What if the safest place you could ever find is not where you live, but within yourself? What if your body, mind, and spirit were your sanctuary, your home? This episode of the Listening Ears Podcast invites you on a journey of introspection, mindfulness, and self-awareness, prompting you to explore the concept of 'home' beyond the four walls and a roof. Together, we'll unravel the intertwined facets of home, presence, inspiration, and self-awareness, and how they play a crucial role in our personal development and emotional equilibrium.

The real voyage of self-discovery starts by making a promise to yourself - a vow to stay present, to nurture your passionate sparks, and to understand that you are the home you've been searching for. As your guide, I encourage you to fill your internal sanctuary with what ignites your passion, instills peace, and fosters growth. It's not about the size of your house, but the love within it, not the tranquility of your surroundings, but the peace within you. So, join us as we foster our inner homes, embarking on the transformative journey of self-awareness and personal growth. Let's make 'home' a place within us, filled with strength, inspiration, acceptance, and love. Are you ready to find your heart and, in the process, discover your 'home'?

Vernae Bezear (00:00):
Hello, my wonderful listeners, and welcome
back to season two of theListening Ears Podcast.
This is your go-to podcast forself-awareness and your journey
of self-discovery.
I am your host, Vernae Bezear, and I'm so grateful you've
chosen to spend your time withus today.

(00:21):
Today we're diving into theidea of home, not just as a
physical location, but as astate being a of place in our
hearts and our minds and withinour spirits.
So let's get ready to explorethe concept of home on a deeper

(00:45):
level and see how it intertwineswith the art of staying present
, maintaining our inspiration, and heightening our
self-awareness.
You've heard the saying beforehome is where the heart is.
We've all heard it and it'strue, isn't it?

(01:06):
A home is more than a house.
It is a sanctuary where youfeel secure, loved and, most
importantly, where you can beyour authentic self.
But how does this tie into theideas of mindfulness,

(01:27):
inspiration and self-awareness?
The concept of home is alsoabout grounding yourself in the
present moment.
So often we're caught up in therush of life, the
go-go-go-go-go mentality thatkeeps us all on our toes.
In the flurry of tasks, weoften lose sight of the here and

(01:54):
now.
When we think of home, we'rerooted in the present.
The feeling of home isessentially about being present,
fully aware of your emotions, your thoughts, your senses.
So what if we extend this ideaof home beyond the physical?

(02:19):
What if we view our body, ourmind, our spirit as our home?
If we do that, we then start torealize that staying present,
staying aware, is not just apractice, but it's a way of life

(02:42):
.
As we cultivate this sense ofhome within ourselves, we're
creating a space for inspirationto bloom.
As you grow this home within, remember to fill it with the
things that ignite your passion.
Surround yourself with whatbrings you joy, energizes you

(03:07):
and instills a sense of peace.
Make your inner home a breedingground for inspiration.
Finally, let's discussself-awareness.
A home is a reflection of whowe are.

(03:30):
At our core, it's filled withour memories, our values, our
dreams, our fears, victories, and our lessons.
In the same way, building ahome within ourselves means

(03:53):
understanding and acceptingthese facets of ourselves.
It's about self-reflection,introspection, and honesty with
ourselves.
As we construct this internalhome, we become more aware of

(04:16):
our strengths and weaknesses, our patterns, and our potential.
This self-awareness is not adestination.
It never is.
It's a journey, a journey thatleads to understanding,

(04:38):
acceptance, and, ultimately,transformation.
And so my challenge for youafter this episode is to take
some time and reflect.
Reflect on what home means toyou.

(04:59):
Reflect on how you can build asense of home within yourself,
reflect on how you can create asense of home for others and, as
you go about your week, try toremind yourself of this- you are

(05:23):
your own home.
You carry it within you.
It is a place of strength andpeace.
It is a place of growth andinspiration.
It is a place of awareness andacceptance.

(05:44):
At the end of the day, whatmatters most is not the size of
your house, but the love withinit, not the tranquility of your
surroundings, but the peacewithin you.
Home is indeed where the heartis.

(06:09):
I guarantee you, if you findyour heart, you'll find your
home.
Thank you, as always, for beinghere, for being part of this
journey, and for lettinglistening ears into your home.

(06:32):
Let's continue being there foreach other, nurturing our inner
homes, and growing together.
Until next time, stay inspired.

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
