Your beliefs shape your life. They can be considered programs that are running your life mostly at the level below your conscious awareness called the subconscious. It's a good thing that you have many of the essential beliefs below the surface so you don't have to think about how to do the basic things of life such as walking and talking and being able to be independent. Think about riding a bike and driving your car. They are automatic and you don't need to relearn those skills.
