If you’ve been trying to manifest wealth in your business but keep hitting roadblocks, you’re not alone. You’ve likely been told that it’s all about a scarcity mindset, but that may not be it—scarcity may not be what is holding you back. In fact, it’s probably not even your biggest block.

In this episode, I’m breaking down the four biggest money blocks that are silently keeping women business owners stuck:

  • The Worth Block – Struggling to charge your worth? This block keeps women underpricing and over-delivering.
  • The Hustle Block – Thinking success only comes from grinding yourself into exhaustion? This one’s for you.
  • The Comparison Block – Feeling like you’re falling behind? Comparing your journey to others is a silent wealth killer.
  • The Stay in Your Place Block – Generational conditioning has told women to shrink, stay small, and not want “too much.” It’s time to break free.

What you’ll learn in this episode:

  • Why money blocks are about more than just money—they reflect what you believe about yourself.
  • The hidden history behind why women are conditioned to stay small (and how to break the cycle).
  • How to release limiting beliefs so you can stop struggling and start receiving.
  • A deep dive into the historical suppression of women’s power—and how understanding it can help you unlock true abundance.

This episode is a wake-up call. If you’ve been stuck, it’s time to shift the narrative and reclaim your wealth, power, and success.

It’s time to break free from hidden money blocks and step into your full financial power. Tune in now!

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey guys and welcome back to the Live Life at
Apologetically podcast.
I'm Shannon and today we'rediving into something that every
woman business owner needs tohear, and that's the four money
blocks that are hurting yourbusiness.
If you have been trying tomanifest more wealth in your
business, to grow your business, but you feel stuck, frustrated
or like you're spinning yourwheels, you've probably heard

(00:20):
the same tired advice over andover again that it's just a
scarcity mindset and that youneed to believe that there is
more than enough money to goaround.
What exactly is the scarcitymindset?
It is one that is rooted inlack.
The scarcity mindset says thatthere's one pie and that
everybody has to get from thesame pie.

(00:41):
So if somebody has a really bigslice, then your slice is going
to be smaller.
We see that today with oh, thebillionaires are hoarding all
the wealth and if they justrelease some of their wealth, I
could have mine too.
Like that is scarcity mindsetthat there's a limited amount.
When we manifest, we know thatthere is more than enough.
It doesn't matter who holdswhat, because there's always

(01:02):
more.
We can have scarcity mindsetuntil we learn to get over it,
which most women do, especiallywomen who are manifesting
businesses.
I haven't worked with one womanwho's manifested a business
that was like I'm going to havea successful business as soon as
the billionaires release somemoney.
That's not it.
They truly believe that theycan manifest wealth from

(01:23):
themselves, from the universe,with co-creation.
They don't believe that lack.
But there's other mindsets thatdo hold women back that we
don't talk about.
So scarcity can be a block, butit's really not the only one.
It just happens to be the onethat seems to be defaulted to
anytime we're stuck somewhere.

(01:45):
I think it's because it's justthe most popular one.
I feel like it is the easiestone for coaches to say that you
just have scarcity to honestlyget you to buy their program or
do their thing because they'relike no, you have the money for
my program.
And if you say you don't,that's just a scarcity mindset,
like we just all money blockingmindsets, we just think, oh,
scarcity, and I think that'svery harmful.

(02:08):
I think it's harmful and I kindof think it's lazy work.
If I'm going to be honest, noteven kind of that's lazy work,
like let's really see what'sholding you back.
And as a manifestation coach,I'm not going to sit here and
just talk about scarcity.
I mean, we can talk about it.
It is a thing, but it's not theonly thing.
In fact, I see so many womenwho have done all the mindset

(02:29):
work around scarcity, theaffirmations, the visualization,
the abundance journaling, andthey're still stuck.
That's because most of themoney blocks that women business
owners face aren't aboutbelieving in lack.
So today we're going to godeeper.
I'm breaking down the fourbiggest money blocks that are
keeping women business ownersfrom stepping into true

(02:50):
financial success and how tofinally shift them.
I want you to grab yourfavorite drink, settle in and
let's start rewriting your moneystory.
Money blocks aren't just aboutwhat you believe about money.
They're about what you believeabout yourself.
Now, that was a mouthful, soI'm going to say that again.
Money blocks aren't just aboutwhat you believe about money.

(03:13):
They're about what you believeabout yourself.
They show up as hesitation toraise your prices, feeling like
you need to earn wealth throughstruggle, comparing your success
to others and feeling behindshrinking your financial goals
because you don't earn wealththrough struggle, comparing your
success to others and feelingbehind shrinking your financial
goals because you don't want toseem greedy.
These aren't just thoughtsabout money.

(03:33):
They're reflections ofself-worth, societal
conditioning and deep-seatedfears around success.
Let's get into the blocks thathave nothing to do with your
view on money, but everythingabout your view on yourself.
I want you to remember, beforewe start talking about this,

(03:53):
that your limiting beliefsbecause that's all a block is
it's a limiting belief.
I've said it before and I willsay it again A limiting belief
is simply a belief that nolonger serves you.
It was something that wastaught to you, programmed into
you, usually in childhood, andyou've been carrying it, but
it's just not serving you.
It doesn't mean you'redefective or that there's
something wrong with you.
It just means this belief nolonger works for me.

(04:16):
So it's limiting me and I'mgoing to move on to something
that opens me up to limitlessopportunities.
I want you to have that in yourmind as we go through talking
about these blocks, showingyourself compassion and seeing
which ones you identify with, not as a part of you that is
defective, but just as a part ofyou that you can grow and

(04:38):
that's it.
So I really want you to hold onto that, because I also don't
believe in shame.
Do not take on shame like yousuck in some way.
I don't like that.
I don't do that around here.
So let's get into these blocks, within mind that you love
yourself and these are justbeliefs that no longer serve you
and that you can change them.

(04:58):
So the first one is the worthblock, and that's a.
Am I really good enough tocharge that much?
Am I really good enough tocharge that much?
Am I really good enough to havethis business?
Any of the am I good enough?
Thoughts that you might haveand this is one of the most
damaging money blocks that womenface.
How often are you secondguessing your prices, feeling
nervous about charging yourworth or just over delivering

(05:21):
because you feel like you haveto prove a value, just over
delivering, because you feellike you have to prove a value?
This may come up in stoppingyou from even moving forward or
putting yourself out there.
A lot of women entrepreneursfeel like you have to justify
your pricing.
You have to offer discountsbefore anybody asks.
You have to overload yourservices.
You have to avoid premium ratebecause you don't feel worthy of

(05:42):
it.
You can't receive it becauseyou're putting yourself in this
perfection category and we talkabout perfectionism around here
too, because that's a myth and alie, but it's definitely
something that's beenconditioned into women.
It's been conditioned intowomen that you're not worth the
big bucks, no matter what you do.
We see this in society becausemen get paid more than women for

(06:05):
doing the same job.
I'm going to be honest with you.
I worked in a woman-dominatedfield and men got paid more for
doing the least, but women hadto work so hard and just never
could get there.
Like the men who did the leastgot the promotions.
The mediocre men got to move upand the women were just stuck

(06:25):
there working themselves todeath 70 hours a week helping
the men around them.
But the men would get promoted.
This goes to your worth, liketrying to earn something.
And why am I not worthy of thatpromotion?
Why am I not worthy of thatmoney?
And so, from a careerstandpoint because many of us
have careers before we start ourown businesses we have this

(06:47):
mindset of worth and trying toprove our worth and going above
and beyond.
But we don't have to do thatand it's a worth block that
really slows down thatmanifestation of wealth.
What I need you to hear, when itcomes to your worth, is that
your pricing what you get paid, the amount of money that you
bring in and receive.

(07:08):
It's not about you.
It's about the transformationyou provide and you don't have
to be perfect for it, and it cancome from many places.
That's a whole otherconversation and maybe we'll go
into a couple different episodeson each of these more in detail
, but I just want you to have anidea that this could be
blocking you.
So if you ever thought who areyou to charge this, I need you

(07:31):
to flip that and say what is thevalue of the transformation I
provide?
What is that worth?
What is the transformationworth?
I need you to track the resultsthat you're getting for your
clients through your products,your services.
Stop discounting your pricesout of guilt.
I am working with a new clientright now.
We are building her businessfrom the ground up.
It's really fun and exciting.

(07:51):
I love it when we do ground upbuilding.
That's my favorite thing to do.
She's like well, I probablyshould discount because it's my
first ground of providing theseproducts and she's going no,
we've had many conversations.
You don't undervalue yourselfbecause you're selling something
for the first time.
Like she has been doing thiswork for basically her whole

(08:14):
life, y'all.
Like it's baking and she'salways been somebody who loves
baking, from the time she couldbake.
Like you've always been doingthis.
Now you're just selling it, soyou don't have to prove anything
because you're now using it asa business and moving past as
like, basically a hobby, likeyou don't have to do that.
You know what you're doing.
You've been doing this.
You've been discountingyourself your whole life, giving

(08:36):
it to family and friends andpeople you love for free, your
entire life.
You have value.
So I want you to also remindyourself that wealth flows where
value is created and youprovide that value.
Now the next one gosh, this isso big, especially for women in
their 30s 40s.
Guys, I know you're with me onthis because we grew up like

(08:57):
this.
Like I don't see this so muchin my daughters a little bit
Like I see it.
I see it a little bit more inmy oldest daughter versus my
youngest daughter, and that'sjust how generations and
societal programming works.
But this block is the hustleblock that success can only come
through grinding yourself intoexhaustion.
That's another one that theabove and beyond right.
This one runs deep, especiallyfor older women who are starting

(09:21):
businesses, because we've beentaught that hard work is the
only way to success and societyglorified burnout as a badge of
honor when we were coming up.
And if you're not constantlygrinding, it can feel like
you're not doing enough.
I'm going to be honest with you.
I see women coaches and womenin business who still have this
block and they're teaching otherwomen to continue this, that

(09:44):
they're saying why are yousleeping, why are you watching
TV?
You're not being productive andthey're still teaching this.
So this is definitely a blockthat is still prevalent.
I feel like it's just moreprevalent for our generations
because it's still happening.
And this belief is dangerousfor women entrepreneurs because
we already do so much for ourfamilies, for our clients, for

(10:06):
our businesses and yet weconvince ourselves that more
work is going to equal moremoney.
But money doesn't come fromexhaustion.
It comes from alignment.
I don't even know I've beendoing so much content lately,
guys.
Sorry, I'm trying to keep up.
I don't know if it was a blog,I don't.
I think it was part of thepodcast last week.
I've been doing so much.

(10:28):
I've just been feeling verycreative lately and very
inspired.
But that goes back to yourcreation versus your obligation,
right Money?
It comes from alignment andalignment comes from being in
creation.
I'm in.
Creation happens so very easily, like writing this podcast,
writing my blogs, like all ofthat stuff in no time at all.
It just flows right on out ofme very quickly.

(10:49):
So I've been in creation andthis has really been on my heart
and it really goes to this likehustle, block, just hustling
and doing tasks is not going togive you more money.
We talked about this on anotherpost or another podcast I know
for sure it was a podcast, not ablog but on another podcast
about how you need to build yourbusiness the way you want it to
be, because, however you buildit, that's how it's going to be,

(11:10):
and so you need to build analignment for the life you want.
Do you really want to work 24-7all the time?
If you're always working butyou never see big financial
returns, that's your sign youdon't need to do more.
It's your sign that you need toshift how you work.
This is very important and Iknow some people are so scared,
like there's this big fear, likea fear of missing out on

(11:32):
clients, a fear of missing outon the next big sale or the next
big connection.
You're not going to miss out,and maybe you're like Shannon I
am seeing big financial returns, but if I slow down they're
going to stop.
That's still a hustle block, like we need to align so that
you can still have the flow ofwealth without burnout and

(11:52):
exhaustion and overwhelm.
To do this, you have toredefine success.
What if it's not about morework but more impact?
Shift from the how much morecan I do to how can I create
bigger results while workingless and then start trusting
that rest doesn't slow you down,it makes you more magnetic to
wealth.
When I tell you I've been insuch a creation mode, that's

(12:12):
because I allow myself to rest alot.
The more rested I am, the moreI'm in boredom, the more I'm
just in flow and ease instead ofhustle and grind.
The more ideas come to me, themore inspiration comes to me.
It makes you more magnetic forwealth to flow to you because
you're in creation and when wecreate we bring in the frequency

(12:35):
of wealth.
The third block is thecomparison block, and I see this
so much with women, especiallywomen who are starting their
businesses, and or older womenlike myself.
Am I older?
I don't like saying I'm anolder woman.
I'm in my 40s, but women of myage group, millennial women like
I, should be further along bynow.

(12:57):
So if you've ever scrolledthrough social media and you're
wondering to yourself like, whyis everybody else crushing it
and I'm still struggling, thenthis one's for you, because
comparison is a silent wealthblocker.
When you measure your successagainst somebody else's
highlight reels, againstsomebody else's timelines, you
stop recognizing your ownprogress, you feel like you're

(13:18):
behind, even though you'regrowing, and you make these
decisions about your businessfrom desperation instead of
alignment.
There is no universal timelinefor success, but when we get
into comparison mode, we startjudging ourselves.
But when we get into comparisonmode, we start judging
ourselves.
We start bringing in doubt toourself Because what we believe

(13:39):
about ourselves is an alignmentto wealth.
I'm going to go back to what Itold you when we first started
Money blocks aren't just aboutwhat you believe about money.
They're about what you believeabout yourself.
So if you're comparing yourself, then you are bringing in
doubts about yourself and that'swhat you believe.
And now there's a money block.

(14:00):
Every time you compare yourselfto somebody else, you're
judging your beginning againsttheir middle and I always think
how can we compare anyway?
There's so many variables ineverybody's lives, like we just
don't know.
You see the highlight reels.
You don't know how long thatperson's been working on it.
They could have been working onit for 10 years, but they act
like they just started ityesterday.
You don't know, we don't know.

(14:22):
We have got to stop thecomparison game.
I am reading a book.
It's funny.
I was talking to my daughterabout this.
We were just talking aboutdifferent things and I've read
two books recently.
Take it how you Will, but Italking about different things
and I've read two books recently.
Take it how you will, but Icall them women's history.
They're women's history books.
One is Waking the Witch and theother one is Healing Witch

(14:44):
Wounds.
If you read these books, theyreally are history books.
They talk about art.
They talk about how women weredemonized, how the community of
women was separated, how we gotto this place of not being in
sisterhood, all through dogmasabout being witches when that
wasn't even the case.
And it goes through all kindsof history.

(15:06):
Both of these books I say it iswomen's history because if you
look at the history of witchesand how they are treated, you
will see the history of pushingdown women, the history of the
patriarchy and how that was usedto establish the patriarchy, to
keep women small and subduedand separated from each other.
Very powerful read.

(15:27):
These are women history booksthat show you how and where we
are today when it comes tocomparison.
You how and where we are todaywhen it comes to comparison.
And the reason I'm saying thisis me and my daughter were
talking.
We were talking about communityof women and women's support.
What you learn from these booksis that women used to spend most
of their time with each otherand they weren't isolated to
their spouses and they hadcommunity, true community, where

(15:51):
they weren't competing witheach other.
They used the idea ofwitchcraft and that women
together was just way too witchy.
To break that up and to makewomen scared to come together, I
feel like is where we get a lotof comparison, because for
generations and generations andgenerations, we've been taught
to stay separate from otherwomen and through that

(16:13):
separation there comescomparison.
Should I be like her?
I can't commune with her.
Do you see where I'm going withthis?
Like?
There's this comparison and itcreated the comparison block,
because that's not how ourhistory is.
We were communal and supportiveof each other, so there wasn't
a need for comparison.
Everybody just flowed in theirgifts.

(16:34):
But now there is a comparisonblock and it is a silent wealth
blocker because it's aseparation and when you go into
comparison you go into isolation.
So every time you compareyourself against somebody,
you're isolating yourself, you're demeaning yourself and
you're telling yourself you'reless than You're not as good,
someone is better, and that canbe one of the biggest and most

(16:58):
silent wealth blockers there is.
So start tracking your wins, every sale, every breakthrough,
every lesson.
I want you to unfollow our muteaccounts that trigger
self-doubt and find community, trusting that your journey is
unfolding exactly as it should, finding the community of people
who will support you, just tosupport you.
I made a post about thisbecause, yeah, when I tell you,

(17:21):
I've just been so inspired.
I made a post basically sayingwe do need that community, like,
if I know somebody who can helpyou, I'm going to promote that
person, because this comparisonof competition also keeps us
isolated and then we don'tpromote other people out of fear
because of comparison.
I'm going to always promoteJenna for Magic Marketing
Machine, if you want to knowabout social media marketing,

(17:43):
because she's fantastic.
I'm not the end-all, be-all togrowing your business and I
don't feel competition with her,not just because I don't do
social media marketing, but evenif I did like, she's superior
and that's fine.
Let her gift shine.
We need to let go of that.
We need to understand we don'thave to be the end, all be all
and we don't have to compareourselves to other people.
The fourth block is the stay inyour place block, and this goes

(18:04):
back to those books that Irecommended.
I don't want to link them inthe description because they are
women's history, but it's thestay in yourplace block.
Be grateful for what you have, don't ask for more, be quiet, be
hidden, be isolated, becompletely dependent on a man.
Don't speak too much, don't saytoo much, or we're going to put
a label on you as a witch, which is bad, and go burn you at

(18:25):
the stake.
This is generational and thisis one of the biggest hidden
money blocks for women, becauseyou have been conditioned to be
humble and not take up too muchspace and not to want too much.
Be grateful for what you have, and wanting more is greedy and
success isn't for everyone, especially not women.
Success is for men.
This is generationalconditioning.
This keeps women shrinkingtheir dreams before they even

(18:49):
start.
Maybe you do want that bigthing, but you're like, no, I
gotta stay in my place.
So you shrink your dream beforeyou even start it.
Wanting more doesn't make youungrateful, it makes you
expansive, and we've been taughtnot to be expansive as women.
We really need to move pastthese blocks and they're hard
and we have to do introspection, and they make us look at things

(19:11):
that we probably don't want tolook at.
I have a lot of listeners fromall walks of life and I'm
telling you that you need toread the books Healing the Witch
Wound and Waking the Witch andsome of my listeners are gonna
be like, oh my God.
Literally go read your history, because the label of witch

(19:34):
whether you practice witchcraftor a Christian or a Muslim, it
doesn't really matter, I don'treally care what your beliefs
are, that's irrelevant to me.
Your beliefs are your beliefs.
Witchcraft was used as a wordagainst women, even if you
didn't practice it.
Witchcraft was used to harm us.
We need to understand ourhistory.

(19:56):
Really, wasn't planning ongoing here in this podcast.
It just needs to be said, because it was the beginning of
the label of being a witch thatpushed women so far down in
society and programmed us to notwant more, to stay in our place
and to be scared.

(20:16):
In one of the books it talksabout the history of the burning
times in Europe and whathappened during those times the
amount of horror that wasinflicted on everyday women just
for being women, labeling themas a witch.
And this stays just for beingwomen, labeling them as a witch.

(20:39):
And this stays generation aftergeneration.
How does that stay?
How is it imparted into you inyour childhood and through
beliefs Don't say too much, don't be too loud, don't speak
up.
Speak up, just a little, watchwhat you say.
All of those things in women'shistory started from places like
that.
It didn't matter what yourbeliefs were.
It did not matter because youknow what it wasn't about.
Are you a witch or are you aChristian or are you a whatever?

(21:02):
It started because you were awoman.
They put a label on women tomake them stay in their place
and to me, this is a huge blockfor women.
That is a money block.
No, it is not scarcity, it's a.
You have been conditioned forgenerations and generations to

(21:23):
stay in your place and thereforeyou cannot manifest to your
full potential because of thishidden block, because, in fact,
wealth allows you to supportcauses that matter, to create
opportunities for other, tochange your family's financial
future.
It is not about taking, it isabout creating.
But men would have you believeit is about taking, and they
went after women specifically Tobreak this block.

(21:45):
I truly feel like you need tounderstand how it came to be
through generations throughouthistory, but you also have to
give yourself permission to wantmore, to stop apologizing for
your ambition and to trust thatyour success benefits everyone
around you.
It hurts no one.
If you read these books, you'llsee how they tried to play off

(22:07):
the gifts of women as harmful, when actually they helped the
whole community around them.
Research it and don't be scaredof the word witch or witchcraft
, because that also holds youback, because they made it so
ugly and dirty that now youdon't even realize where this
whole conditioning of staying inyour place came from, because
you won't pick up that book thatteaches you how men did this

(22:30):
generations ago, because itwasn't always this way, and how
they used one term and distortedit throughout history.
Waking the Witch is really, really good if you want to go
into how this affected art, howthis affected writing I mean it
goes through it all how itaffects media, even today, from

(22:50):
back then until now.
It goes through every piece ofwhere this touched history for
women.
You don't have to believe inwitchcraft, but understand you
were created small using that asa method, not because of
witchcraft itself, but becauseyou were a woman.
I feel like this is justprobably the biggest block I see
with women, and this block ofstaying in your place and how

(23:16):
women were taught to be honestlyis the jumping point for the
comparison block.
It is the jumping point for thehustle block.
It is the jumping point for theworth block.
It is the jumping point for thescarcity mindset.
It was the removal andstripping of women's innate
power.
I'm going to go more into thesemindsets, probably individually.
I really encourage you to getthese books, to read women's

(23:39):
history, because even if youdon't practice witchcraft, if
you say I'm not a witch, itdoesn't matter because you as a
woman were targeted regardlessusing that word.
I was going to go through, likeyou know how to break your
money blocks and all that.
I think we're going to gothrough.
Like you know how to break yourmoney blocks and all that.
I think we're going to gothrough each one of these on
their own on later podcasts.

(24:01):
I really feel like yourexercise for this week should be
learning women's history,because women's history is
hidden in places that we're toldnot to look, like books about
witches.
Usually I would give some sortof this is how we move forward
manifestation advice, and maybeyou're like Shannon, that's all
I came here for, that's all Iwant.
But I feel like I would bedoing you a disservice if we

(24:24):
just really glossed over how wegot here.
The stay in your place block isa big one and we have to know
how did we get here as women?
So I'm going to link the twobooks that I talked about in the
description.
I encourage you to get them, Iencourage you to read them and I
encourage you to have an openmind, because it's the history
of women and the demonization ofwomen.
It went completely off scriptbecause you guys know I write

(24:46):
this, so I don't go off script, but I'm just going to go with
the flow.
And this is vulnerable for mebecause I typically don't talk
about certain books that I read, because there's so much
judgment that comes with it,because I don't even feel free
to say it in the world that welive in.
But I'm going to link both ofthese books because I believe

(25:09):
that they're important tounderstand this big block of
staying in your place and how itstarted, because it was not
always this way.
So how did it get this way?
And we need to know.
How did it get this way?
How did I get to feeling sosmall?
It's in our history.
We need to understand it so wecan overcome it.

(25:30):
It literally goes into thehealing women, the midwife women
, using herbs as medicine.
But that's all witchcraft,right?
We've been told that's allwitchcraft.
And then it was turned aroundand used to demonize women.
Something ugly and bad Womenhad the power.
New power was stripped.
When did that happen?
How that happened?
Go look through history.
And it really began happeningwith the demonization of women.

(25:53):
So I think that's important tounderstand for this wound, for
this block for us women, butthat women are so expansive and
so powerful that generations ofmen have demonized women to take
the power from them.
And once you realize that poweris in you and you wake up that

(26:14):
power, there's nothing you can'tmanifest, including your
business success.
So I'm gonna leave it at that, because I don't even know what
else to say.
Know that I love you.
I want the best for you.
I believe you're valuable.
I believe you're powerful.
I believe women need to rise inour creation, in our beauty, in
this magnificent way that wewere created, with all of our

(26:35):
gifts.
Wealth isn't about struggle.
It's about alignment.
Power isn't about oppression orsuppression, about lifting
other people up with you.
So we'll get back to ourregularly scheduled stuff next
week.
Abundance is yours.
Reconnect with your power.
I know you've got this and I'llsee you next week.
