(00:15):
Welcome to the Live Shootpodcast.
My name is Jeff Dolan.
I've been a licensed firearmdealer for the last 16 years,
and this podcast we talk aboutall things related to the Second
Amendment, as well as my throwin a sports story or anything
else that's going on in my lifethat might be interesting or
anything else that I might findinteresting for that matter.
So welcome, welcome, welcome.
It is Memorial Day weekend andthis is a special weekend that
we can remember and honor thosethat have fallen in the fight to
(00:40):
protect our freedom.
Very important weekend and, andshould.
We should all take a moment tojust pause and think about those
people that have, have given theultimate sacrifice.
Yeah, it's a three day weekendbarbecue, you know auto races.
Big sports events, all that'sgoing on.
Yeah.
In fact, I've got the MonacoGrand Prix on in the room, the
(01:02):
other room, and then you allhave the Indy 500 later today,
and then the NASCAR Coca-Colarace.
So a lot of auto racing and Ilove, I love auto racing.
I'll probably catch all three of'em a little bit today, but none
of that needs to overshadow thefact that we're really here to
remember those that have giventhe ultimate sacrifice.
And we, we we, we pray and wethank'em for those sacrifices.
(01:26):
So welcome, welcome, welcome.
It is, You know, we are gettingcloser and closer to the
deadline on the pistol bracerule, and still nothing has been
definitively resolved.
I'm still kind of holding strongto my belief that you know, if
you just don't do anything, that's fine.
That with some family membersthis weekend they were asking me
about it.
(01:47):
One has gone and, you know, paid$75 to an ffl to, to do his.
Form and that's fine.
His, his son's there asking, andI said, my advice is not to do
anything, but you know, I'm not,I'm not a lawyer and I want your
dad.
So, you know, you can do allthose.
But there was some movement andthat comes into the trial, the,
(02:10):
the case that we've all beenfiling following, and it's the
mock v Garland case and.
This case, you know, the judgehad entered an injunction for
the plaintiffs and.
There was some confusion aboutwhat did that injunction mean
and the, there was some goodnews and some bad news.
So the injunction came out and,and the judge, you know, they,
(02:33):
the Firearms Policy Coalitionfiled, you know, a motion for
asking for clarification, andthe judge came back and, and he
did clarify it, and he fed that.
The injunction applies to theFirearms Policy Commission
members.
Maximum defense customers andthe individual plaintiffs
resident family members.
(02:55):
So what does this mean?
So it means that if you're amember of the Fire and Policy
Coalition, you are protected atthis point in time by that
injunction.
Or if you're a maximum defensecustomer or a.
Family member of one of thosethat you are protected.
So fire and Policy cancommission co the Fire and
Policy Coalition, I'm sorry, they came out and said we're
(03:17):
incredibly excited to report.
The Fifth Circuit has clarifiedthat our injunction covers F P C
members and maximum defensecustomers, as we have always
argued for this.
Relief will offer protectionwhile we continue to fight
against ATFs Overreach.
So if you go out to the Fire, fire and Policy Coalition
website, you can sign up andthere's and, and be protected
(03:38):
from a, with an injunction atleast until things are decided.
So I recommend that to you.
They're in a great organization.
You know, in that, you know, theironic thing about all this is
that the atf, by doing this,it's going to jump up the
membership and money sent tothat firearms Policy Coalition.
Probably the gun owners inAmerica, cuz people, gun owners
(03:59):
in America's got lawsuits outthere.
So people are gonna be joiningthe gun owners in America as
well to hopefully get protectionif they get a similar type of
injunction.
So the ATF.
Could have just increased themembership of some of these fine
second Amendment organizationsto so that they can all seek,
(04:19):
you know, potential protection.
So I encourage you go out to theFiring Policy Coalition.
I'll put the link in the shownotes to their website and where
you can, you can join up.
And I think they've got a thingwhere if you sign up, you put
yourself in a drawing for likesome custom Glock or something.
I think so.
Look into it, it's, it'sdefinitely a thing, but that we
all need to be a part of.
(04:40):
So we are only, you know, a fewdays away from the actual
deadline.
I will keep posting on that.
I, things may heat up herepretty quickly, as, as they
always do when you get closer tothese deadlines.
The judges know that if they'regonna issue any kind of order or
injunction or decision that thedeadlines in po.
Is coming quick.
So, you know, I encourage you tokeep listening to this podcast.
(05:03):
I will send updates to it, butright now nothing defective, but
if you go out, you join theFirearm Policy Coalition, you
might be, be able to fall undersome injunction in injunctive
relief that the judge in theFifth Circuit has issued.
Now, how long does that go?
I don't know.
But Nothing, you know, nothing'sbad from coming from joining the
Fire Policy Coalition.
(05:24):
So happy Memorial Day.
Enjoy your time with yourfamily.
Be safe and I encourage y'all tolook at sign up to the fire fpc
and have a great weekend and Iwill keep you updated as things
progress.
Thanks.
