(00:21):

Founder of analyticalpsychology.
Carl Yung said, I am n ot whathappened to me.
I a m what I c hoose to become.
Let tha t re sonate for amoment.

(00:47):
I a m no t what happened to me.
I a m wh at I c h o ose to be come.
I s p oke last week aboutlistening to oneself and the
importance of listening from aneutral place.
Or as I put it listening fromnothing.

(01:12):
When we do, we, we begin tounderstand things about
ourselves that we may not haveever known or seen.
And once we do see it, we can'tunsee it.

(01:34):
But in the same token, it is sovital to see the things that are
unseen.
These events, as I call the m, come to us as dreams, reflections
conversations, occurrences innature.
And in pe ople eve ry da y, w eare receiving information and me

(01:59):
ssages of wha t we should bedoing or how we should be doing
it or why we're doing it.
And it's up to us to be open toit, right?
It's up to us to accept orreject whatever comes our wa y.

(02:28):
But to remember that we are notdefined by it.
We can't define ourselves by anyof it.
We are not what happened to us.
We are what we choose to becomeevery day.

(02:50):
Every single day a nd momentaffords us the possibility of
changing, evolving, pivoting towhatever we decide.

(03:12):
Every single decision comes withsome type of outcome.
You can choose to have an eventperson, tragedy, mistake, dream
define, define who you are andlabel who you are.

(03:34):
But only you can say that only, only you can choose that you,
you define w ho y ou a re.

(03:52):
And once You choose not to be defined by whatever anyone says
or anything you do, once youchoose not to be defined
anymore, you become free! Youbecome free of guilt, shame.

(04:19):
You become free of inadequacy orlack.
You begin to become abundant, abundant in every single thing
you say you do you feel orbelieve you are not what

(04:47):
happened to you.
You are what you choose tobecome.

Vernae (04:55):
Before I sat down to, to this episode out, I was vibing
out to Sade.
Her song.
Love is stronger than pride.
She says, I won't pretend that Iintend to stop living.

(05:16):
I won't pretend that I'm good atforgiving.
Before I decided to do today'sepisode, I was humming that
song.
And as I come to the end of thisepisode, episode 13, I realized

(05:38):
that love is stronger thanpride.
And I choose love.
I choose.
I choose me.
And I wanted for so long to giveup on me.

(06:05):
And I wanted for so long todefine myself by choices I made
or things I didn't say or thingsI said or events that happened
to me or choices or people Imet.

(06:28):
I chose for so long to bedefined by all of it.
But it isn't true.
Love is stronger than pride.
And I love me.
I love my existence.

(06:53):
I Love the life that I'vecreated for myself.
And I sing to myself.
I do really, really love you.
Love is stronger and pride.

(07:17):
I do really, really love you.
Yeah.
And I do not intend to stopliving, learning, loving, and

(07:41):
listening.
Thank you.
Thank you for listening andsupporting my podcast.
Thank You for joining me on thisabsolute cathartic and For Me,

(08:09):

and support.
And Just Thank you.
