Being present in a group of people can feel uncomfortable, and it can be intimidating–scary, even–to open up and be vulnerable with others. But as humans, we need meaningful connection. It is truly one of the most powerful tools we have for growth.

In this episode, I’m joined by my friend and colleague, tapping coach Melanie Fay. Together, we are hosting The Deep Reset Retreat this October, and today we’re inviting you into a conversation about the power of being present and having meaningful connection with otherstwo things that make an in-person women’s retreat such an incredible opportunity for change.

We have all felt the effects of isolation over the last several years. While virtual tools expanded our world in many ways, the pandemic also caused us to lose touch with the benefits of in-person connection and the fabric of a community. Many of us continue to feel the impact of this disconnection today.

Increasing connection in your daily life is important, but there is nothing quite like stepping into a dedicated space for growth and belonging. When you step away from your familiar roles and responsibilities, you create space to reset and refresh. You experience the safety that allows you to be fully present and find clarity.

At The Deep Reset Retreat, a group of women will gather with intention—with the desire to heal, grow, and expand. In such a genuine space, you can feel the energy of support and connection. You can feel the permission to simply be yourself. And from that place, what you most need for your next chapter naturally comes forward. I can’t wait for you to hear all about it in this episode.

What you’ll learn:

  • How isolation brings opportunities to see where we’re unfulfilled and make a change
  • The power of newness and how a fresh space allows you to see yourself differently
  • Why a sense of belonging is essential for the empowerment that comes from being fully yourself
  • How meaningful connection provides the safety and permission we need for growth
  • How your capacity for being present expands when you travel to a space dedicated to slowing down

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
