Rain can destroy, but it can also nourish—this profound paradox forms the heart of "Through the Rain," a groundbreaking devotional anthology curated by Dr. Jacqueline Cox. The collection features raw, powerful testimonies from women who've weathered life's most devastating storms and emerged not merely surviving, but transformed.

"This devotional is for the woman hiding her tears from her kids, the man who's afraid to admit that he's tired, the teen who feels like no one hears them," shares Dr. Cox, revealing that this project was born from her own seasons of storm—loss, betrayal, grief, illness, and heartbreak. When God whispered "write, heal, and release," she answered the call, bringing together voices that speak authentically to pain and redemption.

What makes this anthology extraordinary isn't polished perfection but its raw honesty. Contributors like Prophetess Leah M Kelly who teaches discernment in downpours, Dr. Audrey M Moses who vulnerably shares her marriage dissolution and restoration, and Elena Maria who honors her sister lost to domestic violence—each brings their unique perspective on weathering storms. Their chapters don't just tell stories of survival; they offer spiritual anchors for readers facing their own tempests.

The devotional, releasing winter 2025, stands as testament that our most painful seasons often yield the most profound growth. As Dr. Cox beautifully puts it, "The rain did not ruin you, it revealed you and baby, you didn't just survive the storm, you became someone brand new in it." Pre-order your copy from any featured co-author for $30 (shipping included), or if you have your own storm testimony to share, reach out about becoming one of the final three contributors. Remember, God's glory always grows in wet soil.

(08:45):
Will you be there for me?
Come on, baby, let's go.
Come on, baby.
Can you stand alone?
Can you stand alone?
Can you stand the rain?
Can you stand the rain If youneed it now?

(09:09):
Can you stand the storm?
It comes for sure.
Can you stand the rain?
Can you stand the rain?
Can you stand the pain?
Can you stand the pain?
Can you stand the pain?

(09:34):
Can you stand the pain?
Can you stand by me?
Can you stand by me?
This thing goes so fast.

(09:57):
Can you stand by me?
Can you stand by me?

Speaker 2 (10:27):
Yes, that was one of my favorite raindrop songs.
With new edition, can you standthe rain?
And while we're on rain, right, because the title is through
the rain, let me just be real.
This is not just a devotionaly'all, this is a movement.
This is for every person who'sever had to cry silently in the

(10:51):
shower, shout in their car orwhisper God, why me?
In the middle of the night.
I didn't just curate this book,I lived it.
I prayed through everysubmission, I cried reading
these chapters and I knewinstantly this book was going to
change lives.

(11:12):
I can see it in his eyes.

Speaker 1 (11:38):
And he's been avoiding me all day, seems as
though he wants to cry, cry, andhe's been acting with his
strength.
He starts talking and I tunehim out.
Yeah, it doesn't matter anyway, cause I know, as soon as I talk

(12:00):
about him, I knew he was gonnasay when the wind stopped
blowing.
The wind stopped blowing, Iknew it's coming for you, just
like a hurricane.
Just like a hurricane.
The way you break everythingthat comes in your way, just

(12:30):
like a hurricane.
Just like a hurricane.
The way you broke my heart andI woke up with a bang After the
hurricane.
Baby, I'm not surprised.

(12:51):
Oh I.
You said just what I thoughtyou would.
And it hurts, I ain't gonna lie, oh I, but it doesn't hurt as
bad as it hurts.

(13:12):
Bye, know, it's coming like ahurricane, like a hurricane.
The way you break everythingthat comes in your way, just
like a hurricane.
Just like a hurricane.

(13:33):
The way you broke my heart andI woke up with a bang after the
hurricane.
Oh, oh.
Now my life is shattered andI'm left to pick up the pieces

(13:54):
and find a new beginning and putit back together again after

(14:21):
the hurricane.
Thank you, bye.
The way you broke my heart andnow I'm in with the pain After
the hurricane.

Speaker 2 (15:02):
After the hurricane yes, that was my girl, jasmine
Sullivan, with After theHurricane.
After the hurricane, and now Iwant you guys to meet the storm

(15:28):
survivors.
Here are a few of the women Nowthis is not all of them, okay,
because I can't give y'alleverything in one tape but a few
of the women.
I want to introduce you to someof their chapters.
So the first one I want tointroduce you guys to is
prophetess Leah M Kelly.

(15:50):
Her chapter is Raindrops ofRevelation and baby, baby.
She teaches us how to discernin the downpour.
Okay, her chapter is off thechain.
Then you got Dr Audrey M Moses.

(16:11):
Now she wrote the Storm Within, when One Becomes Two, and this
is really to me a raw, reflective piece of inner
battles and spiritualbreakthrough.
And she also kind of speaks onhow she was married, got a
divorce and end up coming backso many years later and they are

(16:34):
happily ever after now.
So very beautiful piece.
But she really digs deep andgives her all in this chapter
Phenomenal, phenomenal job.
Then we have Dr Letitia Perryand she delivers soaked in rain,
rising in power, and let metell you it is a whole testimony

(16:56):
on how to be drenched inpurpose.
Then we got my girl, my poet, natasha Haggins, and she gave us
twofold freedom and leaked andliberation.
My journey home.
It's emotional, it's redemptiveand unapologetically free, I
can say that.

(17:17):
Then we have Elena Maria, who'sa really good friend of mine.
She shines through the cloudsin her chapter.
Her love still shines after therain.
And I will tell you now.
This one is um, paying homageto her sister, um.
And Elena Maria is no shyperson from this show.

(17:40):
She's been on plenty of timesand we actually did a
commemorative show about hersister who died at the hands of
domestic violence, and so shetalks about that in this chapter
and this one.
It wrecked me y'all, it reallydid.
And of course, we have TiaStrickland.

(18:00):
She offers a beautiful healingbalm and beauty after the rain,
because sometimes the rainbowisn't in the sky, it really is
in the survival.
Okay, so next up, I want toplay for you guys.
Adele, set fire to the rain, let's go with Bill.

Speaker 1 (18:33):
It was dark and I was over, until you kissed my lips
and you saved me my hands.
They were strong, but my kneeswere far too weak To stand in

(19:01):
your arms Without falling intoyour feet.
But there's a side to you thatI never knew.
Never knew All the things yousay.
They were never true, nevertrue.
And the games you played, youwould always, would always win,
I would always been always win.
But I said fire to rain, watchthe floors of the next to face

(19:28):
when it burn.
Will I cry, cause I heard itscreaming out your name, your
name?
When I'm with you, I could staythere, close my eyes For you

(19:52):
Forever, you and me together.
Nothing gets better, causethere's a side To you that I
never, never knew All the thingsyou'd say.
They were never knew.
Never knew all the things you'dsay.
They were never true, nevertrue when the games you'd play
you would always and always win.

(20:13):
But I'll say fire the rain, watch the paradise touch your
face when it burns.
Will I cry, cause I heard itscreaming out your name is.
I can't help myself fromlooking for your love.

(21:10):
I'll set fire to the rain.

Speaker 2 (21:14):
Watch it pour down at your face when it burns.
Will I cry, cause I heard itscreaming.
Aren't you going to hang?
I'll set fire to.
The rain is the last time, thelast time.

(21:46):
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh,oh, oh, oh oh, baby, baby, baby
, baby, baby, baby, baby.
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby,
baby.
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.

(22:15):
Thank you, yes, yes, yes, thatwas Adele, with Set Fire to the

(22:36):
Rain, and sometimes that's likewhat I want to do, right?
So I haven't given you guys thetitle of my chapter yet and I
won't.
You got to buy the book tofigure out what my chapter title
is, but I do want to give youguys a little piece of my
personal journey as thevisionary.
Now, you all know I've walkedthrough my own seasons of storm,

(22:57):
lost, betrayal, grief, illness,heartbreak.
But still God whispered to mewrite, heal and release.
This book is the answer to thatcall, and every woman in it has
shown up with her scars stillhealing, mascara still smudged

(23:18):
and said here I am, lord, usethis.
And that's what makes thisdevotional different, because
it's not perfect, right, butit's powerful.
And speaking of not beingperfect, but being powerful.

Speaker 1 (23:36):
I want to play for you guys, mariah Carey, through
the Rain, because we all canmake it through the rain,
because we all can make it inthe rain, with nowhere to run,

(24:07):
when you're distraught and inpain without anyone, when you
keep crying out to be saved butnobody comes and you feel so far
away that you just can't findyour way home.

(24:31):
You can get there alone, it'sokay.
I can make it through the rain.

(24:52):
I can stand up once again on myown and I know that I'm strong
enough to mend, thank you.

(25:38):
And if you keep falling down, don't you dare give in.
You will arise safe and sound.
So keep pressing on, step bystep, and you'll find what you
need to breathe in what you say.

(26:05):
I can make it through the ring,I can stand up once again on my
own and I know that I'm strongenough to mend.
And every time I feel free, Ihold tight to my faith and I

(26:29):
live one more day and I make itthrough the rain.
And when the rain falls, asshadows grow close, don't be
afraid.
There's nothing you can't face.

(26:51):
And should they tell you You'llnever pull through, don't
hesitate.
Stand tall and say I can makeit through the rain.

(27:16):
I can stand up once again On myown and I know that I'm strong
enough to match.
And every time I feel afraid, Ihold tight to my faith and I

(27:38):
live one more day and I make itthrough the rain.
I can make it through the rainand I live one more day and
night.
I can make it through the rain.

Speaker 2 (28:32):
Oh, yes, that was Mariah Carey, with Make it
Through the Rain, through theRain.
Why you need this book?
You need this book because thisdevotional is for the woman
hiding her tears from her kids, the man who's afraid to admit
that he's tired, the teen whofeels like no one hears them,

(28:55):
the mama grieving silently, thesoul waiting on the storm to
pass.
It's for you, you're not toobroken, you're not too far gone
and, baby, you are definitelynot alone.
And with that I want to play asong, and I want to make sure

(29:19):
that I'm intentional with thisone.
This one is called Angel Cry,with Mariah Carey and Ne-Yo.

Speaker 1 (29:38):
Let's play that one right now, if you say we could
have made everything okay, butwe just threw the blade back and

(30:05):
forth.
We treated love like a sport.
The final blow it's all or I'mstill on the ground.
I couldn't have prepared myselffor this fall, shattered in
pieces, curled on the floor.
The natural love conquers all.
Remember we used to touch thesky and lightning.

(30:30):
Don't strike the same placetwice.
When you and I said goodbye, Ifound the angels cry Through all
the lows.
Again.
We let it drip In a storm.
Every night I feel the angelscry.

(30:52):
I'm making our love be revived.
Bring it back and we gon' makeit right.
Only answers, trying to surviveas the angels cry.
How can we be forever andalways?
You were serenity.
You took away the bad days, didn't always treat you right,

(31:13):
but it was okay.
I do some stupid and you stillstay with me.
But you can only go for so longDoing the one you claim the love
wrong Before too much is enough.
You look up, find your lovegone and we were so good
together.
How come we could not weatherthis storm and just do better?

(31:37):
Why do we say goodbye?
We could not weather this stormand just do better.
Why do we say goodbye?
It's lightning.
Don't strike the same placetwice.
When you and I said goodbye, all the angels cry True, love's

(32:00):
a gift.
We let it drift in the stormBye, only us just trying to

(32:21):
survive as the angels cry Baby,I'm this.
I don't know love, don't knowabout me.
Got a ride in?
Ooh, I'm reaching for you.
Baby, I'm this.
I don't know love, don't knowabout we.
Got a ride, I got it, I got it.

(32:43):
You're on the side Learning.
Don't strike the same place.
You were, you and I saidgoodbye, but the angels cried so

(33:20):
long again, bye.

Speaker 2 (33:33):
