Sophia Moermond is a member of the Legislative Council in the Parliament of Western Australia for the Legalise Cannabis Party. She was elected on a legalise cannabis platform, having developed an intense interest in the use of cannabis following her own experience of a complex and expensive treatment path for her mother. Sophia believes in the same freedom of choice to use cannabis that is currently enjoyed by alcohol users in Australia and is also a strong advocate for the many sustainable uses of hemp. This was a fascinating and enjoyable discussion around a complex subject. We discuss legalisation, de-criminalisation, the complexities for road policing and the revenue benefits to the government.
