As a young boy, Richard faced overwhelming challenges—Tourette syndrome, his mother’s severe mental illness, his parents’ divorce, and poverty. Yet in a blessing from his grandfather, he was told that one day he would be known throughout the world.
Decades later, in his 30s, Richard wrote The Christmas Box, a tender novel about a father’s love for his children. After early success, he decided to invest in sharing the book beyond his local community. But when every effort seemed to fail and he stood on the verge of losing everything, Richard received a life-changing message from God. Soon after, The Christmas Box gained national recognition and landed on the New York Times Bestseller list and gaining international fame and selling more that 8 million copies.
From there, doors opened with publishers and agents, and Richard’s career soared. Today, with 47 New York Times Bestsellers, he reflects on the many times God guided his path, through moments of inspiration, times of desperation, and messages of hope that changed the course of his life.
