Why are emotions framed as #positive and #negative ?


Every time I feel the tears coming up, I feel a rush of shame coming up behind them, that sort of snaps the water back into the back of my mind. Is this normal? I learned how to be strong but now I have to re-parent myself and learn that tears aren't tied to sadness, they are tied to release.
