How do I face pain and suffering? What does a Christian say when confronted with the problem of evil? It seems to me that the problem of pain, evil, and suffering is a problem for everyone; but the Christian has a story that allows the glory of God to be revealed through it all. It is called the cross.
The sermon today is titled "Pain & Suffering." This sermon is the third installment in our recurring series "The Struggles We Face." (Part 1 and Part 2 deal with estranged children). The Scripture reading is from 1 Peter 4:12-13 and Hebrews 9:14. Originally preached at the West Side Church of Christ (Searcy, AR) on November 2, 2025. All lessons fit under one of 6 broad categories: Begin, Instill, Discover, Grow, Learn, and Serve. This sermon is filed under GROW: Dealing with Struggles and Suffering.

Are You A Charlotte?
In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
