Nicholas Dillon is a certified life and recovery coach and a private practice drug and alcohol counselor. He’s also an accomplished author, leadership consultant, and speaker. As a counselor, it’s Nick’s priority to create a holistic therapeutic atmosphere that promotes growth and positive change. He believes that therapy is a process that can move you toward being the healthiest version of yourself and living the life you desire.
Nick uses a variety of approaches to address his clients’ unique needs. Many of his successful treatment plans utilize a foundation of Christianity and cognitive/cognitive-behavioral therapy, then quickly move toward a tailored treatment plan and approach that includes tools to help sustain the growth experienced in regular therapy. He’s also a fan of self-compassion and mindfulness, and neuroscientific research shows these techniques make people happier, more resilient, and better equipped to heal painful memories from the past.
It's Nick’s honor and mission to help his clients move past what’s blocking them from reaching their full potential individually and in their relationships. In this conversation, Nick shares his thoughts on cognitive behavioral therapy and how everything stems from our belief systems. We also discuss how to bring mindfulness and truth into our lives, how to shift the beliefs that no longer work for us, and more.
