(00:16):
Well, welcome to the Live toShoot podcast.
My name is Jeff Doddle In thispodcast, we're here to cut
through the noise.
We call out all the nonsense, and then we stand for.
God-given rights.
We also talk about all thingsrelated to the Second Amendment,
as well as anything else goingon in the world, a sports story,
or anything else that I mightfind interesting.
So welcome, welcome, welcome.
So the first thing I do wannatalk about this week is the
(00:37):
masters.
It is the, my most favoritesporting event, bar none.
That can, beyond that.
I watch, I, I plant myself infront of the TV for really five
days, starting on Wednesday andstart watching it.
My wife is a saint.
She lets me do it.
She understands.
I have been trying to gettickets to go.
(00:58):
Never been able to go.
I applied for the lottery.
I think it's rigged.
I don't know.
I can't get in.
Don't know.
But and I'm not quite reallywilling to pay$2,000 for a
ticket right now.
I keep trying cross my fingersbut we will see.
So great event and, you know, gotta love a leaderboard.
(01:19):
I am a Scotty fan.
I'm a Rory fan.
I wouldn't mind even seeing if Ihad to having Bryson win as
well.
Justin Rose is a, is a, is anice guy, but right now it's
gonna be a great weekend.
So that's where you'll find mewhen I'm not doing this or I'm
not doing transfers or whatever.
So, but this week we've got bignews, big news things to talk
(01:44):
about.
First, let's talk about the newsoutta the Department of Justice.
A new Second Amendment taskforce is in the worst cash
Patel's been.
Booted out as an active A TFdirector and the Army Secretary
Daniel Driscoll's stepping intothe hot seat.
There's a lot to unpack, solet's get after it.
So, all right, let's start withthe good news because yeah,
there was some light in thestorm.
(02:05):
Attorney General Pam Bon isgetting together a Second
Amendment task force under theDOJ.
Now, if you're like me, youfirst thought, great.
More, more government meddlingwith our rights.
But hold on, that doesn't seemto be what it is.
Word is the task force is allabout actually enforcing our
second amendments, not chippingaway at them.
We're talking about pushing backagainst the gun grabbing
(02:26):
nonsense.
We've seen from the Biden yearsred flag laws, shady background
check overreach is, and the thatzero tolerance that was aiming
at honest Gun dealers like me.
But this seems to all bestemming from president Trump's
executive order about.
Defending the Second Amendment, and it looks like there's some
action going on.
In fact, the National ShootingSports Foundation has already
(02:47):
given their thumbs up sayingit's a sign of a, a quote,
resolve to protect the rights oflaw abiding citizens.
And I'll tell you what, afteryears of watching the a TF, like
a bunch of jack boots toing onour freedoms, it feels like at
least a breath, breath of freshair could be.
We've finally got some folks inDC who get it.
Time will tell.
But I'm cautiously optimistic.
I'm not necessarily looking overmy shoulder right now as an FFL,
(03:09):
but you never know that canchange.
So let me know.
Hit me up on X.
I wanna hear what you guysthought.
Now let's talk about the A TFand the shakeup going on there
because that's where it gets, itgets wild.
I'm not sure really of what tomake of all of it.
Cash Patel.
Yep.
The guy who's been kicked, who'sbeen kicking butt of the FBI
director, you know, I think he'snailed three of the top 10 most
(03:30):
wanted in, in, you know, thefirst two months.
He was tapped a while back topull, double duty his acting a
TF head.
I scratched my head over at thetime and I'll tell you what but
I was, I was pumped.
You know, cash is, he's abulldog, he's pro-gun, set it
pro-free and he's not afraid tocall out those deep state
clowns.
We've been trying to get disarm, but, gun owners of America has
(03:52):
even had, had him out to speak, and the guy has been crystal
clear.
He's on our side.
But here's his kicker, just afew weeks ago, a few weeks in
the gig, he's been removed asacting director.
No public fanfare, no bigexplanation.
I.
Poof.
Gone.
Replaced by who?
Army Secretary Daniel Driscoll.
Yeah, you heard that right?
The guy running the biggestbranch of our military with over
(04:15):
450,000 soldiers and$187 millionbudget is now also moonlighting
Is the ATFs interim.
What is the going on here?
I will tell you if this has beendone in the Biden
administration, red flags wouldbe flying up all over the place.
The army now in charge of, of,of attacking and going after gun
dealers and gun owners.
(04:35):
Would seem a little aggressive,but I'm, I'm holding my
opinions.
It says the official line fromthe DOJ is that pat that cash
was removed, had nothing to dowith his job performance.
White House mouthpiece HarrisonFields said it was just a short
term move while awaiting Senateconfirmation and that cash is
excelling at the FBI.
All right, fine.
(04:56):
But then why the secrecy?
Why did they take weeks foranyone to even notice that Pat
Patel wasn't even showing up atthe at TF?
And why hand the reins to amilitary guy with zero law
enforcement experience?
It does smell off, doesn't it?
So let's break it down.
Cattel was bold picked for the,at TF.
He's not some career bureau catbureaucrat while playing nice
(05:19):
with the anti-gun crowd, becausethat is the, a TF is a lot of
politics because it, gun rightsis a hot topic.
He's got a spine of steel trackrecord for sure.
That's for fighting what's rightunder his watch.
The A TF repealed the Biden Erazero tolerance policy that was
strangling gun dealers overpaperwork slip ups.
That's a win for us.
Plain and simple, but maybethat's not, that's why he's out.
(05:41):
Maybe he's the swamp.
Didn't like someone rocking theboat too hard.
Don't know.
Then there's Daniel Driscolllook.
I am not gonna trash this guy.
He's a Yale law grad, formerarmy officer, and advise JD
Vance, who's solid on the SecondAmendment.
The NSSF says, his appointmentshows a resolve to bring reform
to the A TF.
I hope they're right, but here'smy beef.
(06:03):
Why does a guy with nobackground in federal law
enforcement who's already got amonster job running the army get
handed this role?
Historically, the military anddomestic law enforcement.
They don't mix.
There's a reason for thatdivide.
And now we've got a Pentagon BigWood, overseeing an agency
that's supposed to enforcecivilian gun laws.
Scratch my head, but there isclater about merging the A TF
(06:24):
with the D-D-E-E-A to cut costs.
Call me crazy.
But that sounds like a recipefor more bureaucracy, not less.
Are we fixing a broken system orjust shuffling deck chairs on
the Titanic.
So where's that leave us.
On one hand, I'm fired up aboutthe Second Amendment task force.
If Pam Bondy and the DOJ areserious about protecting our
rights, I'm all in.
(06:45):
We've been under siege from thegun control zealots for too
long, and it's about time thatwe have some heavy handed
hitters in the our corner.
On the other other hand, thisPatel, Driscoll switcheroo has
me on the edge.
I trust cash to fight for us.
Driscoll's an unknown quantity,and I don't know what unknowns
when it comes to my rights.
(07:06):
Here's my take.
We've gotta continue to staydiligent.
We celebrate the wins like thetask force and we keep our eyes
peeled for funny business.
The Second Amendment is just aline in the Constitution.
It's our line in the sand.
And whether it's cash, DanielDriscoll, or anyone else sitting
in that a TF chair, they betterremember who they're working
for.
And that's us.
So what's just, what's your guttelling you?
(07:28):
I will tell you this, we haveto, like I said, stay diligent
and we have to keep fighting, fighting, fighting, and we have
to watch and finally what'sgoing on, and determine if this
is just smoke and mirrors or ifit's actually a, a, a change in
direction.
We gotta keep fighting.
That's all for today on Lived ToShoot.
Keep your powder dry, your aimtrue, and your rights locked and
loaded.
