(00:15):
Well, welcome to the Live toShoot podcast.
My name's Jeff Do, and I've beena licensed farm dealer for the
last 18 years.
This podcast we talk about.
All things related SecondAmendment anything else going on
in the world, a sports story oranything else I might find
interesting?
So, well howdy everybody.
In this episode we're gonna betalking about our God-Given
Rights Second Amendment.
Again, we're gonna dive intosome news.
(00:36):
We've had some victories in thecourt.
What's going on in the SupremeCourt and anything else that
might come up.
So let's start real quick withthe, some wins we've had in the
courts because those fights havebeen heating up.
So first we gotta give a shoutout to the Ninth Circuit Court
of Appeals.
Now that is hard thing for me tosay the ninth Circuit, but,
'cause we know how crazy theyare.
(00:57):
But on August 14th, theyfinalized a ruling on win versus
boda.
It's an NARA supported casethat's struck down.
California's ridiculous.
One gun a month law.
That's right.
The Golden State thought theycould tell the law abiding
citizens they could only buy onegun every 30 days.
But.
The Ninth Circuit even said notso fast and declared that a
violation of our secondamendment.
(01:18):
Imagine that that had to be hardcoming out of them.
This is huge.
It's the first time this courthas issued a judgment striking
down a law on Second Amendmentgrounds.
So big win.
But let's go to Florida.
We've got some major movementthere in an NRA versus glass.
Now get this, the state ofFlorida is now arguing that its
own law banning 18 to 20 yearolds from purchasing firearms is
(01:41):
unconstitutional.
Can you believe that Florida'sbasically waving the white flag
and saying, yeah.
We messed up.
That's even, they're even urgingthe Supreme Court to take up the
case and settle once and forall.
It's a big deal for our youngpatriots who deserve the right
to defend themselves.
And we've got other stories likethis, other cases kind of
floating around the US as well.
But if you remember this too,Florida, put this in place after
(02:03):
the Parkland shooting, and thisis one of the big, kind of black
marks on Pam Bondy's careerbecause she was involved in
that.
But you know, she's.
She's kind of stood up.
She's been doing things.
Now she's at the AttorneyGeneral, but we still gotta keep
an eye on her.
But this is a big win inFlorida.
Now here's one from the sixthcircuit.
They dropped a ruling that got,has people talking.
(02:24):
They had said that machine gunsare protected under the Second
Amendment.
Yeah, they said that, but theyupheld the ban because they're
supposedly dangerous andunusual.
So if it's protected, how dothey ban it?
Sounds some mental gymnastics tome, but so we've got that one.
So we're gonna have to keep aneye on what's going on with
(02:44):
that.
Every once in a while we'llthrow in, you know, a story and
I ran of, you know, somebodyactually using a firearm to, you
know, defend themselves, be ayou know, protect the other
citizens.
This one comes outta Maine fromthe NRA.
It was on August 18th.
A guy, chase down a, a suspectwho had just fatally, who had
just been fatally attacked usinga motorcycle.
(03:05):
He wasn't some vigilant, he wasa law abiding citizen stepping
up when it mattered most.
He used his firearm to pursueand hold, hold, stop at the
dangerous criminal.
That's right.
The second amendment's all aboutthat.
Good folks standing up andprotecting'em until the
authorities could get there, sokudos to him.
So now let's talk about what'sbeen going on with the Supreme
Court.
(03:25):
They have recently declined tohear challenges to gun control
laws in Maryland and RhodeIsland, which involve bans on
the so-called SEP assaultweapons and high capacity
magazines.
So don't panic.
Not yet.
Anyway, justice Thomas Ali, Owenand Gorsuch were ready to take
on the cases.
Kavanaugh hinted that the courtmight tackle the issue of AR 15
bans in the next term or two, sothe fight's not over and I.
(03:50):
Sometimes can't quite followwhat all goes on with the, the
Supreme Court.
We do have the majority we dohave some wishy-washy ones.
And sometimes they're justwaiting for that perfect case.
But I, I'm confident that herein their next, next term or the
following one, that they'regonna tackle some of these
bigger cases and start gettingsome.
(04:10):
Clear decisions on banningthings like the AR 15, quote
unquote, the assault weapons andhigh capacity magazines, and how
those are, are protected by theSecond Amendment.
So before we wrap up, you know, let's just, I wanna shout out
kudos, you know, to the, to thecourts to our citizens out
there, you know, protectingothers with the Second Amendment
(04:31):
and, you know, let's keep an eyeon the Supreme Court.
Until next week.
I.
You know, stay vigilant.
You know, we gotta keepfighting.
We've got good wind going on.
We've got a good administration.
We do.
Things seem to be going in theright direction.
But places like every town andthe Brady Group and all those
out there, they, they don't giveup.
They're gonna keep coming afterus.
(04:52):
There's a lot of blue states outthere that we gotta keep
fighting and, and winning overour Second Amendment rights.
So stay vigilant, fight, keepfighting, and I will talk to you
next week.
Have a good one.
