In this episode, Sara and Joe talk about their long-distance relationship and how they manage it, what they’ve learned and some practical tips for people going through the same situation. It’s always wonderful to be together, but it’s equally important to put effort into the relationship when you’re apart. As Sara and Joe reiterate: Put the work in. It’s worth it. Here are a few of their tips that make the love feel ongoing even when you’re not physically together: 1.Create space and time for the other person. Check-in frequently. Joe sends Sara a text each morning that she then wakes up to and feels the love. Joe points out to go the distance. If that flight to get to see the person is interfering with another obligation, you work it out and get to your partner in one way or another. 2.Consistency. This is a good tip for everyone. Long distance or not. Be conscious of reassuring the other person you are there for them and what you feel for them. Be consistent in your actions. 3.Leave the past in the past. There is no need to bring the past up in the current relationship space. Use the time together for you both in the present moment. Each visit is special. Do your own special reminders that keep you surrounded by the person when you’re not together. Joe has photos dating back to 1991! Come up with your own ways to keep the person with you even when they’re not there. Eventually, things may workout where long-distance isn’t necessary anymore and you can be together. Here’s to love surviving in all different ways! IG:https://www.instagram.com/saraschultingkranz/ Youtube:https://www.youtube.com/@saraschultingkranz./about Learn more about your ad choices. Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
