve, and Steve is doing the drive show,
so it goes he go, Me and then Steve, and
then the breakfast shows are still the same in both markets.
So we started doing that just before Easter, I think

(01:36):
it was it was it just after Easter. Maybe it
was just after Easter. And like it's busy. I mean
I'm always busy on air anyway, because I take a
lot of calls and do a lot of editing and
put calls to air, but now because I'm trying to
do breaks for separate markets, like I just don't have

(01:57):
time to do anything else. And I've to the point
where I'm running down this clock, going, Man, that's got
to get in or there's nothing going to air, you know.
So it's just fall and busy. So that means that
my work hours have also extended. So I still get
in at about eleven o'clock in the morning and get
as much done before I go on air, and I

(02:20):
try to do as many split breaks as I can
so that you know it's specific to each market. I
do roughly four breaks an hour, but I can't do
every one of those breaks separate John Maine, because then
it's eight breaks an hour that I'm doing. Oh say
the voice as well's I can't talk at the end. So,

(02:45):
like I said, I try to do as many split
breaks as I can so that at least I'm specific
to each market. And then what I do when I
finish at three. I used to be able to leave
by three thirty, four to four. I'm still at the
station at like four point thirty five o'clock. Some lights
it's five thirty or six. And usually those nights are
later in the week because then I've also got a

(03:05):
weekend shift that i have to do, which I never
had to do before. My god, so our workloads increased.
But having said that, I'm loving the challenge, are you?
Oh my god? Yeah, And I'm loving sounds so weird
saying this. I'm loving the race against the clock. It's like, Okay,
who's gonna win here, me or the clock, you know,

(03:28):
And I've always won because I'm not going to let
that clock beat me. But I've enjoyed that side of
things as well. Yeah. But the funny thing is, and
I said this to my boss the other day, I said,
if we hadn't done this six months ago, So it
would have been fucked, I said, because the brain fog
from the menopause and everything in the anxiety, I said,
I said, I would have been freaking out, I said,

(03:50):
But now, because I'm on the other side of menopause. Yeah, actually,
I don't even know if we've spoken about that. Maybe
we have, who knows.

Speaker 3 (03:57):
You know, we did that little talk with the the
moisturizer and moisturizing. Yes, right, and you're talking about after
Jason seeing mentioning about his wife's right coming out the
other side, and you're like, yeah.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
That gave me hope. Yes, seriously gave me hope. But
but having like I said, so for me, had we
been doing if we started doing this six months ago, oh,
I mean, there's no way I would have been up
to cope. Well, you know, I would have been so
stressed about it. But now, because I have no brain
fog and I'm alert, and I don't feel like I'm
going to get tomnsia because that's what I felt for
a long time, I feel like I'm back and I'm like,

(04:32):
bring that challenge on because I'm gonna, you know, I'm
gonna win it. Every time.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
You know what, you're just saying that you see the
things that women go through. And I don't mean to
this is not putting men down or anything like that,
but they're literally they're the sun, yes up and down.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
Yeah, the women of the moon.

Speaker 3 (04:50):
Yeah, we go through all these different cycles and then
going through mental pause and having all these symptoms and
then still being expected to work and function as normal,
and we're just not.

Speaker 2 (05:01):
Telling anybody about it either. I didn't speak a lot
about the brain fog and not feeling focused because the
last thing I wanted was and especially in a workplace
that can be volatile. And I'm not saying my bosses
would have turned around and gone now if I could
get her out of here, she's got no brains. It's
not like that, But do you know what I mean? Like,
it's not something that you want to bring up at
the workplace because you don't want to be judged for

(05:25):
it and you don't want people thinking you can't do
your job exactly. So for a long time, like I
spoke about it on and off, and we spoke about
it a bit in the podcast. Yeah it's okay because
the boss doesn't listen to the podcast, so we're fine,
but do you know what I mean, Like, it's not
something that I would be sitting in the office with
my workmates going, oh yeah, man, I can't say straight today.
I can't think straight today. I can't you know what

(05:46):
I mean? Because you don't want to be judged for that.

Speaker 3 (05:49):
So this is I mean, this is a whole other
podcast in itself, isn't it, because this is what women
are going through. Yeah, And I mean we're seeing more
and more like so prettyus and all that coming out
and talking about menopause. But the struggle is real. It
is you know, how do I keep my job? How
I keep up at that level?

Speaker 2 (06:08):
Yep? I mean I've had brain.

Speaker 3 (06:11):
Fog for probably about six or seven months now, maybe
even more. And I've spoken to some friends and they're
the same as well, just trying to get words out now. Yeah,
sometimes it's real.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
The funny thing with this is like I've got to
my two best friends. They're like younger than me. One
of them has just had a fiftieth right, and I'm
fifty eight this year, so there's eight years between us.
And then there's my So that's my friend Lindsay, and
then there's my friend Carla, who there's six years between us,
so they're more Carla than Lindsay right now. But Carla's
now going through all the menopause stuff and bringing up

(06:47):
all this stuff that's happening to her. And I'm like, yep,
been they've done that. Yep, they've done that. Yep, They've
done that. You like, So I can see what they're
going through now and the brain fog, you know, and
not like you said, not being able to get the words.
It's outright.

Speaker 3 (07:01):
God, I just make jokes about it all the time.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
I mean, I'm just imagine being money. Yes, how have
we been doing this in the workplace? You know?

Speaker 3 (07:11):
And it must be I mean I'm wondering if men
are just looking at whom and going what the fuck
is probably you know, just women just feeling completely inadequate.
But yeah, I've had some really challenging moments, you know,
I can feel them all throughout the day.

Speaker 2 (07:27):
Where I'm like, where is that word? Where is that?
But going through that, I seriously got to the point
where I was thinking, am I gonna Am I gonna
have dementia? Like I got that bad that I'm going,
Please don't tell me this is what's gonna this is
what my life's going to be. Because I was really
worried and then I thought, do I go get tested?

(07:49):
Do I go get no? Because if that's the case,
I don't want to know about it, you know. But
now that I'm on the other side of it, I'm like, yeah,
na fu de bencha.

Speaker 1 (08:01):
Not.

Speaker 3 (08:01):
Your energy levels and everything just been amazing and you
have like you've really enjoyed all the challenges that have
come your way and you're let's get this.

Speaker 2 (08:09):
So I'm going for this. Yeah, that's been really good.
So I did get to the point where with the
soccer work because I was doing social media for the
soccer club, and I did resign from that because I
just because with the workload at work, I felt like
I was not able to put in as much work

(08:30):
as I wanted to and could with the soccer stuff
because it's not just the soccer socials that I do
for Caroline Springs George Cross, but it's also for George's
on Vista the Bistro, and so finding the time to
do all of that as well as the podcast right
because I edit our podcast and now the reels. Now
now that I've learned how to do the reels. I

(08:50):
do the reels as well.

Speaker 3 (08:52):
I just love when you say you love it because
I'm sitting at home going what am I doing?

Speaker 2 (08:56):
Shit? But I but again, you know I do. I
enjoy it. I love it, you know. And so and
then there was also the they're not there was there's
the podcast training that I do for afters Now, that's
not so that that's in. That's in like a three
week block on a Tuesday night. But it's not like

(09:17):
you don't have three weeks on, three weeks off, three
weeks on, three weeks like, it's not like that. So
it's basically, okay, here's the course. So I might do
maybe you know, three or four of those a year,
so that's not too taxing. But when you've got everything
at once, that's when it gets really hard. So I
resigned from the soccer club with the social media. They
half accepted my resignation because they didn't want me to

(09:40):
go enough. I met the president and he goes, you know,
I don't want you to leave. I headhunted you for
this gig. I can't do it justice, and so we
came to a compromise. So the compromise now is that
I don't do the bistro social media. That's going to
somebody else. But I will continue to do the soccer
until the end of the year and then we'll reassess
it then, you know. So it's just now lining the balance.

(10:01):
Now that I have the energy back, like, I feel
better trying to get it all done, you know, And
because like I said before, the brain fog, it made
it really difficult because I was questioning myself going did
I do that? Did I not do that? Like I
wasn't sure that I'd done the job properly, and I
hate letting people down. So yeah, so now that I'm

(10:24):
more focused, I can feel like I'm getting the job done.
But it's like I said too, it's the balance of
you know, work life balance, because I don't want to
not do like I still want to live. Of course
I have my life and look, soccer season now we
are at our peak. This is the busy time of

(10:45):
the year, and so my weekends are taken up with soccer.
But having said that, you know, my friend Lindsay had
her fiftieth and we had a soccer game that night,
and so I'm not working. I've got my friend's fiftieth
and They're cool with that, you know, they get it.
They're not going to turn around and go, no, you
need to be at the club. So yeah. So for
me now, it's just finding that work life balance and

(11:07):
still doing the things that I want to do. Yeah,
you know, i'd love to have an overseas holiday. Like
we were looking at Barley.

Speaker 3 (11:14):
I nearly thought you were going to say I'd love
to have a man.

Speaker 2 (11:18):
Like you know what to ask you don't know. I
don't think so. I haven't good time for man.

Speaker 3 (11:24):
But I just see so much joy in you and
the way that you're living and the work that you're
doing and everything like that. It just seems like it's
so fulfilling for you. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (11:34):
Yeah, I just don't look at some stage you know. Yeah,
it'd be great to have a man in my life,
but I don't believe there.

Speaker 3 (11:40):
I don't believe.

Speaker 2 (11:41):
No, I don't need one to write. It's so funny.
I actually had a friend asked me about whether I
was dating or anything, and I'm like, nah, I don't
want to be dating people. It takes up too much
time to movie premieres with my son, we're off the
stage shows.

Speaker 3 (11:55):
I just want to meet the man. That's going to
be my future husband, and we just meet and.

Speaker 2 (12:00):
It just happens.

Speaker 3 (12:01):
It just happened like that, And you know what, I
feel like, I'm in such a better place where I'm living, because,
you know, I had the big fat Greek wedding situation
at home where there was me and my two sisters,
my sister's partner, my three nephews, my dad. There was
nine of us.

Speaker 2 (12:17):
Oh my god, in one house.

Speaker 3 (12:19):
In one house, there was nine of us. And then
when Dad's time, it would come over this ten and
then remember my bedroom was next to my dad's.

Speaker 2 (12:27):
Yeah, that's a that's yeah. Nah. Remember when I had
the wrong room. You know that, don't you?

Speaker 3 (12:32):
When I'm seeing Rob and Rob over and he was like, okay,
so that's your sister and your nephew and is that
your bedroom next to your dad's And I was like, oh,
my god, side bad. So now I've got my own place.

Speaker 2 (12:49):
It feels like I can actually meet someone and have
the Yeah.

Speaker 3 (12:53):
So yeah, stay tuned for that one, I know. And
there's there's lots of very lovely men around I'm living.
My girlfriends were over the other night for dinner and
one of them was like, you know what's the man
situation around And I'm like, oh my.

Speaker 2 (13:11):
God, I have a look, have a look. Just look
out the window, just you walk dinner, went at home.

Speaker 3 (13:17):
There's a lot of hipsters kind of thing, but they're
all very well groomed. And there's just lots of attractive men.
And then and that's not my huge thing, like I'll
see a good looking man, but I'm really looking for
an open heart. That's that's the big thing.

Speaker 2 (13:32):
And it looks good, that's a bonus totally because I can.

Speaker 3 (13:35):
Look at them and go, oh my god, he's but
I can feel their energy and am right now, he's
closed off, he's married, he hasn't done work on himself.

Speaker 2 (13:42):
You know, you can read them.

Speaker 3 (13:44):
So yes, stay tuned.

Speaker 2 (13:46):
There we go. But this year seems to be the
year for moving as well, Like the amount of people
that I know who are moving, Like there's obviously yourself,
like you've moved into your own place. My daughter is moving, well,
it's picked up the keys. She's in the process of
moving into her place. So my son Josh and his
girlfriend Chantelle are about to buy a place, are they. Yeah,

(14:10):
Oh my god, that's so exciting. Yeah, so they've signed
contracts subject to like finance and pest what is it
building inspection? Pest inspection? Yes, mind you. By the time
this podcast goes out, they probably bought the place, but
you know it's not even for them, so they don't
move until September. Can't say they've got a long like

(14:34):
a long settlement, but you know, so they're they're moving nearby.

Speaker 3 (14:38):
Or no, no, Tony where.

Speaker 2 (14:41):
About an hour and god knows a what a way?
Ah So Melbourne to Killmore, which she shouldn't say Melourne
kill More because I'm Caroline Springs. Caroline Springs to Kilmore.
So that's like a good hour and ten minutes maybe.

Speaker 3 (14:53):
Yeah, where's Kilmour here? It's sort of north Lancefield. Don't
talk compasses, right, Okay?

Speaker 2 (15:03):
If I point so there's Victoria says Melbourne going.

Speaker 3 (15:07):
Up out the way Lancefield is out sort of where
I used to live.

Speaker 2 (15:10):
Yeah, it's a way up that way.

Speaker 3 (15:12):
Okay?

Speaker 2 (15:12):
Does that make s way? Because they want land and
probably get away from me. I don't know, but do you.
I guess if you want land, that's a good place
to go. And that's them, you know what I mean,
Like that's they want the space they've got the dogs,
so the dogs can run around. Ye, they've got to
spare bedroom. So I decide I'm going on over weekend,
saidy yeah, oh my, how old are they? Twenty four?

Speaker 3 (15:38):
Twenty four?

Speaker 2 (15:38):
Okay, twenty three? What year will we in? Twenty twenty five,
so there'll be twenty four this year.

Speaker 3 (15:43):
Okay twenty four yeah, okay, so buying your house then
they could maybe get married maybe.

Speaker 2 (15:49):
Well this is a thing I reckon. If they get married,
they're not going to have the big church wedding. Yeah,
it'll be a case of have it on their property. Yeah.
Like I was going to say, like what you did?
You pop over someone there that's going to marry us.
That's the best. I think that that's the sort of
thing because now that they're buying a place and saving
to buy a place, like their priorities of change, because

(16:11):
that's the priority. Like you if even if you do
get married, you don't like people. I mean, I know
this couple. I don't know the female, but I know
the guy, and I don't even know what the wedding
cost him, but it was obviously a shitload of money
because her dress alone I think cost about twenty grand
thirty grand strow.

Speaker 3 (16:29):
Mother or nah, Jesus, that's like about five holidays.

Speaker 2 (16:33):
Oh my god, that's like I can fix you know,
the things at the front of the house. I can
get the carpets ripped up. I can put four boards in.

Speaker 3 (16:39):
But you know what I mean, if you've got the money,
that's you know, that's for some people that's.

Speaker 2 (16:44):
Just well, this is it, this is it so good? Clearly,
clearly that's you know, that's their situation. But even then,
my thing would still be twenty grand on a dress.
Are you kidding me?

Speaker 3 (16:54):
Oh, I'd be devastated.

Speaker 2 (16:55):
Twenty grand. Like I wanted to go to Balley in
July for a holiday because what happened was Lindsay and
Carla myself we decided we would have this little holiday.
Well we decided so Lindsay turned fifty and has her
twenty fifth wedding anniversary. Carlo's got her twenty fifth wedding
anniversary this year, and I was just going to go
on for the ride. I had got nothing to celebrate,

(17:18):
but that's okay. So the plan was we were going
to go to Ballei until I started looking at what
it was going to cost and flights and all that
sort of stuff, and I thought I can't afford this,
Like we were looking seriously for just Liam and I
to go. We're looking about seven grand. Oh really, yeah,
I'm going.

Speaker 3 (17:34):
This is BARLEI forgot it depends because I did me
and the three boys. Yeah, so four of us in
like May last year. Yeah, six grand total.

Speaker 2 (17:45):
Yeah. Yeah. This is school holiday because that's when I
can take my holidays. Yeah, okay, so it was school
holiday time. So then we decided we wouldn't go and look,
Lindsay was great about it, and then I was looking
at Tazzy and going to Tazzy for the week because
I've got two weeks off.

Speaker 3 (18:02):
In July and same cost as Bari.

Speaker 2 (18:05):
Well no, but he was the thing right, So no,
it it was going to be cheaper to do that.
But Liam is still studying, and Liam's holidays don't match
up with mine, and so what that would mean was
that he would still be and again we didn't have
his timetables. We don't know what classes has got then,
but it would just mean like if he's got three
days of classes, then we're going to be in Tazzy

(18:26):
and he's got three days going to be online in class,
So I said to him, listen, let's just not worry
about it this year and mind do this holiday to Tazzy.
We've been trying to do for about three years. So
I said, let's just wait till the end of the year.
We probably can't do it at the end of the
year because then Christmas is at my house this year,
so I'm going to spend two weeks fixing my house
to let people in. So we're probably gonna look at

(18:46):
doing it next year. And our big thing about going
to Tazzy is to see the aurors.

Speaker 3 (18:51):
Oh wow, I forget you could do that there.

Speaker 2 (18:54):
Yeah, freaking everywhere in Tazzy. So that's our big thing.
So tell us about where you're going with your little traps,
because I mean, I see these amazing photos you put up.
I obviously know where you're going. Yes, it's going to
be people listening. You've got no freaking idea.

Speaker 3 (19:09):
So great Ocean Road, Philip Island.

Speaker 2 (19:12):
Yep.

Speaker 3 (19:13):
I just did training the other day to take people
out to the Danding Knongs to the Puff and Billy
and I actually got to go on the from Biling.
This is so funny because I've always wanted to go
on it.

Speaker 2 (19:22):
And you'd never been on the Puffing Billy No until now. No,
So I said to them. I was like, guys, because
with the training, you don't go on it. But I
said to them, look, i haven't been on it before,
and I'd really like to, not just for myself, because
I'd like to experience what I'm talking about to the guests.
I want them. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (19:43):
So I someone actually couldn't make it on the day,
so I got to go on it. And you know
how everyone sits on the cel and has their legs
hanging out.

Speaker 2 (19:53):
I've never been on it.

Speaker 3 (19:54):
If you see photos of the puff and Billy, right,
everyone sits on the window ceiling, hangs their legs out
and it looks so much fun, and everyone's doing peace
signs and smiling and happy yea Tony. After about ten minutes,
I had a dead leg. I was like the Lindow
sill is I don't know, about five centimeters wide, and.

Speaker 2 (20:14):
I'm sitting on them.

Speaker 3 (20:15):
I'm like, shit, is anyone how smiling?

Speaker 2 (20:18):
What's happening there? Right? Oh my god?

Speaker 3 (20:21):
Thank god it stops halfway because it's an hour trip.

Speaker 2 (20:24):
Stops halfway, So you're sitting like that for half an hour.

Speaker 3 (20:26):
Oh my god, and I'm like talking to these guests.
So you know, I'm talking to a lady from Japan,
and then I've got ladies from Taiwan and they're all smiling,
taking photo videos and everything like that. I'm like, oh
my god, I'm not gonna be a like walk Chese
was gross. Anyway, we stop halfway and I get off.
I stayed on the carriage and I get off and
I'm like, oh, oh my god, I've got a dead leg. Actually,

(20:48):
someone catch me as I fall off the train and
all the guests were laughing at me. I'm like, some
one give me a wheelchair.

Speaker 2 (20:54):
I got.

Speaker 3 (20:56):
So I'm so glad I got to have that experience
just so I can say to people, yes, you can
do this.

Speaker 2 (21:02):
It may hurt. It does.

Speaker 3 (21:06):
Half way through there is a stop so you can
get off because you can't get off. You can't get
off of the train is moving because you're going to
fall backwards. Oh my god, courage and it's going to
be a big drama and so yeah. So but that's
so beautiful out there, and they're danding ons and you've
got all the mountain ash trees and everything is gorgeous.

(21:28):
So I do that, and then coming up, I've got
Grampians training day.

Speaker 2 (21:34):
That would be awesome.

Speaker 3 (21:35):
Grampians, so you actually take them on a guided walk
through all the you know, the Grampians and waterfalls and
everything like that. And then there's a lot of wildlife
and that, so you go out looking at EMUs and
kangaroos and everything like that. And then I've got a training.
I'll do a training for Wilson's Problem, which I love

(21:55):
down there Tidal River. And I'm also going to be
doing city tours, which I'm so excited about. So actually
taking people around Melbourne. Did you actually know you went
on a city to get on a city tour. Yes.
And the guy that took the tour was an English guy,
that's and he was great. He was so good. And
I said to you, he goes, where are you from?

(22:16):
I go Melbourne. He goes, right, I don't forget people
from Melbourne, Okay, I said, I just feel like there's
so many things about Melbourne that I don't know. And
there was I didn't know. Melbourne used to be called Batmania?
Did you know?

Speaker 2 (22:31):
Do you know that bat Mania.

Speaker 3 (22:33):
So late eighteen hundreds of a set called John Batman yeah,
I knew, yeah, I know, bam. And he did the
fake treaty with the indigenous people, so he named it Batmania.
We had Tasmania, so he called it Batmania really, and
then another set that was like listen, it's not gonna work.
And Melbourne was named after Lord Melbourne from the Youth.

Speaker 2 (22:57):
Melbourne.

Speaker 3 (22:57):
Well, yeah, there was a Lord Melbourne. That's where the
name come from. But otherwise we were going to be
called Batmania like. So there was just things like that
that I'm.

Speaker 2 (23:08):
Like, what, Melbourne sounds a lot better than Batman, totally, totally.

Speaker 3 (23:13):
So there were these really cute stories and like at
the Block arcade. Do you know that beautiful block arcade
on Collins Street and you go in and there's like
Haig's Chocolate and it's just oh yeah, yeah, and I
think it's like that it's either the oldest arcade or
one of the oldest arcades in Australia yep. And he
said it used to be like a real live tinder.
So on race day, men and.

Speaker 2 (23:35):
Women, literally my brain just had to like pause for
a second. I thought, did she just say tinder? Yes?
And that's what he was saying.

Speaker 3 (23:45):
The thing it was so funny, Oh my god, and
he said they would they would come down. So the
men would be there at the front of the block
arcade in their suits, and then the women would come
down all dressed and they would sort of like parade
past each other, and if there was like a little
smile or they were attracted to each other, they would
grab each other's head.

Speaker 2 (24:03):
That's like a swipe right, swipe left exactly.

Speaker 3 (24:07):
And then I can't remember the word that, there was
a word for it, but they would grab each other's hands,
and then they would go walking through the arcade. There
was some word for it. They'd walk through the arcade
and then eventually make their way to the races. But
they sort of did this showing off thing through the arcade,
and so Cutey.

Speaker 2 (24:24):
Had pictures of it and everything. Oh my gosh. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (24:27):
So there was so many little interesting things that I
learned that's so worth doing. It's like a free guided walk.
You just tip them at these.

Speaker 2 (24:35):
So is that the tour you would be doing in
the city.

Speaker 3 (24:39):
I would be doing something similar, but you just take
people around to the cathedral mcg Where else was it
the shrine? I think the Immigration Museum. There's a couple
of other places, and you just talk about the history
of Melbourne. So I've got to get trained up on
all those things. So there's just been so much learning.

(24:59):
My brain has exploded.

Speaker 2 (25:01):
I was gonna say, so do you then have to
look up that information yourself? Like?

Speaker 3 (25:07):
So they when you do the training, like I've gone
out with five different guides and they sort of share
similar information. But basically you're running your own show, so
to speak. So you talk about the things that you're
interested in, and that way it comes across better with
your guests. So I've taken bits of the things that
they've taught me and then incorporated my own stuff. So

(25:30):
and then I just like chat beche chat.

Speaker 2 (25:37):
Another drink place. That's what a spike, isn't it? Oh
my god?

Speaker 3 (25:41):
So yeah, I've just like, okay, give me facts on
the Westgate Breach, the Arraw River, this and that. So yeah,
I've been learning so much. So the first month I
was on another planet.

Speaker 2 (25:54):
And brain FOG's not going to help you with that either.

Speaker 3 (25:57):
Learning the job and I had to learn how to
drive twenty four seat a bus, guys, I had to
get my truck license, so I'm officially a driver as well.

Speaker 2 (26:06):
Love it.

Speaker 3 (26:07):
Oh my god, it's like the best party skill to have.
Like imagine a bladdy. Someone's like, can you anyone to
move the truck?

Speaker 1 (26:14):
Move?

Speaker 3 (26:14):
And I'll be like, yep, that's me. But do you
know what the funny thing was? I had the best
time learning how to drive a truck. It was so
much for you have to have lessons. Yes, I had
to on the day and usually there's two people that
the guy instructs, so you only get like one goal
at the course.

Speaker 2 (26:32):
Well it was just.

Speaker 3 (26:33):
Me, and he goes, oh, this is rare. You know,
you should take two people black He goes, so you're
going to get lots of training. So I got to
do the course three times, which is around Tullomarine and
then you go out into this sort of paddic area
and you do the reverse parking. So I had to
reverse park a truck in an S shape and I
had one go doing it and I had to get it. God,

(26:53):
And I was so proud because when I passed the test,
hecause you're actually a good truck driver.

Speaker 2 (26:58):
And I'm like, I didn't know I had an inn
He I didn't know. And then when I went.

Speaker 3 (27:09):
Started my job on my Like, on my first training day,
I got offered to go on a helicopter ride over
the twelve Apostles and I was like, oh my god,
I did that and I got off and I'm like,
that's it. I'm getting my helicopter license.

Speaker 2 (27:20):
Yeah, Okay, there's a lot more work involved in that.
I've gone through that. I'm not much a helicopter, but
I've gone through the flying process. Oh my god. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (27:28):
And I think it's like one hundred k or something
to get your license, your helicopter license. And I'm like, me,
I don't really because.

Speaker 2 (27:33):
I've trained, Like, yeah, looking at three and fifty dollars,
like at least just for a lesson.

Speaker 3 (27:39):
Yeah, but yeah, you know, getting that truck license is
really like what can I get next to it?

Speaker 2 (27:46):
Is, isn't it? It is just like it is I
don't know how to describe it, but it's almost like
it's like kidting reset button. That's how it feels. Yeah.
And I know we talked a little bit about it
being an nine year you know, and nine nine year
I think is like the end of something, but the
beginning of something else, you know, Like it's just just

(28:06):
feels like there's been so much change this year and
we're only in hours. It may May, June.

Speaker 3 (28:14):
It is yeah, crazy, I know, I know, but yeah
it is.

Speaker 2 (28:19):
It's really it is. It's that you for.

Speaker 3 (28:20):
Change, and yeah, it's exciting. So and you know what
I mean, I'm really excited too that your daughter Jess
is going to be living near you. And yeah, you
know how.

Speaker 2 (28:31):
You know what that means though, It means that she's
going to go away and go Can you come and
feed my cats? That's okay because I can go, Jests,
I'm going away, come and feed my cats. That's right,
That's right. So she's crazy, is god.

Speaker 3 (28:47):
Yeah, she's got two cats and she's like me.

Speaker 2 (28:50):
So so the first cat she's got, his mama, mama
was astray one of the houses that she was living in.
This stray cat just sort of was hanging around and
Jess took her in started looking after her because she
wasn't not that she wasn't well, but she was you
could see she was Mattie and allso of stuff. And
then she'd had a couple of letters and so Jess,
you know, gave away the kittens overtime and then with

(29:12):
the last letter she kept kept one of the cats
whose name is Eric. So Eric's this massive, like he's
a big.

Speaker 3 (29:22):
Tom cat, had a cat called Amy.

Speaker 2 (29:27):
I've got Sebastian, I've got Ollie. You know, we just
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (29:33):
This is funny.

Speaker 2 (29:36):
So Mama and Eric the two that she's got. And yeah,
so she's like big crazy cat lady. You know. Well,
in fact, most of my kids are like Josh loves
cats as well, but they've got dogs now. So they
did have Angel who's now still with me, who's technically
now Liam's cat like trying to get her back, Josh.
She ain't not gonna happen. Yeah, but she just loves

(29:58):
Liam's death. Oh my god. She follows him all over
the house. Really yeah wow? Yeah, god, So you've just
raised like a crazy cat people family. Well, you know,
I can't be the only crazy one in the house.
My ex is a crazy cat person as well. My god,
he doesn't have a cat now.

Speaker 3 (30:15):
But yeah, yeah, well so this is a good thing.
The chess is moving near you, yep, and she'll be
able to help look after your cats. You can look
after her cat.

Speaker 2 (30:24):
This is perfect. This wouldn't any better.

Speaker 3 (30:28):
That's actually what I was excited about for you. You're
finally going to have someone to look after your cats, and.

Speaker 2 (30:32):
You get yeah, none and go away.

Speaker 3 (30:35):
But I was actually excited that because given you know,
from our last podcast, and you know, there's a lot
of our listeners have listened to you guys talk openly
about your relationship.

Speaker 2 (30:46):
Yep.

Speaker 3 (30:49):
Yeah, just really excited about where this is going to
go for you guys. You know, just having more time
together and getting to know each other at this place now.
So yeah, it's really cool.

Speaker 2 (30:59):
Yes, lots of change changes and then having said that,
there's going to be a few adjustments and changes with
the podcast, that's right. Yes, this is very exciting. So
we're not going to give too much away right now,
but it's going to be I mean, we're still going
to be doing our thing, but we're doing it. We're
going to be more different.

Speaker 3 (31:19):
Yeah, and we're very excited about what is on its
way for you guys, and you know, and we've also
had offers too from Jason.

Speaker 2 (31:30):
Oh, yes, Jason Simmons, who was I don't know how
many episodes ago, Jason. It was a former Baywatch man. Dude, babe,
I don't want to term I the babes with him
on the cover right anyway, So Jason, this is the
funniest thing.

Speaker 3 (31:47):
Jason loves us and wants to do a podcast with
I love Jason, Yes, we love Jays.

Speaker 2 (31:51):
It'll be a lot of fun. That will be like
we've got a lot coming I know, man, but it's
exciting exciting times ahead. Yeah, definitely. Yes.

Speaker 3 (32:05):
Well, so I think we've gas bagged enough. We think
so we can go off in our matching shawls and
me Nanna's now, yes.

Speaker 2 (32:11):
We can do that now and like just going on
believe it. Actually, I'm gonna have to get a photo
of this.

Speaker 3 (32:18):
Go on, next step, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (32:25):
Alright, shell cell chou chouche out for now. There we go.
That's a new sign of.

Speaker 3 (32:35):
God.
