Welcome to Episode 29 of LifeRhythms Radio!

In this episode, Robert interviews Eden Iris. They discuss the powerful and relevant topic of “The Creative Process of Songwriting” – something that many of you will find quite inspiring, engaging and informative.

About Eden:

Eden is an award-winning artist from Auckland, New Zealand, Eden Iris has been described as "a writer working in a new space”. Her biggest influences include songwriters Stevie Nicks and Tori Amos.  After moving to Los Angeles to explore a bigger musical landscape, she ironically teamed up with fellow Kiwi artist Jess Harlen, who co-produced all the songs on her new EP “Demons” (except for “22” produced by Bruce Lynch).  Eden recorded and performed nearly all of the instruments on the EP herself at her home studio, including guitar, banjo, auto-harp, and piano. Her unique voice combines confessional-style lyrics with pop sensibility, exploring themes of innocence, temptation, and depression. Three of the songs on the EP were loosely inspired by characters from HBO’s Game of Thrones series, while other songs were inspired by more personal demons. The Demons EP has been described as “soul stirring, beautifully arranged and poignantly observed…” (Mike Alexander, Sunday Star Times).

Also in this episode, you will hear music from Eden's EP titled “Dark Sunday Dream”, as well as her inspiration for choosing it. Lastly, please be in touch with Eden after listening and tell her that you heard her interview on LifeRhythms Radio. Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
