Episode 23 has been a work in progress for nearly a year. Derek Craig, founder and owner of New Day Outdoors, and I have been trying TO overlap our calendars since we last saw each other at the 2024 Archery Trade Association (ATA) last January.
Between work, family, turkey hunting, show season and a myriad of other outside influences, we have been unsuccessful in sitting down with microphones in our faces until this recent recording.
We could not have asked for better timing, though!!!
This episode dives into our shared love of Hot Shot Archery and some great release discussion, we talk about the ATA, we discuss my potential career change of direction. But most importantly, you as listeners will listen to Derek share his most recent, and one of his most memorable, archery whitetail hunts.
Derek has spent his hunting life pursuing turkey and whitetail on private flatlands. This season he shed his layers of comfort and tackled some hill country public ground, completely breaking his own mold and jumping into a new world of pursuing game.
Listening to Derek share his story, listeners will not just hear, but feel his excitement. Hopefully listening to Derek will inspire others to break out of their comfort zones and do something abnormal. Out of routine. An unknown.
