Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey there and welcome
back to the Live Life
Unapologetically podcast.
I am Shannon and I'm so excitedfor today's episode because
we're going to hyper-focus intobusiness ownership for women and
, honestly, every manifesterneeds to hear that manifesting a
successful business isn't basedon exhausted efforts.
(00:21):
Now, if you're not in abusiness or starting a business,
you may wonder if this episodeis for you.
Stick around, because you canuse this in your career Also.
Stick around if you've beenthinking about starting a
business, maybe getting out ofthe nine to five, just creating
a life that feels better to you, where you can put your passions
(00:43):
to better work and betterefforts.
Maybe this will ignitesomething in you.
Maybe you've held back on goingall in on a passion project,
which I say business, butpassion project, our businesses
should come from our passion, from our hearts.
But stick around.
Maybe this will give you thatpush that you need to start the
(01:06):
business in your heart, to movedifferently within the financial
system, because maybe it justseemed overwhelming, but that's
why we're going to talk abouthow manifesting the successful
business isn't based on theexhausted efforts, because I
think that is very much outthere in the world, in society,
really how hard it is to besuccessful on your own, without
(01:31):
being dependent on a bigcorporation.
I think, now more than ever, women should be generating
income in a way that feels goodto them, outside of systems that
really weren't built for them.
So let me ask you this Are youconstantly feeling like you need
to do more to earn more in yourbusiness?
(01:52):
Do you catch yourself chasingcustomers, chasing sales, or
chasing success instead ofallowing it to come to you?
If you're nodding along, you'renot alone, and that's because
society has taught us thathustle is the only way to
success.
The truth is, though, thatmanifesting a successful
business is not about workingharder.
(02:13):
As with anything in manifesting, it's about aligning with
abundance in a way that feelsgood to you.
So today, we're going to debunkthe myth that you have to
exhaust yourself to besuccessful.
We're going to explore howresentment and burnout actually
block the flow of money, andwe're going to dive into how we
(02:34):
can use manifestation to build abusiness that supports you, not
drains you.
So a really big misconceptionwhen you're going to start a
business, when you have abusiness, when you've gone on an
entrepreneurship journey, isthat you have to do more to earn
more.
Now this belief has beendrilled into us for as long as
(02:55):
we can remember, and it'sespecially harmful to women
business owners, because many ofus are already doing so much
for our families, ourcommunities and everyone around
us.
So this idea that you have tohustle even harder to see
success just the thought aloneis exhausting and it's an
unsustainable model of how toapproach your business.
(03:18):
The reality is, success isn'tabout how much you do.
It's about the energy you'reputting behind what you do.
If you're constantly in a stateof stress, overwhelm and
exhaustion, that energy is goingto reflect in your business and
that energy does not attractabundance.
There's also a big trap that Isee with business owners and
(03:42):
that's the fear of missing out,and this kind of really goes
into hustle culture that if Idon't post every day, I'm going
to lose customers.
If I'm not available 24 hours aday, seven days a week, I'll
miss a sale.
If I don't try every newstrategy, my business won't grow
.
This fear also leads to chasingchasing customers, chasing
(04:05):
opportunities, chasing money Inmanifestation.
We do not chase, we attract.
What is the point of starting abusiness if you're going to
work even more and lose out onso much more life than if you
had just stayed at yournine-to-five job.
What's the point?
Facing creates like a desperateenergy and that pushes you
(04:30):
further away from what you'retrying to have.
Manifestation is aboutalignment.
I can't say that enough.
You have to trust that theuniverse is working with you to
bring the right opportunities, clients and sales for your
business.
Part strategy, but it's moremindset.
(04:50):
We have these fears that youhave to continue to do more and
more and work constantly.
You also see the pop-up ofpassive income, quick money.
These things feed on what wereally want, and we'll talk
about our why here in a second.
But these things feed on whatwe really want, right?
We really do want money thatcomes with ease.
(05:14):
We want money that doesn't burnus the fuck out.
Take a moment to really go backto the beginning.
Why did you start your businessin the first place?
And if you haven't started abusiness, why have you pondered
starting a business or workingfor yourself?
For most women, it's not justabout making money.
(05:37):
It's about creating freedom thefreedom to live on your terms,
to spend time with your family,to pursue your passions or to
simply enjoy the fruits of yourlabor.
I can't tell you how many womenthat I work with who say I
don't even want more.
I just don't like the grind, the burnout of the current job I
(06:03):
have in the field that I have.
If I could take that money andmake the same amount of money
but work from home or workhybrid or have the say-so over
my time, that I can choose whatto do with my time and still
make that money, I am so withthat.
The irony is, though, that ifyou start a business, or you're
(06:24):
contemplating about it andthinking everything that's going
to have to go into it, then youhustle so hard that you're too
exhausted to enjoy life.
Anyway, you create a businessthat's just another version of
the nine to five grind, or worse, because maybe you're working
from the time you get up to thetime you go to bed.
I was working with a client overthe past couple weeks.
(06:45):
She did the intensive manifest, she coaching, and we were going
into this and we go through alldifferent things, and we
settled on her business, and shereally wanted to work in a way
that felt good to her, where shecould do things with her
children, to do the things thatshe enjoyed, and she was in a
space where she thought oh, if Iget to a certain point, then I
(07:06):
can have time for all that and Ithink that's a big thing going
into business, making a stepback, and I will be able to then
enjoy the fruits of my labor.
(07:27):
But I have to suffer through inthe beginning to make it work.
I always say how you build yourbusiness is how your business
will continue to be.
You have to build it how youwant it.
From jump street Now you'llfind more clarity along the way
and things you like to do,things you wanna add, you're
gonna have more creative ideas.
(07:49):
But what I'm saying is, if youbuild your business with this
going 24 seven, that from thetime you wake up to the time you
go to bed, that really doesn'tfeel good, thinking there's some
pot of gold at the end of therainbow, and if you just exhaust
yourself for a year or a fewyears, well, it's going to pay
(08:12):
off in the end.
No-transcript.
Hard work does not pay off.
We see glaring examples of thisin our society today.
We see people working hard attwo or three jobs and they're
not getting ahead, but they'reworking hard.
(08:32):
So why isn't it paying off?
We see other people who getinheritances, generational
wealth and they don't reallywork hard.
They pretend they're important, they pretend they do great
things, but they don't work hard.
They do what the heck they wantto do with their time.
They're not grinding from thattime they wake up to the time
(08:56):
they go to bed.
And that kind of brings me toanother point, which is many
times it's like if you want tobe a successful millionaire, you
have to have the habits thatsuccessful millionaires have,
and these successfulmillionaires do this five-step
process in the morning and theygo through this and do this in
their day.
Maybe that works for men, butof all the things I've seen, it
(09:17):
really doesn't work for women.
And if you're going to make itwork for women, it better work
after the kids are grown up andyou have more free time on your
hands, because most of these, you know, millionaire habits are
created by men, for men, in apatriarchal system that benefits
men.
That goes to habits that fittheir life and how they function
(09:40):
in society.
Their life and how theyfunction in society.
You tell me a mom with littlekids is going to be able to get
up and meditate and read aninspirational book and work out
for an hour and make a reallygreat breakfast for herself.
Before she looks at her littleto-do list and does her
whatever's for the day Nothappening, she's going to get up
(10:01):
and feed kids and hopefully getherself together.
I remember those mornings wherethere's just not enough time in
the morning.
I want us to really reframe thisconversation because once again
, women, we go through lifedifferently and these systems
really weren't created tosupport our desires, our
(10:21):
passions, our businesses.
We need to move out of that andchange the narrative.
You know, I had this revelationthis week, last week, about the
fact that we need to stoptrying to change systems and
start creating our own systems.
Why are we pushing againstbrick walls and beating on them,
trying to get in, to changethings?
(10:44):
Why don't we just step away andcreate systems that work for us
?
And if you use manifestation inyour business, for your
business, as a driving force toyour business, you can create a
system where you can do what youlove and enjoy it, become
wealthy, make money at it,without having to exhaust
(11:06):
yourself.
We insert ourselves intosystems we don't even like that,
we don't even want to be a partof.
We start businesses so we don'thave to be in the nine to five,
so that we don't have to be atthe whims of other people.
So we have to create somethingnew, and manifestation is about
creation.
It is about creating notcreating within something that
(11:29):
boxes you in, but actually justcreating with no limit.
Ask yourself if you're buildinga business that supports the
life you want, or are youbuilding a business that's
draining the joy out of yourlife?
If you're burning yourself out, you're not just risking your
health or happiness, but you'reblocking the flow of abundance,
(11:51):
Because resentment andexhaustion create resistance,
and resistance blocksmanifestation.
Burnout and stress haltcreativity in its path.
When you're so worn down, you're not creative.
When you're exhausted, you'renot creative.
I just want you to think aboutyour day-to-day life as it is
(12:12):
now.
When are you feeling the mostinspired and the most creative?
Is it when you're exhausted orwhen you're refreshed, when
you're relaxed?
How many times do we say, oh mygosh, I was just, you know,
sitting outside, enjoying a niceiced tea or wine whatever works
for you sitting on the porch, just relaxing, enjoying nature,
(12:33):
and this brilliant idea came tome your most brilliant ideas for
your creation come when you'rerelaxed, and to have a thriving
business, you need a creativebusiness, something that you're
creating, and you're creating iton your terms.
So let's talk about how do weflip this script, because we
really are stuck in this box.
(12:54):
How do we manifest successwithout overworking?
The first thing you have to dois align with your desire.
Manifestation starts withclarity.
What does a successful businesslook like for you?
Is it hitting a specificrevenue goal?
Is it only working 20 hours aweek?
Is it having the freedom totravel and go when you want?
You have to get very clear onwhat you want and why you want
(13:15):
it, and when I was working withmy client doing the intensive,
she was focused on her business.
I asked her, you know, towardsthe end, like what has really
resonated with you so far duringthis process that we're working
through, and she said it wasthe clarity.
She got so clear on what it wasshe wanted from her business,
not only with revenue, but howit fit into her life and what
(13:36):
that meant to her.
So you have to get really clearon what you want and why you
want it.
Then you have to set boundariesthat feel good.
You do not have to doeverything and you don't have to
be everywhere.
I'm just going to say it,because obviously, with the
TikTok ban and everythinghappening with social media, I
(13:57):
had this revelation like I wantto be where I feel good on
Instagram, but not really.
Instagram doesn't feel like thebest place and it never really
has to me.
If I'm going to be honest, I'vealways loved TikTok.
I'm getting into YouTube now.
I'm on Blue Sky now because Inever did the Twitter thing, but
I'm on Blue Sky Pinterest.
Those are really where I'mfocusing my efforts.
(14:19):
I focus so much effort onInstagram for so long for what I
don't know.
It just never felt aligned tome.
I don't know.
I'm still like am I going to goback and do it, am I not?
I don't know, but right now I'mnot there.
I haven't been because I'm justnot participating in meta right
now.
But that aligns to my values.
And that's another thing.
(14:41):
Like going through the processand the coaching with my clients
, like we look at values.
That doesn't align with myvalue.
But everybody will say you haveto be on Instagram and Facebook
and TikTok and YouTube and thisand that and the other thing to
have a successful business, butyou don't have to do everything
and you don't have to beeverywhere.
(15:01):
It needs to align to what youvalue, and right now, using
Metaproducts does not align towhat I value, so I have not been
using them.
Boundaries around your time andenergy and trust that the
universe is going to bring theright clients and opportunities
to you, even if you're not on24-7, including social media,
then you need to trust theuniverse to partner with you.
And let me go back real quickwhen I'm talking about setting
boundaries that feel goodBecause, like I said, business
(15:24):
is strategy, but it's moremindset.
I am places.
I don't feel like I have to beeverywhere.
I'm not going to just be oneplace.
Right, I've never just been oneplace.
We saw that with TikTokcreators, who that's all that
they had, so it was even moredevastating for them.
So strategy says don't just beone place, especially when you
don't own that place.
But I go through owning yourown digital landscape with the
(15:46):
people that I coach.
Don't just be one place, butyou don't have to be every place
and you don't have to be on 24seven.
If you miss a day of posting.
It's not the end of thefreaking world Now some people
make you think it is, but it'snot.
Trust the universe to partnerwith you.
That's number three is toreally just trust that the
universe is going to partnerwith you for business success,
that you are really not doing itall by yourself.
You're co-creating with theuniverse.
(16:07):
That means taking inspiredaction but then releasing
control and letting the universedo its part.
Like I just found something inmy business that really allows
for me to be creative.
It feels so freaking good to meand there is some strategy
behind it and I'm working onthat.
It's something new I learned,but it's so creative.
But I know that the universe isgonna do its part on its end.
(16:28):
Focus on the energy that you'reputting out.
So that's the next thing I wantyou to do is focus on the
energy you're putting outInstead of asking yourself what
more can I do?
Ask how can I align withabundance today.
Instead of saying, well, whatmore do I need to do, what do I
need to add, ask yourself, howcan you align with abundance?
When I first started this, Ijust wanted to podcast,
encourage people, and I haveother things going on, but I was
(16:50):
like I just want toconsistently drop a podcast
episode every single Wednesdayand it aligned me to abundance.
That's it.
But I didn't drop a podcast andblog and upload long form to
YouTube, like, once again, notbeing everywhere.
That's how much more can I do.
I just did my podcast to startwith.
Now I've added other thingsbecause it feels good and I have
(17:10):
more time, and that's fine, butit's not because I felt like I
had to.
I do things because I want toLike.
I do blog because, if anybodyknows me, I love to write.
So I do blog.
But I just podcast at firstbecause I liked that the best Do
what aligns not only withabundance but with your
happiness, because when you'redoing something that makes you
(17:30):
happy, you're aligning withabundance.
Remember practicing gratitude, doing some visualization, taking
a simple break and focus onmaintaining that high vibe.
And when I say maintaining thehigh vibe, that means doing and
giving your energy to thingsthat make you feel good and also
(17:51):
grow your business.
So for me it was podcasting.
Now it is blogging andpodcasting.
I write books, I do things, butthey feel good to me and
because they feel good to me, Ihave the high vibrational energy
when I'm in those creativetasks.
Lastly, redefine productivity, because productivity is not
(18:11):
about how much you do.
It's about how aligned you areto your actions.
So one aligned action can domore for your business in one
week than hustling in the wrongdirection.
Once again, going back to, Istarted with my podcast, then I
got back into blogging, now I'mdoing the Manifest she magazine,
which is a free magazine thatcomes out every single month.
(18:33):
You can get it in the showdescription.
That comes out every singlemonth.
You can get it in the showdescription.
But it's completely free andit's a full on Ask Magazine.
But that is aligned to what Iwanna do, because I really truly
have a goal this year ofinspiring as many women as
possible to manifest as much aspossible.
So there's no gatekeeping.
(18:55):
I was never a gatekeeper anyway, but there's no gatekeeping.
I was never a gatekeeper anyway, but there's no gatekeeping.
You get articles, exercises,challenges.
There's an ask she sectionwhere you can submit your
question, kind of like a youknow dear Abby, but for
manifestation.
But that's an aligned action.
But I didn't do it because Ifelt like I had to.
I did it because it was aligned, I did it because it was
(19:17):
inspired.
So don't do things just to dothings, do things for alignment.
So here's just a quick exercisethat we're going to go into for
you this week so that you canalign with abundance in your
business.
I want you to close your eyesand visualize.
Are you ready?
Like we're going to do thishere and now?
If you're listening to thepodcast in your car, then you're
(19:39):
going to have to come back anddo this when you're in a place
that's safe to do this.
But I want you to close youreyes and visualize.
I want you to imagine yourbusiness as the successful,
thriving entity you want it tobe.
See the clients, see the sales, see the freedom to live your
(20:05):
life in a way that feels good toyou, see the joy.
As you're seeing this, keepingyour eyes closed, imagining and
visualizing this, I want you tofeel the energy of success.
How are you feeling?
Having a business that supportsyou?
(20:27):
Let that feeling expand in yourheart.
You are seeing your businessand now you are feeling into it.
Keep going, keep thatvisualization, keep that feeling
(21:14):
.
See it.
Feel it as many times as youneed during the day.
I want you to do thatvisualization feeling exercise
Beyond just seeing it.
Feel yourself in that moment.
As you go, I want you to affirmdesires, create affirmations
(21:35):
that are specific to you, or youcan use affirmations like my
business attracts abundanceeffortlessly.
I align with clients who valuemy energy and work.
Success flows to me in waysthat feel good, and I want you
to take one inspired action.
(22:01):
You to take one inspired action.
What's one thing you can dotoday that feels aligned with
that vision and that feeling?
And then do it.
Don't forget to subscribe tothe Manifest she magazine,
because it is packed with tips, strategies, inspiration to align
you on your journey, not justyour business journey, but your
manifestation journey as a whole.
When you subscribe, you'rejoining a community of
(22:22):
like-minded women who arebuilding success on their terms.
I'm going to link that in theshow notes.
Remember that manifesting asuccessful business is not about
working harder.
It is about aligning withabundance, trusting the universe
and creating a business thatsupports you, not drains you.
(22:43):
You've got this and I will chatwith you next week.
